Kershaw E.T. External Toggle Knife

Nov 16, 2009 Stuart 2 Comments

Kershaw’s E.T. external toggle knife is one sleek looking blade. Relatively lightweight at 3.7 ounces, the E.T. features a 6061-T6 anodized aluminum handle, and 3-1/4″ Sandvik 13C26 stainless steel blade with a bead-blasted finish. These are decent specs, but what really sets this knife apart from ordinary pocket folders is its unique toggle mechanism.

Almost every time I pass a work zone or construction area, I try to take a peek at the tools being used. During my trip to London last July, I caught glimpse of a few city workers preparing to do minor work on a foot bridge. During this sighting, I spotted a [very well used] Dewalt cordless […]

In our recent review of C.H. Hanson’s Precision Ball Level, we mention that the level can measure angles in degrees or in pitch. “Cordless” Snap-on Work Light Update

Nov 4, 2009 Stuart 7 Comments

A few weeks ago we mentioned Snap-on’s “cordless” work light that started to appear at various retail stores. Well, we sent an email to Snap-on’s customer service about how and why a cordless lamp requires a power cord, and their reply was rather amusing. Our question: I’ve seen the Snap-on 75W drop-light (92161) offered for sale by a […]

Oct 30, 2009 Stuart 5 Comments

Tweezers are one of those tools that you don’t realize you need until you NEED one. While these Grobet plastic tweezers won’t replace anyone’s Swiss-made precision-tipped steel tweezers, they’re great to use in a pinch and are essentially disposable. Plastic tweezers are also good to use when steel tweezers might damage a delicate part, or when […]
