Amazon quietly launched a new Dewalt cordless drill kit deal for Black Friday 2024, featuring the XR series DCD800 compact brushless drill.
This is Dewalt’s best 20V Max compact cordless drill – at least it my opinion and experience – with the XR cordless drill being a more premium choice than the brand’s Atomic series and non-XR brushless models.
Forget about the brushed motor Dewalt cordless drill, despite its immense popularity, as the XR model is leagues ahead in terms of performance, features, and value.

Right now, Amazon has this Dewalt drill kit for $129 with free shipping. I can’t tell if it’s a deal of the day or limited quantity Black Friday doorbuster-type deal. All I can tell you is that I feel this is an excellent deal. If you’re in the market for a new cordless drill, this should be at the top of your shortlist.

This is the one to get.
Excellent drill and my daily driver in the workshop. Works great with my dowelmax since it spins at 2000rpm. It lacks kickback protection, but that hasn’t been an issue for me. This is a killer deal. When I got mine, I paid $279 for the drill, charger, a 1.7ah powerstack and a 2.0 standard battery.
I currently use it with 5ah powerstacks, but once dewalt releases their 3.5ah powerstacks in the US I’ll be using those with this drill.

How does the DCD800 compare to the DCD805?

The 805 has a hammer function, the 800 does not. Otherwise they are identical.
These are fantastic drills, they are compact but they are not weak by any means, and this is a great price.

As I understand it, they’re identical except the DCD805 has a hammer mode for drilling into masonry.

Ahh. Makes sense. Thanks. I don’t use my hammer drill function often on my DCD796, but it is handy to have from time to time.

Other than the hammer function on the 805, the 800 is a bit shorter in length from the lack of a hammer function.
