You might have noticed the new Dewalt ads we’ve got up, promoting their new FlexVolt tools and accessories.
As part of the ad arrangement, I threw in the idea that ToolGuyd would host a giveaway, and that ToolGuyd would pay for the prize.
I normally don’t like bundling sponsored giveaways into advertisement arrangements, but here is what I was thinking at the time:
Ooh, I could put the ad revenue towards a reader FlexVolt giveaway that I’d been wishing we had the funds for!
And if we foot the bill, then it’s not a sponsored giveaway.
Sponsored giveaways allow us to give away more tools than we could otherwise budget for, but there’s something different about ToolGuyd-paid-for giveaways. I don’t know, they’re warmer?
REMINDER: Dewalt $25 off $100+ Promo Ends 12/22/2016! || Also at Acme
Maybe I just like being more personally responsible for the “OMG LOOK WHAT I WON!” feeling that ties into winning a giveaway.

This is the ad, or rather a copy of it. I’m sure you’ve seen it – or will see it now – unless you have an ad blocker.
The ad leads to a FlexVolt microsite that Dewalt put together. Check it out by clicking any of the ads, or the image just above, or just see our summary:
Dewalt’s FlexVolt branding applies to 3 types of products:
- A new battery that powers 20V Max, 60V Max, and 120V Max tools
- New 60V Max and 120V Max cordless power tools
- “High efficiency accessories engineered to maximize runtime in cordless tools”
Keep in mind that FlexVolt batteries are larger than compact and high capacity batteries. They’ll fit in place of a 2.0Ah or 5.0Ah battery, but with added size and weight.
And it’s not just 1 battery. Right now there’s a 6.0Ah battery out, and a 9.0Ah battery pack is on the way.
FlexVolt batteries are 20V Max by default, and switch to 60V Max when connected to 60V or 120V Max power tools.
I like the Dewalt FlexVolt cordless power tools, the batteries, and the accessories – I’ve mainly just used the saw blades so far – are working great too.
The microsite also shows a number of FlexVolt vs. Milwaukee M18 comparisons. I don’t remember seeing these before, so they’re all new to me. What’s interesting is that the comparisons are all made with the Dewalt tools equipped with the new 9.0Ah battery pack, and the Milwaukee tools equipped with their recent 9.0Ah HD battery pack.
Previously, Milwaukee’s microsite had compared their M18 9.0Ah battery to Dewalt’s 6.0Ah, to show competitive advantage. So I guess it’s only fair for Dewalt to pick out some FlexVolt tool with 9.0Ah vs. M18 tool with 9.0Ah comparisons in return.
Sorry, I digressed!

Have you had the chance to try any of Dewalt’s FlexVolt tools yet? Well, they’re EXCELLENT. From the 60V Max brushless circular saw, to the hybrid 120V Max sliding miter saw that also comes with an AC adapter.
Our verdict’s still out on the Portable Power Station, and whether it powers corded tools as well as an AC outlet, but it’s still very incredibly handy for using corded tools away from a traditional power source.
Yea, so let’s do a giveaway!!
What Can You Win?
A Dewalt FlexVolt tool or kit of your choosing, valued up to $700.
FlexVolt Options(via Amazon – take a look to see which one you might want to win)
If your pick is something that’s not available yet, you’re going to have to wait for it.
The winner can choose a different FlexVolt tool if they change their mind.
I really like the new FlexVolt cordless power tools, with the circular saw, sliding miter saw, and portable power station being my top 3 picks.
The batteries are really handy too – I’ve been using them with a 20V Max blower and a 20V Max vac. Longer runtime is nice, and the added size and weight isn’t an issue with these and certain other tools.
I guess the 20V Max with FlexVolt battery kits, such as this brushless impact driver and hammer drill kit, are fair game too.
Who’s Paying for the Tools/Prizes?
We are! ToolGuyd will be buying the prizes.
Why? Well, why not? I love doing giveaways and reader givebacks. Nothing quite beats the feeling of getting a prize in the mail, especially tools.
I feel like we’ve been due for another major give-back.
Brand-sponsored giveaways are nice, but I feel differently when ToolGuyd foots the bill. I’m happy to have ToolGuyd-sponsored giveaways. Well, until my credit card bill comes in.

Dewalt FlexVolt Q&A – Everything You’ve Asked About, and More
Dewalt FlexVolt vs. Milwaukee M18 High Demand, Which is Better?
Ben
If I won, I’d pick the miter saw. I’m a hobby woodworker and perfect, dead-accurate cuts are super important to me. My current miter saw started making wobbly cuts and the mfgr ignored my requests for a warranty replacement, so I’ve turned to doing my crosscuts on the table saw instead. The miter saw is so much more convenient, though, and I can permanently keep a rip blade in the table saw if I have a miter saw I can trust for accuracy.
Steve Galvan
I agree with Ben. My miter saw has seen better days. I like to ides of no cord. I have a dewalt miter saw stand that is the prefect for it.
Pat Bryant
As an electrician I would choose the 1/2″ vsr stud and joist drill. It would be great for rough-ins.
Don Fannon
Hi. New to the blog after note from my son. I’d go with the miter saw. More and more I’m into smaller projects with lots of detail.
Nice work here. I plan to start following you weekly.
Happy new year, everyone!
Hugo Matute
If i win i would like to have the miter saw because I recently have a proyect and I like working with woog but I only have a small circular saw which stopped me from doing bigger proyects. Wood is my passion. Thank you.
Andrew
Well, this is a no-brainer for me. I’d take either the table saw or … the miter saw. And it’s not out of vanity; it’s out of necessity. My “shop,” as currently constructed, is wedged underneath a staircase on a second-story patio in the middle of Downtown Milwaukee. And while I can find ways to make-do with the elements (just installed some GP ForceField OSB with built in house wrap) to keep the rain (snow) out, the biggest obstacle I face is trying to work with just two (2) power outlets available, both of which are on the same circuit as my bedroom, hallway, and living room. So, if I want to run my table saw, miter saw or planer along my shop vac … and the “CEO” decides to turn on the lights, TV or whatever else … poof. Done. Time to dig through the utility closet and flip the switch.
Admittedly, I was long hestitant to jump on the DeWalt train. Maybe it’s just because I’m from Milwaukee, but I never saw the appeal in yellow. BUT … then I read (here) about the FlexVolt line, realized my current limitations and started to think more and more that it might be perfect for my needs.
And to top it off, I watched Jimmy DiResta use the FlexVOlt set to build a mini bridge out in the middle of nowhere on his property and I was sold.
After spending two years getting to know my tools and how to use them, I’m about to tackle my biggest project yet: completely rebuilding the staircase leading up to my deck. I’m holding out hope that Santa brings me the M18 miter but that table saw would go a long, long way to helping me cut down on fuse blows.
vaughn atwood
cordless 12” Miter Saw bilding boats
Phi Nguyen
I’d definitely want the Miter Saw!
I’d finally finish the garage that has been neglected…
Tim Carpenter
I volunteer my free time to building dog houses for dogs who are forced to live outdoors without shelter. Here in Texas, that means both oven and icebox extremes. I also repair fences for dog owners who cannot afford to. There are few things more heartbreaking than a family fur-member finding a hole in the fence and getting hit by a car. The portability and performance of the 12″ sliding miter saw would be gratefully accepted!
Andrew
Tim, as the human of a pit bull who was forced to live outside, let me just say you’re a damn good person. I like the idea of volunteer fence repairs. I’ve been looking for a way to hook up with my local rescue and that might be a perfect fit.
John S
Oh man, a fully functioning cordless 12” Miter Saw would be an amazing addition to the arsenal! It would sure help me get back to work on making the headboard for our Queen size bed. This is a great giveaway, Stuart!
John F.
Definitely the sliding compound miter saw! Love the fact that you can run it corded or cordless!
Dylan Honeycutt
Very generous giveaway. I would go with the compound sliding miter saw. I own a Dewalt compound miter saw today that does not slide, but it’s a great tool I use frequently. Were I to win, I’d use it in my various hobbyist projects which typically involve building furniture or outdoor structures. Great blog, very useful!
Joe D
VSR Stud and joist drill… so I don’t burn out anymore of my 18v drills.
Sam
Well the 12” Miter Saw would be sweet to build the deck I have been talking about for 3 years.
Thom
The Brushless 7-1/4″ Circular Saw, DCS575 would sure help me with this springs project list of rebuilding the back deck and building a wooden playset for the grandkids!
Marc B.
Got to go with the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw too. We have a remote campground, and it would be very beneficial for all the projects we find to do there.
tcmault
Table saw so I could rip windows sills to the correct width on my remodel.
Matt K
I would want the Circular Saw with 2 Batteries. I would use this for the 2 projects I have coming up, or in other words keep putting off. Rebuilding the front deck on my house and knocking down and replacing a load bearing wall in the garage to open up more shop space.
Dennis
I’d want to win the Double Bevel Compound Miter Saw Kit. Which I would mostly use for trim work.
I think giveaways are great, and I have absolutely no problem with them being tied to ads, everything on the internet is tied to ads.
Tibor
I could definitely use the miter saw … planning to build a backyard office next year and it would come very handy.
Btw, excellent site Stuart, just discovered it this holiday season and already bought a few tools based on your recommendation 🙂
Anton
The table saw. Paired with a smaller grinder or the planer if such a kit exists.
It should help me get around to the custom storage Ive been meaning to build around the house including a bed frame with drawers. Our house is 1000 sq ft and we have 4 people living here for at least 12 more years so every inch matters.
Christopher Torres
I’d definitely go with the sliding miter and get back into woodworking by starting with a new bed frame and obviously new scratching posts for the cats.
kcalhoun27
the miter saw, and id give it to my dad. he is a contractor, and his miter is at least 8 years old, but dewalt makes great tools, so he wont be replacing it anytime soon, on his own.
Tim
The stud drill. I’m an electrician and this would be awesome to have in the van.
Randy Harper
Stuart,
What an awesome way to promote the site! I would love the flex volt sliding miter saw, battery and cord performance is awesome, wishare lot other other high power tools had the flexibility of this. I would use it for installing hardwood flooring in my bonus room along with the stairs, flooring some additional attic space and a deck off my kitchen. Lots to do!
Andy Buboltz
I’m a huge DeWalt fan and these new FLEXVOLT tools are making my mouth water!
I would be all over the drill/impact driver combo. I currently have a DeWalt 18v impact driver and drill but the batteries are struggling and the tools have seen better days. I just can’t get myself to spend the money on new batteries when I should really upgrade to 20v.
Keep it up Tool Guyd, I love the content!
Andy Buboltz
I take that back! I just realized that there was a double bevel compound sliding version of the miter saw! Fingers crossed!
Joshua Gilmour
I would love to win the 12″ sliding compound mitre saw. As for what I would use it for… well i would say that is obvious. EVERYTHING. My wife makes bread… bread meet saw! Joking but seriously anything I do with wood would most likely make use of that saw. I do work with junk pallet wood for tool boxes with the kids and also making hunting stands with my dad. This would make everything better. If not I would love a good quality circular saw.
Steve D.
Miter saw, for most trim out job’s. Also working out in the boonies where there is no power.
Bremon
What a great giveaway! The 790 mitre saw is easily my choice; I have a number of projects to use it on from basement developments to deck building. Since I currently don’t have a mitre saw at all it’s one of the few kits out there that wouldn’t be supplementary or replacing an existing tool in my collection.
Ric
Thank you! This will really make someone’s holiday!!
This year was the perfect time to make the switch to Yellow. I have a couple FV tools (circular, recip) plus the drill/driver kit and I’ve been watching and waiting for the upcoming OPE line.
If it’s allowed, I would wait until Spring for the chainsaw. My next FV purchase is likely to be the PowerStation, so that’d be #2 on my list if an option. Third would be to replace my aging miter saw. So many options!!
What a great giveaway, Stuart. It’s like dreaming about winning the lottery 🙂
Eric
I’m hoping they release a good 1/2″ Impact wrench. It would go everywhere I go. My second choice would be the upcoming rotary hammer. That thing should be every bit as good as corded.
Neale
The table saw would be a great addition for me. Starting my own business at the start of 2017 and trying to source all my tools and get myself sorted out, this would help massively!
Eric
I would chose the 12″ Fixed Head Compound Miter Saw, DHS716. This saw is lighter than the slider and has plenty of capacity for most uses.
I need to finish my girls’ tree house/playset and this would certainly give me the motivation required and speed the job up. I also would like to built a large shed/workshop soon which this tool would come in handy for.
Greg
Damn that sliding Miter!! I’d give my current dewalt miter to my daughter (we make furniture together) and make the rest of the family jealous with that rig.
Awn Al-Marzouq
Miter Saw DHS790!
Will be used for some improvement at home.
James C
I’d say the table saw. My family recently started a business and this winter I’ll be finishing out the tasting room. The table saw would be great for ripping reclaimed wood to do a really cool facade on the bar!
Alan
The table saw is the apple of my eye. I currently do not have a table saw and am trying to tackle more and more household projects myself. I want to install crown moulding this spring and would use the table saw to rip 2X4’s for furring strips. I do a lot of ripping of plywood as well.
Travis
Sliding compound miter saw. I could finally get the honey do list done, like the fence, deck, stairs, railing, new door, remodel kitchen, and on and on…
Justin
I actually just bought the DWS779 saw, but the Flex Volt miter saw has had my eye this whole holiday season. I’m just a DIY guy, so I couldn’t justify the cost (especially after waiting around and missing the black friday pricing). I’d definitely want that one, and use that as the excuse to get more into the rest of the tool line
Sean
The 120v saw with cord option has my interest along with the blower and chainsaw
Thanks for doing what you do. I had a real hard time finding Black Friday deals and being confident about the actual deals until I ran across your site. I used he heck out of the $25 off $100 Amazon deal and landed my self top of the line brushless drills to replace my Ryobi stuff. I’m glad I found your site this year. You helped me blow > $1000 on my self and Dewalt tools this year.
I use them to work on our trucks LORENZindustries.com and our Kawasaki’s and to help build archery stuff for the family so far. True blower would have a permanent spot in the race trailer.
Harrolldean
The table saw or miter saw would be great. I occasionally do projects around town where I need these 2 items and often times we are flipping a house that doesn’t have power so we have to bring in a generator. Having battery power would be incredible!
kyle
DEWALT DHS790AT2 – I’m getting ready to tear into our basement and have been lacking a significant tool in the tool chest. This piece would help me handle the renovation that my man cave so desperately needs.
Brian Piesik
I would have to say the table saw, DEWALT DCS7485T1 FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Table Saw Kit, 8-1/4. I am a beginning wood worker and my next purchase is going to be a table saw. I have an child that is on the autistic spectrum and my goals is to build a loft bed for her with a sensory area underneath for her to use.
Steve
I feel like I might be cheating myself by not getting one of the more expensive options that everyone else has requested, but I’d use the Brushless 7-1/4″ Circular Saw, DCS575, WAY more. I seem to find a way to use a circular saw in almost every project I get myself into! Maybe ToolGuyd would kick in an extra battery if one of us more frugal readers win?
Stuart
I haven’t made up my mind about that. Battery 2-packs have been in short supply.
Maybe a Tough System radio would accompany one of the smaller kits. Or something else. Will have to think about it.
David C.
The Dewalt DHS790AT2 Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit would be awesome to have. It would be great to have a nice 12″ sliding miter as I am getting more into fine woodworking. My wife is also bugging me to install crown and chair molding all over the house. It would be also great not having to be tied to just a cord or battery.
Thank you Stewart for hosting another giveaway for your readers.
Big Adam
I’m going to buck the trend and plump for the Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo.
Why? Well firstly I’m in the UK (with a US address) and most of the dedicated 60V / 120V stuff would be a little wasteful for me. But mainly, my 20V/18V kit started out with a hammer drill and an impact driver and slowly expanded. That original kit is still running but now needs to be upgraded and moved on.
Getting the 60V battery would be a bonus for me.
Jonathan Brown
I would take the sliding miter saw. I live in a rural area and always get talked into helping friends build their pole barns… in the middle of a field, with no electricity. I helped with two last year and I already have someone in line for summer of 2017.
Dylan Gray
I would choose the dewalt flexvolt mitersaw, as my corded dewalt miter saw packed up last week, it would be the perfect replacement, making life a lot easier on site and in the workshop
Tyler
I would have to say the 12″ sliding compound miter saw, for just the ease of setup and use. I’m typically doing trim carpentry and in reno’s or new construction and one of the most common problems I run into is a power source (especially when the electricians have yet to get all the outlets live). And besides that moving the setup from room to room or even outside for siding work or decking without having the hassle of running cords would be be highly beneficial.
Austin
For me the DHS790, working in the remodeling field I’d definitely have a use for this on several various jobs where power is scarce.
Joel Harper
Stuart,
Yes, it means more to me to have you sponsor the give away. It’s a nice way to give back to your community of readers. I would choose the sliding miter saw kit. I love the fact that it can be powered by battery or AC. I have been promising my mom that I would create a finished space in her basement. Nothing fancy. Just a neater area for extra storage. The miter saw would definitely come in handy for that project.
Thanks,
Joel
Aaron
Whoa, Dewalt 60v table saw or 120v miter saw… tough choice! 12″ sliding miter would probably get more use fixing up my 100+ year old home and building sets for low budget films and music videos.
Strohm
I would get the sliding compound miter saw because the miter saw I have is a hand me down with frayed cord that only works once in a while and is VERY loud (I share a basement with my upstairs neighbor, who has a new born, so the fact that it is cordless means I can take it outside and not be underneath the babys room).
David
The sliding miter saw hybrid (DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT) – it would be perfect to take with me for helping friends on their projects, and it provides a nice entry into the entire system. Flexvolt seems like a compelling setup for tools that really need power, and I like the hybrid approach for times when portability isn’t required.
I also have family members who want my help building some walls and other remodeling work. Simply packing up the saw and using it from the back of my Subaru sounds really handy!
Str Alorman
I’d love the flexvolt miter saw!
I’m pretty heavily invested in DeWalt 18v XRP and have been looking for an excuse to move to the more modern batteries (although the XRP stuff really does hold up well).
Home owning is also in my (hopefully!) imminent future. What better tool to have than a miter saw? Moldings! Flooring! I can hit the rest of it with my cordless circular or cordless jigsaw.
This would be perfect, I also love how I could plug it in and then use the batteries for other tools, as needed!
May the batteries be ever in our favor!
Str Alorman
That was the sliding miter setup! sorry!
Josh Hutton
I would love the flex volt grinder and radio for my job as a welder fitter
Wayne Truong
I would like the 8-1/4″ Cordless Table Saw, DCS7485. This would help me build an outdoor kitchen in addition to new shelves in the pantry and bathrooms. This would be my first saw. I have been borrowing equipment and haven’t broken down and purchased any for myself. I think it would be the most useful starter piece in my new hobby in building things. Ideally, it would be a track saw, but this is the next best thing.
Michael
I’d have to go with the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw. I’m 25 and working through a electrical apprenticeship. This would definitely help with all the side and odd jobs I do & most definitely with the additions and Reno’s around the house. although the hammer drill and impact would be a nice upgrade for my day to day use anyway good luck everyone
Neil
I would love to win the DCS7485! It would help immensely in my business, not to mention my constant remodels around the house.
Granger
Oh, I definitely would go for the 12 inch sliding miter saw. While I have a DeWalt 10 inch, the 12 would be a good excuse to hand down the 10 inch to my oldest.
Jasper karr
HANDS DOWN – THE GREATEST GIVEAWAY IN THE WORLD!!! I would have to go for the table saw… i’ve been ripping 8 foot pieces of door trim with my m12 circular and jig saw – i ‘ve never used so much caulking in my life…
Jordan Czajka
I definitely want the Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit. It would be a huge help in finishing up all the molding, trim, and floors on all 3 floors of my house. I only have a cheap table saw that is a pain to lug outside and set up, the miter saw would be the way to go!
steve
table saw or miter saw absolutely! Both would help me with my upcoming home renovations!
Ken S
Oh man, great giveaway! I’d have to go with either the table saw or sliding miter saw…as both of my current hand-me-down saws are on their last legs. I would use the new saw to build much needed radiator covers so my baby boy doesn’t burn himself once he starts crawling around. There’s also a closet rebuild and storage bench that my wife has been craving. Oh, my sister has been begging for some custom built-ins around her fireplace, and my parents really need a new deck. The list goes on and on and on. Good luck out there!
Phil
I’d choose the simple hammer drill and impact driver to build a pergola for my mom. I sure owe her.
Norm
For me it would be the table saw or the sliding miter saw. Both are tools I’m missing from my home shop, and to add to the fact that it’s portable is a bonus. The sliding miter saw would be just as useful, if not more than table saw. I’ve counted the times I’ve needed to rip a board and it hasn’t justified me purchasing a table saw yet. On the other hand, I do have a miter saw (a cheap-o used one I got from craigslist. Tool Shop brand [Menards]), it just doesn’t slide, so to add that feature to my cuts rather than *GASP*, flipping the board over, would be nice. I’m currently in the middle of finishing my basement. Not sure how much wood work there is to do. Trim work for sure later. Drywall is the next step actually. So while neither of these tools would be specifically for that, in the near future, they will get some use!
Mike Lisac
The sliding miter saw is very appealing, but I use my drill and impact so much more, and they’re pretty long in the tooth. I would get the DEWALT DCK299D1T1 20V MAX FLEXVOLT Brushless Premium Hammer Drill and Impact Combo Kit. My old 18v DeWalts are still running, but not as strong as they once were, and I end up having to do A LOT of battery swaps because of the battery life. Aside from what seems like never-ending home projects and volunteer projects, I’m finally able to get my mancave/shop space project going. And yes, I may draw and plan, but I also build and redo because it’s my space.
Steve
The Miter saw DHS790 would come in real handy for the deck reno I am planning.
Campbell
The tablesaw, especially since I want to built some new cabinetry for a bathroom. Not to mention I just do not own a tablesaw.
Sam
The DHS790 would be great for making picture frames.
Steve G
Definitely the Sliding Compound Miter Saw. Of all of the tools offered, it is the only one I don’t have at least some (cheap) version of in my shop. I’d use it to build all of those projects my wife wants for our 5 month old.
Johnn
I’d definitely be angling for the table saw as it’s the main gap in my workshop. With the leftover money, I’d definitely want to upgrade my hammer drill, which is a basic Riyobi set right now.
I’ve already got a Dewalt Compound Mitre saw, so while a new one would be a good upgrade I’ve already got it covered.
That table saw would be a nice upgrade from the Kreg plywood rip fence that I’ve got now.
John glassey
The dual compound sliding 12″ miter saw has been on my wish list since I first heard it was being released. This saw would replace an old ryobi 10″ saw. Thank you for this giveaway it’s awesome.
firefly
The DHS790 Sliding Miter Saw would definitely be my first choice and the DCL070 Bluetooth Area Worklight would definitely be my second choice.
I am slowing redoing my garage. So the miter saw would definitely see it use there. I need to build a custom bed frame/rail at some point so that’s also on the list. The light would be use to impress my lady tiger and our friend when we host party :)))
rhyino
I’d select the compound miter saw to construct small wooden boxes.
Patrick T
I’d go with the Mitre saw or the Table saw. As a newish homeowner, of an old home, that rented for a long time, I’m at the point where I’m running into projects that a drill doesn’t cut it anymore. I have trim that I want to replace because it doesn’t match the rest of the house and was put up poorly. I’m also starting to think of gutting the kitchen.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Ryan
The sliding miter saw would be awesome! It will be perfect in my mobile workshop (converting an old camper) for power on the go!
Andy Vo
Slide miter saw. My last Dewalt corded one just gave up on me
Patrick
Honestly I think it’s awesome what you’re doing. I like the reviews and the deals have saved me so much money in the past year. That miter saw kit would be a great starter for me, I could use it to finally start that shed I’ve always wanted to build with my dad.
Jim
The miter saw would come in handy as I approach retirement and finally have time to build 120 ft of fence and back and front yard decks.
Mondo1310
The flexvolt miter would be great addition for my summer shed project and habitat for humanity volunteering as well. Love the flexibility of going cordless for new house volunteering and corded on repairs with homes with existing power.
Chris H
I definitely want the DHS790 miter saw!
Would be so handy to have one that doesnt require a power cord so I can work literally anywhere in my yard without having to worry about extension cords or walking back and forth to the saw.
Jerome
I would want the DEWALT DHS790AT2 to build a little tree house for my 3 years old daughter. It would be super handy to use on site without worrying about the very long cord.
Michelle
Definitely a track saw for rough cutting before going to the table saw. We have so many diy home projects going on, it would make things that much easier.
Matt
The compound miter saw would be a huge help with putting up the crown molding in my kitchen!
Mike
I want the miter saw, it just looks really freaking awesome!
In reality though I could use the table saw for some projects around the house and some flexvolt batteries for the many dewalt 20v tools I already have and use all the time.
Adabhael
Although the table saw is tempting, how can I resist Stuart’s assessment of the DHS790AT2—”The saw is pricey, but it’s also the best miter saw I’ve ever used”—particularly when a giveaway obviates the price?! As a DIY user I have not been able to justify the switch yet, but the logic is inescapable, since I do about half my woodworking and construction at our family tree farm with no grid connection. One tool that works at home, off the generator, or off batteries would be amazing.
Like others, I love the giveaway and have no objections to the ad-tie: as Dennis said, that is how the internet works, and this site is more forthright and thoughtful about the connection between readers, ads, and revenue than any other I regularly use. Thanks for doing this!
Mike H
I work w/Habitat For Humanity who will acquire a vacant/foreclosed home, tear it down to the studs and rebuild it for a qualified family in need. Fooling with generators, air compressors and all the associated cords and hoses is, as I’m sure all of you know, a PITA. Since I’d be starting from zero, any FlexVolt tool would be welcome but if I had to put them in order of need/usefulness, I’d say #1 Circular, #2 Recip, #3 Miter and #4 Table Saw. I’ve been reading reviews, specs, watching YouTube videos trying to decide whether to go team Yellow, Red, etc. Winning this promotion would tip the scales for me. And, my “OMG LOOK WHAT I WON!” face will not disappoint.
Brad Copeland
Would love to have “DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery”. Looks like an awesome system.
David Ko
12 sliding miter saw would be my choice, which would make quick work of all long lumber I salvage, thanks!
Matt
That tablesaw would be a sweet upgrade over my 26″ Disston rip saw. I might miss the exercise, but the time and arm saving would be worth it.
Thanks for setting this up, Stuart, and have a great Christmas and New Year!
Ningwut
Wow. So tough to choose which of these I’d pick up.
I’m kind of 20Max super fan- have most of their line so far.
When Home Depot was running their buy a flexvolt tool get a free battery, Dewalt did an in-store promo that threw in the DCD996. Great deal. Anyway- point is, I chose the circular saw and it has some GRUNT. I love the 20V max circ, but the flexvolt is incredibly more powerful.
I am extremely excited about the releases in 2017. Can’t wait for the flexvolt lawn/garden stuff and still hoping to see the 20V brad/pin nailers that I have to believe are coming.
For the giveaway I would be interested in the double bevel compound miter saw. A very close second is the power station. What a great idea.
I use all my 20V stuff in housing remodels and anticipate purchasing a cabin or land with a cabin in the coming year or two and the freedom that battery-powered tools give would be priceless out in the bush. Even at jobsites, I love not having cords and hoses strung all over creating trip hazards. So glad that dewalt has found the way to do all this with batteries. (remember the old NiCad 18 stuff? you could saw for just a few passes before you were done)
Mike
The DHS790AT2 miter saw – maybe then I can finish the bunk beds, my workshop shelving, the trim in the family room, crown molding on my Ikea-hacked wall units…
Tony Landin
First thank you for doing this giveaway. I am ok with the sponcered adds and I agree a giveaway means more when you give it away. I am most interested in the 790 mitersaw. With its dual bevel and sliding features it would most benefit me in doing fence and decks. I like that it has an adapter that can be plugged into an outlet as well.
Brian
The Sliding Compound Miter Saw would be my choice. I don’t have a Miter Saw and we just bought a new house with an unfinished basement. A miter saw would really come in handy to get the basement finished!
Drew M.
Either the table saw or miter saw. I’d use it to build furniture, as well as maybe help my dad put a fence around his property, where power outlets may be hard to find. however, the portable power station looks like it could help with this option, and be more versatile overall since I could use other corded tools in the field as well.
Austin
First off I have to say I love your site and things you put up and thanks for the opportunity. I would love to get the miter box. I work for a company that provides a lot of the tools but my goal in the next couple years is to start my own business. To do that o am going to need my own miter box. Starting my own business is something I have wanted to do for a while now and this would make it a little easier to do. Plus I could use it on the side work I have until I completely go out on my own.
