The well-regarded Bosch 12″ dual bevel miter saw (GCM12SD), with its much-coveted axial-glide sliding mechanism, is on sale right now at an incredibly good price.
At Acme Tools, it’s priced at $549, which is around the average holiday season special buy for this popular miter saw. Shopping around, it’s pretty much the same price everywhere.
But, it looks like you can ALSO apply Acme Tools’ special Cyber Monday coupon to save even more. Enter code CYBERDEAL at checkout, and the price of the Bosch 12″ axial glide miter saw drops down to $474 with free shipping.

This seems like a fantastic deal to me!

I got a refurbished one from acme last week for $400. Not sure if that’s still available, but that was the best deal I’ve ever seen on this saw

I have had this saw for several years and its a great miter saw. The axial glide system works very smoothly and is very compact compared to most other miter saws. Dual bevel is very handy.
That’s a nice price. FYI this saw is quite stoutly built and heavy. More of a bench top saw than a mobile chop saw.
My only caveat is to make sure you check to see if the right and left beds and the center pivot are all coplanar and level. I had to return several that were badly out of level toward the middle which can cause the blade to bind.
You should be able to run a straight edge all the way across without catching.
After the first bad one I received, I checked other brands on store shelves and most were not flat. The Dewalt was one of the few to be consistently flat, but I did not have room for those long glide bars. And overall I like the Bosch better. I did eventually find one that was acceptable.
Be sure to check it for squareness in all directions when you set it up. Mine was not totally true out of the box. There are easy to use adjustments to fine tune the saw so it cuts beautifully.

Isn’t there any built-in adjustability to level the beds?

I’ve had mine for over 11 years. It’s more of a battleship versus the Dewalt that it replaced. I have it on Bosch’s gravity rise stand which I highly recommend for mobility. Even on wheels it’s a beast to roll up into the bed of my truck. We bought some early on for our business- and had some issues with a few. Some of that may have been shipping damage – but mine came shipped strapped to a pallet. Bosch may also have upgraded their packaging to better ship this heavy saw.
In any event you need to check everything out on arrival. My table was very close to dead flat. My fences came co-planar side to side and 90degees to the table. The blade (quickly replaced for something better) was 90 degrees to the table at that setting. My axial glide worked smoothly with no wobble or burn marks along cuts at various settings of cut angle and bevel angle. With any miter saw – you should check all of this out – and if adjustments to true things up are not possible – find that out when you can still return the saw.
Some other notes:
I have 2 hold downs (1 609 B02 315) for mine – positioned on both sides of the blade
Mine has a Bosch length stop (MS1234 – # 1 600 Z00 01V) fitted
I added Bosch’s laser (LS010) – which I found useless
I replaced the stock blade with an 80T Forrest (CM12806115)
