3M Uvicator Hard Hat

3M is promoting their H-700 and H-800 series hard hats by inviting you to take their comfort challenge.

H-700: cap-style (retails for ~$13)
H-800: full brim (retails for ~$18)

Both hard hats are lightweight and offer extended comfort and impact protection. A Uvicator sensor on the top of the hard hat changes color the longer it is exposed to UV light. The Uvicator sensor starts off red and when it turns white you know it’s time to replace the hard hat.

Well I filled out this survey in August and nearly a month later still haven’t received this item. Granted, several weeks have passed, but I am just wondering if I’ll ever receive this item or if I feel for another bait and switch deal. That has happened in the past.

Sometimes supplies or budgets run out. There are a number of free samples and trials I signed up for before and never received. (e.g. X-Acto gold blades). I also never received an F-stop camera strap that I won via a Twitter poem contest. Grr. Frustrating, but happens. Certainly not bait and switch, though.

Stuart, you are probably correct. Just makes wonder, since a safety helmet probably isn’t going to appeal to the average person, I am not sure these would run out that quickly.

I remember that X-acto contest, but wow I am surprised you didn’t receive any, given your position as well.

Even so, programs like this have limited supplies and budgets. When people share about sample offers on forums or deal sites, supplies can be depleted in just a few hours .

I try not to invite special treatment and signed up for the sample with my personal email. That also helps me determine which sample offers to post about or avoid sharing down the road. If I come across another X-acto free sample blade offer, I probably won’t post about it.

My hard hat actually came but it took about 8 months. I thought it would never come and actually had forgot about it until I was delivered a package.

This IS BAIT! I’ve tried to get one over five times over the last couple of years.
Poor marketing however? Yes it is.
Our Marine/Fiberglass business purchased over 3500 dollars in Wet/Dry sandpaper for our molds and tooling alone.
Based on principal alone we stopped our business, closed accounts, and told the “once a month” salesman he was no longer needed.

If it makes you feel better, I never got one either.

Over two years we tried several times to try one. Nothing. This IS BAIT!
On principal alone we closed all accounts and told our salesman he was no longer needed.

    Don’t Tread On Me! Hooah!

Well, if in your shoes I would have given the salesman a chance to make up for the company’s lousy promo behavior.

Chances are he could have done something to appease you.
