Over at Amazon, they have a few Dewalt tools as part of today’s Deal of the Day. This air compressor deal stood out to me, because not only is it on sale, it’s eligible for Amazon’s $25 off $100+ holiday promo.
With the deal of the day and $25 discounts both applied, the final price comes to $95, which is pretty good.

This 6-gallon pancake-style air compressor, DWFP55126, looks a lot like Porter Cable’s similarly sized units, but appears to have different system components, as well as a higher max PSI.
It looks to be a well-regarded air compressor at a very good price.
Price: $95 $120 at checkout (plus tax)
Update: The $25 over $100+ discount no longer applies, the price is now $120, which is still $50 less than its regular price of $170.
You can find the other deals here, but I’ll describe them below.

Deals ends at 3am ET 12/22/16, unless supplies run out sooner.
Dewalt 20V Max 4-Tool Combo kit for $229 – this was a previous deal of the day at the same price. It’s a good deal for what you get. It comes with regular Dewalt 20V Max tools, not holiday specials. The saws are Dewalt’s standard non-premium combo kit models. A plus – the kit comes with 2.0Ah battery packs, not the cheaper 1.5Ah packs.
I’m sorry, I don’t really know much about this Dewalt DW0811 line laser level, but it looks to be $40 off from the regular price of $160.
They say it Simulates functionality of rotary laser and projects bright crossing horizontal and vertical lines.
Price: $120
This used to be a standard holiday season drill special, until the 20V Max Li-ion DCD771 came along.
The DC970K-2 kit features an 18V drill that’s somehow described as being lightweight, while weighing 5.2 lbs. It comes with a charger, carrying case, and (2) 1.2 Ah battery packs.
I’d say this is a good buy for anyone looking for a drill/driver for under $60, and who was okay working with low capacity and NiCd battery packs.
There are far better cordless drills out there, but you’d have to up your budget to at least $99 or look at more value-oriented brands and models.
Price: $59
If you could stretch your budget just a little bit, Porter Cable’s 20V Max 1-battery drill kit is another budget option.

I’d like to try that compressor vs my PC one. I got it for 99 last christmas and thought that was a good deal. The dewalt one has some better specs but I wonder if it really is quieter.
because my PC one is rather loud.
fred
Really quiet usually comes from using a oil-bath lubrication system and rotary vane design. Most of these small compressors are oiless and piston design – but I guess one may be “quieter” than another.
Steve
Added the compressor to my cart and at checkout the $25 off did not apply. Looks like they were applying that discount by mistake and have since fixed it.
Stuart
Darn.
Sorry! I checked it out just before the post went up, and the discount was still working then. They usually do remove promo eligibility for deal of the day items. $120 is still a good price, but $95 was better.

Bought that Dewalt compressor November 2014 using the Amazon $25 off of $100 deal. Since then it has been my go to compressor while my heavy iron twin hotdog comp stays home. If I needed one I’d grab this deal in a heartbeat as it is solidly built and has not given a minutes trouble. $95 bucks for this comp is a giveaway.

Can’t imagine buying the nicad stuff today. Not with the newer stuff being affordable . Heck even ryobi has brushless motors and lithium ion battery packs.

I had a Porter Cable pancake compressor for years, couldn’t take the noise any longer. Check out the Kobalt Quiet Tech Twin Stack Air Compressor. Super quiet, no oil required.

I really wish the $25 off $100 applied to the tough system this year on Amazon. CPO does but slow expensive shipping.
Stuart
I believe Home Depot’s promo applies to certain Tough System boxes.
And Acme has a 15% sale on the tool boxes, or something like that.
