Rockwell JawStand Slow Clamp Adjustment Knob Workaround

Oct 26, 2010 Stuart Discuss

Over at Toolsnob yesterday, Doug posted a review of the Rockwell JawStand. In the review, he pointed out that the clamping mechanism is slow to adjust, and that closing it from 1-1/2″ to 3/4″ requires nearly 20 turns of the adjustment knob. This slowness is actually something that we discovered as well, but neglected to […]

Rockwell JawStand Work Support Review

Sep 21, 2010 Stuart 4 Comments

Rockwell’s new JawStand is designed to serve as a work support, outfeed/extension table, and a third hand type support. It looks like a handy tool, but how well does it really work? Before we get to the meat of the review, I’ll just come right out and say it – the JawStand is as handy as it looks and […]

Red Toolbox T010-F Workbench

Aug 25, 2010 Stuart 4 Comments

Red Toolbox’s T010-F workbench is a fold-away tool center meant for use by children, and yet it incorporates many well though out features that I can see being very handy for adult use. It has a 24″ x 17.5″ work surface, built-in tool storage, an integrated vise, and what appears to be a somewhat sturdy steel […]

Ridgid SuperClamp Portable Clamping Work Station

Apr 9, 2010 Stuart 12 Comments

Ridgid just came out with the SuperClamp, robust mobile clamping workstation. The Superclamp has a solid array of user-friendly features, and bears an extremely close resemblance to Triton’s venerable Superjaws workbench. With a jaw capacity of 37-1/2″, and a foot operated clamp capable of exerting 2,000 pounds of force, the SuperClamp will be definitely be a strong competitor to Rockwell’s Jawhorse.

Panavise 301 Standard Vise

Mar 9, 2010 Stuart 5 Comments

PanaVise vises are great for electronics, hobby work, or any delicate task that requires more finesse or precision than a large bulky iron vise allows. The 301 standard PanaVise is reasonably sized and features a split ball design that allows 180° tilt, 360° turn, and 360° rotate positioning adjustments.