Thanks
shade b
i would absolutely love to win the miter saw, i have an upcoming project(an add on for my shed) and in the spring i have plans to make a few large raised planters
Alvin
I would definitely use the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790 to build a garbage shed to keep the raccoons out!
Chris
Wow a portable table saw sure would be nice to keep all that saw dust out of the house and it would provide the flexibility to move it near the project site/area.
Always doing volunteer work at the ball field and this would be great to for deck repairs, dugout roofing, snack bar shelving etc …
Nathan
I would choose the Flexvolt sliding compound mitre saw. I have 2 reasons why – 1 I need a new mitre saw as mine got damaged in the move to the new house.
I will use it when I make my new fence for the new house and more than likely this summer if things work out it would be used to make the new shed for the new house.
If I had a second choice I would choose the power station FYI.
Thank you
Ralf
Stuart,
I’ve got to say this is why I love this site. Instead of doing what almost every site would do, you’re taking the ad revenue and giving it right back to your readers. Awesome! It’s quite commendable in this day.
As a homeowner/diy’er rebuilding our house I could use just about any tool so dealer’s choice (obviously the table saw or miter would be awesome but every bit helps).
Dave
I’d wouldn’t mind having the circular saw; my old Dewalt cordless isnt cutting it….. and i need a Jig saw (old one broke). I need to build a deck in the spring so any upgrades to my current 18 v tool set is a plus.
Amy
Dear Tool Santa,
Please award me the sliding miter saw for Christmas so I can give it to my husband and get out of performing my widely duties for a few weeks at least.
John C.
I love the way you are doing this giveaway. Like you said it is more personable for you and the winner gets their choice. How could it be any better?
I would like the 12″ sliding miter saw to replace my old 10″ Skil non sliding miter saw. Having the cordless option would allow me to take it outside to use when weather permits. I have a couple outside projects lined up for next spring that this would be ideal for.
Thanks for being so generous.
Danny K
Toolguyd quickly becomes my daily must-read site. Sometimes, multiple times a day. Keep up the great work! I would love the 12″ sliding miter saw. Just bought a house to fit my growing family, 3 years old boy and 9 mos old daughter. Will use the miter saw to remodel the interiors, new flooring, new doors, new trims. I like the cordless option because in my opinion it is safer for household with children. You can lock up the batteries and make dangerous power tool like miter saw, table saw inoperable. Of course, you can lock the garage/shop, but hey, every once in a while, you may forget to lock a door, right? It’s nice to have a peace of mind. Thank you.
Steve
Wow, this is great. I visit this site daily for the deals and especially the comments from actual users or contractors in the business.
I am laying flooring in our family room and the sliding miter saw would make things much easier.
Thanks for doing this and good luck everyone!!!
Milo
The compound sliding miter saw would be the choice. It allows such flexibility with not only the double battery pack, but also the being able to use wall a/c adapter. Benefit of the capacity for batteries on 20v tools is huge. Circular saw could be a game changer…as some 18v can seem underpowered. A 12″ slider allows the ability to cut so much.
Gearhead
That Dhs790 miter saw looks sweet and I would love to win one.
John
The DHS716 Fixed Miter saw would be perfect for my home renovations. Thanks for putting this giveaway on and for the site in general.
rman
This contest would help me out because I’m in need of a cordless table saw while building a off grid retirement home. I have a cordless Milwaukee mitre saw but they do not make a table saw. The dewalt 60 volt table saw would be a great addition and make it a lot easier with the construction. There will be no power at the site and no generators allowed. I will have a voltage converter in my truck to power battery rechargers as needed. I’m hoping that the new 60/20 volt battery will hold a long charge during the days use and recharge on the drive back in my truck.
Mark shelton
I think I would give the miter saw a try. Battery powered seems to be the new thing. I would use it as my mobile saw for out of shop work.
Tom
The miter saw would definitely be my top pick!
I just bought my first house and it’s a real fixer-upper. There are many projects that it would be useful for, like installing new hardwood flooring, building a deck, complete bathroom remodels and all of the furniture that I have plans to build to fill it up.
Congrats to the winner.
Jon
I would definitely go for the miter saw. The AC/DC versatility would be extremely handy at work and at home…no cords for the kiddos to trip over at home and setup versatility at work. I would use it for molding and framing construction, especially a nice big deck addition.
MDJ
I could totally use the DHS790AT2 miter saw, as the wife and I are about to redo all of the flooring the house, and currently lack any variety of miter or table saw for the flooring and trim we are replacing.
Big Guy Elijah
the table saw would be amazing addition to the Arsenal of tools devoted to the never ending “honey do” list!! the list has no end in the near future and im wearing out my tools. i would be in heaven with the miter saw as well…seeing as how mine is on the way out to toolbox heaven.
Good Luck gentleman…thanks for the opportunity to enter for a chance to take home an amazing tool!
Bryan
DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery.
And the first large project I would probably use it for is a large shed build I wish to do in my back yard this spring / summer. I desperately need some work and storage space. This would be perfect for helpng me out.
Sergey
I’d love to have the Dewalt cordless table saw, it’s much easier to lug around if I need it outside than my corded DW735.
I also hope that the DC motor in the cordless saw is much quieter, then I’ll be able to use it after my son falls asleep without risking waking him in the middle of a cut.
What would I use it for? Mostly rip cuts of smaller stock for furniture building. It will also allow me to keep the dado stack mounted on the big table saw 24/7.
Brandon
I’ve been visiting the site almost daily for over a year. Tough to say what I would choose, probably the sliding miter saw or table saw. Might also chose some of the smaller hand tools to replace my 18V Dewalt cordless tools. Working on finishing the basement, then will move on to redoing the master bedroom closet and upgrading the garage.
rmkilc
I would have to say the DHS790AT2 miter saw. It is one of the tools I don’t have yet, and would definitely get used.
Justin
That circular saw has been on my radar for a bit now. I work as a project manager/superintendent for a residential contractor and am always needing to do a bit of work outside the scope of our subs. Dragging out extension cords to make *adjustments* when there isn’t even temporary power on the site is a huge headache. DeWalt tools have been great to me so far for my home shop and I would love to drag them with me daily as well.
Alex
It would definitely be the DEWALT DHS790AT2 due to the fact that I’ve been delaying a crown molding installation project in my home for a couple of months now. (whole house from scratch)
The lack of a compound Miter saw being the main reason for said delay.
And hey, having this tool would allow me to continue woodworking during a blackout! how cool is that? 🙂
Mark Matthews
Definitely the DHS790 sliding miter saw – the robotics team I mentor is using my old one to cut aluminum extrusion in their shop, it’d be nice to not have to lug it back and forth when I have a need to cut something here at the house!
Will
Without a doubt the flexvolt sliding miter saw kit. I have limited space in my home so my shop is in my yard shed. At the moment it doesn’t have ac power so the need for a cordless miter saw is at or near the top.
The power source would be just as useful but I do plan on running power to my shed so the miter saw with the ac adapter would be an amazing addition to my setup.
I like to build my own furniture so a cordless 60v orbital sander would be great a great addition as well , but as far as I know the do not plan on bringing one out.
With that said I have mostly every cordless tool I need but the miter saw would be a huge addition for when I build a new deck for my home and some benches for my shop.
Matt
First, thank you for hosting the giveaway. It’s certainly a generous way to look at taking on an advertisement.
I would pick the table saw, without a doubt. I don’t have a garage and My “shop” is a small shed attached to my house that’s approximately 10-15. It has electricity but no heat (it gets chilly out there). Right now I’m ripping boards the old fashion way (circular saw, a straight edge, and clamps). To have a cordless table saw that I can use for ripping boards, making dado’s rabbits, and countless other items would unlock so many possibilities as well as keep things portable enough for me to do the projects I’m working on wherever it’s most convieniet. I’m a DIYer fixing up a 1955 home that hasn’t been updated since the 70’s. A fun project, but one made difficult without the right tools.
The first project id do is re-build he kitchen pinsuela the previous homeowners tore out “because it fit two stools and we had 3 kids”. My wife is dying for the counter space, with this saw, I’ll be able to build it.
C. Heller
DHS790AT2 Miter Saw to add to my shop collection for various DIY projects & gifts. As well as projects around the house that need to be done (new fence, new flooring, etc., etc.
Thanks!
Bill Meekins
It has to be the table saw! I wouldn’t use it though, I would keep it right next to my bed so I can say “goodnight” to it every night!.
Jimboslice
Wow very generous of you dude! At first I wasn’t optimistic about flex volt, I sold what I had in dewalt and affirmed myself in the m18 line, I had half and half but went all in red, I didn’t want to have to buy more batteries to use a brushless circular saw or to have a better recip saw, so I wasn’t happy and maybe was a little rash but I don’t regret it. Now with their smaller portable tools I still think they should have stayed with 20v but their bigger stationary tools and even the stud drill the battery makes sense and is proven. The tools are nice quality and really do replace a cord rather than supplementing it. So the obvious choice for me would be the miter saw.
MPG
I would love to have the FLEXVOLT Stud Joist Drill Kit and whatever else to reach $700. I would be able to use this to finish out the attic above my garage for running new conduit for lights and also for pex lines.
MPG
I would love to have the FLEXVOLT Stud Joist Drill Kit and whatever else to reach $700. I would be able to use this to finish out the attic above my garage for running new conduit for lights and also for pex lines!
Patrick Campbell
Thanks so much for this site. I don’t reply to your posts but I want you to know that I do check your website almost daily for the reviews. It’s one of the few go-to site that I regularly check. Thanks for this great offer! I am just about to start my basement remodel and would love to update my old (but still working) Dewalt cordless drill set with their newer MAX FLEXVOLT Brushless Premium Hammer Drill and Impact Combo Kit. I can then hand down my current cordless to my wee lad as a way to get him to help with the project.
Brian Hamman
I would love the miter saw!!! It would be soo awesome not to have to worry about an extension cord that people are always tripping over and would work awesome next to my x carve system when it arrives!!
John Blair
For me, I would use the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790. I’ve been thinking about getting one. My current Dewalt 12inch Miter Saw is old enough to drive and the runout has gotten progressively worse in the last year.
I am currently building an entertainment center for my wife (of course I’ve been at 90% done for a month) and doing home improvements for my father who, while having a kidney with cancer removed had a heart attack. He was hospitalized from just before Thanksgiving until today actually. He needs all the doorways in his house widened, his bathroom redone so he can get a walker / wheel chair inside.
The battery operated nature would be very handy for transporting between locations (my house and his house) and using while I have the electricity shut off (since switches are always beside the doorways that need widening).
Tator
I would love to try the dewalt 60v version of the hole hang. I have the Milwaukee super hawg with the 9.0 batteries and would love to compare the 2. Thanks stuart
Jeff W
The DCS7485T1 Table Saw would be great for some various shiplap projects my wife wants done to decorate the house.
The flexibility to move the workstation out of the garage is an added bonus.
Thank you for all the research – it was helpful making a Black Friday cordless set purchase!
Kurt
12″ sliding miter saw (DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT) all the way!
I am setting up a fabrication shop for my architecture firm to do custom casework and furniture prototyping, this is a huge piece of gear still on the “must get” list!
Chris Mills
I’d actually go for the 60V recip saw. I’m not on the move enough to justify a cordless miter saw, but I see a big gap between my current corded recip saw and my 20V Porter-Cable recip saw.
The corded obviously has enough power for everything like extended demo, pallet demolishing and general shop use, but at the cost of dragging a 100-foot extension everywhere. The PC is good for limited use cutting pipe or trimming bushes, but I’d love to have one tool to do everything.
Given that a recip saw is a tool that you’re normally holding free while you’re using it, I see it being the best use of DeWalt’s new linup. Not to mention, I’d love to take it up a tree and prune some branches without having to haul a hacksaw up there.
Jonathan H.
Recently graduated as a Journeyman Carpenter and now have the life long task of making everyone who believed in me proud and also of being proud of everything I build. That sliding compound saw would allow me to start this journey with one mighty jump.
Kyle R
Love this idea and the transparency you always have about sponsored stuff, Stuart – that’s a huge reason I trust your site like I do.
I’d like the Table Saw. It’s a tool I don’t have in any form yet and the portability of that one would be fantastic for me, as I use my garage as a garage and don’t yet have a dedicated woodworking area. This would definitely prod me to start making the Lazy Susan for Shoes my wife has been asking for and a lot of other projects.
Thanks for the chance!
Hank
Thanks for the giveaway! I’ve been very impressed over the years with how much you give away…whether or not it’s provided by the company, or you foot the bill yourself.
I’ve love to try the 60v circular saw. I’ve always balked at the cordless “high draw” tools, but after trying my Dad’s cordless Milwaukee cordless circular a while ago, I was impressed. So often, it’s a huge pain to drag an extension cord somewhere for 10 seconds of cutting!
I’d also enjoy the 6″ grinder, or recip saw, as these would definitely benefit from the portability as well.
Thanks again, and Merry Christmas!
Mike McFalls
I’d use the table saw for projects for my newborn daughters nursery and outdoor playground my son has been asking for. Currentyly I do all my ripping using a Kreg sled and my Makita circular saw. Having a table saw would simplify these upcoming projects.
Happy Holidays to all!
Quang Lam
I would go for the portable power station. I’d use it on some job sites where too many trades are using the few outlets that we have. It would replace a lot of cords. I wouldn’t mind buying some extra batteries since I already have the flexvolt double bevel saw.
dandlyons
It is an impressive line of tools. I have actually had my eye on the brushless circular saw. With some high capacity batteries I expect it will be unstoppable.
Unfortunately my employer cancelled my PPO medical insurance effective January 1st.
So needless to say, my holiday tool buying budget has been unexpectedly diverted. I snuck in a few small buys this year. But mostly I come here daily experience the holiday deals vicariously. Wasn’t expecting a give away. Nice holiday surprise.
Cr8ondt
Wow, simply WOW!!!! I humbly toss my hat in the ring…. I just yesterday bought a Hitachi miter, simply couldn’t justify the FlexVolt cost, but really wanted it. The next tool I need is a table saw but if I really wanted a fun toy it would definitely be the portable power center! I wish to you and your families, Stuart, Benjamin, and all the ToolGuyd readers a very special and Merry Christmas!
Travis
I would definitely go for the mitre saw setup. I have 2 decks that need rebuilding and that would be the perfect rig to get it done in a hurry. Maybe I would give it to my dad after I was done so he could do some work on rebuilding some tree stands. This would be the perfect setup to use out in the woods.
Thanks!
Corey Cook
It would be hard to pass on the potential new dualbevel sliding mitre saw. I love my old makita, but the ability to cut trim anywhere would be a gift from the gods! No more stringing a daisy chain of extension cords, or long walks from the room I’m working in to the garage with the only powered outlet in the place!
Eric
I would def choose the sliding miter saw! I have so many projects to do at my home starting in spring and the saw would really motivate me to get each one completed
Mark Estrada
Table saw for me to work on Mom’s house.
Jimmie
I’d choose one of the miter saws. Whether I pick the DHS790 or DHS716 depends on whether the DHS790 will comfortably fit on my rotating miter saw/planer table. It would be replacing a corded DW716 saw. I’m not near my garage so I can’t measure to see if there’s enough clearance for the table to rotate with a DHS790.
What would I do with it? Well, first off, it would give me a reason to start buying into the Dewalt battery ecosystem (presently, my cordless tools are of the big red M12 variety). But to answer the question…while I occasionally do construction type projects with it (used it last summer when replacing my deck railing and balusters), I mostly use it for woodworking when I’m preparing rough-cut lumber for a project. It’s a lot easier (and safer) to cross-cut long boards to approx length on the miter saw and then do final cuts later on the table saw after the board has been jointed and surfaced.
Stephen
I would definitely love to receive the sliding compound miter saw in this giveaway. We have a new baby on the way and it would be a huge help in getting his room ready as well as being a tremendous aid in getting my business off its feet. Thank you for offering up such a generous giveaway!
Michael K
For sure would her the circular saw as I hate cords on those. Would be perfect for ripping plywood and cutting studs for my garage projects.
Grant
I’d have to go with the Miter Saw!
Matthew Renes
Wow there are so many wonderful items I would love to have; however if I just got to pick one I would pick the circular saw. If there was a chance to pick multiple items of course I would pick a few other items. :).
I have the privilege to work at a youth summer camp through out the year and there are lots of work to do and sometimes not power to use a corded tools. Honestly any tool would be helpful, especially the 1800w power source for the corded tools.
Adam g
I would certainly go for the dhs790 sliding miter saw would be great for getting nice clean cuts on the table I’ll be building.
Paul
Thank you for doing the give-away.
I would choose the miter saw. I currently own the Dewalt 713 10″ Miter Saw and I’ve hit a limitation of what it can do. I was trying to cut 1 x 8 and 1 x10s with it to make drawers, for a desk that I’m making for my wife, and it was a difficult process trying to cut the piece on one side, flip it around, and find the exact same spot. I never quite managed it so I had to use a lot of sanding in order to smooth out each side. With my woodworking needs steadily increasing, a 12″ miter saw would cover my needs for the foreseeable future.
James Martin
The 12″ Sliding Miter Saw would be unbelievably helpful. I’ve had my eye on it since they introduced it. First project would either be replacing our deck/back porch at my house or helping one of my brothers finish building out his garage.
Dalton
I have a few 20v DeWalt tools, all of which I love. I’d love to get ahold of the 4.5″-6″ 60v grinder because a lot of my free time is spend either working on old vehicles or fabricating something in my shop
John Mulder
Yes! I would instantly choose the reciprocating saw. I currently do pruning work by hand; I tried an 18V but it wasn’t strong enough for wet hardwood and batteries would die after a couple of minutes.
I’m eyeballing this saw for quite some time but I can’t justify the price because I bought into another brands batteries. But this kit as a starter would change things!
Cj
Definitely the miter saw i do home remodeling would love this
Andy
Miter saw will to replace my broken saw for all the works around the house.
Tom H
I’ve got most of the 20v tools; but I would love to add the 60V Circular Saw to my collection! The DeWalt brushless tools are fantastic. I’ve tried my buddy’s 18V circular saw which is ok; but I think with the added power this one would be much better.
Andrew
I would want the sliding miter saw DHS790, as I have several projects that need some cut lumber, including a coffee table.
Sam
I’d love the Dewalt flexvolt miter saw. I’d love it for its ease of use, it being cordless an I’ve been wanting a miter saw for so long, seeing this makes me hope I’ll win. I’d use it for my projects I need to accomplish yet, an working towards having my own construction company soon.
MICHAEL TELLEZ
The miter saw kit. I can see myself using it to get my fence fixed up.
Bolt
The table saw so I could give it to my brother. He’s got too many kids to have any stationary tools so it would be perfect for him.
Matt
I want all the 60V stuff. Maybe the grinder and rotary hammer would be first my first pick to use for all kinds of tile work. The ability to work cord free without a performance dip would increase productivity immensely on so many tile tear outs and installs! Or the table saw would be great too for flooring work! Easy to move along as the flooring progresses eliminating walks back to the saw. I’d love the miter saw too, but the 20v one I have now and use for flooring is knocking it out as is, so there’s no rush to upgrade there.
Mike
Planning a deck in the spring so the 12″ sliding miter saw would be outstanding! Thanks for the chance!
Will
If I won I would want the glexbolt double bevel mitre saw. I’d probably use it to fulfill honey-do wishes mostly!
Josh
I would love to have the sliding miter saw. I need to redo the casings around pretty much every window in my house and this would make it so much easier. Also planning on building some shelving in a pantry and closet. Love that you’re doing this!
Matt
DHS790 sliding mitre saw would be my choice! I would use it to put a new deck on the house this summer. I saw this at Blaine’s farm & fleet a month or two back out on display. Just the ‘feel’ of it was extremely high quality. Even compared to DeWalts other mitre’s also on display. The nicest mitre saw on the market that I’ve looked at. I also love the Flexvolt brushless circular saw but the mitre is just something to behold in person.
Jim P.
I would really like the cordless brushless circular saw. I’ve been doing more and more repairs for customers where I only need to make a couple cuts and pulling out a cord is a real pain. Sometimes it takes more time to get setup and clean up then the work takes.
And any time saved would be more time I could spend with my wife and son
mattd
For me it would be the 7-1/4″ circular saw. I have an 18v one but it is not that great for heavy work and tends to bind/shut off if not babied. I find a portable 7-1/4 to be by far the most useful of the lot as far as every day tasks. I have a corded 12″ miter and 10″ table and rarely use them. a small cordless saw is just too convenient to grab and go. as a bonus the DCS575T1DCB606 is only $299 from homedepot and includes a second battery. so if i win, go ahead and use the leftovers to either do another give away or throw at toys for totts or a local high school’s workshop. 🙂
Tim
I just wanted a chance to win
Steve Harris
Mitre saw – because my old one is about 25 years old!
CARLOS MARTINEZ
Hi Toolguyd ? love the site ? i would pick the “DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery.” I want the option to build all the furniture in my new home and this is just what i need.
David E
I would definitely go with the miter saw. I have been slowly building a woodworking shop from mostly used tools i find on craigslist. I have a similar problem as another reader in that I only have one outlet and if I try to run two tools at once, such as a shop vac and a table saw the breaker flips. I decided I should hold off on a miter saw for that reason and I have been using a miter box and hand saw for some trim work and repairs. My life would be much easier with a flexvolt
Jordan Fok
DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit.
My girlfriend and i just got our first place. We are going to make shelves for all of our storage with salvaged wood and hopefully make a dining room table also.
Thanks for all the awesome reviews and sale alerts.!
Sergio
I would love a cordless miter saw , it can be handy for doing quick cuts off the tailgate or trailer without having to get cords out !!
Toolguyd is great!!! Great reviews and giveaways are always welcomed 🙂 and knowing it’s paid for by toolguyd is great , makes me think you care for your readers.
Thanks for the opportunity:)
John
The circular saw would be awesome to use for projects around the house and for building furniture for our daughter!
Brien
I like miter saws!!! I love DEWALT. I share the same top three as you Stuart but my order is Portable Power Station, Sliding Miter Saw and Circular Saw. Great giveaway. I hope you get a bunch of entries.
JMG
Awesome giveaway Stuart…
I purchased the sliding miter saw shortly after it showed up at Home Depot and it is an excellent tool (sort of ruined my tool budget though). What I am looking forward to now is to add the DCS7485 table saw as a companion saw for the miter. I am currently renovating a WW2 era home I bought a bit over three years ago, and the flexibility of the cordless table saw would be a great asset in the process. Thanks so much for the opportunity you’re giving to all of us tool addicts who visit your site on a regular basis.

Too bad the Flexvolt track saw isn’t available yet…
JMG
Forgot to mention that I think it is great that you are willing to pay for this out of pocket, but I don’t object to sponsors donating merchandise. In fact, I think that if you get more than five hundred entries you should request a number swag packs from Dewalt as added prize items.
Ricardo Carrion
I would love the miter saw! A young contractor by trade and that’s one of tools I don’t own myself (miter saw box sucks but gets the job done) and with being a family man they come first over expensive tools that I don’t necessarily need. Im usually a Milwaukee tool guy but read many many great reviews about this saw! I would love to add it to my collection and spread the word about this amazing tool through my own personal experience. I would use this saw for trim obviously and also flooring and well anything else that would make the job easier. So I’m sure after the miter saw I’ll be purchasing the table saw eventually!
Daniel Crandall
Being a Milwaukee man, I’d have to go for the pieces that Milwaukee does not offer. Specifically, the cordless miter saw (DHS790) or the cordless table saw (DCS7485). I actually don’t even have a table saw. Instead, I use either a clamp guide and a circular saw, or a circular saw attachment.
Ben
Just picked up the Dewalt Flexvolt carbide hole saw kit. Would love to see how it pairs with the VSR stud and joist drill. The 20v batteries have held up surprisingly well doing rough work in near zero temps, interested in how a power hungry tool like that would hold up.
Kent
No Canadians allowed makes me a sad panda.
Doug
The slider would be a real treat but my first choice Flexvolt tool is the circular saw, because it seems to be the only cordless saw indistinguishable from a corded model. Even the M18 Fuel stalls out sometimes, according to reviews I’ve read.
Chad Foster
The circular saw for sure. That is the one tool where my current cordless options have really let me down and which I regularly could use it cordless!
Tim K
I would love the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790. Just had triplets and am still in the midst of a full blown total gut 2nd floor Reno. This saw would make trimming much easier! Thanks for the giveaway.
Scott K
Wow- this is a very generous giveaway. You seem to run your site with a high level of integrity, and bundling ads and giveaways does not detract from that.
I have a really old circular saw that I avoid using; with that said, I would love the sliding miter saw for several projects: window trim, building a frame/railing around my attic stairs, and other misc. jobs that magically get added to the list.
Happy holidays to you and your family!
Bill Clay
DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit
Use: All those project boards that need a choppin’ and a miterin’ around the ol’ home, set up where ever it is convenient.
Ola Botes
Sliding mitre saw, I need one for this summer am making a pergola for the backyard.
Bertil
I would dearly love to get my hands on the grinder. The biggest thing that’s holding me back from pulling the trigger on buying one is that my current dewy batteries aren’t able to be used on it, so I’d have to get a pair of fv batteries right off the bat.
I’d also love to get the circular saw, it’s another piece that my meagre lineup doesn’t have, but again the 60v aspect pushes it down my list a bit.
One day, one day.
Bryan T
DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit would be great. My miter saw is almost dead.
Durman
No question. The stud and joist drill kit would be choice. I run electrical lines all the time and that would be a lifesaver.
Ben F.
I’d choose the miter saw kit. Out of the options available I am only missing a miter saw. Unfortunately the only other battery powered dewalt item I own is a heated jacket. I think it would be pretty interesting going to a restaurant and plugging myself in on a chilly day. I do wish Ridgid had a power adapter.
In essence the miter saw kit is the perfect thing. A portable mitersaw. Battery with more battery. and an interesting gadget to play with.
Jacob miller
I would go with the power station. I’m not big on dewalt, but I cold use it. I’m actually wishing Milwaukee would come out with something similar.
Robert Applegate
I’m McDonald’s maintaince I would like the miter saw I would saw threaded rods
Bill S
I would get the sliding compound miter saw kit for trim work and outdoor projects. It would be awesome to be able to just set up and go anywhere without worrying about an outlet and extension cord!
avi
definitely the table saw for me, i am constantly salvaging sheet goods from the trash and cutting them down, but with only a circular saw my cuts never end up really square.
as far as feedback, i really can’t complain about free tools.
Drew M
Very generous of you Stuart but honestly I don’t need any of these flexvolt tools.
I generally like the concept and I wouldn’t mind a flexvolt string trimmer should they make one . Out of all the Flexvolt tools, I think the only ones I could actually see myself using are the circular saw or the grinder but I wish the grinder was variable speed like my Metabo and I wish the circular saw was more of a tracksaw.
Howard McLean
First of all I enjoy reading and comparing your reviews ToolGuyd. Also at this time of year your heads up on tool sales. I am a tool nut (so my wife says). In your giveaway featuring DeWalt tools I would love to win the portable power station PCB1800. I like to build furniture for my family. My shop at the townhouse we rent is actually a one car garage and has one electrical outlet in it. So I need a dependable power source to run a few corded tools. I have read a lot of great reviews (including yours ToolGuyd) on this DeWalt product.
Thanks ToolGuyd for the chance to win this DeWalt power source.
Rock Hound
What an awesome giveaway! I would want the compound sliding miter saw. I would use it to cut 1/4 round log siding for my house and complete the deck and stairs. I would also use it to assist in building projects with my students (but I will admit that this would be a pretty much me-only tool for the most part).
Kory Letts
If I won, I would most definitely go for the Flexvolt table saw. I have an ancient Skil saw that is well past due for an upgrade. I love to build new things and absolutely enjoy any type of woodworking and construction. This would be a fantastic addition to my DeWalt tool collection.
James
What a fun giveaway. I hate to see you part with well earned money but I respect you for not giving stuff away non stop like some of your peers do.
If I had to choose from the list I would say the DHS790 slider. I have the 12″ Bosch GSM and it’s a great saw but it’s nearly 90 lbs and it needs to stay in the shop. The ability to run cordless and corded and at only 56 lbs is great. I love the idea of being able to make a quick cut on the tailgate with out having to dig a cord out. It’s main advantage is for small tasks where you want to get in and out. I still think a cordless 8 1/2″ is more practical for the weight but they stopped selling them for a reason.
On a side note I was very surprised to see the cordless plunge saw in that promo pic. Very interested in it also.
