Gearwrench-56pc-Ratcheting-Screwdriver-Set

Voila – we’re giving away a Gearwrench 56pc ratcheting screwdriver set! If you recall, we’re holding a giveaway this month, and since the end of the month is nearing, we thought it’s about time to reveal one more prize.

This is how it went down: we were at the store to buy one of these Gearwrench screwdriver sets to give as a housewarming gift, and impulsively decided to buy three sets – one as a gift, one for us, and one for a lucky ToolGuyd reader.

Ohhh…looks nice. Have you had an opportunity to use the set you bought for yourself, and if so, how did it work for you? I love the idea of the interchangeable shafts.

While I cannot yet confirm if this tool set will hold up to heavy duty usage, it is definitely a well designed system. Thus far, I’m fairly satisfied with the performance of this set.

There is also a comparable Kobalt set available at Lowes, but if I remember correctly, that set does not include a T-handle.

That looks like a cool little set. Does the T-handle ratchet also or just the strait handle?

    Both handles ratchet.

This would be a good set to have around the house or any DIY mechanic. I probably wouldn’t use this for any heavy duty tasks but I’m sure most of us could put it through some paces if necessary. I especially like that it has both the straight and t-handle included.

On another note, I must say that the giveaways should entice a lot more visitors to post up comments or at least look at the site more. Hopefully it will all continue regardless of any giveaway in the future.

I’m leery of Gearwrench products as I ordered the two S-wrenches that were on special through Northern Tool and I wasn’t impressed with the quality. I don’t think they are garbage but they were worth the $10 each. That said the principle of the racheting screwdriver is a good one. That would be a good tool to keep in your car toolbox.

I have seen many reviews of ratcheting screw drivers and Gearwrench is always near the top. High on my list of gotta-haves.

I agree on the S-wrenches. I bought both sets and while I didn’t feel particularly ripped-off (20 bucks for both sets after all), they don’t seem that amazing in build.

As for the ratcheting set listed above, I ordered one a long time ago from Amazon and promptly sent it back. Trash. You might as well go to the Dollar Store. I ended up getting an Apex Grip Kit (Wera with Apex bits) for about the same price. There’s a gajillion brands of ratcheting screwdriver out there, so it’s worth hunting around.
