Stanley Blackhawk Universal QuickRatchet Set

Stanley’s Blackhawk Universal QuickRatchet set (SAE) features a flex-head handle that accepts multiple ratcheting attachments. Included in the set are six 12pt socket wrench sizes (3/8″, 7/16″, 1/2″, 9/16″, 5/8″, 3/4″), a 1/4″ square drive head, 3/8″ square drive head, 1/4″ hex bit driver, and 6 screwdriver bits.

The modular configuration of the QuickRatchet makes it exceptionally well suited for use in tight areas or by users who require as compact a kit as possible.

With its $31.00 price, it looks like this SAE set has been discontinued and liquidated. Similarly configured metric and combined SAE+metric sets are available.

I got one of these cheap through EBay and it is great. I can’t seem to locate the metric portion seperately though

I just got this today, hard to beat a locking flex ratchet 72-tooth 3/8 and 1/4 set for $31. The other heads are just cake for me, but I will have a call in on Monday to my local Blackhawk dealer on the BWD-1307MS metric head set, because I really like complete sets. I like the handle.

For what it’s worth, my package from Amazon shipped USPS priority mail, arrived from North Carolina in under 48 hours. The tool case inside was not plastic sealed or zip tied and it looked like it sat in a warehouse for quite some time but there’s nothing wrong with that in my eyes, aside from the COO being lost since there is no printed label. There are US, Taiwan and China patent numbers molded into the case. The case does not separate for toolbox drawer storage. None of the tools displays COO imprint, so until otherwise informed I assume they are of Asian origin. I will refrain from ranting about how I thought all Proto and Blackhawk was USA/England/France/Italy and how Stanley-DeWalt is killing jobs since their fine company was quite nice to me this week.

I spent a little time with this on the front of a Buick motor in a Chevy, the SAE ratcheting heads do need a little more clearance than typical wrenches due to the size of the locking swivel and chuck but it’s minimal. The tool feels good, the handle is a nice size and is very comfortable in my hand after using it. The 1/4 and 3/8 ratchet work fine and reverse by pushing the drive through the face of the head, so you have to flip the tool over to reverse as with the fastener sized drive heads. The 1/4in hex bitdriver looked gimmicky to me but it works fine, does not ratchet. Stanley’s site and the in-box graphic shows a knurled 1/4sq-to-1/4 hex bitdriver adapter which was not included in the shipment or in the photo on Amazon and I don’t miss it. This tool feels like it will last and for the price I’m very pleased.

I found a Stanley branded tool kit with this handle, one 3/8in ratchet head, one 1/4 hex bitdriver head and a dozen assorted hex screwdriver bits for $19 at Jaeger Lumber, package lists COO as Taiwan. I didn’t take a photo, fairly sure it’s discontinued but that should put to bed any thoughts that this is made in the USA.