Gordon
I’d have to go for the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw DHS790. Purely because it is the most flexible tool of the bunch. As a soon to be homeowner I can’t even begin to list the ways in which I could use such a versatile tool. Between the battery power, and the plug in source, I have ultimate flexibility. I really wish more tool companies did this.
DaveO
Sliding Miter FTW! I have a old, poorly wired garage and running the table saw and miter at the same time shorts out the lone circuit!
phil
would love the versatility of the DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit.
we work in outdoor events and not having to worry about running cables and generators anymore would be amazing !!!
Mike47
I would go for any tool you want to send me, and I would donate it to charity.
Chris
Orrrr…… you could use the tools for charity work 😛 visit a habitat for humanity site and do more than just donate a tool, donate your time and effort to build a home for someone!
Happy holidays!
Oles Masan
Table saw kit and a skill saw. 700$ together. I’m a carpenter. Nice to have powerful cordless tools around.
Maisy Maxwell
I would like a sliding miter saw. It would be a great present for my husbands birthday.
Brenden
Any of the flex volt items, really. Looking to switch most of my tools from corded to cordless – more options = more opportunity = more money.
Corey Patrick
What an amazing giveaway! If I won I would definitely choose the flexvolt miter saw. It would a ton more convenient for me as I work in a one man, single car garage shop!
Fingers crossed big time!
Jamie R
Like alot of people, I’d go for the 12″ sliding miter saw as my pick. I have a basement remodel coming up, and being able to cut trim and wider stock for built-in with the miter saw would be great.
Great site, one of the few that I visit multiple times a day. Keep up with the great content.
Eric
I’m in the process of finishing my basement and after the drywall is done the DHS790 Sliding Compound Miter Saw would come in handy for all sorts of trim and finish work.
Chad Brink
Thank you for offering us readers such a gift.
I’d love the cordless mitersaw as I do a few remote construction jobs a year and to not have to mess with cords or a generator would be so nice.
Best wishes for the future of your blog and Merry Christmas.
Steve A
I am looking to start a church group that helps elderly and people who are in the hospital by fixing up the items at their house that are in need of repair. The best tool in the package would probably be the miter saw. It would allow me to bring it to a persons home and not have to have power near where the repair is needed to be done.
Blythe M
Man this is such a cool giveaway. The tablesaw is so tempting, but the sliding miter saw is much higher on the need list. My current craftsman model leaves a lot to be desired in the accuracy department, and bringing a self employed contractor I need my tools to work, period. The cordless/corded option has to be one of the biggest game changers this industry has seen since the impact driver
Chris
If I won this very generous giveaway, I would ask for the flexvolt mitersaw. The reason I would choose this is because I accidentally broke my fathers Ryobi miter saw and have been looking for a replacement for him.
Toby
If I won I would choose the 12″ Fixed Head Compound Miter Saw, DHS716 because I’m setting up a woodshop and am in need of a high quality miter saw that will last and that I can teach my young son the art and craft of woodworking with.
Mike K
This is real nice, thank you Stuart.
For me, I do not have anything dewalt, so it would be my first. I could use the flexvolt bluetooth light kit. I always seem to have to fix things in the dark, and this will beat a headlamp and flashlight.
Andrew
I have a fairly basic miter saw so the Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw would be a nice upgrade for doing work around the house and projects with my Dad.
Brian
Definitely the table saw I would let that baby rip 🙂 cheers!
Adam
I’d be really excited to get the table saw. I’ve been wanting a contractor table saw that I can put in the back of the truck. However, I’d be excited to win anything–so you can surprise me & pick something for me. Thank you for your hard work. I love the website.
Mike Cooper
I would love to win the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw kit. I have one on my wishlist even if I don’t win. I’m planning on doing hard wood floors in my house and would get a lot of use out of it for that. I’m also planning on redoing the railings on my front porch and would love one for that.
Eric McCormick
If I won I would like the 120V Max 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790. I am a teacher and I plan to remodel my bathroom myself this summer and I think this tool would be very handy. I very much enjoy reading your site. I typically look at it at least once per day. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas!
Marty
I could definitely use the grinder and the stud drill. I use corded grinders for everything to cleaning welds, leveling concrete and cutting tile. I’ve desperately wanted a cordless one for some time, but was always discouraged by run time and power until now. The stud drill would be great to have the power to drill large holes that I usually overwhelm underpowered tools with. Fingers crossed!!
Jamie
The miter saw would be awesome, a cordless 12″ one would save me from having to cut, flip, and cut again on my smaller saw
Bill Kirksey
120v sliding miter saw would be wonderful prize for me. It’s a prize just to think about the opportunity! Thanks
Fm2176
Like so many others, I’d like to enter for a chance to win a sliding miter saw! What would it get used for? Well, there’s the project house 90 minutes from me that I can only get to every 4 months or so (time off is almost nonexistent for a Drill Sergeant); the upcoming remodel of my in-laws’ kitchen, that may become my brother’s job if it isn’t finished before the next training cycle; and the post-retirement remodel of my own house (thankfully one of the few spared from the Baton Rouge area flooding back in August).
Davida1
Grinder. As others have mentioned would you be able to bundle it with extra batteries. Thanks
Adam
I have to echo many others here and go for the sliding compound miter saw.
I’m in the process of building a ramp for my girlfriend so she can get into our back yard, and it would be exceptionally useful for making the framing and supports.
Jon F
Wow! What an awesome give away. After a recent career change I would have to go with the power station so I wouldn’t have to rely on power related issues while on the job site. I can keep on rockin out at what I do best and not sit around and wait or be held up because of someone else. Thanks for the opportunity!
Fishel Jake
12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw.
That would definitely be my choice.
I do random trim work and would be great not to have to look for anew outlet to connect to.
Looking forward…..
Jv
Hey stew merry christmass,
I would opt for the table saw kitt. With it i can expand the variety of jobs i can do on demand at the customers locations or jobsite.
Mick
Sliding miter saw for me…..or maybe the tablesaw. After a career in metal working, i’m getting into woodworking. I had an old B&D TS750 benchtop table saw that finally gave up several years ago. Yeah, I could get lots of use with a saw either sliding miter or tablesaw.
I’ll echo the sentiments of many others. Thank you Stu for your generousity and an excellent site. On that note, I wonder how much money is spent on tools by folks after reading your site? I’m guilty of whipping out the credit card after reading.
Adam
I’d pick the miter saw to help with future crown molding!
Justin Kendall
If I won I would want the 8-1/4″ Cordless Table Saw, DCS7485 kit. I just got into woodworking and as such I don’t have a table saw yet. It would really help with things that a miter saw can’t do like cut thin strips or shallow cuts. Plus the fact that it’s cordless would help a lot in my shop because I’m in a small 10’x 27′ one car garage as a shop and it only has 4 outlets that are all on the same wall and share a single 20A breaker so the more battery powered tools the easier I can get my projects done.
Eve sanchez
Hello stewart,
I will love to get my hands on the jobsite area light kit. Since i dont have electricity at my worshop it can be used as my main source of light during night jobs.
Michael Bollaci
I would pick the compound miter saw, I live in NYC for a scenery construction company and this would help so much for on site builds which usually are out in the middle of a venue or Times Square or a roof top and there is always a power outlet issue , hundreds of feet of extension cords get heavy
David B
This is an easy answer for me. I’m a plumber and would love the cordless stud and joist drill.
Alvaro Rodarte
Been loving my dewalt tools since i bought them. Been looking to go FlexVolt and this would be an awesome time to step up my game
Rick Nath
The selection would be hard but I would without hesitation pick the Flexvolt Miter Saw. My wife has a list of items that seems a mile long (much better than a list of 0 and her hiring it out!). I enjoy doing it tough. My first task would be to redo the trim on our windows in a traditional manner with stool, apron the whole works. Great system and thanks for putting this on.
Maria
My Husband loves his dewalt tools so much!! I would love to win him some dewalt tools. His tools allow him to work hard and take care of us. If any one deserves some more dewalt tools it’s my Husband.
Matt
I’m about to buy my first house, naturally a fixer-upper and I’d love the flexvolt miter saw! Just thinking about having a cordless miter saw gets me excited! I could use it for everything from framing a new and larger shed for firewood to finishing all the door casings and mouldings in the house when I’m done!
Double G
I would use the table saw for all the jobs I bring the corded saw to. Just having the ability to set up and go would save time and $$.
Eric Dreibelbis
The table saw would be my choice.
I mainly install storm doors and thiswould be perfect for what I need to cut.
Mainly 1× for shims ripped the length of the door frame .
Plus I run Dewalt already.
Mikevango
I’d pick the most expensive one because I am greedy
Derek
Nice to see such giving spirit, Stuart. If I were lucky enough to win a DHS790, I’d have to pay it forward by giving away either my 20V or 60V hand saw.
Thanks for this!
D
Moises A.
I would really love to win the miter saw. I would use it to trim out houses every day since that is what I do for a living. If I do win I can stop using my miter box I made with a hand saw to stop cutting baseboard. Which will also be great so I wouldn’t have to borrow a fellow employee saw every time there is big molding
Zach Dyer
If I won this incredible giveaway, I would definitely choose the Cordless Table Saw kit! My humble shop is out in my garage that’s on a single outlet. To run my shop vac along with any other tool I use an extension cord from the house that’s on a different breaker, and even then my old table saw trips the power! Nothing is scarier than carefully ripping stock and the lights going out. You hold dead still until the blade stops moving and then count all your fingers as you trudge through the house to the basement!
Donnie Knight
Very cool that you’re going the non-paid route. But honestly I love this site so I’d come back anyway. For the giveaway, I’d have to go with the table saw. I love the concept. A time or two I’ve fired up my contractor saw at someone else’s house only to have the breaker trip…ugh.
Josh H.
I would love to get the brushless circular saw kit. (DCS575T2 FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Brushless Circular Saw with Brake and 2 Battery Kit, 7-1/4″). If I won this I would use it to build some shelving and a workbench in my small garage. I traded in my truck so this saw would also be great for trimming lumber to fit in my midsized suv. 2 batteries would give my the comfort as well when doing projects to know I can get the job done if 1 battery is depleted.
Chris T
Id like the circular saw. Need a good saw to break down sheet goods for my laundry room cabinetry project, and would like a lighter option than my current hypoid saw. I could use it for my pergola project slated to be started in the fall. A lot of my tools are yellow and black. It would match nicely.
Blake Paine
I would absolutely love the sliding compound miter saw! The cut size and cordless versatility would be right at home in my various work sites. I build sets for commercials on location with regularity, though the saw’s first task would be to out fit my 53′ prop trailer as I advance from my regular gig as Assistant Prop Master on a network TV show to being the Prop Master of my own show in the New Year.
Cheers, and good luck to all!
Josh
I would pick the circular saw and reciprocating saw, or the miter saw. I would use the circular saw with my regular woodworking and the reciprocating saw would be used from everything from demo to pruning trees. It would be hard to not pick the miter saw though. The ability to run on power or battery would be of great use for diy projects around the house. Either would help in rebuilding my grandparents dock.
Robert
The stud and joist drill – it makes sense to use a battery operated tool when there’s no power. Or perhaps the grinder….
Sam Kuglin
Love your reviews, as I am a woodworker/cabinetmaker, using hand tools every day. I would put the cordless table saw to use every day on the job site, great for ripping toetick and similar tasks. I have a dewalt brushless impact driver and would love to have the combo hammer drill/driver. Great power, so much that my boss refers to my impact driver as my “Gatling gun”.
Tim
I’d have to go with the table saw. I’ve been drooling over this at the local home depot but can’t afford to pull the trigger atm but it’s so nice.
I just started a small flooring company last year to help bring in some extra money with the new family and would use this to cut flooring in the bed of my truck and help with all the finish work around my house.
NCD
The miter saw as I have numerous projects around the house to repair/complete.
This is one fantastic giveaway for some lucky winner. Fantastic!
Josh Kendall
If I won I would like the FlexVolt Table Saw; I have a small shop/garage that only has a 15A breaker so the more tools that are cordless the better. I need a table saw to rip smaller sizes that can’t be easily done with a circular saw and easily cut tops off of boxes.
Kevin
The miter saw, definitely. We have a new daughter, and an older house, and there’s much work to be done. I haven’t convinced myself to buy a miter saw yet, but it would make many things a lot easier.
Allen Johnson
If go for the sliding miter saw.
K2
I would appreciate the miter saw. I like that you can also plug it in, best of both.
Thanks!
RKA
Feedback – free stuff, heck yeah! 🙂
I’ll be the odd man out. I’m covered for miter saw and table saw or those would you my list. Next up is a circular saw that can match the grunt of a corded version.
Dave
I would love to get my hands on the Sliding miter saw. It would be awesome to have the ability to not need an outlet to use but also be able to plug it in should the need arise. I would also love to increase my current cut capacity of 10″ with my non sliding miter! I would come in handy when doing and type of new construction where power isn’t hooked up yet.
Logan
Wow! Thanks for the opportunity! I would definitely get the miter saw. I actually am in great need of one because I always used my dads, which is no longer possible and have been without one for quite sometime. After having one you can’t be without it! Thanks again!
KnarlyCarl
Nice stack of entries you’ve got so far!!!! Here’s helping you reach 500!
I’d take the Bluetooth light kit! I can never have enough flashlights and etc
Since I usually forget about this site, I’ll have to pass on this if selected, it wouldn’t be right because I don’t regularly contribute, but I want to be able to help you reach 500!
#tiacrew baby!!
Ashley werrmann
I would like to get that saw so I can surprise my husband with it
Jason
I would love the sliding compound miter saw. I am finishing my basement, and this would really help out. Thanks for the very generous giveaway.
Brian Aldendorf
I would definitely love to have the miter saw because in my job I end up in a lot of places where there is no power available and that would make me the man with the plan.
Fran
I have twin 9 year old girls who are American Ninja Warrior maniacs. The sliding miter saw would come in very handy for building the ninja warrior station I am designing for them. Many thanks for a great site, Stuart. Have a great holiday!
Scott
I would take the table saw so when I go help friends and family with their projects, I would be able to easily rip boards to width making the job faster, safer and easire.
Daniel
Table saw. Look forward to having a cordless table saw for my projects. Quicker set up!
Chris
I think this giveaway is a great idea. As long as you’re being up front how all this is working, it’s a win-win for everyone. Personally, I’d like to win one of the 20v packages. Either the Portable Power Station, DCB1800 or the Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit, DCK299. One can never have enough batteries or power for their Dewalt tools and I’m no exception. I’ve been looking to upgrade many of my cordless tools to brushless. As a heavy DIYer, this would a great upgrade and I can let my son learn how to use the old ones without worry of breakage! Great idea, and keep up the great work!!!
Jonathon Lee
I’d take the miter saw. My wife would like two more planters and this would be perfect to help finish the job. Thanks toolguyd.com for creating the giveaway!
mark morlock
I would pick the miter saw mine is getting old and being able to go with a battery is awesome. I have been to home depot to see the display . Dewalt with this dual voltage is the way to go with the high power tools . when my circular saws need to be replaced I would be able to cordless they have made plug in saws obsolete
Joseph Adams
I would have to say I’d choose the miter saw. I have the 20v version, and think the cordless 12″ slider would help greatly while remodeling my kitchen!
Kevin
I would love the miter saw! I would use it for jobs around my house and I occasional do jobs for family and friends like patio additions. Would be a great addition to my DeWalt cordless lineup!
BC
Great to see the Christmas spirit of giving going strong! I’d love to move up to the DHS790AT2 sliding miter saw if I was the lucky one. New tools are the best gift of all.
Chris
Thanks for the giveaway! Read the site almost daily. I would love the flexvolt portable power station. The possibilities are endless.
Greetings from Canada!
Chris
Brian Kloc
I’d go with the compound miter saw or the table saw. The compound miter saw would be perfect for redoing my back patio this summer.
Jon
I’d take the Moyer saw for sure. I’ve read lots of good things about it and I don’t currently have one.
I’ve got some upcoming builtins coming up that it would be perfect for!
Dave
I’d love to get my hands on that miter saw! It would be quite the upgrade from my old 10″ craftsman! My list of summer projects would certainly grow with that bad boy in the workshop. I’ve been dabbling in diy woodworking projects and home upgrades, and could put the saw to immediate use building a playroom for my 18month old boy!
Thanks for the great site, the chance to win is fun but the information found here is invaluable!!
Joseph
The miter saw. I want to put in a new deck next summer.
Bryan
What a great giveaway TOOLGUYD!!!
I would love to have the miter saw especially since I don’t have one. I have many projects that it would be wonderful to have.
Keep up the great reviews and deal findings.
Nathan
Definitely the FlexVolt Sliding Miter Saw with 120V AC power adapter. My current non-slider miter saw doesn’t have the capacity for a lot of cuts I make, and it’s a pain to flip over the workpiece.
Being able to run off of wall power or throw it in the truck and run off of batteries is a huge advantage too.
Iron-Iceberg
Table saw for me. A small saw like that that I could put in the back of the truck for small jobs would be great!
Thanks Stu for putting this giveaway together.
Andrew W
I would go with the compound sliding compound miter saw. I’m not seeing my original reply though, where I discussed working outside. Stuart, if there’s a way to filter these by email address, I see several responses by people with the name Andrew, but not the one I wrote from this email address…. So this may or may not be a duplicate submission.
Anyway, awesome giveaway and it does seem a little nicer coming from you directly rather than from DeWalt.
Andrew W
As in, I thought I submitted already, but I’m not seeing my comment. It was from this same email address though, so it should be easy to cross reference.
Alex Turlington
The hammer drill and impact set would be an amazing addition to use at work. It would definitely help speed up the time installing big walk in coolers and freezers. Either that, or the sliding compound miter saw. It would make easy work of cutting planks for the tables I have been working on lately. Thank you for the awesome chance to win one of these!
Brian Ketcham
I’d love the Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit. I am a tech theatre teacher at my High school and we are always short on drills/impact drivers and/or working batteries. We currently have a mixed platform, but we could really use a new combo to get us going.
Joseph Kielar
I’ve heard rumors of the dcs520 flexvolt tracksaw coming to the US. If it does make it here I’d definitely pick that or the flexvolt circular saw since my current saw is a decades-old, hand-me-down skil.
Mikal
I would graciously accept the 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit to be used for wood trim and other carpentry work mostly at home.
Really enjoy visiting this site as there is tons of useful information.
Thanks for the doing the giveaway good luck to all.
Brian
I just won one of your giveaways so I probably should sit this one out but I just wanted to congratulate you on this awesome giveaway! I will definitely share it with other people, maybe you should do an instagram giveaway to help drive followers or at least promote it there!
George
12″ sliding miter saw for certain. I would get the most use out of it for my hobby projects. And given that it seems like our builder contracted to more than a few people who put the “sub” in subcontractor, I’m going to need a good one for the next few years!
Igor Satori
I would go with Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit, DCK299 .
Because my nameless cordless drill already dead and i want to start some home diy.
David
If I were lucky enough to win the grand prize I would choose the DHS790AT2 Sliding Miter Saw kit. Not only would it make a square cut on a 2×4 when building a wall but it would cut a 2×12 in one easy cut with the sliding rail. Plus being able to cut endless trim and baseboard that I’m always putting up. And cordless in the deal! It would also be my first 60/120 Max tool, though those batteries would fit in my 20V Max tools for longer use.
Richard Kephart
Impressive.
I think I’d have to go with the sliding miter saw. Or the hammer drill and impact driver set. My green tools have no working batteries left.
RICHARD SIMON
The angle Grinder. I occasionally do some wood carving in places where I do not have reliable 120v power. An extra battery would be helpful too. I would probably add the circular saw to the collection on my own.
Michael
I would love to take home the cordless table saw or the 12″ compound sliding miter saw. An amazing DeWalt tool would really help me on continuing to pursue the passion I have for woodworking.
Michael
I would love to take home the cordless table saw or the 12″ compound sliding miter saw. An amazing DeWalt tool would really help me on continuing to pursue the passion I have for woodworking. I’m a 19 year old electrician and one day I hope to combine Borge woodworking and electrical in way never thought possible before. Revolutionary DeWalt tools would make that dream a reality.
Travis
The sliding miter saw
Ryan Conner
I’d choose the 60v grinder. I would use to cut everything. Pad lock on a toolbox? Chopped. Pencil is dull? Chopped. Wife didn’t cut my sandwich? Chopped.
Dirt
Well, I can’t decide which tool I’d like to receive. So, surprise me. I’ll put it to good use(s). Please and thank you.
chris parker
i’m not going to write a long story of why i should win..i could, but i will just say that i would really appreciate having the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790..i thank you for what you are doing..this is my favorite site!
Stephan Meister
Got to go with the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw. I have been salivating at the Miter saws reviewed here for weeks without getting the necessary budget approved by the wife. It would be a nice addition to my burgeoning little garage wood working studio.
Pete
I would NOT use any dewalt tools if i won. BUT i’d rather give them to a coworker whom is a dewalt fanatic. Im know he would REALLY enjoy the grinder and the blower. He uses a grinder nearly every day and the blower for cleanup.
Lol anyways a post bump to 200!
Caleb Wilson
I am moving to a new home and have a big need for reducing the pull on the electrical outlets in the new garage. Having. The new 120v miter saw would allow me to: 1. Make quick accurate cuts. 2. Save wall space for other power tools. 3. Give me a nicer battery platform for my drills and hopefully future circular saw. Having this saw would change my building capabilities which are small at the moment with the lack of needed tools. Thanks for this incredible opportunity to change the way that I can work and grow in woodworking!
Matthew Janes
Definitely would take the miter saw. Finish up some more furniture the deck.
Cesar C
I would use the cordless mitter saw for my job. I’m a finish carpenter, so what I do everyday is install doors, casings, base boards, crown molding, and trim. I also enjoy doing handy work at home, and a hobby of mine is making furniture. This saw looks very versatile, and since it’s cordless, it would definitely assist me in my everyday tasks.
Booger
Awesome!!!! I’ll take the portable power station w/ batteries kit!!! Or the 60 volt chaiN saw if that’s out yet!!!!
Edwin Reyese
Definitely would have to be the compound miter saw for me, just starting up my business and this would for sure help along in the process
JPD
The miter saw. I would use it for my household projects instead of a circular saw.
Andy O
I would definitely go for the miter saw. I am currently a Milwaukee user, but have really been sitting on the fence regarding their cordless miter saw offering. I am an independent contractor who relies on his tools on a daily basis, and this saw without a doubt seems better constructed than the competitors”.
Flyer
A very generous holiday giveaway!
The table saw would certainly help make short work out of a garage storage project.
Eric
I would choose the sliding compound miter saw. I will use it for both DIY and furniture building projects. I want to build some decorative shutters for the house. The large cutting width is great for cutting down rough sawn white oak to length.
Thanks Stuart!
CDL
Mmmmmm Mmmmmm love me some Flexvolt!
Riley
I am going to be remodeling my basement this winter and then building a shed as soon as the snow melts. With these projects the sliding miter saw would be my choice.
Thank you for the opportunity and I have no problem with the ads. The bills have to get paid somehow and it shows that you really put thought into what ads you post.
Brian
I would love a flexvolt sliding miter saw. I am an avid DIY and home wood worker. I would use the project to work on our house.
Bert
Thank you! I would like to win the compound miter saw. I just want to add that I enjoy you reviews very much! Keep up the good work.
Jesse
My choice would have to be the cordless table saw. It’s the last tool in my way of complete cord & hose eradication. My 20v max 7 1/4″ miter saw, framing gun, & brushless leaf blower (perfect carpenter clean up tool) have absolutely been kicking ass for me since I bought them when they were all released.
Koko the Talking Ape
I would want that sweet 12″ double-bevel compound sliding miter saw. I build furniture, and that saw would let me cut stock to length faster and more accurately.
Thanks!
Ryan
I don’t want to be lucky; I just want to win. I want to win so I can get a miter saw for my woodworking hobby. I would choose the 12 in Dewalt Flexvolt miter saw. Right now I’m working with a hand-me-down 10 in Skil single bevel miter saw that has seen better days. This would be a HUGE upgrade for me and allow me to do some bigger furniture projects that I have been interested in for quite a while.
If you have read this far, you might as well go ahead and make I wish come true!
Oleg Kuperman
The fact that you’re willing to pay for the tools that you spend time promoting speaks volumes about you, to say the least, I think that this kind of attitude is the reason I like toolguyd more than any other tool blog… Speaking of Flexvolt though – I see DeWalt pouring tons of money into promoting this new platform, which is great and all but I think that the money would be better spent on the R&D, because some of the mistakes they made with these tools are unforgivable!
Let’s take the circular saw , for instance, (I only discuss the tools I either have personally or have to use at work), where is the rafter hook? Seriously, think about it: this saw Is amazing, has everything :power, ergonomics, robustness, light weight and a shoe that can take a lot of abuse for years… And no rafter hook? How about an led or a laser to show you where the cut is going? Or including a rip fence attachment into the $300 package from the get go?
The circular saw, however, is a true champ when you compare it to the reciprocating saw that, DeWalt swore, was a 15 amp-equivalent winner… Why is the blade on cheaper models able to do 4 positions and on this Brushless, heavy duty super-saw only two? And the weight of this product, where do the 3 extra pounds over what the sawzall weights come from? What about the vibration reduction? It’s nearly impossible to hold it for long periods, especially overhead, cutting rebar is a real nightmare… It’s very well made quality-wise, I think you can run it over with a tank and nothing will happen to it but damn, it’s a premium product and NO ORBITAL ACTION??? Why?..
Finally, I want to point out the simple fact that all the consumables, other than an occasional battery, are nowhere to be found at Home Depot. The Flexvolt tools are meant to be used with accessories engineered and manufactured especially for them and yet, time and time again I try to find a single blade inside the Home Depot (or anywhere else) and I am constantly referred to Amazon and other places that are not accessible via car!
I also wanted to mention the non flexvolt related issue that I have with DeWalt: the 16 ga angled nailer you guys made is pure excellence, despite the useless LED lights and the lack of a dry fire lockout, however, WHERE ARE THE NAILS? Your gun is at every single Home Depot store, some carry both bare tool and the kit, however, the angled nails that you, DeWalt, make are nowhere to be found, ever, even on the Home Depot website they’re always sold out, so we have to buy Paslode instead. When I bought this nail gun I was told that it was the single best 16 gauge nailer out there and I agree, even though there are a couple of small problems that I mentioned earlier, however, part of the buying decision was the fact that I knew I could resupply the nails at my local Home Depot store, that’s what Dewalt’s rep promised when I was on the phone with him. It might not sound like a very big deal to most but I almost lost a project because I couldn’t get nails to finish fastening the oak and got in trouble with both the property manager and the owner and I can’t afford to lose any work after being robbed twice this year, maybe if I mention this stupidity here Dewalt will actually react and send Home Depot some nails so their semi-loyal customers don’t have to complain on the excellent blog such as this one and ruin everyone’s mood!
To toolguyd: Keep up the good work and happy holidays!
Shan West
I’d choose the table saw. There’s almost nothing I own (tool wise) that isn’t the yellow & black. Is there anything else? Thanks to the price tip you provided a few weeks ago I picked up the “special buy” 120 v sliding miter saw.
I plan to build my own home, so the table saw would get plenty of use.
ChrisP
Incredible Xmas present for somebody! Don’t mind at all that this tied to the advertising. You are always up front and give an honest opinion so wouldn’t be concerned if DeWalt were donating the prizes either.
I would probably choose the DCS388B because I don’t have a recip saw and I would use it frequently if I had one & the DCG414B Grinder to replace my old corded 4 inch.
Thanks
Stewart Pribe
I work in a 29 story office building and already have DeWalt tools, so I could add any one of those to my collection
Antonio
If I won, I’d pick the miter saw. I m a handy man
William h
Really is an awesome giveaway more like discover how to really fall in love with dewalt. I believe would honored to be gifted the 20 volt hammer drill. I’ve been working a lot with masonary and stucco around the house more so. thanks and happy holidays
John Holmes
If I won I would definitely have to get the table saw, becuase mine is nonexistent. I would use it to do rip cuts when I install hardwood flooring at work, but I would break it in installing my new (to me) 3/4″ solid brazilian cherry floors in my house.
Dan
I sure could use that miter saw for an upcoming house remodel
Shannon J.
If I were to be so lucky, I would choose the miter saw. My wife has a long honey do list that it would help knock out. There is currently a porch she wants replaced that would go well with it.
Contests tied to ads don’t bother me as long as all the info is clearly posted and not hidden in the fine print. You know who to really send thanks to if you so happen to win.
Jason
i WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THE FIXED MITER SAW. I currently have a sliding 12 in miter saw and in my small shop it burns a lot of space. it would be great for the never ending remodeling of our home.
