Bosch’s Flexiclick modular 12V Max drill/driver has officially launched! I’ve been putting the final touches on my review, and in preparing it, I noticed that the kit went on sale.
The Bosch Flexiclick kit was priced at $199, and just before it launched it was available with a $10 preorder discount.

Now, the kit is priced at $169 over at Amazon, reflecting savings of $30.
The Flexiclick is a versatile 5-in-1 cordless drill/driver, with 1/4″ chuck, right angle adapter, drill chuck, offset driver adapter, and a locking bit holder attachment.
The offset and right angle tool heads can be attached in different positions. There are 16 angular orientations in total, allowing the Flexiclick to work in conditions too cramped or obstructed for many other “ordinary” drills or drivers.
The kit comes with (2) 2.0Ah battery packs, a charger, and a carrying case.
Sale Price: $169

I don’t know how long the kit will be at this price, or if it will even expire. I just know that it has a list price of $199, and today I checked the link and the price was $30 lower.

Deal or No Deal?
If you were on the fence at $199, $169 is definitely more appealing. That’s still quite a bit more money than a plain Jane 12V-class drill/driver, but its different attachments definitely have the ability to get woodworkers, installers, and other such users out of tight spots – or work in them, in a literal sense.
While not a heart-pumping “buy now, think later” deal, $30 off is still very good. That’s equivalent to a ~15% discount.
Spoiler: I’m putting the finishing touches on my review (thank you Bosch for the test sample!), and don’t have any complaints so far.

Sucks for everyone that pre-ordered and thought a $10 gift card was worth the lack of any discount.
Like I commented in the previous Flexiclick thread, Amazon tends to keep Bosch stuff around the “sale” prices of other retailers, so I’d expect the kit will stay below the MSRP, at least more often than not. It’ll be interesting to see what the “sale” prices wind up being at Lowe’s and online sellers.
I am planning to buy, but will probably wait until this hits a much lower price point and combos with a $20 off $100 offer, or some better deal elsewhere.

Agreed, but there was no way to know.
Personally, I don’t think that this will be eligible for the holiday discounts that we’re expecting to see in just a few weeks. If it is, you can almost bet that the price will go back up to $199 or thereabouts, resulting in a higher after-coupon price than it’s selling for right now.
Since the Flexiclick has only been shipping for less than 30 days, if Amazon was unwilling to do a price adjustment for me, I’d do a return and rebuy. Or rather, a rebuy and return. It might be worth it, even after eating a small shipping fee deduction.

I posted in the thread for anyone who cared enough about pricing to read buying advice first, plus I think it’s just an obvious thing that Bosch stuff and power tools in general sell at “sale” pricing that Amazon usually comes close to. The full price plus $10 gift card thing was for those who are easily duped – or were willing to pay a premium to be some of the first to buy it and try it out.
Amazon hasn’t offered price protection for quite awhile, though sometimes they will do a price adjustment and refund if asked, but they do get a flag on your account every time for stuff like that, and Amazon eventually bans people who receive a certain number of partial refunds or do returns and re-buys.

If it hasn’t shipped yet, and Amazon dings you for that, that is horrible. I get them having to protect against fraud, but that almost seems like fraud what they did to someone who pre-ordered at a higher price.

It’s not brushless, though, and that’s a deal-breaker for me.

This has probably been in development for years, and so the brushless stuff came out before it. Plus it hits a certain price point, a brushless tool with the kit would probably cost more than most people want to spend on a compact 10.8-12V tool.
If it sells well, there will probably be a brushless version in the future, though. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s already in development as a refresh to this model in a few years, especially as brushless stuff gets more common and the price comes down some.

Just ordered mine through Lowes pick up in store for $169 minus military discount of $16.90. After taxes total $161.61. Wishing Home Depot would follow suit with adding Military discount to there online ordering as Lowes has.

I saw a picture on instagram where someone connected like 20 of the right angle heads together ?

I wonder how much torque was left after transferring through all those gears?

Bosch_PT_Fan over in Germany made his own brushless version out of this by combining a brushless 12V drill with the FlexiClick one. Video is in German though.
