Over at Home Depot, today’s deal of the day features a whole slew of air compressors, cordless nailers, air nailers, and other such tools.
Some of the deals are quite good, but I haven’t checked them all out. And since there are 19 deals in all, I’m not going to even try to discuss each and every one, but I will list them out.

Some of these deals happen a couple of times a year, others – like the larger Dewalt air compressors, or rarely on sale. This is the first time I’ve even heard of some of those models.

Personally, I’m going to look at some of those larger Dewalt air compressors. I had been holding out for a good price on a different brand, but these have caught my attention.

I was hoping the Ryobi inflator deal was for the more capable dual purpose inflator – I’ve been recommending it after using mine to come to the rescue for friends who showed up at a remote vacation house with tires that were at 10 PSI. I may still suggest this one, as the price is right for the complete kit, and the small battery inflated two tires and had power left to spare.

The Dewalt 120 gallon looks like a good deal – even after adding in sales tax. Others sell it for $2879 delivered. I’m not 100% sure it will run on a single phase circuit.

I was looking at that unit also and while the Dewalt site doesn’t provide specs on the motor, HD site says “Featuring a running horsepower of 10.0 and a 3-phase capability”. Usually this means that the motor is 3-phase but can be run on single phase circuit with a run capacitor. On single phase the motor will run at a loss of about 20% power.

The dewalt 80 gallon is rated at 17.9 CFM at 100 psi,17.0 CFM at 175 psi, breaking the laws of physics. It’s also rated at 18.3 SCFM @ 40PSI and 18.0 SCFM @ 90PSI right there on the same page.
Doesn’t anyone at dewalt or home depot have any grip on reality? I would steer far away from a product where the specs are pulled out of multiple random asses.