Thanks for the opportunity ToolGuyd!!!
Edward Wijntuin
i really would like to win the miter saw, mostly to replace my cheapo ryobi model. i’m a starting woodworker and i can’t spend enough time in the shop. as i’m learning i experience the limitations the budget tools have and i am slowly grading up, as my budget allows. so a free tool (any free tool) would be really welcome!
CHRISTOPHER HORAN
12in sliding miter saw , I am going to build a barn door style garage door for my carport…
Josh Cook
I would choose the Grinder kit. I am trying to start a welding business on the side of my normal job. This grinder is everything a welder/ fabricator has dreams about! Thank you for giving all of us the chance to win these products!
Carlo Lopez
I would be that saw .
Lee Dung
Santa come to my town please. haha. Miter saw would be perfect to me. i’m DIYer. i’m gonna buy combo DCK299d1t1 and DCS575T1 . And if i’m lucky … that was .. haha
Thanks!
Chris
I’d go with the sliding miter saw and sell my current miter saw. After that I’d really have to think about selling my current cordless and switching to these (at least my 18volt). One of my first projects would to be to rebuild the out side of a barn in the spring. This tool would really help with that!!!
William
Thanks for the giveaway,
I’d go for the grinder, although the miter saw is tempting, I have small home, and I have a perfectly adequate miter saw.
That grinder looks awesome, would use it for general grinding tasks and to try my hand at welding, which is my next long term project.
John
If Iwere to win I would use the miter saw to build my kids a large outdoor playset with swings and a slide. I would probably finish the flooring installation in my house. Sure would be cool!
Joel
Hi Stuart,
Thanks for the incredible giveaway and for all of the great information you give us here at ToolGuyd. The picture of the upcoming track saw looks very tempting, but so is the sliding miter saw. I especially like the fact that it can be used corded or cordless. I have been wanting to build some wooden toys for the kids and a worm composting bin not to mention the various projects that come up around the house. Either saw would be great as my current circular saw is corded and has a bent shoe, so I generally end up just using a hand saw.
J.J. Monteiro
AWESOME giveaway!!!
For me it would be the 12″ sliding compound miter saw, DHS 790, I love the idea of the cutline indicator lighting system but have not had the opportunity to use one as of yet. If I were to win I would put it to good use on the addition I am putting onto my house.
Michael Anselmo
If I win I’ll pick the miter saw. Im just starting getting into wood working and I would use it to do crown molding, redo the base boards and window trim around my house.
Rob
Hey Stuart, great concept. Allows for more reader interaction while still keeping things impartial for your reviews. I’d have to go with the miter saw too and fill up the remaining money with batteries and grinders. Yah can never have enough grinders….or was that clamps….or was it hammers……well there are no flexvolt clamps or hammers so grinder it is!
Elias
As a new father the “honey do list” just exploded. The DHS790AT2 would go a long way to making the list easier to handle. I am currently working with a circa 1980 something Craftsman hand me down miter saw, that is truly on its last legs. The deck needs to be rebuilt, she would love a distressed wood wall in the nursery that I would like to do for my Baby girl. Not to mention in time the basement will need to be finished for a second living area. I currently has a few 20V Dewalt, tools drill/Driver and weed whip so the extra batteries would be huge. Maybe even splurge and get the wife a heated jacket, it gets cold up here in Michigan. You could single handily help make the wife much happier, as they say happy wife happy life.
Gary Ratajczak
The Sliding Compound saw would be AWESOME. Between home and camp, there is always a project going on. It is a pain in the but to get everything out and hooked up for a cut or two. Having it at ready access would be terrific!!
Leon
Table saw. I have the 20v miter and I use it all the time, mostly becuase its easy to quickly bring where I’m working because of both the weight and battery power. Most of the DIY projects I do have that same need for material cut on the table saw. Which means I’m constantly running back and forth to the garage to make cuts. A small battery operated table saw would be great for that work, and being that it has corded power, you’re not really comprising much. So table saw it is…
Kyle
I’d probably go with the sliding compound saw. My best friend is a contractor who has been down on his luck. He has turned his life around recently and has been working with me on remodels for the last three months. He’s been buying his tools back slowly but he still needs to buy a truck so larger price tag items are out of the question. I’d give him the saw if I won it. He’d use it on all kinds of job sites and he’d love the hell out of it as he is a DeWalt guy through and through.
Brandon
If I won I would like the brushless circular saw. I have been waiting for Dewalt to release a brushless version of the circular saw. I use my circular saw all the time and it would be nice not to have to drag extension cords around to where I am working.
I would use the saw for general home improvement tasks that I have been neglecting.
Dan
This is really tough… I have the DeWalt budget 20V circular saw, and I don’t particularly like it so replacing that is a natural course of action. I use that to break down plywood and for outside home improvement projects, like replacing the deck steps. I would use the new FlexVolt circular saw for the same tasks, but it’s clearly a much better tool.
That said, the VSR drill looks really cool. I don’t have much (if any?) use for it. But gee, for a giveaway prize, why not take something that I would never buy for myself, right? Of course, the sliding miter saw would also be great. Or the table saw. Or… well, all of them are great prizes. Thanks for the opportunity!
Joshua Earl
I’d take DCS575T2. Most the other tools I use work fine on 20v but I am excited to see a real 7.25″ circular saw on 60V. I need to build 4 sheds on my property so I can reclaim the garage from storage and this would be perfect for that!
Cory
Id either upgrade from my entry level miter saw to the Dewalt sliding miter saw, or the table saw. I would be using them to help build/finish my Garage so I can have a dedicated work shop space as well as somewhere to park the cars when we get crazy hail storms in Colorado.
I just want to say the website/forum are an awesome wealth of knowledge and I really appreciate the work you guys put in. Contests like this are awesome, it’s really cool seeing you guys give back like this.
Randy Shelley
I would definitely want the sliding mitre saw. I have multiple rentals that I am responsible for maintaining and portability is key. A lot of time, power has been turned off at the sites and this would allow me to perform many tasks without having to lug a generator around with me.
Jeremy Hill
Thank you for Christmas spirit of generosity!
The 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790 would be of great help in my current remodeling projects.
Brian Kohlenberg
Woow, what a lot of great comments and project to be had.
I’m looking to upgrade from Ryobi, i recently learned Dewalt makes more of there tools in the USA then Ryobi and feel the need to help bring back american jobs.
The HAL School Drama Set Construction Class and i would like to win the Sliding Compound Miter Saw Kit! DHS790AT2. I, like John F. above, Love the fact that you can run it corded or cordless! Our builds are outdoors way from power outlet. Additionaly, with the saw we will retire our circular saw from framing duty so now all our cuts will be 90° and fit perfect.
Thanks Tool Guyd,
-Brian Kohlenberg
Robert
I’d go for the miter saw; space limitations mean I have to resort to using a cheap 10″ benchtop bandsaw or a circular saw for all of my cuts and choosing between jagged, imprecise cuts or tedious setup time for just one or two cuts is starting to get to me.
Thanks for running this giveaway and for all of the content!
Reflector
I know Dewalt released their 20V Max (18V) tracksaw in Europe and I’m surprised they haven’t considered making 60V version (Would be real interesting given the power of the 7-1/4″ 60V circ) outright with some revamps to dust collection (That’s something the Dewalt tracksaw is poor at, especially compared to the Festool and Mafell).
Curiously: It looks like the 7-1/4″ circ has a little screw for attaching a dust collection fitting. Looks like they unified it with their European lineup. Milwaukee apparently doesn’t do that…
Bob B
I’m recently retired and have a lot of projects where a new miter saw would be great.
Matthew Schulz
I would pick the sliding compound miter saw. The current one that I have is a cheap 10” and is not very accurate. having the option to be cordless is an added bonus.
Robbie J.
I’d definitely take the 12″ Miter Saw. A full size cordless miter saw sounds like it would the coolest and most handy tool out there! I am supposed to help a buddy finish his patio cover soon and this would be a great addition!
Matthew Mckillop
I am currently building an off grid home in the woods in Maine. I’ve finished all the rough framing and am starting to move onto finish work. I’d love to use the miter saw to make all the finish cuts that are needed for interior walls and trim.
Russ D
The DHS790 is just what I need – finally good quality cordless tools that compete with corded! No compromises….
Cory
I would consider either the drill and impact or the circular saw and gift them to my father in law, he is a fantastic man and a big part of my life, he could use an upgrade in tools. I have been looking at tablesaw’s, but have been unable to put together the funds to purchase one. Good luck reading all these comments
Renato
The table saw would my pick, currently don’t own one and would
be a great help with the many projects and repairs I have to do in
and around the house. Thanks !
Shane
Um…can you say I’d take any of them?! What an awesome giveaway! I would definitely take the Sliding Compound Miter Saw. There are so many uses for it, and having one that awesome would tempt me to sit in my garage and cut scrap wood until the blade dulls! But, seriously, from cutting studs for framing to cutting base and other trim, this saw would be a huge asset to the work I do to provide for our family as I finish seminary. Plus, it’d be fun to make some more of the “homemade toys” with my oldest two children. My wife absolutely loves them … or not, haha!
Whoever wins will surely be blessed by this, thanks Stuart!
Todd
Wow, what an awesome giveaway! If I was the lucky winner I would definitely chose the FlexVolt sliding compound miter saw kit!
Todd
Choose that is…
Jams Shop
Definitely the drill and driver combo kit! My Ryobi’s just aren’t cutting it. Or should I say drilling it?
Andrew Wederquist
The sliding compound miter saw. Trim work, their is never enough outlets in new construction, problem solved with this thing!
Chris Gachot
Miter Saw!
To build my son the fort/treehouse he has been wanting in the back yard.
Dan White
I would like a mitre saw, or table saw. I am expanding my cabinet shop, and those would work great for installs on site where there are power restrictions.
Ken H
I would want DEWALT DCS7485T1 FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Table Saw Kit, 8-1/4″. I would use the table saw mostly for ripping boards and I would love to have the portability of cordless.
Maryland Living
Circular Saw, DCS575:
I have a large honey-do-list that requires flexibility like the circular saw. I would also use it to help build a tree house and eventually a dog house.
Nathan
I’d have to pick the miter saw. Been looking at replacing my older Craftsman that is less accurate than I’d like. The increased capacity would be nice too.
Drew
It’s definitely hard to pick but I might go with the circular saw, my 18v dewalt circular saw is still kicking but the new one is probabky 50x more powerful. I’m currently remodeling my house and it would come in handy. The power bank also sounds like it would be a great thing to have while tailgating.
Mr. Creek
Flexvolt chainsaw! I just bought a house that needs some tree pruning. My neighbor wants my trees to die so complains, even calling the cops, about the too loud and horrific sound of my chainsaw. I CAN’T WAIT to see the look on her face using Dewalts brushless 60v chainsaw.
Robert Johnson
I would love to have a track saw kit!! It would make my life so much easier in my one car garage to have a TS to breakdown sheets of plywood for projects.
Derek
Just the drill and impact for me. Dck299. Need it to replace my old 18v dewalt drill from 6ish years ago. Between all my hobby woodworking and helping my dad to replace his deck boards next year it would really come in handy. The cordless circular saw would be awesome too, but I don’t want to be greedy.
Dan
I would pick the miter saw. I’ve heard the dust collection is good and it would be great for interior remodels.
Christian
I would choose the mitre saw. I just became a contractor and have bought into the whole 20v max line by dewalt. It would be awesome to go completely cordless in 2017 starting with this mitre saw.
Jerry Seymour
DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery. Would use it for everything! (except welding)
Chrisk1970
I would pick the Flexvolt Miter saw so I could use it to help me frame in my basement!
Jesús Sanchez
I’d have to go with the sliding miter saw. I just purchased my first home and my wife’s dream has always been to have a porch swing, so the saw would facilitate that. I have ideas rolling around for built in bookshelves. I also plan on installing a lift system in my attic to facilitate storing our seasonal items. Honestly, the possibilities are endless!
Nick
I read this site religiously but have never been compelled to post… until now! What a great give away! Like many, the Sliding Mitre saw would have to be my pic. I’ve been drooling over the Milwaukee battery powered mitre saw for a while but would happily be turned to the black and yellow side of the force! Anyway thanks for all your hard work… This is, in my humble opinion, the best organized source of information and reviews for tools on the web and with or without a new “bumble bee” saw I will continue to be a dedicated follower!
Tim
I’d go for the miter saw. My FRC robotics team uses all Dewalt tools, and just got a couple new drills and lights and such, finally made the jump to lithium from the old nicad we had. But they didn’t get a new miter saw, to replace ours that can’t hold square for more more than two cuts. And worse has had so many blade changes going between wood and a non-ferrous blade for all the aluminum on the bot (and students who aren’t that careful or know what they’re doing making the change) that the arbor is close to being completely stripped. Plus the flex volt batteries would help as spares for their drills and lights when we’re not moving the miter saw around since it’s now cordless, I think right now we only have one spare battery for 3 drills, which are usually all in use simultaneously during build season.
Rafael
Flexvolt double bevel sliding compound miter saw would be a great addition. I have started to build some shelves for the garage and that 16 inch rip capacity and 90 degrees would be very helpful as they are about 15 inch wide boards. I still have more to build this spring. Thanks for the awesome giveaway.
Steve W
Miter saw followed by the table saw. As a new first time homeowner, and of a fixer upper no less, without a lot of DIY experience, the tool collection is pretty bare. As the long list of projects is being tackled, learning new skills has being very rewarding and I have discovered I really enjoy not only the satisfaction of completing things myself and that feeling of accomplishment, but the whole process of planning and getting things done. I think all of this has tempted me to try my hand at more ambitious projects (building an outbuilding/garage maybe?) and possibly trying my hand at furniture construction. ToolGuyd was one of the resources that i came across time and time again while doing research and has become a daily staple. The community have also proven to be incredibly knowledgeable and combined with Stuart and Benjamin’s expertise, that has cultivated a truly unique resource on the web. Thanks so much guys! Enjoy the Holidays!
P.S. – I also really enjoy the posts discussing the business aspect of the decisions of the tool companies and M&As, and even your own like motives like the structure of this giveaway.
Steve W
Benjamen rather, apologies!
Kelly D
I would like the DeWalt 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw DHS790 for a shelving project we are doing this spring.
Jim McLaughlin
I would get the 60v stud drill and the recip saw perfect for my uses as an electrician
James
Wow very cool! I would pick the miter saw for sure. I can easily see my old 10″ non slider single bevel being replaced with this one. So much capacity! I am starting to do more and more woodworking and I can’t tell you how many times I could use a sliding miter saw for wider stock. And since my miter saw moves all over during projects, due to space needs (on the floor, on the workbench), the flexvolt would be perfect.
James R.
DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery
I picked the Miter saw because I’m interested in building furniture for myself and my family, as well as all of the other wonderful home-projects this could build.
My wife has been itching for a farm-style table for the kitchen, and I refuse to buy a manufactured farm table on principal.
I’d definitely use the Miter saw to get accurate, perfect cuts for many years to come!
Thank you for such an awesome site and contest. You’re the best!
Happy Holidays!!
HV
I’d love that FlexVolt table saw. Currently rebuilding some closets and this would be an awesome addition!
Neil Rosen
Gotta love the cordless table saw. The sliding miter saw is a close second but the ability to rip material on site fast and easy and cordless…hard to pass up
Keep up the amazing job you are doing!
Be well
Neil
Chris
I am really interested in the Charging station / portable power unit DCB1800M3T1, I have a moderate sized collection of 20v tools. The stud drill and grinder are the only tools of the flexvolt line that i dont already cover with 20v max or corded versions. So having the charging /power station would allow all tools to run on the new wireless standard.
In addition it would help keep the charging area neat and tidy with only 1 charging station instead of 3-4 separate ones.
R Dogg
Seeing as I am fortunate to already have a perfectly nice Dewalt 12″ Mitre saw, I’d have to go for the DEWALT DCD460T2 60V MAX 2 Battery FLEXVOLT Stud Joist Drill Kit, 1/2″. That would make life a whole lot easier reworking the electrical (and some plumbing while I’m in there) in my entire house to update the old stuff. Walls coming down, walls going up – this would help speed up the job for sure. TIA
Matt
I’d get the miter saw. Bought an older house not to long ago and have many projects that need to be addressed.
Pat M
I would go with the cordless miter saw. My father in law already has Dewalt cordless tools, and he would use it to finish building the play house he is building for my kids
Pat M

Tim Medlin
The cordless compound miter saw would be perfect for jobs around the house and away.
Dale
If I won, I’d easily go for the big miter…where I live, we’re always working in multi-story environments, so anything cordless just means fewer trips up and down stairs with buckets full of cords! Also really curious to see how it compares to the DWS780..which is a joy to work with. Happy holidays everyone
MarkC
Always dreamed of a 12″ sliding miter saw. I would use it to build a few shelves in my garage.
Jon
I’m building a new house (well I’m not building it), but there’s no lack of projects to start on once we move in. I’ve got a pretty good set of hand-me down tools currently, but for sheer capability I’d have to choose the “12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790”. First on the list is mudroom built-ins and fireplace built-ins and I think that would go a long way.
mike foley
Whoo Hoo Look at all the entries!!!! Sign me up for the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790 !!!
What can I say…loyal reader and TOOL fan-atic!
Don B
there are a few options here that intrigue me. to me this is the equivalentof someone handing me the keys to a porsche dealership and telling me to pick whatever i want! Gadzooks!!! I own quite a few dewalt tools and have been craving a flexvolt battery to replace my non lithium ion 18volt batteries nearing end of life. I’m really interested in eyeing w a elzvolt battery can do with my cordless vacuum! All that if I had to choose just one of the options above id have to pick a tool I desire but do not possess. The cordless table saw would be the dream here! Here’s to hoping! Thanks for the opportunity and Merry Christmas!!!
Dillon Corr
I would love the flexvolt table saw. My current table saw was pulled out of the company dumpster… and is older than me! I am putting in custom melamine shelving in our new master closet as funding becomes available… and would like to be able to use a saw with no wobble!
James
As I have fairly recently upgraded table saws, drill and impact driver, but have an aging and cheap miter saw, I am thinking the DHS790 Miter Saw set! As to what I’d build? I work in computers for a living, but have over the past few years added two bedrooms into my house, remodeled another that my wife used to live in… Looking forward to many projects in the coming year including building a better workshop and shed (outdoors) and refurbishing trim/crown mouldings/baseboards/flooring and finishing basement projects in my own house… Along with a new patio/pergola… I am 99.999% sure this would be useful in many of those projects, along with the possibility of beginning to do small contractor jobs on the side. 🙂
Jason
I’d choose the sliding compound miter saw, DHS790. We’re putting in new wood flooring and baseboards and it would be nice to be able to use such a nice tool for that.
Steven Beitz
I’d probably go with the sliding compound miter DHS790 to replace the HF special that was intended just to get me through a project… more than 4 years ago! With a new house and more space, lots of space to fill with new projects!
Kent
Awesome giveaway!
One more person who needs a compound miter saw.
Joel L.
If I won, I would go with the fixed head compound miter saw. I am starting to build out a shop in my garage and this would be a great addition.
Austin
Wow – I’d love to win a miter saw.
Ben
I would definitely go for the DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit with 2 Batteries. I love the portable and power of this!
Rob @ RHHS
Wow, very generous contest! Thank you!
If I won I would choose the Power Station kit DCB1800M3T1.
I own a home service company and find that I frequently need a tool for just a few cuts. Often it takes more time to break out an extension cord and setup than to make the cuts. I’ve worked out a solution to this with dewalt’s flexvolt table saw and miter saw. The missing part is dust collection. I can’t effectively capture dust at the tool with today’s cordless vacuums. The power station would let me set up my vacuum without wasting time with extension cords.
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy New Year to all.
Joseph Mandel
The flexvolt grinder would be amazing for all the over head welding and grinding I do. Dragging cords into tight places inside, around, or underneath machinery is a real pain in the rear.
Clint F.
The table saw for working on our house addition and remodel.
Johan H
This is legit!
I would choose the sliding miter saw if I was chosen! I don’t own one and the one I have access to is less than good. I would use it for everything! LOL. I do maintenance at a school. I appreciate the time and effort you put into ToolGuyd! Thanks for all the info and deals you supply us with!
Merry Christmas!
Matt
I’d be all about getting a cordless circ saw and recip saw. Not sure what I’d want beyond that…. options!
Woodchuck
I would likely buy the work light, but maybe the miter saw. I seem to be somewhat deficient in area lighting, so it’s the logical need. But a saw that I can use out in the yard sounds appealing too! I’m doing a barn next summer, and running a jumbo cord for incidentals doesn’t sound fun.
Jaineesh joshi
I would love to win the DEWALT DCS7485B FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Bare Tool Table Saw, 8-1/4″, I am woodworker and hobbyist who also helps other people in building things from wood, just passing down the knowledge!! I don’t have a table saw and always wanted to buy a dewalt table saw as I have used to before any buddy’s place and it cuts awesome!! Plus the 32″ rip capacity is the industry’s best as no other saw I have researched has this!!
Joseph Jetton
I would take the Brushless 7-1/4″ Circular Saw, DCS575. it would be used in my home shop building projects for Grandkids and other family members.
Greg B
I would definitely pick the cordless table saw, it would be a huge relief to have something safer than the ancient contractor’s saw I have now. Avoiding projects because they require using a table saw has gotten old quick during the course of renovating my new (to me) hundred year old house! Thanks for running such an awesome giveaway!
Richard G.
I love this site! Spent so much $ on tools over the last three? years because of it 🙂 This is the first website I’m opening on my computer, before anything else .
I doubt that I win but in case this miracle would happen, I’d like to have this new mitter saw. Or at least a table saw as an optional present. I could finally start a project to extend my roof over a back porch.
Leon Nguyen
I’d need a bottle of water to offset the drool caused by these tools.
Chris
I would definitely use the DEWALT FLEXVOLT Brushless Premium Hammer Drill and Impact Combo Kit as my primary drill and driver set.
David Funk
I would like the FlexvoltSDS Max hammer drill but it’s not out yet, my second choice would be the portable power station. I’ve already got a few of another’s Thank you for the opportunity Toolguyd!
Mike J
Absolutely the table saw! I need one pretty bad, and this would be perfect given my storage constraints. Thanks!!
Travis H
If I was selected I would pick the miter saw! I would use it for various projects around the house. I already own Dewalt’s 7-1/4″ 20V Miter saw and would love to have the full size miter saw!
Thanks and Merry Christmas!
Brandon
I could really use a 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790 tom rebuild my deck and front porch along with many other projects around my house.
Leon Nguyen
12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790
thank you for this giveaway
Dean K.
Id love to say pick me pick me… but I never win.. so Pick the BEST winner! Should I win, Id love to get a hold of the Flexvolt DHS790AT2 kit. That thing is the beast to end all beasts. I have a dedicated woodshop where I build you know, woodshoppy things. I have my dads old Rockwell/delta super 990 turret Radial Arm Saw for cross cutting. It takes forever to get that thing lined up to cut 90 degrees so I never, ever try and cut angles with it. Id love to get the Dewalt Slider in my shop so I can make all those fancy cuts I try to avoid now. The best part of the whole system is that you can use A/C or D/C.. how cool is that? Best of both worlds. I almost bought the competitions product but since it didn’t have the A/C option I passed. This Saw is meant to last me 20+ years. Couldn’t guarantee that the competition would continue making battery packs in 20 years so I passed. With the Dewalt, this is not a factor and the Saw is portable around the homestead.. No electricity required!
Aaron G.
12″ Sliding miter saw for sure! I’ve got an old sliding majors that has a bad bearing and it’s definitely time for an upgrade. Also the portability of cordless would be amazing. Plenty of trim work to use it on.
Rick
I would select the table saw to help with my kitchen renovation. Thanks.
Geoff
Toolguyd rocks and if this requires a bit more advertising it is worth the tradeoff.
I think I’d have to choose the sliding miter saw. The double bevel and the sliding cut capacity would be super handy. No more flipping boards over and making 2 cuts match up when I build a table.
Dan H
The miter or table saw would be fantastic for building scenery and on-site installation, especially not needing to drag a cord around!
THY
Miter saw would be the best bet due to portability and lack of power outlets especially with the clapboard residing project planned for next spring, definitely beats running the power cord. The promo page showed some future tools for 2017. Had I known that they were making a cordless tracksaw I would have waited before I purchased the corded DWS520. Cords are always in the way!
Fritz
I’d choose the circular saw and the reciprocating saw. I’d use them to finish the remodel of my basement. The circular saw would supplement a great (and extremely heavy) Ryobi I brought over 20 years ago. The reciprocating saw has been long needed but never in the budget.
Garry J
I’d love to have the DHS790 Sliding Miter Saw as be my first choice and the DCL070 Bluetooth Area Worklight would be a great second option.
Having the portability of a saw like that is great when doing framing jobs or building furniture.
Jason Holloway
If I win I’ll choose the sliding miter saw. Our garage burned last week with all my tools and my wife’s 2017 Chrysler Pacifica so I would first use it build a new garage in the spring.
Abhishek
Like I posted in the other giveaway thread, I would love to get my hands on the Drill and Impact driver kit as I have a 3000sq ft false ceiling to build among other things.
Andy
Hey there, I’m a residential carpenter in a congested city working out of pickup truck with a cap. I would love to own a battery operated sliding miter saw for those tricky times where one outlet is shared between a handful of trades but due to the limited space i have to store my tools on the move it would need to fully replace my corded miter saw. Dewalt is the only company right now that I think can do that.
Raj
I would definitely choose the miter saw. Having a portable one to use around the house for baseboard and crown moulding projects would be a huge help!
shopjean
Sliding miter saw DHS790. This will improve the job site efficiency and adds a platform to increase the tool options.
shopjean
Flexvolt looks promising for improving the job site tool portability and increasing their capacity.
Zhong
12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw is the choice. If i win, I will use it in my basement renovation project.
Scott
If I won, I’d pick the DHS790 miter saw. I would use it for remodeling my house and all the other projects I come up with in between.
Travis
Thank you for the time and effort you dedicate to this subject that is so near and dear to our hearts. Don’t let a little advertising bother you. It is very clear you make a true effort to be as objective as possible in all reviews and ratings.
As for the giveaway. I could really use the cordless sliding compound miter saw. There are some trim jobs that need to get done in the spring. Plus some toy storage is needed for the playroom. The saw would be really helpful.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Good luck to all and congratulations to the winners!!
MattC
I hope I win! New to site and was referred by my friend.
If I win, I would have to pick the planer and tablesaw. These would be used to make more slab tables and benches. I’ve been planing my planks the old fashioned way so far, and haven’t picked up an electric planer. I’m not sure why, maybe it’s because I like the exercise of running a plane manually over my boards. Because I’m not always cutting boards, a smaller more portable tablesaw it perfect in my little shop. My current tablesaw is mothballed because I don’t have the room for it in my garage.
Thank you for this took giveaway!!
Tom
I would go for the sliding miter saw. Not sure that I really need it, but I have found the limit of my Craftsman cheapo saw. It has worked fine for cutting lumber, but the fence is never square, how much ever I tinker with it. I have a lot of cabinets that need to get built, so I think that this would be a huge….. massive… step up.
Connor Schmidt
Golly, I’d love to have any of these tool sets. I do hobby/household project woodworking. I’d say the ones that are most interesting to me are:
The the 20V Hammer drill and impact driver combo: I currently don’t have either a hammer drill or impact driver. I’d be especially excited about the impact because I currently only have an old 18v dewalt drill. I strip a lot of screws.
The 120V sliding miter saw would be nice. I have a ryobi sliding miter which has a lot of play in all of it’s moving parts which translates to poor cuts.
The 60V grinder would be awesome. I don’t have a grinder. The dewalt wired version has been sitting in my Amazon wishlist for a long time. Cordless would be amazing!
The reciprocating saw would also be great. I have two boxes of diablo blades that my buddy gave me from an auction lot but no recip saw to use them in.
Thanks for considering me!
Nick
I just recently was wishing I had the 120v miter saw! It’s about the only accurate way to cut the angles on the cable tray I installed, and would have saved me boatloads of time!
Bryan Waddell
I would love to win the kit. My workshop/shed is only 12×16 and I’m busting out of the seams. I need to build an addition to my shop as well as a grill table for my Kamado Joe grill. Thanks for sponsoring the contest!
Jims2ltime
The cordless double-miter miter saw. I’m the family handyman.
Ruben
If i won, i would want the DEWALT FLEXVOLT 120v Compound Miter Saw Kit. I would use it for various home (condo) improvement projects! My dad was always a DIY kind of guy and as a new homeowner i would love to continue the legacy. So far a have a kitchen remodel and partial bathroom remodel under my belt. I would use the tool for new baseboards and crown molding first
Shawn Walker
I would love to win the 12″ sliding miter saw, it would be a perfect fit for my garage workshop and will help out on numerous projects i have going on, including finishing a basement.
