Home Depot is having another tool deals of the day event, featuring power tools, accessories, and hand tools from Milwaukee, Dewalt, Ridgid, Ryobi, and more.
As usual, the focus is on money-saving cordless power tool and battery bundles, with recurring promos and some new ones added to the mix.
Here are some of the tool deals that stood out to me:

- Milwaukee M12 Fuel Barrel Grip Jig Saw with 4Ah Battery – $150
- Milwaukee M12 Fuel Hatchet Chain Saw Kit with Cordless Ratchet – $239
- Dewalt 29pc Pilot Point Drill Bit Set – $59.97

- Dewalt 20V Max 6-Tool Cordless Power Tool Combo with ToughSystem Tool Box – $499
- Ryobi 18V Cordless Power Cleaner Kit – $149
There are many more deals – it’s good to browse through the list to see if anything catches your attention or matches any tools on your shopping list.

If you are looking to buy the Milwaukee cordless pruning chain saw kit but don’t want the bonus ratchet, they have other free tool bundle options at the saw’s full price of $269.
Amazon looks to have put their tool deals on hold, which is understandable given that their Prime Big Deal Days sales event is scheduled for next week
Acme Tools has a couple of tool deals:
- Dewalt Flash Sale – save up to $60 off $399+
- Metabo HPT – save up to $40 off $299+
- Metabo – save up to $40 off $299+
Lowe’s has a steel handle 20oz Craftsman hammer on sale for $9.99, today only.
KC Tool’s deal of the day is on a Gedore ratcheting tap wrench.

The Acme Metabo deals look Ok – I’ll have to take a look to see if it includes some of the more esoteric items that don’t usually go on sale.
Meanwhile it looks like the Mafell sale is still going – $189 off most tools. Here’s one I can recommend:

Fred, that’s basically their track saw and a track, right? Can you add tracks to that single track?
Stuart
No. https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/i-have-no-idea-how-to-review-this-1000-mafell-circular-saw/%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E
It’s a cordless version of their cross-cutting saw. It’s like a track saw, but smaller. Think cutting boards and maybe trim, rather than sheets of plywood.

I bought the kit version as a Xmas gift for a nephew. It came with battery [a rebranded Metabo (not Metabo HPT) battery] and charger plus their roll-up rail. I also bought him the optional 120mm-dia. blades that they offer If I read the Timberwolf page correctly – you can click on one option to buy it as a bare tool or with the roll-up rail too. He does flooring. If you’re unsure about what comes with what for any of the Mafell products – I have found that the guys at Timberwolf Tools are very helpful if you call them.
I also bought a Mafell K65 18M BL (185mm dia,) saw for another recipient. I too bought it as a kit and added in some blades. That person is using it with Bosch guide rails as well as the short rail that came with the kit.

It’s awfully tempting – I’ve had a lot of “I wish I kept it” moments about the corded version test sample loaner I returned years ago.
I’ve also been tempted to look closer at the full-size cordless track saw, but I’m not convinced it’s better than others (owned and test samples) currently in my possession.

Number of years ago, I jumped into the Mafell pool and bought the corded KSS 50cc cross-cutting system. What an assist for doing woodworking!!! Wish I’d taken the plunge earlier! Later, I bought the Mafell track saw, but I almost never use it, preferring to quickly change blades on the KSS 50cc and use it on the (Bosch or Powertec) tracks.
Instead of the Mafell track saw, when doing repetitive cutting, I prefer my home-made ‘bridge’ system, based on the Eurekazone (EZ) tracks (RIP- no longer in business). Having spent so much time/$ on the EZ extrusions thru the years, I’ve made loads of jigs for them, and, at this juncture of life, find it is much easier to turn to them for consistent output- YMMV.
I’m guessing most saw brands will do well once a person ‘adapts’ them to their own needs/abilities.

I’ve heard nothing but praise for the smaller (120mm) KSS 40 18M bl saw. But its more for flooring, trim etc. than general carpentry. The auxiliary flexible (coils up) auxiliary track is very clever. Mafell sells 4 different blades for it – 12T, 24T and 2 different 40T, My Nephew told me that he’s bought some cheaper blades from Dart that fit:

The other 185mm (7.28 inch) Mafell K65 18M BL has depth of cut capabilities somewhat greater than other cordless track saws. I guess that it goes with the territory that Mafell only makes 2 – thin (1.8mm) kerf (16T and 32T) blades that they recommend for use with it. I’m told that Makita makes some blades that might also work having 1.9mm kerf and 24T and 40T

Fred, I remember your earlier comments on this previously unknown to me class of saws.
Speaking of Metabo (HPT free that is) and German handheld cross cut saws…
Any experience with this:
Metabo KS 18 LTX 66 BL 18V Brushless Deep Cut Lithium-Ion 6-1/2 in. Cordless Circular Saw
?
Is this pretty similar to the Mafell, and is the Mafell worth 4x more $ to most users?
Farkleberry
Kind of hoping HPT pirates this like they did the track saw. Not sure about COO with these Metabo/Metabo HPT crossovers though.
fred
My only – now old experience with Metabo was in our metal fabrication business. Grinders and polishers – no saws.
In our GC/Remodeling business we had great luck with Hitachi (pre Metabo-HPT) tools – but they were mostly pneumatic nailers.
Regarding whether Mafell is worth their premium price – I can’t say – but my thought for buying them as gifts is that it’s nice to give something that the recipient can and will use to good effect – and would not purchase for themselves beacuse of cost.

That DeWalt kit is pretty compelling. It has the ToughSystem case, instead of a shapeless bag. It also have five useful tools (no flashlight like in many of these “kits”) and an XR 5ah battery. They’re all from the basic brushl, ess line, but DeWalt has some gems in that line.
Goodie
correction *six* useful tools.

I wish Home Depot would make the price of their tools cheaper rather than adding a battery or two at a bundled discount. I’d love to buy the M12 pruning chainsaw but I need another M12 battery like I need a hole in the head.
Stuart
Other retailers sometimes have money-off deals that can get you a discount on bare tools.

Familiarity with the site and product lists are what keeps sucking me down the Home Depot rabbit hole. :-/
