Dewalt has a non-XR 20V Max cordless power tool battery 3-pack priced at $129 right now.
It’s sold out at Amazon and Home Depot, but you can still find it at Acme Tools for this price.
This bundle comes with one each of a 6Ah battery, 4Ah battery, and 2Ah battery. In all, you get 12Ah of total charge capacity for $129, which comes down to $10.75 per amp-hour, which is a very good price.

A couple of retailers have great deal pricing on the Dewalt PowerStack 5Ah battery. This XR battery features pouch cells and delivers more power than their older-style 5Ah battery with 18650 cells.
Right now you can buy 1 for $99. For context, the 2-pack is $329.

And if you just need a bunch of batteries for all your lighter duty Dewalt cordless power tools and accessories, the older style non-XR 3Ah battery is $39 right now.
If you want to buy multiples, Acme has the 2-pack for $69, which drops the per-battery cost to $34.50 each.
This is a good price, and also puts the 3-pack I mentioned above into context. With this older battery size, the best deal you can get right now is $11.50 per amp-hour, while the variety pack above is priced even better. No wonder the 3-pack is sold out at most retailers (and likely won’t last long at Acme Tools either).

There was also a nice snafu at Lowe’s where they offered two 4ah compacts and a free tool for $99. Only to cancel the batteries from peoples orders and charge them full price for the “free” tool.

Acme matched it for a while there. I assume they honored it, but I can’t say.

Acme didn’t match it, they both just had the same pricing error. The 2x4Ah was on sale for $99 from last month’s promo/sales. And on May 1st a new promo started for “buy the 2x4Ah get a free tool”, but they never updated the pricing on the 2x4Ah. So it was overlapping sales/promos. Both caught it and have since changed the price. And some got their stuff, others did not.
Similar instance at Farm & Fleet with their $99 5Ah PowerStack plus free tool.

I was able to get that deal for pickup at my local(ish) store.
I already had all the free tools they were offering, but I figured $10/Ah is a great price for batteries, and for $20 I could use another trim router just so I don’t have to change bits. Or I can leave my other one in the plunge base.

Home Depot had a sale for a couple days with a 4a, 6a, and charger for $89 – I think it’s gone now but snagged two of those while it was live last week…
Stuart
I wonder if they were clearing out remnant holiday inventory from their free tools promo – https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/home-depot-free-cordless-power-tool-deals-2024/%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E
According to the product page, they currently have more than 9,300 in stock right now.

I picked one of those up. The included charger is a 4A charger. If you’re like me, and didn’t have a fast charger, that made it quite a steal!

Are there ever deals this good on Makita batteries? I’ve considered switching just the batteries for my 18v mix and match setup that is currently powered by 3rd party Makita batteries and adapters (the original 3ah Makita batteries were getting pretty weak).
I’d jump at any deal similar to this to get authentic batteries.
Stuart
I can’t say no, but they’re extremely rare.

I got a 3 pack of makita 4AH 18V batteries on clearance from HD a few months ago (January?) for around $99.
Check the HD clearance rack every trip.

If you have any local tool stores that cater to contractors, they might be worth a look and getting on their email list. They often seem to have better deals than HD, and for me at least are much more enjoyable to visit.

I’m waiting for some deals on the Dewalt 3.5Ah PowerStack. I don’t need them, but I’d like to have a couple of them just to try out.
MM
Same. I’m pretty well covered for Dewalt batteries so I don’t really need any more, but that would be the size I’m most interested in at the moment. It seems I’m using 1.7 & 5ah powerstacks more than anything else these days and that would split the difference nicely.
But if I spot a deal, or perhaps a combo with a tool I could use I might jump on it.

Home Depot has had a river of a DeWalt battery deals lately. These aren’t even the best offers they’ve had. As mentioned above, there was a 6A + 4A + 4A rapid charger for $89.
I also spotted a 3Ah battery (the 21700 cell version) on flash sale for $29 last weekend.
There have been some other deals too, at retailers beyond just HD, but those both dipped below the “magic” $10/Ah threshold.
As someone in the DeWalt 20V system, I cannot recall a time when there were so many battery-only deals so thick on the ground. It’s actually perplexing me.

Pretty good may the 4th deals on lasers at acme tools
Stuart
Be sure to price shop.
Bosch 100′ laser distance measurer:
Acme – $49 minus $10 with coupon
Amazon – $40 since the start of the month
Chris
If I was in the market for a laser I sure would. I just saw it, thought it was funny because Star Wars day, pew pew lasers. Thought it would be fun to share 🙂
Stuart
It is cute! But the “save up to 52%” part raised an eyebrow.

Careful on the dewalt 5Ah powerstack batteries. both Lowes and HD had the $99/battery sale recently and went to pick some up and they were very old. Pre-XR branding and dates on the batteries said 2022/2023. I passed until I found a HD with newer stock and the XR branding with 2024 dates. Pretty sure the sale on these is to clear out old inventory when they first came out and were crazy expensive. I saw posts on reddit claiming these old batteries give up the ghost pretty quick.
