I have bought a number of Bosch jig saw blade sets over the years, and they’re the only brand I use. Less than a dollar per blade and a free hardshell case is a great deal.

Bosch RA1181 benchtop router table – a portable router table with 27″ x 18″ aluminum benchtop.
I would consider this to be better suited for portable jobsite use than home DIY or woodworker use. In general, aluminum work surfaces can be hit or miss; they’re flat enough for construction uses but can deviate too much for fine joinery or profiling.

Not a fan of that router table. I’d either get the $70 Rockler trim router table http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=30716&site=ROCKLER or a full-sized one. Portable 1/2″ collet router tables seem pointless to me. Especially since http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H14DLY/ is only $163.
I struggled w/ wondering if I wanted to buy the cabinet style bosch router table. I view it this way. If I need a heavy duty bit, my full-sized (Rockler brand) table is idea, especially since I have the dust collection bucket underneath hooked up to a 2hp dust collector, making it very clean….or I just want a quick roundover with a small piece or more accuracy than handheld in which I hook up my old Bosch colt to the portable trim router table.
Like most Bosch items, I got excited at first and excitement waned once I carefully considered all the facts.
It’s really eerie. Bosch is so good at nearly making me happy, but having some fatal flaw that prevents me from sealing the deal and makes me go with someone else (usually DeWalt) instead. There’s nothing “wrong” with them and all their efforts are either innovative or respectable. It’s just someone else does it either a little better or gives something just as good for a little cheaper. (with the exception of my bulldog rotary hammer, which is awesome).
So yeah, I got excited on seeing that in my inbox, but no order placed for me. The drill bits are good deal, but Milwaukee sells a similar set for the same price regularly at Home Despot.
Get the awesome-looking 1250DEVS on sale and maybe I’ll be a few bucks poorer, but beyond that one tool (which is too expensive for me to justify when the next best thing is $150 cheaper), Bosch just is a brand that I respect, but never like enough over it’s competition to buy.

These types of router tables are not just for contractors; DIYers and woodworkers with little space and smaller budgets can definitely benefit from portable router tables.
I didn’t mention the router table in the post initially because it’s one of those products that can be hit or miss. I would agree with you that Bosch’s other portable router table might be a more accurate product, but the one featured in the deal has an aluminum table which might last longer than MDF under jobsite conditions.

I have the RA1171 and love it. My old-school USA Porter Cable bolted right up and I regularly use it to radius board edges for various projects. I leave it set up most of the time, but if it was any larger it simply wouldn’t work in my shop. A lighter model like the RA1181 (about 10 pounds lighter it seems, though it is hard to sort out shipping versus assembled weight) would be better if I had to dismount it often and store it under the bench.
As Stuart pointed out, the cheaper RA1181 is also more weather tolerant, and the MDF backer board is easily replaceable. I don’t know how many yard and garage sales I’ve been too where I’ve seen water damaged wood/particle board/MDF tabled tools. Most are items I would have avoided new anyway but for those on a tight budget in humid climates or working in a leaky wooden shed, a weather tolerant tool is a good option.