Roland Soltesz
If I won I would pick the cordless miter saw. It is a great looking kit that I would love to use in the homes that I am working on. I have several rental properties and want to get more actively involved in purchasing and flipping houses.
Eric B
I have been looking at the Flexvolt sliding miter saw as both a general saw upgrade and for the cordless capability. I am in the process of building a shed and a gazebo on our property far from any existing electricity and a stationary saw would be great (or if the portable power station is included in the giveaway that would be awesome too for the same reason, would love to not have to mess with a generator and I already have a pile of 20v max and now Flexvolt batteries around).
I think a giveaway is great. Ads and interaction with relevant brands that produce high quality products seems completely appropriate to me. At this point, I check Toolguyd daily, and whenever I learn about a product from the site that I choose to purchase I attempt to use the provided affiliate link as a way of saying thanks.
Paul
I’d get the 8-1/4″ Cordless Table Saw, DCS7485. Why? I’ve been wanting a table saw to do more cabinet carpentry around the house, and my situation requires me to go out in the back yard to perform any such work. This would be way easier with a cordless, though I couldn’t justify that since I’m not professional. Anyway, thanks for doing this give-away!!
Mike D
I’d have to go with the miter saw. It would definitely help get me motivated to build the walk-in closet I’ve been promising the wife.
John
Awesome Giveway Stuart!
If the table saw accepted dado blades that would be my choice but it doesn’t so I’m going to have to go mitersaw. I’ve got a project coming up in the spring requiring cutting a bunch of PT 6x6s away from any real power source so a cordless mitersaw would beat using a cordless circular or recip saw.
Jared McCarthy
The 12″ cordless miter saw would be perfect for me being a self employed contractor just starting out building post frame buildings!
Dan LaMee
I’d love to win the Dewalt DHS790AT2 compound miter saw! I’m a hobbyist currently working on a board game cabinet and it would have made a lot of the cuts much easier and repeatable!
Mark S.
I have to go with the table saw…it’s one of the few tools I don’t have that I need for woodworking and such. It’s got the power and the flexibility I can use for projects around the house and I can finally start working on my children’s wood toys.
Michael
I would love the 120v Sliding Compound Miter Saw. I’ve owned the corded version of this since 2006, and the saw is still going strong. I’m glad to hear they have come out with these new battery variants, and hope they start releasing some yard tools that take advantage of the new power specs of the new batteries. A leaf blower that uses the flexvolt battery would be very nice that way I can still use the battery on my 20v stuff.
Ed Misley
I would love a sliding compound miter saw. DHS790AT2 I would use it in my hobby wood shop.
Michael Fabian
As a young dad with two little girls my next project is a playset for the backyard. being a carpenter at heart i will likely build it from scratch and i would choose that Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit, DCK299, to help finish the job. The way I see it is that I get to play with the tools by building my girls the play set then they get to play on the set when its done. talk about a win win!
Tom R
All of the Flex volt tools look amazing and any would be a great addition to continue remodeling our house. The most useful one to me would be the sliding miter saw. The “honey do” list is never ending and a kitchen remodel is next on the list…new floor, take down a wall, build island. Thanks toolguyd!
Dennis Russo
I think I’d go with the power station if I were to win. I already have four flexvolt 60v batteries so combining them would give me a nice little piece of kit I think!
Scott
Thanks for the opportunity! If I won, I’d choose the DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12″ Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery. I’m in the middle of re-trimming my whole house, and my current, old, corded miter saw trips the 15A breaker in my garage 50% of the time I use it. Very frustrating.
Corey Moore
Circular saw all the way! Building our house for the wife, toddler, and our brand new son (2 weeks old), and that’ll be absolutely perfect to close the gap between my 20v 6.5 and worm drive
Megan Ricewick
I love my husband, and he wants the 12″ miter saw combo (so he can build me a table).
Daniel Janczur
If I won I would pick the miter saw as the ability to have a full-size miter would be very beneficial to making repairs/upgrades to storage barns in remote areas (Northwoods WI) without electricity access.
Kyle W
Amazing giveaway! I’ve had my eye on the Flexvolt DCS7485 for sometime now.
I’ve gone from owning no power tools and living in a 330 sq ft apartment 2 years ago, to now owning a 1600 sq ft 80’s ranch home. Attached is a 10’x12′ storage room’ that I’ve been slowly turning into a shop.
I’ve checked out your website each day on my lunch break and have purchased a few of Dewalt 20v tools based on your reviews (brushless drill, 7 1/4 cordless miter saw) and consider myself locked into the Dewalt system.
I’ve been utilizing every sq ft of volume in my shop for storage, building small furniture piece for my wife and toys for my toddler son. It’s been a great love to finally have a shop, but doing straight cuts with a borrowed curricular saw and a clamped level every time doesn’t make the process a speedy one.
This spring, I’ve got my eye on building an outdoor play structure for my kid-o. Home Depot sells the slide, swing, polls, and kid friendly ‘climbing rocks’. I would love to have this all done before spring hits and he could play outside on a structure that I made from him.
Keep up the great work, ToolGuyd team!
Aaron
I would absolutely love to get the FlexVolt Miter Saw! I’ve never used a miter saw but would love to have one to build a nice treehouse for my nieces this Spring! Thank you Stuart!
Droel
Very cool that you’re doing this. I would like to get into the Flexvolt platform and winning a tool would be great, especially at this cash strapped time of year. I would definitely take the miter saw. The 790 is a no brainer when you think what great saw it’s based off and then add a cordless option. Just wow. Any of the Flexvolt tools would be appreciated though.
Erik
I like the flex volt miter saw.
Dan Gage
I would probably choose the Flex Volt Miter Saw. I have a large lot and usually have several projects running at the same time. I’ve just about burned the armature out of my current miter saw trying to power it through too much extension cord. The portable power would also give me more freedom to move further out and build some a couple of projects that were on hold waiting for a generator purchase.
Thanks for the chance! Merry Christmas!
Philip Schulz
I would get the compound miter saw. it would be very handy to have this capability without cords.
Saint Clarence
I would pick the Table saw. Normally I would go with the miter saw, but I just bought one, and my table saw is in serious need of an upgrade.
Tim
I’d get the DCK590L2 5 tool kit. I need a circular saw and my old drill lasts for 5 minutes now. Btw, awesome contest and thanks again for what you do.
Clay
While I’d love to have the flexvolt 12″ miter saw, I already own two corded Dewalt miter saws. I’m a handyman and an animal welfare photographer. I could see the portable power station as a very useful tool! It would be great for running LED lights during video shoots and also to run my 10″ Dewalt miter saw. It could also run laptops, tablets and lights, tools and more during the rescue missions and other animal welfare projects. Like a project I did recently -building a temporary structure inside a poorly lit horse barn – to acclimate semi feral cats to their new homes in the barn.
Thanks and keep up the good work there- showing folks the latest tools and tool deals!
Powen Wu
I like to have theDEWALT DCK590L2 20-Volt MAX Li-Ion 3.0 Ah 5-Tool Combo Kit to build a deck on my backyard.
Dave
The portable table saw would make my life, work, and helping family and friends much easier. Thanks for the opportunity.
Jim Searcy
As an electrical contractor I would really make use of the Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo. Both tools would be used on a daily basis.
Mike Gatchell
i would definitely choose the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790. I would use it to build everything my wife has been wanting me to build all these years that I have not because of lack of a good saw like this one. It would be awesome to get one of these!
julian
I’d choose the tablesaw. Many times I’ve had situation where I’m ripping with my cordless handheld, but if I had a smaller tablesaw, it would have really been the right tool to use.
I own the Bosch jobsite saw, but it’s permanently holstered to the gravity stand and so it only comes to very large jobs.
Thanks,
Julian
Mahalo
I thought about this one a bit. I didn’t want to simply go with the most expensive item by default, but somehow I ended up there anyway. I felt at first that the best upgrade for me personally would be to go from a corded circular saw to a cordless model because of how much easier setup would be for the occasions where I just want to make a few quick cuts without having to move things to a power source. But then I thought about how great an upgrade the miter saw would be, since I’m currently relying on a 10″ corded model, and I sure could use the extra capacity of the 12″ sliding model for a crown molding project that I have putting off for far too long. It’s the DEWALT DHS790AT2 for me! 🙂 Thanks for yet another giveaway!
Bill W.
That miter saw would be awesome. I am in the process of building out my garage/shop.
Lauren
The circular saw, table saw or one of the miter saws would be my pick. I asked for (and am receiving) a compressor for Christmas so I have no excuse to not install new baseboards once they’re all ripped out as part of my electrical and insulation overhaul. New subfloor plywood that will need cutting has been sitting in the garage for over a year and the siding and trim are overdue to be replaced. If there was a decking screwgun, that would be my top pick.
Jose
I would definitely choose the Flexvolt 60v Tablesaw due to my old Craftman table saw stopped working and also don’t have the space at my current residence for a full size table saw and have to take it out back to use each time i needed to use it so the flexvolt table saw would make life so much easier. I currently am using a dewalt corded curcular saw for all my cross cutting and it is a psin on the large 4×8 sheets to get a straight cut.
PattyC
I would love to have the Flexvolt mitersaw to do some remodeling work around my place electrical outlets are scares and I need a new miter saw for large dimension trim in my house
Jeff C.
I would LOVE the sliding miter saw! I am planning to build a treehouse with my son in the spring and being able to use a miter saw on site would make everything WAY easier. Also love that I could plug it in when I can use it near power as well.
Love your site, always inspires me to expand my tool collection!
Jaben
I would definitely take the 12″ miter saw! And if that’s not available, the circular saw.
In two weeks I am starting a second story addition on a completely gutted house. Not having to run power from my temporary power pole would be extremely convenient!
Levi Clevenger
Working multiple jobs and slinging tools around all day, in and out of vehicles, that cordless 12″ sliding mitre saw would be amazing! The extra batters would be a fantastic addition to all my other DeWalt tools too!
Christian Horst
Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit, DCK299. I would use it for just about anything you use a portible drill for. =)
Tony Davis
Until they come out with a full-sized table saw or a chainsaw, the sliding miter is #1 on my wishlist. I have a long list of carpentry projects idle committed myself to
The yeti
I need a mitre saw . I live in canada . I would use the saw to trim ice on my igloo . ☺
John Crow
I’m in love with my dewalt cordless tools. I use them everyday, One feature I like is the charge time is quick as most here can relate to that we don’t always recharge the tool once we use it. I’d really like the cordless table saw but would settle for the cordless miter saw with the 110 volt adapter. I have one dilemma, My wife, and I do love her, but If I purchased these tools The first thing I’d have to build is a dog house to live in for awhile. I think most of you can figure out why. It’s just that I’m so tired of extension cords…John
Troy
I think that the new 120 and 60 volt Dewalt power tools are pretty sweet. I could have really used those when I was working out of a carport with a 15 amp circuit that powered all the garages and light that I popped just about once a week. I ended up having to buy a generator and use that to run the tools.
I think I would probably go with the table saw. That will definitely help me with my deck this next summer.
I also think that the power station is pretty sweet too. I’ve been looking at some of those models from different companies that have come out and I’d really like to test one out.
The 20 volt hammer drill kit looks pretty tempting as well.
Ben Steines
I would love to get my hands on the Portable Power Station and use it at home for power outages to run my fridge and lights. It would also also come in handy for running my corded miter saw outdoors without running cords!
Timothy Butterfield
I too want the 12 in sliding miter saw. I have an old hand me down miter saw that is in need of replacement. I gotta get a new one before I build a deck this summer. Thanks
Pete
I would take the miter saw for sure. I would use it daily for work. Awesome giveaway
Michael sos
I would want that awesome flexvolt table saw. I have several built-ins to build in my new home, but the first project will be the pinewood derby car for my son.
Derrick Hunt
I’d like the Flexvolt Grinder. Really like the ergos on it and the reviews I’ve read and seen. I’d use it for work since I’m an industrial mechanic. Really beats rolling out a cord.
Andrew

Jeez this giveaway is super awesome Stuart! I would pick the DHS790AT2. A cordless/ corded option is just unbeatable. Ive been looking into getting the DWS780 maybe early next year but this was also on the table for the extra $. I remodel homes for friends and family as a hobby and this would definitely make things go faster!
Andrew
I’d select the Flex Volt Miter Saw for my younger brother. He just left his career in construction management to go into full time missions to help others around the globe with construction projects. He’s raised about 75% of his support and was just diagnosed with stage 3 cancer of the colon. He’s had surgery removing 12″ of his colon but the doctors feel great about a full recovery. I’d love to lift his spirts as well as his tool collect as his current miter saw is an old single bevel dewalt that I purchased off of Craigslist when I upgraded to a Hitachi.
Thank you for a great site Stuart!
Jason Gomez
First of all, thank you for the opportunity to win and for offering this generous giveaway! I would love to have the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw DHS790 for many remodeling & woodworking projects, including interior trim and stair building, framing both interior and exterior, building a pergola, and a bed for my daughter. Thanks again and Happy Holidays!
Daddyrab
Now that would be nice Toolguyd.
I am hoping to retire in a year or so and it would be nice to have the flexvolt miter saw to get started on some of the projects I want to do.
JamesOuzts
The table saw is really awesome but the thing I’m sure I would use the most is the grinder. I make stainless still sculpture for a living and I’m always using a grinder. Haven’t been able to go cordless yet but that flexvolt grinder looks like a reall work horse.
Vaughn M
Table saw!! Merry Christmas everyone
Brad
I would love to have any of the Dewalt tools. They look amazing! If I had to pick, I ‘d choose the sliding miter saw. The thing is a beast! I’d love to use it to build stuff for my family. Thanks Stuart!
Bryan
I would definitely take the compound sliding miter saw. I would use it to trim my dog’s nails. 😀
My current slider is an old Makita, which is held together with epoxy, the miter detents don’t work, and the saw head doesn’t even lock down for transport anymore — I use a chunk of wire to tie it off lol.
Jonathan
Awesome contest idea! I’m going to sound like a broken record, but I have to say, the DEWALT DHS790AT2 would be awesome. Have a new to me house, with lots of never fixed things around. Have eyes on a new fence next year and maybe a barn so I can get the yard stuff out of the garageshop land.
Kids need a solid slide and jungle gym and such. My ol’ 20V MAX 3AH 5 part kit batteries are starting to show all of their 3~4 years of use too. Gotta say I’m pretty pleased with them, I in turn keep them away from hot and cold extremes.
By the way, if you ever want that subreddit, don’t forget me!
clayton
I would want the vsr stud and joist drill I had the corded version a years ago for about a month and then it was stolen and have yet to buy a new one. I do home remodeling and these come handy.
Wesley
I would love the new 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790. I have really taken to the world of wood working making things like kitchen tables and chairs. Also i do trim work around the house as we fix things up and this saw would make my life so much easier!
The Dude
The miter saw would be great to finally build the garage, and finish the basement.
Kyle
Oh man I need that 12in miter saw!!! Since my house and food truck are fully solar every ounce of energy I conserve helps, as I use a miter saw the most! Also my 10in dewalt just broke after 6 years. So that would be awesome!!
Eddie Salas
Wow ide be all over the flexvolt miter saw!!!! I use my miter saw almost everyday installing flooring and having a 12″ corded/cordless option would make me unstoppable!!! good job on the giveaways toolguyd!!!!!
Pastor EJ
I would ask for the table saw, which should allow me to start to build a sound booth in our 237 year old country church.
Matt s
If I won the prize, I would want the table saw. It would be great to have something that I could use not only for my small garage, but also something I could use to make woodworking projects on site.
John
Seeing as how I haven’t been able to find one at any of the stores I’ve been to, I would love to try out the DCB1800 battery bank. Considering that I still have a few functional tools in the garage that run off corded power it would be a great benefit for around-the-house projects to be more mobile. I’d use it to help with the demolition and re-construction of an exterior deck.
Harris
I would choose the 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit which would probably start me down the path of upgrading my existing 18v DeWalt tools. It would be used mostly for theatrical set building and work around the house
Joel Spangler
Sliding miter would be my choice too. I’m a DIY’er – one that’s built a 24×48 garage, added 24×32 to the barn, and a 30×20 addition to my home. I plan to build a place for my mower, an elevated hunting cabin – oh and my church is currently starting a building project – battery operated miter saw would be REALLY helpful with that until power gets installed (and even after). From what I’m reading, this might be more accurate than my current miter too – I often have to “play” with mine to get true cuts. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
Robert
Wow! The best brand of tools is now big on batteries. The slide mitre saw is what I have my eye on. I need a portable saw that I can use in the field to build my son’s new deck. I’ve already got the driver and the drill. Oh please Santa….
Brandon Fok
DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery
If i won this kit i would use it to help my brother build shelves for the garage for storage space.
David Lewis
Hi,
Thanks Toolguy’d for the fantastic opportunity.. DeWalt makes amazing tools! I would request the DHS 790 FlexVolt miter saw and give it to my father. We do small wood projects and some maintenance for the family. I think the saw would be very helpful for my sister’s deck project and, as we’re getting older, it allows for some quality time.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
Matt raab
I would love to have the new flexvolt miter saw…my family is currently building a house and we are doing quite a bit of the work in addition to my regular job and it would be amazing to have a saw to help us finish our house faster and improve quality (im using an older 10 inch) and help me do the finish work in order to make my wife happy! Happy wife…happy life!
John Crow
been using dewalt tool for ears and love them. When I found out they had redesigned the battery powered slide saw with the capability to by pass the battery and plug into a 110 power source I wanted one so bad but I knew my wife would not let me purchase it as I have 5 other sliding compound saws sitting in the shop. But if I won one then that would be a different story. I’m also eyeing the cordless table saw as well..I’m pleased to see Dewalt continue to push the envelop for us contractors to make our jobs easier, for example it’s common to see a power strp on the job sie just loaded with cords connected to it. Where ae with a cordless I don’t have to worry about that, plus my van has a 110 converter plug so I can charge my batteries there…thank you R&D team at Dewalt John Crow cell # 831-320-2282
farid
I would probably select the compound sliding miter saw. I’ll be finishing my basement sometime in the near future
Big Mike
If I won the giveaway, I’d choose the Reciprocating saw kit with two batteries, along with the angle grinder bare tool. I just finished up a six month stint working at a cabinet shop, and working there really got me interested in tools and general fabrication/home repair. I’ve been using what money I’ve been paid to slowly build a functional collection of tools, especially for general maintenance around my parents house. I’d use the angle grinder to cut a metal joist to length as extra support for the garage door rail in the garage, and would use the reciprocating saw to cut a few tree branches that are issues in the backyard.
Tim L
I’d pick the miter saw and use it to build a shed in my backyard.
Eric
I would definitely pick the sliding compound miter saw, still have lots of work to do on my fixer upper!
Logan bawcom
Could definitely use the miter saw kit. My old miter saw was bought used a few years back and it’s on it’s last leg. I use it everyday for remodeling our old home we bought off my grandma along with building furniture for the house. Also build furniture for family and friends.
Craig Wilson
I only have 8 volt and 12 volt stuff. I’d love to step up! Thanks for the chance!
Tim
I would love the sliding miter saw. Its a great option to run corded/cordless. Thanks for the opportunity
Max
We’re renovating a big multistory house with mostly reclaimed material and a rather limited toolsupply so the sliding miter saw would make quite a few jobs so much easier than waiting weeks to borrow one or making do somehow with a handheld circular
And with it being cordless so much time is saved!
plus taking it out to bigger jobs would give us a few more working opportunities to make some money for the things you just have to purchase!..
Quite a successful post it seems ToolGuyd , congratulations on the large audience!
Michael Miller
Wow – What an awesome holiday gift package from Toolguyd.com!! I would absolutely LOVE to win the Dewalt 1/2″ impact driver package. I’ve had my eyes on these for about 2 years now but haven’t had the extra cash to buy it. I would use it regularly to perform brake changes, tire rotations, and ATV maintenance. Thanks for the opportunity!
Kelsey Mullis
If I win, I would pick the mitre saw. I am a carpenter, most of my projects are window and door replacements. I only make a few dozen cuts on any given day cutting interior and exterior trim pieces. My current 12″ single bevel dewalt mitre box is over 25 years old. It belonged to my dad, who is also a carpenter. I have it mounted on a ridgid brand folding saw stand. It’s heavy and majorly awkward to load and unload by myself. I first used dewalt 20 volt tools in 2011 at an Extreme Home Makeover project in Joplin, MO. After graduation from college I bought a hammer drill/ impact combo kit. The impact has since been replaced when the chuck would no longer hold bits in place after 5 years of hard use. The brushes are almost gone on the hammer drill, but it’s still going strong. I’ve been an active reader on your website for about 3 years. I first visited your site searching for Black Friday Deals. Now, I check back every other day or so to see if any new tools are being launched.
Jason Greenberg
I’m another one for the compound miter saw. I’ve got the baseboards for the kitchen calling my name, and I’ve been eager to make a laminated bench. And there’s the shed for the garbage cans and recycling bins, and more shelves for the garage and basement…
Ken Fetting
I would would choose the Flexvolt miter saw, the size and power would allow this contractor to work cordless on almost any jobsite.
The blower size would allow me to handle framing and trim work on the same saw.
Brian Michel
If I won I would choose the table saw. I do a lot of remodeling projects and the portability and convenience of a battery powered table saw would simplify things greatly
Grant Lindsey
This giveaway is an awesome idea, and the format you chose is great. I think on the receiving end most will simply appreciate the gift. I have been wanting to test the new sliding miter saw ever since I saw it on ToolGuyd. I never use Dewalt’s power tools because they’re normally priced out of my range.
However I would use it for everything, and honestly just having a nice saw increases my value as a subcontractor (a lot more capable than my 7 1/4 miter saw).
Thanks for the opportunity ToolGuyd!
AC
Gosh! – So many choices. I was undecided between the power station and the table saw.. but I settled on the power station. I think that would be so useful for me because I only have a few outlets in my garage/shop. Having the ability to move things around and bring the power to the tools would be a huge help!
Spencer
I’d want to win the Double Bevel Compound Miter Saw Kit. I’d use it in my new wood shop I’m setting up!
Jim D
Definitely the sliding compound miter saw kit. That saw cuts amazingly well and the fact that you can plug it in is something all cordless tool users have been asking for for decades.
David G.
Wow, what a great contest! I could really use a number of those tools. I’m in the process of restoring a mid-century modern ranch. I have a basic set of tools, but no miter saw or table saw. Right now I’m leaning toward the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw because I have a lot of trim work I need to do. I think that would be the perfect tool for the job!
Trowski
Would definitely go with the sliding compound miter saw kit DHS790AT2 to replace my older fixed miter saw. I really like that it can be plugged in when power is available or run off batteries if only a few cuts need to be made or if no power has been hooked up. I’d use it for re-framing while doing electrical and finish wood when building custom home theater and security systems.
Steve
I would choose the table saw or the portable power pack only because I already have a cordless miter saw and a cordless 7 1/4 circular saw . Being a diy also having a cordless table saw would be real nice & the portable power pack would also come in handy for some jobs without power around. I think it’s awesome that you would do something like this out of your own pocket.
Susan Levitt
I’m fortunate enough to own my home, which is a ranch-style three-bedroom in California. It’s a beautiful house, and I’m constantly getting it adjusted to meet my needs as a person in a heavy-duty motorized wheelchair. I’ve had my kitchen redone for maximum accessibility and will redo my master bath as soon as I can figure out flooring options.
I’ve been told that I have a beautiful backyard, and I can see it through my sliding glass door and windows, but I can’t go out there. I’ve been looking for a ramp to solve this problem, but I haven’t found any pre-fab ramps that will work with the tracks on the sliding glass door. I have an adorable little terrier mix who loves to play in the yard and doesn’t understand why her mommy can’t come out and play with her.
Thankfully, there is a solution in sight. My boyfriend and his father have designed a ramp for me that will work, but it involves some complicated cuts, and the FlexVolt Miter Saw would make the job so much more possible.
Ryan
I just bought a house, got married and the miter saw would help a lot on the remodeling .
Art Cunningham
Miter saw as well for outdoor mobility on fencing / garden projects I would like to do as well as ease of setting up for my full kitchen remodel in 2017 I have planned.
Paul
Miter saw! Be so nice to just throw it in the tuck for a small trim out job and not have to load the heavy electric miter for smaller jobs 😀
Paul
typo edit
Miter saw! Be so nice to just throw it in the truck for a small trim out job and not have to load the heavy electric miter for smaller jobs ?
Joe
I would chose the work light with a second battery. I do hvac and a lot of times I work in poor light. In poor light we are working with flashlights or corded work lights. With those we have to drag around extension cordso and those can pose a hazzard. With proper light I can do my job better and provide better service to my customers.
Brian Veeck
That miter would be absolutely incredible!
Ben
If I were the fortunate soul to score a flexible system, I’d be tempted by the table saw, but go for the miter saw. I’ve borrowed my neighbor’s far too often – and it is a massive beast. It’s probably be easier for him to borrow my flexvolt than get his out if his garage – in second thought…
Simon Medisch
I would like the 120v sliding miter saw to use to continue expanding my building skills, I have lots of metal working things and not a lot of woodworking and I would like to do more of it.
Simon.
Armando M Calzadilla
Brushless 7-1/4″ Circular Saw, DCS575 defiantly my choice for quick cuts around the house, tired of plugging in the cable all the time.
Jose
I’d love to win the DHS790AT2 ,12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw. I have a number of jobs around the house where this would be the perfect tool: trim jobs indoors and outdoors, garden planters, bathroom shelving and cabinets. I am also taking some wood working classes at a local junior college to expand my skills.
Thanks for all the informative posts and this amazing giveaway the Stewart!
Jeremy Donaldson
I would pick the drill driver combo pack. I do alot o f remodeling, porch building and trash outs.
Yadda
Great giveaway! Over 500 comments with 9 days to go. I would choose the mitre saw. I have some creative ideas I would like to implement with crown molding. A mitre saw would help me implement those ideas.
Calvin
The table saw is tempting, but I would choose the sliding miter saw so I could fix some of the baseboard molding in my bathroom and some of the laminate flooring in my living room. I’d also take the opportunity to learn more woodworking skills, which I only started doing less than a year ago.
Alper Mizrak
I like to win 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790.
I hope to use it with my next project building a chicken coop.
Skye
Thanks. I would like the fixed mitersaw. I’m a finish carpenter and project lead for a residential remodeling company. Often I’m back at the near end of a job doing punch list stuff like base shoe etc.. I have been curious about cordless for saws and guns.
Thanks for the great website i read it often
Jason Bucholtz
If I win I would like the table saw. I am in the military so it being portable is a huge plus. Wood working is a hobby of mine and it’s hard to do when you never know when you might have to move to the next basem
sweetpapa
I would get the sliding miter saw. Looks amazing and extremely well built.
Justin
I would choose the 60v miter saw. I would use it for my at home DIY projects and for when I am doing projects at family and friends houses when I need a truly portable miter saw!
Cody
I would choose the miter saw. We are in the process of moving into our first house and have lots of projects to do!
John Chenard
Hi There – What an amazing and kind gift of giving! I recently left my technology focused career in hopes of getting back to a more physical and rewarding life building a business in residential renovation. I had a great run of 20 plus years working for large companies managing technology teams and although I loved the challenge it left a void of working in the physical world – and the smell of freshly cut wood!
I would select the 120v sliding miter saw to aid in getting jobs set up quickly with the flexibility of moving to areas that are power “challenged”
Thank you for the chance!
– John
Tyler Sherman
I would love to win the 60v Table Saw! After following this blog I fell in love with the Dewalt cordless 20v system and have been slowing building my collection for the many projects after buying my first house out of college! Hopefully these tools will be very helpful in doing the work myself on many rental properties I hope to acquire to support my future family!
Zachary Daniels
I would want that miter saw all day. I frequently work at locations without power and a miter saw that doesn’t need a generator would be amazing! I appreciate this giveaway!
Aaron Massey
DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery – would use it in my new garage shop! Thanks.
ca
USA only?! If I won I’d get the mitre saw to build homes for blind orphans.
David George
Flex volt miter saw. I’d use it for custom cabinet making and trim on the job.
Joren
Personally, I’d love to try out the power station, with Flexvolt batteries, as a jumping pad to get into the Flexvolt lineup – so many 20V batteries around!
Thank you!
Rick W.
Would definitely like to give the power station a try. ! This could be used to power a few traditional drywall screw guns, possibly a small compressor.
