Preorders for the new Dewalt 20V Max cordless transfer pump recently went live.
As expected, it will be available in tool-only and kit formats.
Unexpectedly, the prices are higher than when the new tool was announced on February 6, 2025, and it looks like the change has been made at all authorized dealers.

A quick Google search shows some product page summaries with the anticipated pricing, but a click-through shows the new higher pricing. While price changes aren’t unheard of, this suggests that the price was updates from what Dewalt originally planned for.
Dewalt DCE050B Tool-Only Price: $229 at announcement, $249 at launch
Dewalt DCE050P1 Kit Price: $349 at announcement, $379 at launch

Get used to it gentlemen.

I anticipate the entire lineup will receive a price increase soon. There have been a slew of out-of-season DeWalt 20v sales the last few weeks – I expect they are adjusting inventory ahead of a big price increase. Look at the last 5 years of SBD behavior WRT to tariffs and supply chain changes if you don’t believe me. If you have a need for a specific tool I’d recommend getting it now.
Stuart
No, not necessarily. Dewalt has a lot of flexibility in how they price tools.
Right now, this is just launch pricing unexpectedly higher than announcement pricing from 2 months earlier.

I heard the Dewalt tyre pump is going up in price. Inflation!
Will
That thing causes inflation. All of my vehicles have been affected.

It’s common practice. Let’s take the 20V plunge router as an example. The initial MSRP was $349. Then they “discounted” it for $299. Then they had a promo to get a “free” battery at the 349 tag. All the companies have been doing this one way or the other. However, for an item like this, you’d expect a brushless motor at the MSRP.
Stuart
You’re talking about promotional pricing, which is completely different.

Wait it doesn’t even have a brushless motor? What new tools now days use motors with brushes? I know cheaper drills still do and even some of those $99 drill are brushless. So it’s crazy that this thing doesn’t use a brushless motor at that price. Yeah pumps are expensive, but I’m not even sure how effective this thing will be,nevermind the battery life will more than likely be extremely short.

This seems like a case of “well it’s going up anyway, might as well do it now”.
Dewalt and Milwaukee have both announced price increases to distributors, I’m sure most suppliers either have or aren’t far behind. Like in previous increases it won’t be across the board as they try to protect 2-piece kits etc. that get people into the platforms but round 1 is coming soon and round 2 will be in a few months. Some items will stay the same others will have very sharp increases. There’s a few specific examples I can share if there’s a specific post on price increases.
Not to say you need to go out and buy everything you could ever use, promotional activity will still be alive and well as both the manufacturers and distributors need to keep us buying.
Eric
Price increases have always worked like that. They’re quick to raise the prices and very hesitant to lower the prices. And depending on how much competition they have in their market they may not ever lower the price.

Dewalt should of made this with a brushless motor. Milwaukee’s transfer pump is brushed also and the motors constantly burn up with regular use. Would of though Dewalt would go for reliability and highest quality over a cheaper build cost just to save a few dollars. Especially at this price point. Makes me want to wait for an XR Brushless version or the price so low that I’d buy it. Unless I really need it I’ll wait.
