Stanley Bostitch’s CAP1516 is an ultra-quiet and super portable 1.6 gallon oil-free air compressor intended for light duty trim work. Capable of powering a finish nailer, this Bostitch should be able to handle brad nailers, pinners, and staplers as well.

The CAP1516 has a power rating of 1.5HP at peak and 1.1HP while running, outputs 2.7 CFM at 40PSI, or 1.8 CFM at 90PSI, and can provide a maximum pressure of 125PSI.

Bostitch’s CAP1516 is available for about $150-160, but is currently on clearance at Sears for $75, and on sale at Amazon for $80. The next lowest price we could find is $120 for a refurbished unit.

Right now (Jan 31/10) KMart has the Stanley Bostitch Cap 1516 for 74.95 and then an extra 10% off. They also have free shipping with this deal !!! Don’t know for how long “cause it says “while supplies last”. I just bought one for $ 73.20 including sales tax and shipped to my door !!!! I imagine Sears has the same deal.

Eric, $73.20 is a pretty good deal! It looks like the 10% sale has ended, but the compressor’s still priced at $74.97.

If you can, let us know how you like the compressor. It seems like a great unit, but it’s always good to see if real-world impressions match one’s expectations.