Mark bushinski
I would go for the fixed head miter saw. Although there may times when I need the capacity of the slider I prefer the simplicity of the non-slider.
MikeH
Just sitting here waiting for the fat man to come, reading Toolguyd.com and I’m not seeing a package under the tree big enough to hold a sliding miter saw so that would be my choice. Would make so many tasks easier. Thanks! And Happy Holidays!
Paul W
I would choose the 60v miter saw. The reason behind this is that has to be the best tool of the lineup. Then you pair it with the cordless feature and it really takes it to a new level. I’d be looking to help out, and finish projects at my parents camp.
John C
I’d use the table saw. I’ve been in the trades for over 20 years and, between wages, side jobs and hobby, tools make life easier. Pick me.
AJ Weinstein
portable power station. Too many things to do too far from a plug and I already own too many good DeWalt tools
Vincent N.
I came across this site a month ago and can’t stop browsing through it.
The 60V Max brushless circular saw will make it easy for me to build my wife’s vegetable planters, washer/dryer pedestals, backyard fencing and whatever she has on her list…she is driving me crazy.
Fingers crossed!
Mosh
I’d go for the miter saw making it easier to slice through moldings and studs and being able to use the battery to add run time in my existing 20V max line.
Damon
Without a doubt the DHS790AT2 compound miter saw kit. I’m a homeowner/DIYer. I have an older Hitachi 10″ miter saw but I have it fixed to a large work bench and therefore it is not portable.
Running into the basement for cuts for all the outside projects gets tiresome. I use a circ for a lot of stuff but I prefer the accuracy of mitre. In the spring I’ll be rehabbing our raised garden beds, and taking on both a chicken coop and a really badly needed shed.
Being able to set up outside where I am working would be priceless. Thanks for the contest!
Roger
With one boy in the Air Force and the other going into the Marines. I could sure use the help of the Flex Volt cordless miter saw for projects. Thanks Toolguyd for such a wonderful gift.
Max
Flex Volt Miter Saw would be awesome! Merry Christmas. Love your blog!
Charles R hoyle ll
DEWALT DCL070T1 20V MAX FLEXVOLT Bluetooth LED Area Light Kit this light system is a well needed beast for those late night cable installs ( head lamp and bad eyes jut don’t cut it anymore lol)
Matt Farewell
Miter saw because its a beautiful tool that got such an excellent review courtesy of this site. Now every time I go into the tool aisle, I stop and stare when I come across it. I imagine that I would become a real carpenter if I had it. I know the right tool is only a small bit of the equation when it comes to the art of carpentry. Everyone has dreams right!? But I guess I would definitely be begging my friends to let me help them with their projecs just so we could use it!
Susan Berger
I’d love to use the 7-1/4″ circ saw. The power, combined with the added safety of the brake, would serve as a great decking tool. The whole 60v system looks great!
Cary Heggen
I would get the miter saw so I could sell it on Craigslist like everyone else?? J/K I’ve been looking and comparing the all of the companies producing battery operated miter saws and can’t convince the wife this is the tool I need this to finish some of projects on the honey do list. She said “the wooden box with cuts in it and the hand saw that her great grandpa used would do a fine job”☹️
BenB
DEWALT Miter Saw
William Butler
I would get either the power station, the work light, or the table saw. I’m particularly interested in the power station.
This seems like a win for everybody!
RodB
I would want either the sliding compound miter saw or the area work light. Both would be great help on the two decks (almost 1300 sq ft between them) I’m replacing this spring – often working into the twilight and early eve.
Thanks for setting up the giveaway.
Ken
As a carpenter I sometimes work at locations with limited power, or no power at all. I also currently do not own a 12″ miter saw, so the Flexvolt miter saw kit would really come in handy.
Jason
If I won, I would get the mitre saw. If use it to make every thing from a new ramp foro our shed to some picture frames as gifts.
Dan Lombana
Love the blog, thanks for the fun giveaway.
I’d select the table saw, I’ve been wanting one of these for quite awhile.
I want to make some rolling carts and other storage for my cluttered garage, and the table saw would make the ripping breeze by.
Good luck to everyone!
Eric
If I won, I would get the DHS790 miter saw. I really need a new miter saw badly.
Patty McLaughlin
An exciting, generous give away! I would pick the Table Saw with the Miter Saw as second choice! I don’t have either one in my arsenal of tools, I do have a small circular saw that I get by with. As a grandma with a young granddaughter, I look forward to making a potting bench, garden beds, and a play kitchen with and for her!
Ryan
I picked up the sliding miter saw on Black Friday so if I won I’d pick the track saw if it’s actually coming out or if I had to pick a current tool it’d be the table saw.
Pete
BOOM! 600th comment right here!
B-Rad
I would select the FlexVolt circular saw, reciprocating saw, and drill/driver kit with FlexVolt batteries. I’d use this to install wheelchair ramps and handrails for people in our community that can’t afford, don’t have, or are in desperate need of a new ones. We do a lot of charity work at a local physical therapy clinic, and this would open the door for more help.
Stellar giveaway, guys!
Greg Lawrence
I work in maintenance so any of the tools would be great, if available in the give away I would choose the power station second choice would be the table saw I am pretty well set for smaller cordless tools . I am anxious to see what ope tools come out in the flex volt line
Josh Carter
If I were to win I would choose the table saw kit.
I just bought my first house and have always been a DIY guy so I have a list of projects where the table saw would help greatly.
Alan A
Hello,
Although most tools from the Dewalt FlexVolt lineup would be desirable, I believe I would choose the miter saw.
I am not a professional woodworker, but I do use my current miter saw (DWS780) quite a bit. I really like the idea of being able to convert from 120V DC to 120 AC. The new FlexVolt miter saw seems to get the blade up to speed quite a bit faster than the corded 780 that I currently own. It is almost instantaneous.
I would consider myself being 1 of 2 family handymen. My dad, the primary handyman, is getting a little seasoned so it has been difficult for him to take on most of the projects. Projects will typically range within our family’s needs, but we are never shy of helping neighbors and friends as well.
The majority of our family owns or rents old homes, so having access to an outdoor receptacle is slim to none. I am not going to say that plugging in a cord from inside and running it outside is so inconvenient that I stray away from work, but it definitely is easier and I would feel more mobile with the FlexVolt platform.
I demoed this saw back in September at a Dewalt expo in Maryland and was very impressed with the power and capability of the saw. This is something that the tool market has never seen before. Last year, Dewalt came out with the 7-1/4″ saw on a 20V platform that I really wasn’t excited about. If you strictly were to cut 2×4/2×6 framing lumber, it would be ideal. However, I cut miscellaneous sized stock and would much prefer the 12″ cordless saw in lieu of the 7″.
Regards,
Alan A.

First, thank you to Stuart the Toolguyd for this giveaway. Advertising notwithstanding it is a great gesture to give back to the loyal viewers and contributors who help put this site at the top.
I would choose the Sliding Miter Saw – go for the gusto! Seldom does one have the chance to start with the high ticket item. There isn’t a tool in the line I couldn’t use and in time could slowly add to the Flexvolt collection. Starting with the flagship item would be tremendous . . . and very much needed. In the shop and in the field – one saw does it all.
Thanks again for the opportunity. Have a Happy New Year!
Steve P
What an awesome giveaway. If I won, I would definitely choose the miter saw. Woodworking is a hobby of mine that takes up nearly all of my non-work time. A miter saw would be EXTREMELY handy (and much safer) for cross cuts (rather than trying to use a jobsite table saw). Also, I’d use it to add crown moulding and re-do the base moulding that the previous owner messed up in my house!
Thanks for the opportunity!
Chris
Table saw. I have everything else but this and can never justify getting one. But then I regret not having one ALL the time while working at my 1890’s row home. But the chop saw would be real nice on job sites. Right?
Shreeni Rao
Table saw!! I have just begun to put together tools for a my small garage hobby wood shop and this could replace my really really aging and falling-apart cheap table saw.
Thanks, Happy Holiday and Happy New Year to all at TG
Kevin
I would love to use the cordless 12″ Sliding mitre saw. My current miter saw and stand are over 100lbs and a pain to move around at jobs, and even in and out of my truck. It would be great to not only have a lighter saw to move around with ease, but to have the option to have it cordless if needed. Then i can finally leave my heavy bosch in my shop. Thanks for the opportunity of this giveaway! Love your website!
Ken
Definately the table saw for me. I really like the fixed Miter also, but I have many more tabel saw-ish projects on the horizon with a bunch of ripping to be done. I’m sure the slider is nice too but I don’t cut things that large with any regularity in a homeowner setting that the added weight and size would be worth it to me as a tradeoff. The outdoor power equipment looks tempting in the future as well…
Jeff
I would choose the FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Miter Saw because my old Ryobi miter saw scares the hell out of me everytime I make a cut with it. It rattles and shakes like it’s mounted to a freight train.
Tom
The sliding miter saw for me. I have to put siding on my gable so I have lots of angled cuts to make.
Ben
The DHS790 looks like a nice saw. It would be nice to have a portable slider.
FC
Angle grinder for me
HiggiML
I told the family that I was entering to win a compound miter saw and the project request just came flooding in. Now you gotta pick me! 🙂
Andrew Escher
Sliding miter saw.
Then I won’t have a reason to neglect the honey do list.
Terry
The circular saw kit here, I don’t have a working circular saw currently and a jigsaw just isn’t the same. I’m going to build some cabinets/shelves for the garage, and I can borrow a table saw (also don’t need it to be cordless), but the circular saw would be useful well after that project. I also already have a corded miter saw.
Ross
I’d love to have the table saw or the circular saw. My wife and I are currently in the process of remodeling our 1870’s farmhouse. We are essentially redoing everything in the house, but we are keeping it era-specific as much as possible.
My aging Craftsman Pro 20V circular saw is pretty well wore out (saw and batteries) and is in need of replacement. I don’t currently have a portable table saw, but the Dewalt FlexVolt table saw would be a great help to lessen the countless trips from my house to my dad’s shop to use his table saw. Either of these saws would certainly be a great help for our project and would get plenty of use.
Mike Anderson
I would have to go with the 12″ miter saw. It’s unmatched and such an innovative product. Punchout just got a lot easier.
JJ
I gotta take the sliding miter saw. My old Hitachi bit the dust and I can use it to finally find finish our garage.
Isaac
My family and I have a small farm that’s constantly in need of repair or new buildings, and I would pick either the Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit, as our old DeWalt set is worn out, or the Sliding Miter Saw because our Skil Miter saw is only a 10″.
Thanks for the opportunity! God bless you!
Frank Arana
I would love to have the impact and hammer drill combo kit. Dewalt is constantly making great quality product that last forever. I’m an electrician so I need tools that I can rely on. Dewalt has never let me down. I remember buying my first 18v impact driver years ago. It had great battery life and power. Till this day I still have it and it works good after the daily grind it went through. Getting this kit would make my life easier for sure. Keep up the great work Dewalt. Keep the technology coming.
Diamond Dave
Definitely the Flex Volt Drill and Impact starter Kit as I am wanting to finally upgrade from the Dewalt 18v system into the 20v system and it’s time!
Please Santa please!…lol
Gregg
I’d pick the Dewalt FlexVolt sliding miter saw. We’ve redone our dinning room recently and it’s just screaming for some crown molding to be put up but have been hesitant to start with my current saw. My current miter saw is only a 10″ non-sliding and about 12 years old and has seen better days and has made better cuts. After the crown, the “Honey Do” list is pretty intensive; built-ins, new baseboards, siding on shed, etc…
Martin Jennings
I really like the power station with batteries, until they come out with a 60v track saw it would be a great addition to my kit. I love not having to drop cords every day. The charger seems too notch and who can’t use extra power or batteries. I’m a one man band so if I can work more efficiently and save time then it puts money in my pocket and more time with my children.
FC
The angle grinder would be a great addition to my arsenal. I will be cutting grinding and polishing lots of projects. All with no cords.
Daniel Hedman
This is a great offer and it really makes me think about which tool I would need the most and how soon I would need it. As I am getting ready to retire from serving in the army for 22 years, I am looking to make what has been a side job of custom built ins for the past couple years into a full time career change, but I also need to build a house and workshop prior to that. That being said, I would have to go with the sliding compound miter saw as I think I would use that the most, although the joist drill is a close second.
Josh
I would like the sliding miter saw so I can build a sweet shed!
Thomas Lowe
I would choose the flexvolt 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw. Since getting out of the Marine Corps I have been going to school. I have been looking for volunteer opportunities in San Diego to continue to support the community in my spare time. I would use the miter saw to assist with projects such as habitat for humanity, VFW projects, American Legion projects, and other projects that could assist other veterans in need.
Mr ben
* DHS790 *Would love to have one. cordless miter saw is great ideas having one would be is awesome! I would use it to build deck/fence. sometimes firing up the generator at work site give me headache.
Chris
I think it’s a tough choice between the cordless miter saw and the cordless table saw. I think the portable power station would be a handy tool to have as well. As for what I would use them for, the girlfriend is always finding projects for me to do as well as things she finds on Pintrest for me to make. The current project is a stuffed animal zoo for her son.
Benjamin
Definitely the miter saw.
Mario
12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790 Is what I would use. I would make a bed frame and some bookshelves and sleep better.
Jess
I’d love the table saw, as I don’t have power in my garage and fixing up this old house is not fun out in the snow! I’m currently running extension cords from the house and thus would mean one cord instead of two!
JD Bilodeau
Would have to go with the sliding miter saw. My garage exterior needs some serious repair/updating- having the saw to do trim would be awesome!
Kyle Maher
I’m thinking the circular saw would come in handy on an up coming roof replacement project. And it would also be a good way to get into the the outdoor power equipment tools like the chainsaw.
John Niece
Without a doubt, either of the miter saws (i’m not picky – especially for something this generous!) I have an old Craftsman (well not that old) and it is as accurate as using a kids ruler to develop precision instruments! Like most amateurs miter corners are always a challenge (but look so simple!) – and having a well made and dead accurate miter saw would be great!
The light would come in very handy when you have a big project and you need to have light at ground level – for looking for those flaws only you can see! :0 Again, thanks for the contest! I read your post everyday and it is a great way to learn what you should spend your hard earned dollars on!
Happy New Year!
Adam
I know I should say the miter saw, and it would get used, but I have a Ridgid at the moment that is adequate. So I would want to get started with the Portable Power Station. It has a ton of possibilities, and almost seems more useful if you are already set on a miter saw (if you don’t use it much)
I’m surprised they don’t have more flex-volt multiple tool bundles. Like a circular, sawzall, and a light (or something), and offer a little better pricing. I know Milwaukee has a couple Fuel bundles that include several tools.
Jose
The 20v max to help me with all the jobs around the house to keep the wife happy, the portable power station and the work light for those late night projects.
William Fletcher
I’d opt for the DEWALT DCK299D1T1 20V MAX FLEXVOLT Brushless Premium Hammer Drill and Impact Combo Kit, and I’d give it to my son (20.) In the last year, he’s gone from having a 50/50 chance of identifying the top end of a hammer to doing professional work, rehabbing apartments, building decks, etc. He’s also got a number of personal projects he’s planning, now that he’s got the skill. This is the first year that his Christmas list was tools instead of video games. He’s currently using my hand-me-down DeWalt cordless drill that’s still running after a decade plus of abuse (while I make do with an old Ryobi); I’d love to enable his professional and personal pursuits with a new DeWalt kit.
Lack
I’d love to have the miter saw for starters – then I could go about buying the rest of the stuff to fill the workshop.
Alexander
If I would be the lucky guy to win, i would choose the circular saw… unless it were possible to get the yet-to-be-released flexvolt rotary hammer drill (dont even know the model number). I live in the middle east for half the year and the tools there are terrible. any name brand you could find are extremely expensive. so i bring tools from abroad. cordless is amazing because you dont have to bring a massive converter with you everywhere. just bring ample amount of batteries and your set for the day. hopefully things will change sometime soon but for now, gotta do what ones gotta do.
azedwick
I have yet to make up my mind whether to go down the Milwaukee or Dewalt road fully have a fair amount of both and love the flex-volt table saw. (most of my places I rehab don’t have power for a while). This would make the decision much easier for my battery powered Miter saw (dewalt vs Milwaukee). Thanks guys have a great year.
Dwight Awesome
I would want the stud and joist drill and the worklight. I’m building a garage addition now, and it would be super useful.
Jerry F
I love the cordless miter saw. Finishing trim jobs inside and out could be much easier.
Brian
I would get the mitre saw. I want to expand my box and tray making capabilities and my saw now is not accurate or large enough to do what I need it to do.
Seth Anglin
First wow will this break 700 before the end of the year? I would want the sliding compound miter saw. My current miter saw doesnt slide and having a sliding miter saw would be a lot more useful. My first item would be a new work bench that i am working on. Followed by so shelves for my kids
Peter Bray
Well, I sure could use a 60v slide compound 12″ miter saw to help build my own house this spring…! Mine got stolen on the job site just last week.
Curt
For me, it’d have to be the 7-1/4″ circular saw. I do way too much rough (and fine!) cuts in 2x lumber and sheet goods with an old Craftsman sidewinder circular saw, and after a brief spell at work with DeWalt’s 20V 6-1/2″ circular saw (DCS391) I’m in looooooove. Going to be moving into a larger house soon, and whichever circular saw is closest to hand will be put to hard work with some minor (and probably not-so-minor) renovation projects.
mbr207
A Miter saw is my dream tool!
Jay
Trimming rafter/truss tails is such a pain with a corded saw. That brushless circ saw would be sweet.
Jeff H.
New miter saw would be great for work!
Laurence Partan
I’d love to round out my tools with the table saw. We just bought a 70-year-old little house in Korea (but take delivery in California) that needs some serious repair and augmentation, a new roof deck, a hall to connect two parts, and a bathroom. It’s built of pine tree posts and beams with mud brick and mud-and-wattle walls, A restoration specialist is insanely expensive so it’s DIY. We’re tooled up with everything but a table saw. Jury rigging a guide is okay for a couple rips, but for serious construction we need a real tool, and ripping through oak qualifies it for me.
Danny
I’d have to pick the miter saw as well. I’d love the tablesaw, but I’m not really digging the small blade.
Danny
And of course, I’d primarily use this for dozens (literally, dozens) of projects my wife has wanted me to do. The first of which is an adjustable sitting/standing desk made of dimensional bamboo plywood. That ought to put a cordless miter saw through its paces!
mnoswad
I’d be ecstatic if I won the flex-volt miter saw or flex-volt table saw as it would be put to immediate use while I restore, renovate and modernize a vacant dilapidated 1920’s bungalow.
John N Trang
The table saw would be my choice to get me back into woodworking again
Michael Eibling
Well I’d have to choose the miter saw. I do a fair amount of woodworking maintenance wise for my house. And I have a table saw, a radial arm saw, and a trim saw. This one would fill a capability gap for me which would be nice. (Would come in handy for doing the baseboards)
UncleBadger
Oh I would love to have the flex volt stud and joist drill. I’m a plumber so that’s what I’d use it for!
Andrew Gregor
Awesome giveaway! Thanks! It would he a tough call between the non-slider miter saw and the 7-1/4″ circular saw. As a builder both get used a ton and the ability to setup quick and cord free framing has great appeal. Also using the circular saw while up on a platform framing roofs would be fantastic.
Russell W.
I would pick the circular saw. I am a hobby woodworker and just got into the Dewalt line. This would be great for breaking down sheet goods.
Factory-built
Amazing giveaway Stuey! Avid Garage Journal’r and Toolguyd reader. Dewalt is making a big push in the new Flex lines and good to see. What I am amazed by is the 120v Flex series Miter Saw- sliding none the less!
If I got my hands on one I would be going nuts with remote build projects, Treehouses, barn remodels, and the maybe even custom furniture; thats what I do professionally. The saw looks capable of giving quality (compound!) cuts.
Count me in!
Chris Petersen
Man, the whole FlexVolt lineup is so interesting, just about anything would be fantastic. The circular saw appears to be fantastic, the grinder also looks like a real performer. The area light is nice thing to see Dewalt get into (following Milwaukee’s lead) and the of course that portable power station has the prospects of seriously changing one’s work load.
However, I think the biggest wow-factor from this whole concept is the sliding compound miter and the fact that it’s both a corded and cordless solution, without missing a beat. That’s the one I’d have to go with. If there’s a dream tool in this lineup for most of tool geeks, that has to be in the top 10…
Hank Silver
I have had many experiences of building in locations that are nowhere near a power source and where even a generator would be a hassle. One example that comes to mind is a cabin I built for myself in the Vermont woods. The whole thing was trimmed and then sided in cedar shingles. It would be a treat to have the ability to cut precise and repeatable compound miters in a remote location like that.
I would opt for the flexvolt sliding compound miter saw…
Jim the Restless
The miter saw would be fantastic. I’m just starting to get a home shop up and running, and a miter saw would be great for building a workbench and shelves. I also want to do some outdoor projects this spring to really take advantage of the big yard in the new place we moved into this year. And once I have the space to work set up I really want to get into some finer woodworking and furniture to replace all the cheap flatpack stuff we have been living with for decades.
Timothy Bowers
Sliding miter saw for sure. I would use it to cut boards to replace my deck.
Patrick
I would love the sliding compound miter saw kit! I am moving into a new place and have a long to do list. This saw would be great for the trim work and a several other projects.
Johan Gustavsson
Mitersaw, I’m going to be doing some home remodeling and it would be very helpful.
Chris
Brushless drill impact combo. Be nice for work not to have to use my companys garbage set
Aaron
This would come in handy as I “slowly…” complete finishing off the basement at the house.
Tommy
I would like the brushless hammerdrill kit. I’ve been a dewalt 18v user for years, but I thing it’s almost time to move to the new 20v max for my work tools.
Jennifer Chadwick
Brushless Drill impact combo sounds like a dream
Geno
This is an awesome give-away!! Thank you for the chance! If I won I’d want the sliding miter saw. My twin niece and nephews want me to build a club house and power is not close at all where they want to put it! This would be an awesome way to help get the job done! Thanks for chance to win!!
Mike T
Mitre saw. I install replacement windows and have the entire 20v line up. Bought a couple of the flex volt batteries and they are great. Really want the mitre saw but i had just purchased a new 12″ dewalt like a month before the flex volt came out.
Richard Schott
I would pick the Brushless 7-1/4″ Circular Saw, DCS575 and would use it for cutting roof sheathing while doing roofing.
John Murray
I’d pick the sliding compound miter saw. I’m having a baby with my girlfriend soon so that means I need to get myself a house and that saw would be a dream to help me out with the work needed to update a house in my price range and really make it our own.
Raymond Langer
I’d want to win the Double Bevel Compound Miter Saw Kit. I am a DIY and am currently working on making headboards from aged pallets. The finished product looks great, and the Compound miter saw would be a great asset to my projects!
Gary Coburn
If I win I would take the 60 volt kit with the table saw. I do a lot of interior trim and this would be great.
Chad
I’d go for the Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit, DCK299 to replace my old and badly aging 14.4V drills. I use them for everything from hanging shelves for the kids to securing the new roof joists on the house and whatever I can in between. The Brushless 7-1/4″ Circular Saw, DCS575 would be a close second option.
Gabriel
The power station would be a great addition to my Dewalt cordless collection. I can’t wait for 9 amp batteries!
John P
The circular saw and the sliding miter saw would be an excellent addition to my other dewalt tools.
Richard J
12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw
Getting ready to retire and this would be an upgrade for my shop (basement)
Daniel Cucura
I would go for the sliding compound miter saw. I own the 60v skill saw and table saw, both have worked excellent for me.
I own two houses which we are currently renovating and the miter saw would be perfect for the fine scale carpentry work we are starting soon.
Jacob Camron
I would love to have the recip saw because I am always using it for all sorts of projects in all kinds of materials.
vince
I myself would like the Bluetooth Area Worklight, DCL070 I Like to work at night a lot and really need this.
Halsey Beldon
Need to build a new deck and and new club house for my my son. I’m in need of miter saw and table saw. Anything would help with my future builds
Paul VerNooy
I’d love the 1/2″ VSR Stud and Joist Drill, DCD460.
Ben Becker
Definitely the miter say. It would be amazing to get through a day of cuts without running a cord.
Kelly klein
The miter saw to cut giant crown moulding.
Donald orange
I would pick the miter saw because my daily passion is do custom trim and bettering my skills in the art of trim
Nik Langevin
If I won, I would choose the miter saw. I am always doing odd jobs around the house and in the neighborhood. This miter saw would be perfect for my applications.
Kyle Ward
I would probably pick the Miter kit because I dint have any tool like like it for cutting. I want all of them though lol Although the power station and hammer drill kits would come in handy at work.
Jonathan
For me the flex volt table saw would be perfect as I work on high end kitchen installation and would be great to have such a mobile saw to move around.
No question for me this is the best invention ever
Gregg Miller
I love all the Dewalt cordless tools. If I won I would love to have the compound miter saw. I have a cheap 10″ one now that is in need of being replaced. I am constantly doing work around the house and have found so many uses for a miter saw from studs to trim. I am also interested in getting a cordless impact driver. I asked the in-laws for one for Christmas but they got me a standard driver. ( can you ever have to many of those).
Colin
I’d love to have the miter saw. I’m fresh out of college and recently married and it seems like there’s always something I could build to help our lives out (shoe rack, customized charging station) and repurposing pallet wood has worked well for me in the past, I just don’t have a good saw to cut the boards to length since we both moved away from our families.
Troy DeLung
My choice if I was the lucky winner would be the miter saw. I have a lot of projects outside the summer (desk and fence) that not having to drag out a cord and that shares batteries with my other tools would be a huge plus. Thanks for the opportunity.
Chad lanthier
I would definitely choose the miter saw. Hands down, the portability and still have the power. This saw looks awesome. Huge fan of dewalt all the way. It amazes me the give away you guys do. Who cares about a little ad placement, if it helps to get a free tool it’s all good.
Sarah Read
I would love to have the Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit, DCK299. My set tigjt now is about 10 years old and has seen better days and battery not working as well any more. We moved to a new house and within the next month I have some projects that need to get done around here and could really use new equipment to help out and not slow me down.
Edward Feiler
I would go for the Miter saw because I really need one
Zebaria Johnson
I would love to win the circular saw! Being a rough framing carpenter, a circular saw is a tool I use daily for cutting joists, rafters, studs, etc..
devon farley
I would pick the sliding compound miter saw, and would use it in my handyman business doing finish carpentry.
Kathy Kreft
I would love to win the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790 to use for deck work and flooring. We have a lot of foxing up to do in our house and this would really help.
X
Still debating what I would choose. Unfortunately someone stole my tools right before Christmas so I have to replace all of them. Probably a 20v set and batteries.
Matt Walsh
I would simply choose the Hammer Drill and Impact Driver combo kit! I’ve honestly never owned a cordless drill or driver but have always wanted to. I only have a corded black and decker drill that is less than impressive. Thank you or the opportunity!
Neal Milette
If I won I would choose the sliding miter saw because I’m a trim carpenter/cabinet builder and I don’t have one. It would be handy to have for cutting shelving or only thing bigger than 8″ that a regular saw won’t cut without flipping over.
Mike Osmond
My fav hands down is the FlexVolt cordless sliding miter saw. I could really use one at the moment as well :).
Pawel Sarnacki
I would like to win miter saw. I just remodel my house and I have a lot of base moldings to do and moldings around windows and doors. I am thinking about crown moldings to. so it will be the best gift for me. 🙂
Eddie
Old mitre died dewaltcordless mitre saw great replacement
brian manis
the miter saw or the table saw or the drill driver combo. I would be happy with anything! thanks for the chance at these great quality tools!
David
The DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit.
I have several projects around the house that will need accurate miter saw for. I need to rework the front porch and install wood flooring and new trim down stairs.
Jeff Montanari
I would pick the table saw! Been looking into getting one for awhile now, just haven’t pulled the trigger. Just moved into my first house and have projects everywhere.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Robert Welling
I would like the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790 to finish my garage and basment at my primary home . Thank You
matt prang
If I were lucky enough to win this, I would take the miter saw. I would use it for various projects but mostly my father and I would use it in the shop together. He was diagnosed with a rare form of dementia and he was a carpenter for 50 years. He can no longer work unsupervised but loves being in the environment, just to talk and be useful at all. Good luck to all and thank you for the opportunity!
David Gerhart
I would choose the sliding miter saw to use for all of our pallet projects!
Bee
As a first time homeowner with a fixer upper, the sliding compound mitre saw would be my choice . I cant wait to win this give away and get started on my base trim, crown moldings, deck, unfinished basement, the list goes on!
Al S.
