Over at Amazon, Bosch’s $20 off $50+ promo just went live. Now, thru 6/22/2015, save $50 on $200+ orders of select Bosch tools and accessories that are sold and shipped directly by Amazon. The discount appears automatically at checkout.
There are a lot more tools and accessories included in this promo, than in the previous one, which was for $20 off $100+ select cordless tool orders.

There are still some exclusions with this discount promo, such as the Bosch DDB181 18V compact drill/driver kit that’s back on sale for $99. Still, all of the products I checked, from jig saw blades to miter saws, are eligible for the deal.
Unfortunately, it looks like table saws are not a part of this promo. L-Boxx tool storage cases are. And of course most cordless products seem to be eligible for the discount as well.

So… what are you going to buy?

I just got one of the antivibration sanders you posted about a while back, the ROS65VC-6. Thanks! Amazon had it for $211 so I got it for $161. Had my eye on it for a while, and this is within my budget (stretching it a bit). The 6″ costs less than the 5″, interesting.
Pablo
I wonder how this performs versus the RO150 from Festool. I have the RO150 now but if I could turn this one sander into two or three, it’d expand my capabilities.
Drew M
Looks like the 6″ sanding discs are more expensive though (as expected). Does anyone have an opinion on 5″ vs 6″ pad on this sander?
Pablo
Depends what you’re doing, but a 6″ sander is 44% more working area than a 5″.
I get by w/ a 3.5″ detail sander and a 6″ just fine, but if you do a lot of staircases or whatnot, you probably want the 5″.

From a few things I’ve read, the 6″ sander has a 5″ pad that you can buy as an accessory. Does does anyone know if this is the case? This would come in handy at times.
ktash
Ok, I just answered my own question. It does allow you to change out to a 5″ pad. Here’s a video explaining it as well as some other info.

Welp. Even though I’m fairly certain that the Festool ETS150/3 is a better sander, I just can’t justify twice the price and I don’t like the idea of being locked into their sanding discs or their insanely priced accessories. Hopefully, Amazon lowers the price on the ROS65vc-6 back down to just over $200 and I’ll get it.

Cool, thanks for the heads up Stu.

My wife is going to murder me.
Thanks Stuart.

Looks like I get to round out my 12v lineup with the brushless PS32 Drill, 4ah battery, and new LED light! I wish they would bring the jigsaw and 3/8″ impact over here.
John S
Ah, how I hate the NAINA Bosch 12v stuff 🙁 Don’t forget the screwgun as well 🙁
I am really close to pulling the trigger on two complete l-racks. They are already on sale a good bit from normal and the extra $50 off make it a great deal. Then again, I already have a ton of l-racks so I am not sure I NEED two more….
Dan
Used the opportunity to order the 16 gauge cordless nail gun, have wanted one for a while.

Looks like the Bosch 12 volt circular saw and jig saw are out of stock at Amazon.
John S
Wait, they were available on the US Amazon site?!? I know the jigsaw was a while ago, but I didn’t think it had returned, and I didn’t think the circ saw had ever made its debut here yet…

Ditto on “my wife is going to murder me”!
I bought the bare tool “Bosch RHS181K 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2-inch Compact Rotary Hammer with Brushless Motor Technology”.
So I’m totally pleased with the heads up you gave us Stu.
I’ve got a ton of cinderblock drilling in my near future and cordless is so darn easier.
Woo hoooo.

Well, I was going to purchase my Bosch 12v tools, then the bare kit PS32 brushless 3/8 drill jumped in price from $99 to $109. I sat on the order since I have plenty of time until the sale ends.
Now the PS32 bare drill kit has jumped in price to $119. That is $20 higher than when I first put it in my cart. This is kind of a bummer. I might as well let it sit there and see what it does.

October through to December seems to be the best months for tool prices. Probably a slow time for sales. I’ve learned to replace my tools at the end of summer to catch these.
Brian
Note that Amazon won’t ship drills to Hawaii, so I can’t take advantage of this deal.
