Makita 18V Cordless Drill Driver LXFD01CW

We’ve been testing out Makita’s 18V compact cordless lithium-ion-powered drill driver, and well, it’s pretty darn good. The LXFD01CW features 480 in-lb max torque delivery, 2-speed all-metal gear transmission with 0-400 and 1-1500 RPM ranges, 16+1 setting clutch, a built-in LED worklight, and rapid charger.

The LXFD01CW actually outputs a bit more torque than the BDF452HW model it seems to have replaced, and is built into a slightly lighter and smaller package.

Makita’s compact 18V batteries charge in 15 minutes (!!), and the extended capacity ones in 30 minutes.

If you’re in the market for a new 18V cordless drill, you should definitely consider taking a closer look at Makita’s [relatively] new offering. While I am usually more a fan of slimmer handles, I find this drill’s fuller handle and varied texture to be quite comfortable to grip. I am also fond of the drill/driver’s balance, build quality and performance, but I’ll discuss this in more detail in the upcoming review.

We’ve been using many of Makita’s 18V LXT lineup for several years now – and with few exceptions (their little blower comes to mind) we have not been disappointed. In the compact arena – we’ve been happy to stick with 12Volt tools (we bought into the Milwaukee M12 line) – but I can see the appeal of this drill/driver.

I am looking for an 18volt battery for cordless drill, task force, b9018 18v or a compatible battery.

I tried a quick look online I can’t find any replacement packs online anywhere. You could have the batteries rebuilt or you could try to do it yourself is the only other option if you want to keep the drill. The most economical choice would be picking up something like this Ryobi. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-18-Volt-Lithium-Drill-Kit-P828/204321535 $39 dollars gets you into a system with a bunch of other tools to add on to and batteries that are easy to get.
