I’d swear I’ve seen this Bostitch rolling tool box under other brands’ labels, such as Stanley/Stanley Fatmax, or Dewalt – and I probably have.
It’s a modular tool box stack, in the sense that you can remove different sections for separate use. But it’s not a modular system.

Personally, I like full customization, where I can choose a stack of organizers or smaller tool boxes, or a few big and spacious large-compartment tool boxes. But I know some people like this “one and done” type of setup.
Right now, it’s on sale at Amazon, for $99, and with a “was” price of $148. Reviews are mixed. If you own one of these, what’s your take on it?

Personally, I find this Stanley FatMax 4-in-1 mobile work station to be a little more appealing, since the entire thing cantilevers open to help you easily find your tools and supplies.

User reviews of this one seem to be fairly positive.
This Stanley tool box looks to have less storage capacity, but the way it opens up and presents each section for inspection looks handy.
Price: $70, if you “clip a coupon” on the product page. The “list price” is said to be $100. Other sellers have it for ~$95.

I have had the stanley for about 8 or 10 years. Excellent product. I keep all my interior painting tools in there. It is easy to roll onto the job even up stairs. After opening you have quick access to everything. This has been a real time saver for me. Although it has not broken and still works good I would like to have something very similar but build slightly heavier duty and with 20% more storage. I would probably always want 20% more though! There is always one more thing you would like to keep in there but it won’t fit. Overall, especially considering the normal or sale price this is a great box for a wide variety of trades or hobbyists. Dewalt makes two other models that are copies of the stanley. They are similar. I believe one of theirs is heavier duty but lacks a top tray (Seems like a really stupid idea to not include the tool tray on the premium model) The heavy duty model is DWST20880 but has no tray.

The other DeWalt model is DWST20800. It comes with a tray but it isn’t as heavy duty as the DWST20880 from what I gather from other peoples comments on Amazon. Not sure how either model compares in build quality to the stanley.

I’m never sure if I like the cheap wheels that they put on these things – but maybe a full pneumatic tire and wheel would be overkill but nice.
What I do like is that the stack does not emblazon the manufacturer’s name all over the box. Unobtrusive black – with a label that you can peel off – is better for my tastes.

I had the Fat Max 4-in1 for a while. It was nice and holds a lot, but opened up it has too big a foot print for most of my job sites.

The Stanley has the same dimensions and price as the Husky connect rolling system toolbox but that one has a latching modular box approach instead of a cantilever system. The Husky also has an array of bins in the top box like an organizer, can accept an additional (cantilevered) box on top of the included set of three and appears to be more durable (based on the reviews of each).
The Husky stays at the top of my list of promising modular/mobile storage solutions.