DEWALT DCG414T2 60V MAX 2 Battery FLEXVOLT Grinder
ron foster
I would like to win the Dedwalt FlexVolt tool kit .
Damien Castanon
If I won I would choose the mitre saw. With that bad boy I could redo the base boards and add crown mouldings at home.
Pawel Sarnacki
If i will win, i would like a sliding miter saw. We just bought a house and it need some repairs.
Jason Tidwell
If I were to win I would want the compound sliding miter saw, I’ve worked for contractors before, have kept doing it as a hobby since I became a police officer, now im in the process of starting my own contracting business, and adding this tool to my inventory would help me out with starting my business. Having the ability to set the saw up with out a needed power source is almost limitless for its uses.
Matt
Would love to win the Sliding Miter. Worst mistake I made with tools was buying the fixed miter instead of the sliding one.
Jon Giddens
I currently have a new Dewalt saw and it works great, so I would choose the :20V Max
Portable Power Station, DCB1800
Bluetooth Area Worklight, DCL070
Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit, DCK299
Both of my drills are currently dead and out of service. I have been forced to use an old cord drill to get things done. It has been a total pain. I have not had to extra cash to go buy a new one. This would really save me time and help the budget if I won! Thanks for the opportunity.
Daniel Z
Well I would definitely choose the miter saw! I’ve been using an underpowered undersized and inaccurate relic for years now as other tools have been higher on the list. Needless to saw it would be swell to just set it down and make a cut. Keep my mind on what’s most important. The work at hand!
Thanks for the chance guys!!
Arthur Peale
Which would I pick? There table saw, so I can finally get to all of those projects I’m not working on.
Malwina
I like a sliding miter saw. I have to replace some moldings in my house
Brandon Schmidt
I choose the 12″ sliding miter saw. It would definitely be an upgrade over my current cheap 10″ non-sliding miter saw, plus would help me eliminate another extension cord in my shop.
Thanks for hosting this contest!
Mark
My tool of choice would be the 12″ sliding compound miter saw. In the process of remodeling my house and this would be a tremendous help. I have many drills, a saws all, and skill saw already from Dewalt. I wouldn’t buy anything else.
Danny
I would love to get my hands on any of the 60v stuff but if i had to pick just one I think I would pick the Brushless Circular Saw. Because it is the one I would use the most being a carpenter and doing whole house projects. It would also be awesome not having to charge batteries all day or hoping that the 18v don’t freeze overnight
Brent W
Amazing giveaway! This would be a toss up for me between the miter saw and the joist drill but I think the joist drill would win out in the end. If the miter saw was a 10″ slider I’d be all over it.
Good luck to all entrants!
Ryan McCracken
Would definitely put the hammer drill & impact drill set to good use! I’m a first year apprentice learning to be an electron plumber. Thanks for the opportunity!
Curtis wusstig
If I won I would get the miter saw kit so I could build my dog a new dog house
Doug Siemens
If I won I would choose the 12″ miter saw kit. I’m in the Navy and I would use this saw to help me with making coin holder’s. I have very few tools (mostly all hand tools) so this saw would help me tremendously.
Lee Marchant
I probably would go for the combo kit of the drill and impact and the grinder. Maybe sawzall. Those are what I use most. I’ve got a pretty good setup with Ridgid and Milwaukee tools but the flexvolt idea is neat and I wish I still had my 20 volt still.
Timothy Hemken
I would love the Hammerdrill and Impact 20v unit! I would use it for work, things around the house, and helping other people with projects. I really think Dewalt tools are great!
Dana Turscak
I would love to have the sliding miter saw. I have a ton of crown work to do in our home and my Craftsman miter is too small to make the cuts I need. Plus it’s battery powered. I can take the saw to my work instead of carrying crown up and down the stairs all day!
Bobby Wiliber
If I won, I would chose the flexvolt grinder and 20 volt impact wrench kit. I’m a pipe welder for now 3 years and having a cordless grinder would be nice, not stuck up high in a pipe rack having to drag up cords for grinders. Also not having to drag cords or air hoses for a impact wrench would be a dream too!
Christopher Gould
DEWALT
DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery
Could never buy one for myself. Would make doing trim projects so much easier.
Nate
I just bought a flex volt grinder and love It it works better than my corded, I would want all of them
Cracker02
The versatility of being able to run a miter saw with power would be awesome. I just bought a flexible volt battery for my 20v brushless driver and am waiting for its arrival.
Shannon
DEFINIETLY the miter saw! Thanks!
Arthur Miller
I have used Dewalt tools for years, but do not have many. I would choose the Flex volt slide, chop saw. My wife started the renovations in our bathroom 1 year ago. Unfortunately she passed shortly after. I am slowly getting the ambition back to attack this project once more as it is still gutted. After it was to be completed, the carpets in our bedrooms were to go and be replaced with hardwood flooring. Before my wife passed she had picked out the colours, towels, and the vanity is in the porch along with the tub. Winning this tool would make life alot easier and hopefully speed up the ambition process. Who ever wins, I am sure they will use it well. Cheers
Lori Morris
I would love to have a cordless miter saw to finish building the chicken coop. Right now we string power cords or walk back and forth to the garage to make a cut. Could do lots of home updates. Dewalt is a great product
Darryn
The 60v kit would have just every tool I would need to redo the house and portable enough to take to the cabin and the kids houses for projects
Tell Wilson
Miter saw for woodworking
Jake Sieg
I would pick the batteries cause I just bought the flexvolt grinder it’s badass and I own all the other dewalt tools in the corded version and i have most of the 20volt line up tools. I am an experienced electrician and I’m kinda addicted to dewalt tools so more batteries is all I need
Aldine kimbell
6o v comb0

Josh Hutton
I would love the flex volt grinder and radio for my job as a welder fitter.
matt oneski
Id would love to win the 12″ miter saw. Some customers have a few simple cuts that I can just use the tailgate with a battery and be done.
Matthew J Stern
This setup has really been a game changer for the construction industry. Good luck to all who entered!
Benuel K King
Wow, It says never had more than 500 comments, this topic topped that off with over 600 comments, I would take the 12″ miter saw, due to being Amish and not having easy access to electric it would be very handy. However I never win anything so congrats to whoever wins it!
Kurt Thomsen
If I won, I’d probably go with the 60v Angle Grinder with the 2 batteries so I can keep working. Going cordless would make a huge difference. It would get used for everything, from auto work to house restoration. I’d also be able to help family and friends get the body panels and parts they need from the salvage yard.
Thanks for the opportunity!
Adam Dlugose
Any of the tools would be awesome to have. I would pick the miter saw. Always wanted a nice Dewalt saw and the flex volts are awesome. I would totally build a permanate work bench in the garage.
Charles P. Wright
I’d get the stud drill. The miter and table saw I don’t mind the cord, since they aren’t moving around so much. The stud drill would be great to have power, and not have to have a tail dragging behind.
Brady
Mitre Saw! My younger brother is starting his own carpentry business, and I’d love to help him with these incredible tools. Thanks for the giveaway Toolguyd!
Jim
I think I would choose the table saw. I have a small space for my shop and need a table saw to start working in some built-ins for our dining room.
Heath Whitney
I would love the portable power station. I can see many uses for this at work.
Glenn R
My circular saw wasn’t very good, even when new. So a cordless circular saw would fit my shop nicely. Love my DeWalt tools and I’ve been very happy with all the new cordless options available.
Richard
The table saw or mitre saw…would be great for all my projects
Dustin
Great giveaway!!! Definitely the mitre saw. Mine has seen its better days.
tim collins
that’s a tough one. decisions i guess the table or miter saw. I’m remodeling my house, doing a lot of finished carpentry and those two would be the most helpful.
great GAW!. thx guys.
Shelly D.
I’d have to go Miter Saw. That way my hubby doesn’t have a reason to put off my my do’s on my honey do list anymore! 🙂 A win-win!
Tara V.
I would choose the Miter Saw as well – I got someone a circular saw for Christmas but really struggled with if I should have chosen the miter saw which he needs as well since he is a carpenter. His circular saw was stolen on a jobsite and he needed that more than a miter saw which he has one now which is over 20 years old and doesn’t slide that well anymore (he had to take sandpaper to the bars to get it to slide back and forth). So this would be a great great amazing thing if I won. Thank you for the chance.
Jim Johnson
would love the DHS790 compound sliding miter saw.
The compound miter saw I have had worn out ( it was brand X ) and I would have rather had yours since it is way more portable and better built. I was amazed to see the adds for it and can’t wait to see one in person. It’s just what I need for my home product development and hobby.
Bob Morella
I would love to have the DEWALT DCS575T1 FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Brushless Circular Saw with Brake and 1 Battery Kit, 7-1/4″. This would for building cabinets and making shelves – So handy and great quality!
Brian VandenBos
I would want the 120 volt cordless sliding mitre saw. This would be great for getting in and out of smaller trim jobs where you don’t want to run cords for a few cuts. Also would be great for doing cabinet blocking as you could just put it on a cart and take it room to room for the end cuts.
Justin
Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit, DCK299

https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DCK299D1T1-FLEXVOLT-Brushless-Premium/dp/B01H9BLJ4S/ I would love to win this for hubby because we are remodeling out in-law apartment in the basement so that my elderly mother can eventually move in and this would greatly assist us in things we need to do (kitchen and bathroom), etc.
Jesse Roberts
I would want the kit with a circular saw and impact drill. I need some very bad. I am a realtor, and my wife and I would love to do some work on homes for veteran clients.
Cynthia Stacey
I like the DEWALT DCK590L2 20-Volt MAX Li-Ion 3.0 Ah 5-Tool Combo Kit – it seems to have it all and this would be great for home repairs and also repairs at the shop!! I could use it for building a porch on the front of my house which by the way would look awesome!
Alan Mail
I would want the compound miter saw to make long boards shorter, perhapos with angles.
John S.
I’m torn between the circular saw and table saw, I always have a ton of projects to during the winter months when I’m laid off from work, like building a new entertainment center, shelves, cabinets, etc….. new tools would be great!!!!
Cherjui fu
The sliding miter saw please. I want to replace mine to finish my huge basement- modeling, laminate wood floor, and some shelving. Thanks!
Jeff Weinstein
DHS790 12 miter saw. Great addition to help me build fireplace structures
Mark T
I would be interested in the 60V circular saw as my ryobi 18v saw is not getting the job done. I would use it to break down 4×8 sheets into more manageable pieces to rip on my small table saw. Also, I would like to build a shed some distance from my house and this cordless saw would come in handy.
Cary Simpson
I have recently purchased Dewalt’s flexvolt circular saw and recip saw and they are both awesome! Next up is the flexvolt miter saw to enable me to go cordless on pretty much all of my jobs. Thanks for offering the chance to win one here, and for the detailed tool reviews that you post.
Nic
I would love to get the compound sliding miter saw DHS790. I am a grain bin builder by trade and we use a lot of DeWalt power tools. (the corded 1/2″ impact guns are amazing. We wear them out after they have done at least 5 million 3/8″ bolts) My father/boss uses DeWalt in his hobby wood shop and I love working with that equipment. Now I am building my own wood shop and need tools so I can keep going on projects around the house. My current project is redoing the walk-in closet in my master bedroom. This saw would help so much!
Ben McGinnis
For me, the miter saw would be perfect. I’ve got a custom closet sketched out that I’ve promised my wife but keep putting it off waiting to buy new miter and table saws I can trust to make the accurate cuts I’ll need. Good luck everyone!
Kevin Lai
If I win I would like the power station since I already have dewalt miter saw and table saw to covert them into cordless is exciting. Also use it as multi battery charger would really helps. Wish the radio was part of it then I can complelty replace my dewalt job site radio as well.
Patrick Carter
I would definitely prefer the miter saw. I have many of the other options.
I would use it to help replace some windows in my mother’s house and do some remodeling for her in other areas as well.
Bradley West
I’d probably go with either the table saw or the.miter saw. I work at a hardware store, but if I had one of those, I’d be able to pick up better side jobs after hours, and put that towards my wedding. This is a great giveaway, thank you very much!
Brian Pugh
Love dewalt always have. Would be using the tools on my many construction sites.
Zsolt
Definitely the compound miter! Mine has seen better days! Wait… is that a new table saw? Whaaaaat? Oh man! Dewalt has really stepped up their game!
I am currently building (well trying to) 2 full size bed frames for my daughters. We bought them mattresses in August, but yet to get the frames built. I have a Dewalt table saw from the 70s or early 80s that was passed down that needs some major alignment! HaHa.
The compound miter would do the trick to get the major parts built. My Craftsman is still hanging in there, but not for long.
All this stuff is good. The blog is really useful. I’ve been looking for a good, reliable source (unsponsored) for advice on which tools to get. Even if it’s sponsored or eventually will be, it was valuable and to read it the way you said it is credible for me.
Paul Buck, Jr.
I’d put the12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790 to good use making cabinets and installs. It would also help to finish up the honey-do-list.
Neil
That Flexvolt grinder would be well used for so many projects. Where do I start really?
Dennis
This quality is hard to match. I’ve used inferior quality and just regretted it every time. When others pick up a Dewalt I have they are impressed. I’d love to try the mitre saw.
Nate
most definitely the miter as it’s one of the last power tools I need for my furniture start-up. I can use the money saved on reclaimed timber and hardware. sweet!
Dave Louderback
I’d want the miter saw! I’d use it for everything (molding, framing, etc.), but the cordless aspect would be for maintaining trails/staircases in the woods, and to help work on friends’ cabins.
kevin lebel
looking forward to try the stud & joist drill. miter saw is pretty sweet as well. thanks again dewalt
Tim Becker
Would have to go with the sliding miter saw. I own a remodel business and i have one now that i use, however, sometimes it is difficult to get power to it depending on where i am. Empty houses sometimes require a generator. Almost everything else i own is battery powered by dewalt and it is very convenient!
Robert Stovall
60v table saw will use anywhere power is not availabe building fences building storage buildings
Chris Simeone
I would love to win FLEXVOLT Mitersaw. I help senior citizens in their homes fixing various needs. I donate my time and labor for free because most seniors are on a fixed budget.
Ryan Palkowitsh
If I won I would take the Flexvolt mitre saw. Been thinking of building a treehouse for my kids.
David Kohn
I’d definitely choose the table saw. I had to sell my contractor table saw when we moved a few years ago and have regretted it ever since then. My workshop has been limited without it. It would get good use both in my handyman business and my woodworking projects and allow me to expand my projects to some larger pieces.
Ben
I’d have to go with the Mitre saw. I currently have a large collection of dewalt tools for my career in electrical. But I don’t have any tools to help with home projects. I’d really like to build my own house, but with the saving for the down payment, I haven’t had much left for tools for the construction. My girlfriend (soon to be fiancé, shhh) has this dream of what she would like, and I’d like nothing more than to have the tools to make her dream come true!
Jim
Love De Walt cordless tool now 65 years old and these tools keep me going like never before I would like to get flexvolt meter saw to my chest
Mark gramillo
If i wi i would choose the table saw. Since im looking into remodeling my daughter’s rooms .
Robert Stovall
60v table saw to use anywhere power is not available starting to build house, fence ,deer stand in woods. Duck blind on river.
Attila
I would love to have the miter saw.
James
I’d take the table saw. Would be used for my side business building decks.
Jim
Sliding compound mitre saw!
Bruce shaar
Hi tool guy, awesome thing your doing here the Dewalt tool I would love to would have to be DHS716T2 FLEXVOLT 12″ 120V MAX DOUBLE BEVEL COMPOUND MITER SAW WITH (2) 60V LION BATTERIES AND FAST CHARGER. I had just ventured off on my own and started my own handyman service and my brother wants his saw back. This would be an awesome addition to my toolbox so that I don’t have to hunt down a power source. Thanks in advance and good luck to all the contestants.
Brandon hogue
DEWALT
DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery
I would be using this tool to finish my basement, my garage, and my daughters play house, and other such projects around the house, also living the idea you can have battery powered or corded for continuous use.
Victor J Galbraith Jr
I would choose the DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery. I am always making projects with my Son, Daughter and Grandkids
Jason
If I won I would want the miter saw. I am trying to get my construction business going here in Texas. The saw would be awesome for me.
Shari Klyn
I would choose the DEWALT DCK299D1T1 20V MAX FLEXVOLT Brushless Premium Hammer Drill and Impact Combo Kit for my boyfriend. His son stole all his tools and sold them to buy drugs. He is starting all over again with his tool collection.
Adam Lutz
I would like the 4-1/2″ – 6″ Grinder, DCG414.
Nate
most definitely the miter as its one of the last power tools needed for my furniture start-up. i could use the money saved for reclaimed timber and hardware. sweet!
Nathan Bickers
The 12″ miter saw would be a perfect addition to my shop. It would be great to not have to rely on finding an outlet to plug into or run extension cords to get the saw close to my work area
William James
I would definitely take the Table saw kit! I have one outlet in my garage!
Kristian M
Dewalt Facebook page sent me here. I’m sure I will be back soon, this seems like an awesome site.
I just bought a dewalt 20v xrt drill as my first power tool so I would choose the miter saw if I won. That would make a (hopefully) soon to be home owner/flipper very happy.
Boyneskibum
That flex volt mitre saw would be perfect for working on outdoor projects!
Dan Dolar
I’d want to win the DCK299D1T1 20V MAX FLEXVOLT Brushless Premium Hammer Drill and Impact Combo Kit – I’d use it to tackle my honey-do list!
Ashley
Think I’d go with the sliding compound miter saw. I would probably try to tackle adding additional cabinets to my kitchen and building a new vanity!
RONALD ODOM
the miter saw! my trigger is iffy.
ryan little

by DEWALT
Josh
Sliding miter saw would be great
Jason
Would choose the grinder for my tile business or the table saw to help me with projects around the house such as a baby nursery & finished basement! Thanks for the chance.
Scott Steele
I would love to have the DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit. I prefer Dewalt tools over all others.
Brad Johnson
I would pick the miter saw for azek trim work
Doug Smith
I work construction and I have already bought the 60v drill and driver set. For my work I am looking to get the circular saw, sawzall, and grinder for now. I am hoping that they come out with a SDS sometime too. These tools would be great for my work.
Steven Burget
The 12″ sliding compound miter saw would be my 1st choice. Have several projects that would be alot easier to do with it. Plus the ability to run it on battery power would make several outside projects a snap.
Geoff
I would pick the miter saw. After having just bought our first house, this would be the most useful tool to have for DIY type projects. Thanks!
Charles Page
If I won I would like to get the DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery then I could go to all my handyman jobs that I do in my community for the elderly and not have to bother them with needing to plug my saw in or trying to find an outlet and run a bunch of cord all over the place. It would make my life a whole lot easier.
Lyle
I would like to receive and use a Dewalt DHS790 12″ Sliding Company Miter Saw for building our retirement home and garage. This would be a blessing to be a winner of this versatile tool. Thank you.
Ryan Horikoshi
Oh, jeez I’d love the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790. I have been day dreaming about building a built-in entertainment center to house my TV and sound system so it is not sitting out in a giant mess in my family room. I’ve never taken on something as big as built-in cabinetry before, but a miter saw would definitely help.
Nate Winegar
FLEXVolt Table Saw!!!! The missing link in my modular workshop/garage. Space and outlets are at a premium, and this answers the call on both.
Fold-down bench sander and bench grinder, check. (Porter-Cable & Old Delta)
Dust collection rolling cart, check. (DeWalt 12 gallon)
Collapsable router table, check. (DeWalt DW618)
Rolling miter-saw and cart, check. (DeWalt DW718)
Mobile Table saw with no amperage draw….MIA.
Here’s you chance to fill that void. Send me the DeWalt FLEXVolt DCS7485T1.
Thanks for being AWESOME!!
John F
I would choose either the slide compound miter saw or the circular saw. I have some work to do on a cabin where there is no electricity nearby. I would love to not have to use a gas generator! Thanks ToolGuyd and Dewalt!!
Samantha Howard
The 12″ miter saw would be my pick. My husband and I are building an art studio in the back yard for me and the kiddos and this would be so helpful!
Todd Erskin
If I won I would pick the 12″ sliding compound miter saw. I build custom homes and I am currently building a home off the electrical grid. We have a solar system for power but it would be great to not have to have power to run my miter saw.
Walter
Getting my company up and running and it be great to load my trailer full of dewalt tools
Piero Protti
I would choose the table saw our either of the miter saws. My current saw is excellent but does not have the precision these guys provide. Would certainly step up my game!
bob urz
The miter saw would be great!
James Bushaw
This would be amazing. I am a carpenter and this past year I had several of my tools on a job site and they were stolen. I lost my contractors saw and miter saw both Dewalt. The contractor saw served me well for many years but the miter saw, circular saw and nailer were newer. I have been using my older tools and replacing items as I could afford them and have been looking at the new flexvolt system.
Anyone of these systems would be amazing. If I had to pick one the 60 volt system would be the most versatile for me and go along way in getting me back on track.
Frank
Wow! What an amazing opportunity! I’m a retired military guy and with the extra time I now have,I find myself doing more and more minor home repair jobs for family and friends. I actually have more requests than I can keep up with because I only charge for materials and my lunch. Dewalt’s awesome Flex Volt miter saw or table saw would be a great battle buddy!
Amberlyn Garrubba
I would love the DEWALT FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Bare Tool Brushless Reciprocating Saw and 20V MAX FLEXVOLT Brushless Premium Hammer Drill and Impact Combo Kit! These would make great gifts to my husband who is the construction business and needs cordless tools to move around more freely. I would use them myself too on home DIY projects.
W. Johnston
I would like to have sliding compound miter saw and would use it as I volunteer to repair/build houses such as Habitat for Humanity or Christmas in April.
Danny
Mitre saw. Work on remodeling my house.
Lionel
I would love to have the 1/2 joist and stud drill Dcd 460. I love dewalt tool that is all I have and would be very happy to add to my collection. I’m an electrician so it would get plenty of use
James Bushaw
I am a carpenter and earlier this year I had several tools on a job site that were stolen. I lost my contractor saw, miter saw, impact, nailer, a couple ladders, and a few hand tools. They took everything there. My Dewalt miter saw, nailer and impact were newer and while my contractor saw was older it still had life in it.
I have been replacing the tools as I have had the funds to replace them and have had to use what I have to get the job done. I have been looking at the new flex volt system and since you are making more tools in the USA again I have been saving up.
All the systems are amazing. If I had to choose one I think that the 60 volt system would go along way on getting me caught up and really help
Ken
Oh man I would love the 12″ sliding miter saw. My wife and I are building a studio and other house renovations that would go a lot smoother with this saw.
Merle
If I win I would love the table saw!!! I do all kinds of projects at home….. just got married so I’m slowly trying to buy all my tools!!
Thresha Kilkenny
I would select the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790 for all the projects we have around the house. We’re going to be building a new porch and deck, replacing siding and fascia, redoing our wooden privacy fence, etc. This would certainly help in all our projects!
Aaron Bosgraaf
I would love to win the miter saw kit to help my landscaping company builds the gazebos, decks and fences where power can be an issue
Spencer
It would be a pleasure to win the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw!!! One of the greatest tools ever created. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
Ethan Snyder
If I won I would choose the reciprocating saw with 2 batteries, grinder bare tool, and the oscillating tool.
Savannah Hadden
The 12″ sliding compound miter saw for me! I would use it to make wood signs. Right now I have a cheap saw that keeps rusting and is just no good. This would be a huge helpful upgrade!!
Aaron Sokolewicz
I’d like them all but my first choice would probably be the miter saw
Tony Havens
I would love to win the compound miter saw. Would be great to complete all the projects around the house and shop.
Brett A Landry
Sliding miter, check out my facebook page and you will see what I would do with it. My name is Brett A Landry. I have two dewalt sliding miters now, they last about 2 years i use them so much.
Brock Jacobson
If I won, I would pick the miter saw. I have needed one for a long time now. I would use it for my side projects (flooring, decks, sheds, any other misc that friends and neighbors need) and also for work. I do remodeling and it would be perfect. Also I would like to start framing, not framing building but picture framing. My wife is a freelance artist and that would help her out greatly. And finally when I am not busy with all of that I like to build furniture as a hobby. Hopefully I will win because that miter saw would be a great addition to my tool collection.
Jim
I’d definitely love the DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit – 2 Battery.
Regarding the promo giveaway, I 100% agree with and support. Especially since a) you purchased the product (albeit with the advertising dollars) and b) you give a fair and unbiased review. Plus it never hurts to share the wealth with the customer. 😉 Happy and Healthy Holidays!
Jean-Paul
Brushless circular saw for sure. Enough power to cut all day without the worry of cutting the power cord. That thing looks sweet!
John H
I would pick the 120v. kit. We are finishing the basement and I need both the saws for cutting studs and molding. Would definitely beat borrowing or renting.
Josh Duffey
I would definitely want the DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit. I already have this as the next tool purchase I need to make so that I can start building my custom shelving units. I can already smell the sawdust in the air! It would be so great to win this kit!!!
Tom S
Thanks for the giveaway! I would love to win the compound miter saw or table saw. Got a new 20v max drill for Christmas so let’s add to the dewalt madness!
Dalton
I would love to get the flexvolt circular saw, I’ve been wanting a cordless circular saw for a while but I’m a college student so I don’t have the cash to get one. The circular saw would really help me out right now because I am helping my parents fix their house and the flex volt would be the best thing I can think to get!
Derek Bryan
That miter saw! Table saw would be a close second though! I’ve been building decks for 25 years and LOVE DeWalt tools! I’d definitely use them to build me a nice new deck!
Richard McClellan
I would use the flex volt miter saw to make money for my family of 6 could definitely use one
Robert Marshall
I would probably go for the table saw, I order a lot of acrylic sheets that need to be cut down to 12″x12″ so this would save some tim and money, it would be a lot easier to put this in a car than a 4×8 sheet. It’ll also take some of the work load off my miter saw (not the flex volt)
thomas obrien
i would go for the miter saw, i’d use it for my furniture builds.
Alexander O Allen
I’d choose the 7 1/4″ flex volt saw and battery pack. I’d appreciate having the power of a corded saw as a cordless/ on the go…. I’m a PM, so I’m bouncing jobsite to jobsite handling punch here & there…
Ron Shadwell
I would love the DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit, This would be a great upgrade from my old 12″ Dewalt saw I have now that would make installing crown molding and trim so much quicker and easier, along with many other jobs that need the precision cuts that Dewalt tools give me time after time.
Evan Klingbeil
I would pick the miter saw. Having started my own woodworking business 5 months ago i am slowly gathering the tools that make the job easier. Out in the field, having something that would be easy to haul around a house or somewhere that doesnt have power readily available would be a great advantage. Plus the accuracy and dependability of dewalt tools makes the outcome of the work that much more quality.
Jon Cannard
The 60V set looks like it would suit me well. I need a wide variety of tools for general repair and construction. Thanks!
CW Ellis
Dewalt BRUSHLESS compact drill and impact driver combo kit to upgrade a failing cordless collection among others!
CJ Brown
I would pick one of the Miter Saws. We are starting bathroom renovations so this would come in quite handy!!!
Michael C Armatta
My pick is the 120v Sliding compound miter saw for build projects at the house and finally get that Crown molding done!!!
William Popowicz
I am a cabinetmaker who has just about all the Dewalt 20V battery tools but I would love to add the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790 to my tool arsenal. I think Dewalt puts out great and innovative tools and if I need a tool Dewalt is always where I look first.
Marcus Fry
Reciprocating Saw, DCS388 for me.
Kent Penigar
I would enjoy using the Cordless Table saw.
Rob Van Zeeland
I’m pretty sure I’d have to go with either the 5-tool kit or the compound miter saw. My kids’ bathroom needs a major overhaul.
Alfred Carter
If I won I would like to win the 60V circular saw kit. For someone who just recently started working in the construction field this specific tool would help me a lot both at work and at home.
Jeremiah
I think I would want the miter saw. My current miter saw is on its last leg anyway. Plus, I just think it would be cool to know I could take it anywhere and make stuff. No generator or extension cord needed.
Rusty Everage
Easy choice for me. I would select the DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit
I am about to gut my whole upstairs and remodel it this spring. The miter saw would be a perfect addition to replace my old circular saw for this project. Thanks for doing the giveaway!
Chris Harsh
I would choose the 60V kit for some projects I have coming up in 2017. (Building railings for a front porch, ramp for a shed, and some interior wall repairs.)
Chad Wellman
If I won I would pick the miter saw. I work in multifamily construction and would be perfect my line of work. Installing trim, miscellaneous punch work etc. Cords are such a hassel and power isn’t always available where you need it.
