Bucket Boss’s Rear Guard Tool Sheath is a small utility pouch that is great for carrying a a few tools around hands-free. The Rear Guard can be attached to an ordinary pants belt, and also has a flap that can be inserted into a back pocket for extra stability.
I’ve been using a Rear Guard for quite some time now (almost 3 years), and figured it was about time to formally review it.

While the Rear Guard is not quite a tool belt, or mini tool belt for that matter, it can fit about the same number of tools you can stuff into your pockets if you weren’t trying to heard. As with other Bucket Boss gear, the Rear Guard is made from a very tough fabric, and is quite durable.
The Bucket Boss Rear Guard tool sheath is well made and is handy for carrying a few tools around. But don’t get carried away – if you overload the tool pouch, it will tug at your belt awkwardly and mercilessly. If this happens, you can slip the rear flap of the Rear Guard into a back pocket, but in doing so you will lose the ability to comfortably use the largest tool pocket.
The pouch featured above was purchased from Amazon in July ’07 for $13. Since then, I have yet to find a better performing mini tool pouch anywhere close to the Rear Guard’s price. Do we recomemnd it? Absolutely!

As an electrician this type of pouch is great for small jobs, just slip it in the back pocket and go. The Bucket Boss is decent, but after I wore through my third one I found this: http://www.bestbelt.com/product/belts-accessories/5053-caddy.html Three times the price, but the leather keeps the tools in place when working in awkward spaces. Well worth it if you’re using it every day.

Thank you. Been working as an electrician for a little while now so this is very useful.
