As mentioned in an earlier post, Acme Tools has a $50 off $200+ Bosch Tools promo, today only. This is the best deal you’re going to find on a lot of Bosch tools – jig saws, routers, sanders, etc.
Bosch’s 1617EVSPK router kit comes with the router motor, fixed base, plunge base, 1/4″ and 1/2″ collets, and carrying case.

I took advantage of this deal last year to buy a Bosch router kit, and thought it would be a good idea to share about it in its own post. I have also owned this kit in Craftsman branding (Bosch made it for Sears back in the day) for more than a decade, and it’s just perfect.
Right now, this router kit is $189.00 at Acme Tools. You need to add at least $11 to your order to be able to take advantage of the coupon code. I added a link to a $14.99 impact screwdriver bit set below for convenience. The final price would then be $154, which is a heck of a good deal on this router set.
You don’t have to buy that bit set – you can add any total of Bosch tools or accessories that bring you up above $200. You could buy a couple of Bosch router bits, router accessories, etc, just as long as it brings your Bosch order total over $200.
If you’ve been looking to buy Bosch’s router set, this is the best price I can recall ever seeing.
Oh, and the handles on the fixed base is real wood. It’s a nice touch that really gives the tool a classic feel (if you ask me).

crap. I’ve been on the fence for buying one of those for quite some time. might be time.
That with the router table base would also be over the 200 mark and also a good deal.
Nathan
scratch that – ACMe doesn’t seem to carry the router table base accessory.
oh well. still a decent deal and like said above get some other product for the discount.
Brad
Doesn’t the fixed base in that kit function as a router table mount? I think it even comes with the T-handle “key” to raise and lower it these days, per routerforums threads I’ve found.
A W
Yes it does. I own the kit and it works really nicely in the Bosch router table.
fred
The folks that might by the auxiliary base are ones that want to do a lot of swapping in and out back and forth for hand-held and router table use. You’re paying extra for this convenience.
BTW – I’ve used this router for years in a table – mine mounted in a lift and plugged into the table’s switch circuit. So the router’s switch is always in the on position. I’ve read some folks complain that the router’s switch has failed in the under-table position because of the infiltration of dust. I’ve never had this problem – but my router switch is never used.
Doresoom
Do it. This is the best price I’ve ever seen on this router kit after watching it for several years. I have one myself and love it, but always check back to see if I got the best deal I could have, which was $180 at the time.

Search “Bosch $50 off $200” on this site and you’ll see it’s happened quite a few times in just the last several years. Multiple times a year.
Stuart
Yes, but at many of those times this kit was excluded or priced higher at $219 or so.
There’s a reason I didn’t buy one sooner than last year’s deal. I wanted but didn’t need another router, so I passed at higher prices even when there were promos like this one.
$50 off $200 has also become a rarer promo than in the past.
fred
If you plan on using this in a router table – you don’t absolutely need but might want to buy their separate base:

Acme doesn’t list the price – but might price match Amazon:

I saw this yesterday and have been hmming and hawing about which “filler” accessories to buy to put it over $200. I acquired a used 1617 with just the fixed base and 1/2″ collet (i.e. missing both wrenches, 1/4″ collet, etc.). I’m going to get the kit, since the plunge base alone would be about $80 after a $20-off-$100 promo, whereas the kit would afford an extra fixed base (could use in a router table), another 1/2″ collet, a 1/4″ collet, both wrenches, and a nice case.
Also of note, both the $20-off-$100 and $50-off-$200 work for all Bosch items. Acme recently lowered the price of the Bosch 12V palm router (tool only) from $149 to $129, so with the promo, $109 and no tax. For those already bought into the Bosch 12V battery system, that’s an incredible deal.

Amazon (US) has the same deal for the Bosch 12v router ($129 – ($20 off $100)).
Stuart
Yep. Here’s the link:

Personally I feel that adding an accessory for the router to hit over $200 would be a better idea. I recommend an edge guide or the 3 hood dust collection accessory.
Brad
Or the centering cone ($6.99) and template adapter ($5.99).
Or they have really good prices on M42 (hardest cobalt-steel alloy you can usually find) drill bits. https://www.acmetools.com/shop/SearchDisplay?searchType=1002&storeUserType=G&categoryId=&searchTerm=m42&sort=titleasc
Tam
you can also get it from home depot if you want the router table as well.

I wish Bosch sold more of their tools in the US with L-boxxes. I have a few, and a lot of Systainers, and it amazes me that more people dont use standardized tool boxes.
Brad
Standardized, modular tool boxes are my dream. I have a bunch of the Milwaukee ones that preceded the packout line, but they’re all one type and size, with no available dolly or tote. You’d think tool manufacturers would sell their tools in kits that come with a single L-Boxx, ToughSystem box, or packout to hook people into their brand’s box system to foster brand loyalty, but c’est la vie. I’m not the one getting paid the big bucks to market tools. I’m just a guy with most of the Bosch 12V brushless line, two Bosch 1617 routers, a Bosch ROS, and zero L-Boxxes, because none of them came with one.
Brad
For those who missed this router deal yesterday, Amazon is doing the same $50-off-$200 deal today. It’s not as good as the Acme deal, since Amazon now collects tax for most of us, but it’s still a good deal.
If you want a newer model of router, the new Bosch Colt palm router (GKF125CEPK) and 15-amp electronic router (MRC23EVSK or MRP23EVS) are at great prices when combined with this $50 off deal.