Timothy Baca
I would pick the BSR stud joist drill. I’ve gone back and forth over getting the 20v max impact driver with the ⅞” quick release chuck for using an auger bit to drill holes through studs, or waiting (and spending more) on the flex volt drill. Being an electrician, we’re usually somewhere with no power or if there is its 100′ away and you have to drag a cord throughout the whole house to drill it out before wiring. Right now I use my 20v max premium hammer drill if I need a cordless option but I can burn through 4 batteries drilling a house and the drill get really hot.
Timothy Baca
Sorry VSR autocorrected to BSR for some reason.
Mary Becker
Well, for me, the 12″ Fixed Head Compound Miter Saw, DHS716 would be the choice. We have a laundry room that has to be totally redone and this would be great to cut the wood panel boards as well as all the trim pieces. And then after that project comes working on a barn.. siding it plus .. again, this would come in very handy for that! And I’m sure we’ll like it so much we’ll create another project afterwards!!
John Harper
I would have to choose the hammer drill and impact combo to go along with my other dewalt tools that I already own. I would use them on all my projects that I work on throughout the year.
Rob
The FlexVolt Miter saw. Having a cordless miter saw on the jobsite that is as powerful as a corded saw is a definite plus. Cheers!!
Nancy Bahamondes
I would love to win this for my husband so he can finish all the little pending projects we have around the house so it would be like winning twice. I would like to get the the table saw, DEWALT DCS7485T1 FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Table Saw Kit, 8-1/4.
Kevin
Id like the miter saw. I could use it for a kinds of jobs I got planned for around the house
Josef Millis
The battery tablesaw would be fantastic!!! It would be used daily in my business. Thanks for the opportunity!!!
Peter Fitzpatrick
Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit, DCK299
But, I couldn’t win if I was the only one with a ticket! 🙂
Thomas McConnell
I’d like to win the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790, and I’d use it for….EVERYTHING! Just getting ready for some major updating at my house, and so many of the cuts I will be making NEED a miter saw to make them PROPERLY! A circular saw is great, but it does have its limits!
Doyce
If I were to win I would take the battery station and batteries. It would be the most useful tool for my situation seeing as I do some traveling and having a 120 volt power source would be a nice thing.
Chuck Earhart
If I won I would pick the new cordless Miter Saw so I could replace my old corded Dewalt miter saw I’ve had for 15+ years. I have been wanting to pick up a cordless miter saw for some time now. Was looking into the Milwaukee M18 Miter saw but didn’t like that it ONLY runs off of the battery packs. What would I do with it? Make my coworkers want to go out and get one after using mine. We build and install custom cabinets and counter tops.
Roger
I would like the table saw..be nice to have a saw to use where there no power…
William
Hmm, that’s a tough one. I’d probably have to go with the miter saw kit, but the table saw kit is also very tempting.
Mike Malone
Would love to win the “DEWALT DCS575T1 FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Brushless Circular Saw”. I want to replace my trusty Porter Cable corded circular saw when I’m out in the yard so I don’t have to run an extension cord.
Brian Pope
I would have to go with the table saw and grinder. So many projects run through my head just thinking about them
Jake Brunette
I would appreciate any package and would use anything won, however I am just a hobbiest, I have several dewalt tools I use regularly, I would like to see how much better the new flexvolts are compared to my 18 v impacts and drills. I also would like to see if a battery powered mitre saw can last long enough to be practical, so if possible the drills or mitre saw please!. Very cool giveaway either way, thanks for doing it
evan bohnet
I would pick the 12 in double bevel sliding compound miter saw.
I would finally be able to put a deck up and make some furniture for the house. I’m sure my friends would be happy as well.
Jacob McLaughlin
If I were to win I would choose the circular saw or miter saw. My dad and I are residential/commercial contractors and power tools are of abundant use. Especially circular saws This 60volt max Dewalt circular saw would be perfect with the power it possesses and convenience accompanied with. Most cases we are framing a house or building a subfloor are the electrical utilities are not of use. So we have to bring a generator with us and extension cords like you would not believe then move around constantly it is a hassle. So I would really enjoy the opportunity to use this saw and make work easier and faster. The miter saw would also be a great tool to own constant trim and baseboard cutting/mitering would be made easier with the 120volt miter saw. So I really hope I can own either of these two fantastic tools offered by Dewalt to make are daily jobs more convenient.
Brad B
Wow. Amazing giveaway. If i was lucking enough to win I would choose the Dewalt Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit, DCK299. With this kit i could really make a dent in my to do list around the house. So many possible projects i can do with these tools. Thank you guys for this awesome giveaway.
Jim Keele
Portable power station dcb1800
I’m a professional Handyman this would be great for my work.
Almost all of my tool are DeWalt!
Thank you for this opportunity.
Gabriel Velez
Very nice sweepstakes. Nice to give the winner the choice. I guess I would like the Dewalt DCS388T2 FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Brushless Reciprocating Saw with 2 Battery Kit.
I would use it to rough cut many items around the home and property.
Junior silva
Mitre saw is my favorite, the ability to not have to deal with extension cords or generators on a job site for quick things would be a game changer.
Jerry Lager
I would get a kit with a circular saw, reciprocating saw, drill, and impact if available to replace my Craftsman setup. I woke use it on home repairs and woodworking projects.
Gloria marquez
I would pick the hammer drill my house needs repairs from doors, windows, roof, ect this would help alot and make it easier
Russell Snow
Definitely the 120 volt 12 inch compound sliding miter saw. Im a carpenter and work is booming for me at the moment. Im truely blessed for that and to have this saw would make my job so much more convenient and productive.
Andrew Catron
I’m torn between the chop saw and table saw. They are the only things I dont have in cordless yet! I can’t wait to get my hands on some flex volt! Too many projects are waiting on motivation and new tools usually do the trick.
Joseph Dillinger
I would like that miter saw so my wife and I can finish up the trim on our house and not worry about we’re to get the power from in all the rooms we have left to do. DHS790
Eric Wilborn
I’d have to go with the 2” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit with 2 batteries. I’m looking to build a couple of doghouses and bookshelves! (Yes, our dogs like to read.)
Tara Doyals
I’d have to choose the 60v MAX. There are so many things I could build, like raised gardens beds, a bigger dog house, a play housed for my niece, some benches for outside sitting, etc.
Joey VonBokel
I would want the led Bluetooth work light because I would use it out side when I’m working on stuff
Edward Rathsam
Compound Sliding Miter Saw
i would use it to remodel my house
Scott Singer
I would need the miter saw to replace the one my cat knocked off my work bench and bent the saw head. I have a Dewalt portable saw frame so it would be perfect. I have 3 retaining walls, a greenhouse, and 2 bridges to repair on my aunt’s property along with several other woodworking projects. Haven’t had $$ to replace saw as I am in nursing school. Graduate soon. Please pick me!!!!!!
Joel

Jaime Lew
Would love to get the Cordless Miter saw so I can take it to my job and not have to worry about finding an outlet or a generator. My Hitachi corded saw is nice, but it isn’t a Dewalt and it is not cordless.
Jonathan G
I would choose the DEWALT DCK590L2 20-Volt MAX Li-Ion 3.0 Ah 5-Tool Combo Kit. My family & I don’t have a lot of tools, and this would be a great start into that. I would use them to fix things around our home.
Dana Kilner
I would pick the miter saw as well. Have found myself many times working on various projects where power is not readily available, and this would give so much flexibility.
John Kopetsky
The 60V set would work best for my home woodworking and construction projects.

Guitarman
Gosh!I was just looking at these today at Home Depot. It seems that my cordless circular saw Dc390 “The Termite” is about to retire after 8 years of being my go to saw for literally everything.I have used it for crown and handrails when I did not have the Miter saw on the truck. The new tools look great.Just too expensive for most of us carpenters/woodworkers who still have kids at home.I would jump at the sliding miter saw. Why,Sliding saw you can cut dadoes,Tenons.Make custom crown moldings in addition to all the other routine trim work.
Gerald Vandervoord
If I’m one winner I get the right angle grinder

Nolan
If I were to win I would probably choose the sliding miter saw. As a farmer I would use it for many different jobs as well as hobbies in my garage.
Glenn Tolles
I would like to win all them but I would pick the table saw. I do a lot of work where there is no power so I usually have to rip boards with my circular saw. It would fit nicely in my van. I have used battery dewalt tools for 18 years since I started my business. I could do a lot of ripping with it.
Rod Norton
I’d go with the 12″ sliding dual bevel mitre saw. That thing is bad a$$
Casey Collins
I’d go for the 12″ miter. My wife and I bought her first home last year and I’ve got the bug. I’ve just begun building my tools collection and look forward to taking on some home improvement projects!
JJ
The sliding mitre saw would be great! First thing I’d make would be some fancy boxes for my daughter. She’s 5 and has a lot of teddy bears. Maybe teddy bear boxes that together look like an old circus style train… with bungee cords for “bars” across the front.
Casey Collins
12″ miter saw. The power and portability seem second to none!
Brad Davis
I would go with the power station, Great for running them tools that are not yet available in cordless, also would take camping and to the great tailgate parties.
Randy McCreary
A miter saw or a table saw would be great but I would probably get a new tool set.
Jim Corrigan
The 8 1/4 table saw. I’ve recently started making some furniture and the only thing I don’t have is a table saw.
Edward Meza
I would pick the miter saw. I’m always doing side projects for the house or just to make to sell. Dewalt by far has the best tool in the industry. They never failed me. Love yalls tools.
Steven Cordova
A 8-1/4″ Cordless Table Saw, DCS7485 would be a perfect fit for my small work space.
Richard Galloway
I’d pick the recip saw since it’s so much easier to use a cordless one than to run power cords across the job site.
Craig Slocum
20v max, I would use the impact for all my automotive needs
Stan Diamond
Just a retired DIYer who would love to have some cordless tools to build projects for our home and our daughter’s home.

Jim Wood
I’m a DIY home owner that does OK…Sometimes I help friends and family. Having a DEWALT DHS790AB FLEXVOLT miter saw would have made my life a lot easier.
Paul c
If I won I’d love to try out those new 9ah 60v batteries. I’m a carpenter and I’ve been using dewalt tools for over 15 years now with no complaints. I just started upgrading my 18v tools to the 20v line up and Im not ready to start another upgrade to the 60v tool line but I’d like to see how much more runtime I could get on my 20v tools with the 60v batteries. The table saw, new radio that charges 12 20 and 60v batteries or power station that I didn’t even know exsisted until I saw a review for it on toolguyd look pretty awesome as well
Ellie Roby
I would love to win the miter saw!!! I’ve been longing for one for sooo long!!!
Jim Fessenden
Thanks much for sponsoring! I could really use that Table saw … and that circular saw would do wonders! Thanks again for the opportunity.
Jeremy Deer
I would pick the miter saw. because me and my wife closed on our first house this year and i have no wood working tools. with everything that we want to update in our new home it sure would come in handy. plus it would be a great start to my budding Dewalt tool collection. so far i have the drill and driver combo pack!
Thomas Kapaun
I would choose the miter saw. I am planning an addition to my home and need to get the tooling together to get the job done.
Bill Ryan
The table saw would be awesome! Plenty of projects around the house and shop to keep busy. The miter saw would be my 2nd choice. I think this is a great giveaway and I have no problem with it being tied to an ad.
John fal
I have to agree with allot of the other posters, that miter saw is pretty cool and of course I’d love to have it. Sorry not going to say allot of stuff like “I’m going to make grandmaw a swing” and “build the neibors new homes”. But I would get allot of handy use out of it.
But here I go, lol, my bro-in-law would have it more than I would. He does habitat & disaster mission work through his church, so he would probably get the most use out of it.
Ps. Love this website! Will tell him about it.
RICHARD CARPENTER
ALL OF THEM
Jason
I’d go with the miter or table saw. I’d use it for home improvement projects.
Sarah C
The miter saw would be cool to win I would give it to my dad cause on his free time from work he helps build me stuff with wood and his equipment is all 30+ yrs old so not it the best shape. I know this would help him help me lol. This is a amazing giveaway thanks for the chance
Or
If I win, I would love the table saw. I’ve founded a new wood alone and I think this table saw will realy help me cutting long pieces. Thank you for the oppertunity!
Christian Krumrie
I would pick the miter box, being as my shop got broke into and they stole that and a few other low $$ things, I only had it for 3 months and have yet to replace it
Gregory Russell
This could be a tough decision but the stud drill might come in first and would be just in time for a new job we got for a new hotel, the grinder would go along with the drill nicely too!
Steve Brendemuehl
During the Summer I accidently back over the wood gate at my friends place and have been meaning to rebuild the gate. The 12″ miter saw would make the project a breeze. Being able to cut all the lumber without dealing with cords would be awesome. Then being able to assemble the rest with my line up of dewalt tools
Osher
DEWALT
DCS575T1 FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Brushless Circular Saw with Brake and 1 Battery Kit, 7-1/4″
I will build chairs and a table for my nany.
Thanks
Andrew Lupariello
I would definitely go for the portable power station. As an independent contractor, There never seems to be an outlet close enough to my corded tools.
Isaac grove
If I won I would take the table saw. I wouldn’t use it because I would give it to my father. He does a lot of projects around his house and barn that this would be great for. Also I broke the last table saw he had and this would be a great replacement.
I’ve broke a lot of my fathers tools growing up. It would be nice to win something to give back to him
Wojciech Michniewicz
I would go for the table saw , i’d use for my floor project
Greg Sutton
DEWALT DHS790AT2 FLEXVOLT 120v MAX 12” Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw Kit would be my choice. My son is a trim carpenter by trade and the capability of battery vs. corded in remote sites would eliminate the hassels of toting a generator around.
Tom Ciccarello
If I won, I would get the compound miter saw. I would use it to renovate the house my wife and I are looking to purchase.
Kevin
Miter saw. The current 10″ black n decker trigger has good n bad days. I share the tool with dad so it be nice to have a quality tool to rely on. I never win at the’s contests so let’s see…
leah leitch
FlexVolt miter saw kit would help my hubby trim up our reno like a boss!
James millsap
The miter saw for sure!
I hang trim all the time and having to use 300-400 ft of cords all the time isn’t always practical or possible. Cordless would make life a dream!
Eric
I’d either want the table saw or the miter saw preferably the miter saw because I do alotta woodworking with my father and his miter saw is starting to shit the bed the cuts havnt been as accurate as I’d like and Id love to surprise him with a new one especially a cordless one witch would def make my day and his day alott easier it’d make his year and make work alot easier with a new one
Terry Jamison
DHS790AB Compound Mitre saw
I’d use it for my kichen remodel, basement kitchenet addition and adding new baseboard throughout the house.
Chad
Thanks for sponsoring the contest. I would definitely pick the double bevel compound sliding miter saw kit. It would be handy as I work to maintain our old Victorian home.
Travis Standley
I’d pick the miter saw!!
I live in Montana and I would use it for finishing the house we just bought and building a new barn on my property.
Andrew Swanson
Table saw would be amazing looking to build my own cabinets in the house!!
David Kaplan
The sliding miter saw would come in handy. Be nice to see a flex-volt 3-laser level (green), mostly because I could really use one, and, if I won, would love to make that my prize!
Zach
If I won I would chose the Sliding Compound Miter. I’m a starting out contractor and this would be perfect for the business
Tyler Miller
Definitely the sliding miter saw. My miter saw is a 3rd gen handed down dewalt. It’s got to be everybit of 18 years old. Starting to show its age and grunting through pieces. Glad to see a quality group doing an awesome giveaway.
kelly bills
If I won I would pick the cordless table saw. I am forever needing my table saw outside and not having to have a long extension cord would be a godsend. This would be awesome to take to those sites where I need a saw and don’t have an outlet. Thanks for the contest!
Mark Wiltgen
I would pick the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw
T to the OM
Miter saw for sure
I would use it for meat slicing . cold cuts!!!
James Heck
I’d have to go with the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw. I do not have a miter saw any longer. Back to circular saw for now. It would be great to mobile, I take my tools with me, for habitat projects, plus doing home projects, and crafts for my wife
Bo Bills
The flexvolt MiterSaw would be amazing. I can’t tell you how many times I have had to drag my current mitersaw around. Trying to set it up, move it around and find a plug is always a struggle. This would be a dream and would save so much time, effort and frustration.
Eric Bachelder
I would choose the sliding miter saw! I just bought a new house and am going to attempt installing the wood flooring. We have about 900 sq ft of flooring to go down on the main floor and I have a 10″ Craftsman saw right now that is dying. I really hope that I am the winner. I would go crazy if you happened to pick me! Thank you for doing this. I love reading this everything you post on here. I visit almost everyday and can’t wait to see what you have in store for 2017! Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to win such an awesome prize!!
Noel D
I would go for the sliding miter saw. So much more versatile than my current miter saw.
Tracy L. Hall Sr.
60v 9AH Batteries.
I invested in the Flex-volt line-up a couple months ago with the exception of the Reciprocating saw and grinder. So far so good.
Bruce Bender
12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, DHS790 , SIGN ME UP !
but heck I’d even love to have the 7 1/4″ brushless circ. saw
great for those remote location jobs without access to power
Deik Didericksen
The DEWALT DCS7485T1 FLEXVOLT 60V Max* 8-1/4″ Table Saw Kit would be my choice if I was lucky enough to win. I am in love with all of the Dewalt tools, but the sawsall and table saw have both had my eye. I am intrigued by the new flex technology from DeWalt. I am going to be finishing my basement, and any tools would help with this. Thanks!
David Eckels
Circular saw- lots of dismantling and re-mantling to do.
brad v
If I won I’d choose the circular saw. That the tool I avoid the most due to the Hassel of the power cord.
AJ Sween
Definitely in need of a circular saw and reciprocating saw. Maybe a cutoff tool as well. I have a lot of remodeling that goes on in my house, and the next area is the attic. I’d hate to have to run cords from my bedroom up through the tiny access and then try not to trip over them in the dark.
John McLeod
That’s an impressive system. I haven’t been keeping up with how far cordless tools have progressed. I hope I win!
Bill Mclaughlin
I would like to win the 12 in compound mitre saw. I’m a carpenter and currently doing a lot of new construction. We are using generators that can’t keep up with with the compressor, mitre saw, table saw, etc.
Dylan Pepper
I would like the 12″ compound sliding miter saw. I would use it for cabinet making and preping turning blanks. I am constantly making cabinets and headboards and having an accurate miter saw would sure making things go together alot smoother. I do alot of wood turning on the lathe too and having square ends to start with would make mounting blanks a breeze.
Aaron B
Definately would go with the miter saw!
James
Table saw! We have been wanting one for ages now, but since this sweet innovation hit the market, we felt it was worth saving up for!
Tim Schmit
I hope to win the DCS575 7 1/4″ circular saw. I am a flooring contractor and I would use it on the jobs. I guess I could use it on honey-do’s also. Thanks
Travis
I would love to have work on my metal would be a 4-1/2″ – 6″ Grinder, DCG414 and to help to take things apart would be Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Combo Kit, DCK299
thank you toolguyd for give all this stuff way
John
I need this to work where there is no AC power. Flexvolt 12″ sliding miter saw
Allen
If I won, I’d choose the sliding miter saw kit. I just purchased a home recently and there are tons of storage projects I’d love to tackle, i.e. shelving, drawers, cabinets. There’s also some framing I want to put up in the garage as a part of the storage solution. We have too much random stuff and nowhere to put it!
Pat D.
If I was lucky enough to win I’d pick the 12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw. Before starting construction work last year I’ve only ever used a table saw… now that I’ve used a miter saw (although a junky jobsite one) I have been looking to pick up my own. My parents just moved this would be perfect for a few projects planned: I will be putting a bathroom in the basement, going to expand the kitchen, and adding a mud room to the front of the house.
Beau Sigrist
I’d choose the sliding miter saw. I’d use it for a new deck, among various other projects.
Annette H
I would love the DEWALT DCS7485T1 FLEXVOLT 60V MAX Table Saw Kit, 8-1/4″ to help with all the home improvement projects around our 100+ year old home.
Jason Cribbs
I would love to win the 120v 12″ Fixed Compound Miter saw. I am trying to get my son into woodworking. His social skills are lacking and he is not that athletic so over the years he has withdrawn. I think the ability to create things while being by himself will appeal to him. We have done some small projects lately but are going to build our own workshop this summer. This saw would help greatly with that. Thank you so much for this opportunity.
Delwyn Ching
If I win, I would pick the cordless or corded table saw to continue with the ongoing home renovation. I have a Rigid corded miter saw which does a great job so far. A table saw will compliment it and I won’t have to use a circular saw and a saw guide made of a 8 ft 1″ x 2″ furring strip clamped at both ends.
Chad Boyd
I would love to win the DEWALT DHS716AT2 FLEXVOLT 120V MAX 12” 2-Battery Fixed Miter Saw Kit. My miter saw has seen it’s last days, and my job is much harder without it. I am a finish carpenter, and I would use this on the job almost every day if I were lucky enough to own it!
Isabel Simeone
Would love miter saw for my husband. Couldn’t afford a Xmas gift this year
Jeff B
I wouldn’t mind winning something. I have never won a giveaway like this before. If I so happen to win I would pick the 60v tracksaw. With me still being in school I can’t go spending hundreds of dollars on a tracksaw. If the kit so happens to be more than $700 which I’m guessing comes with the saw, basic flexvolt blade, 2 batteries, one short rail, and 2 track clamps, I would pick the table saw kit as my plan b option. I’m itching to try my hand at furniture making at home and either saw would be very beneficial for ripping. Tablesaw for small pieces and track saw for large pieces.
Brett King
The 60V kit would help so much since i have to replace the entire floor in my house since the crawl space wasn’t ventilated properly. All the floor joists as well. The floor joists rotted due to the humidity in the summer time. That stud and joist drill would really help a lot, as well as the cordless circular saw. Come to think of it, the table saw could really help with new baseboards after the floor gets done. UGH!!!
Joe
I’d definetely want the stud and joist drill just to be more efficient at work and make my life a little easier!
J. Martinez
I think you guys footing the bill on the giveaway helps support your views on the dewalt tools, as there is no way a trustworthy group would stand behind a brand that is not up to standards.
With that being said, I would have rather be dewalt who would’ve provided the tools in the giveaway that way they show gratitude towards their loyal costumers and in the process gain some new ones.
Nonetheless, if you personally paying for the tools gives you joy than more power to you. It’s difficult in this day and age to find people that feel that way.
When it comes to the tools, the flexvolt circular saw would be a great tool to have and it is one I’ve been wanting since I found out dewalt was coming out with a full size circular saw.
Rob Connolly
Table saw or miter saw. I would have to check out both more closely to see which could make me money and help at home.
Daniel Ryan
I would love the table saw
Caryn M
“Why I Really Really Want That Sliding Miter Saw”
1. I’m a girl, and that wonderful saw looks easy to take where the work is.
2. I love building things.
3. I hate hauling boards up the stairs, test fitting them, and then carrying them all the way back down the stairs and outside to the garage for adjustments.
4. I’m new to building things. Everything I know, I learned from my husband. Including the phrase “sea hair,” which I just assumed was originally a nautical navigation term. Until I learned — in a most embarrassing way — that it wasn’t.
5. Yes. Really.
6. It would be SO very cool if *I* owned the coolest tool in the house! COME TO ME SLIDING MITER SAW!!! PLEASE BE MINE!!!
Great giveaway, great site! Thanks and oooh I hope I win!!!
Tom Magill
I’ve been watching the FlexVolt stuff with interest. I own and love my 18 v set, so if I won, I’d upgarde to the 20v veriosn:
DEWALT DCK590L2 20-Volt MAX Li-Ion 3.0 Ah 5-Tool Combo Kit
Tim Kacmar
Count me in with the others who would pick the miter saw. Hobbyist furniture maker here and it would be a big upgrade for me.
MikeyB
Would love to try out the Dewalt 12″ slider. I have a Bosch 10″ slider which I love. But the new Flexvolt 12″ slider sounds like a beast.
Very nice of you to do this Stuart. Happy New Tool Year everyone!
Kyle Probst
would love to have the impact driver hammer drill combo kit. i have a lot of work to do on my house next year and they would come in super handy. but i am in canada.
Ryan b
If I won I would get the table saw. It is the last woodworking tool to finish out my set of other 60v tools.
Jason S
Happy new year to all.
Time for a new miter saw.
Corded or cordless what a time to be a contractor.
Chris Mcfarland
If I had to choose one tool than it would be the miter saw. This would not be for me but for my hard working father who has taught me everything I know and pushed me to build my craftsmanship and passion for creation. Without him I don’t know if would be the the man I am today. I’ve grown up using his tools and slowly acquiring tools for myself as the years have passed. At this point it seems that I have everything I need at this moment. On the other hand my dad has a very unsafe miter saw and I believe he desirves much more than that. I would give him the world if I could and I would love to see him win. Thanks for the giveaway and god bless.
Jared k
I would want the table saw. I’m a carpenter who took 8th place in the nation competing in the skills USA carpentry competition in 2016. In starting my own construction business and all my power tools are Dewalt because there is no other way to go.
R, Hughey
The miter saw for my wife! She is working on our house. Trimming and framing windows and doors! Thanks!
Nelson M.
I would choose the DEWALT DHS790AB FLEXVOLT 120V MAX Double Bevel Compound Sliding Miter Saw with Adapter Only . This would be invaluable for building my deck.
Ben Y
Whew. Just made the giveaway!!
John Blair
9 Minutes Left here. (Crossing Fingers)
Andy
Miter saw for my home project.
Matt manger
The Flex volt sliding miter saw is a dream! I’m currently finishing up an apprenticeship and going to start my contracting business in charlotte NC. I love what I do and LOVE tools. I get all big eyed when I see the flex volt line just can’t afford it since I’m just starting out.. love your page! Keep up the good work!
Derrald
I like the 60v kit with table saw etc i’m a floor layer so i would be useing it for work!
Darren Kizziah
I would chose the Dewalt Flex Volt Miter Saw for my Handyman business. I already own a Dewalt miter saw and table. Its not the sliding type nor is it battery operated. I sometimes have to work in houses with no electricity which the battery pack would come in handy for. Also right now to cut a 12 inch board I have to cut one side than flip it to cut the other side. I am a huge Dewalt fan I have the 20 volt litium drill set and the Flex Volt circular saw as well as the Sawsall. I built 330ft of wood fencing with one 20 volt lithium battery on my drill. Since then, I have bought everything Dewalt. Even the Roll around tool chest for my shop.
Phil
I think the work light would be amazing; I would use it for when I need to work outdoors in winter and it would make an awesome camping light. If that isn’t available, I would go with the reciprocating saw. It is one of those tools that I have always hesitated to buy because I don’t use it every day but when I do need one it is a pain trying to jerry-rig something else or borrowing one from a friend.
Joe
One word…..jobs…the more tools my small company has the more people I can hire to run them….I’d love to be all cordless as most jobs have no power…and Flexvolt has that power but is very expensive….the 12″ fixed would be a godsend
John fal
One thing I can say is it would be nice not to have to drag a cord around when working outside. I think I’m really liking that table saw, needing a new one badly. It would be used
to build home and church style speakers. Always wanted to build pro quality speakers.
If I won? my fist set of speakers would be donated to a good church in need. Sometimes it’s good to pass it forward. Thanks for offering such a great giveaway. 🙂
Edward Frattarelli
Sliding compound miter saw, or the table saw, or…..
Shawn Brubacher
Sliding miter saw!
bob urz
My backyard new shed project has the miter saw written all over it to make it happen!
Ron Wilson
Miter saw! I have a total house rehab starting soon and it would be so handy. My girlfriend is actually the woodworker in this relationship. She would love it.
Lucas Wisniakowski
12″ Sliding Compound Miter Saw, – 37 years old.
**Nobody (almost) does their own work in my neighborhood just two blocks from Manhattan Beach CA. Learned that when I put up new fence. People were delighted to see a resident working on their own home**
-Purchased old 1960s home in coastal Southern California
-Property values UP but my pay = same
-Need to cut wood straight to build Pergola over a barely working hot tub to have private outdoor nude bathing (not too weird??)
MichaelHammer
I am most interested in the kit with the table saw. I find the idea of a cordless table saw intriguing. Typically a table saw has a longer run time per use that doesn’t translate well into the cordless platform. I would use it at work. Seems just the thing on those punchlist days.
John Fal
Pick me, pick me lol. Well all I can say is that these are all some very nice gifts to be purchased for some blessed lucky someone. I would have to say it would be hard to choose, because the choices are pretty darn good. I’m still leaning towards the sliding miter saw because after reading about it and watching YouTube videos on it, I see one wicked mean machine. Of course that table saw sure looks nice too. I can’t wait to win one. LOL
🙂 PS: Toolguyd Rocks!
Iron-Iceberg
Did anyone win this contest?
