5 More HOT Dewalt, Milwaukee, Makita Cordless Power Tool Deals! (11/27/19)

Nov 27, 2019 Stuart 30 Comments

If you buy something through our links, ToolGuyd might earn an affiliate commission.

I’m going to cut to the chase – tool retailers are simply going nuts trying to earn as much of your business as possible before Black Friday 2019, which is in two days.

Online retailers know that you’ll be hitting up some retail stores, and that you’ll be buying some tools on the spot. So… they’re going to extreme measures to entice you to open your wallet a few days early.

That’s the only explanation I could think of at least, to explain these crazy BUY IT NOW!! prices.

Dewalt DCS371P1 Cordless Band Saw Kit

This Dewalt DCS371P1 20V Max cordless band saw kit is on sale at Acme Tools for $179. Amazon has it for nearly $250. Oh, and it’s ALSO eligible for Acme’s current $25 off $100+ promo, which drops the price down to $154.

$154 for a cordless band saw kit with 5.0Ah battery, charger, and tool bag? Last year, $199 was a good deal. $179 is better, $154 is almost unheard of. Home Depot has their $199 deal again, and this same kit SKU is $349.

As a reminder, this is Dewalt’s compact band saw, with 2-1/2″ cutting capacity.

Price: $154 after 25DEWALT coupon

Update: This deal looks to have expired.

Here’s the next-best option: Other Dewalt band saw bundle via Acme Tools.

Milwaukee M12 Cordless Screwdriver Kit 2401-22

I bought one of these Milwaukee M12 cordless screwdriver deals last year. Actually, it’s still in its box since I have a Bosch screwdriver sample I’ve been using. Once that Bosch sample is given away, this will be my personal cordless screwdriver for things like drawer pull attachment and fastening brackets to wood drawer boxes.

Do you need a cordless screwdriver? That’s for you to decide.

But if you do, $59 for a full kit is a hard price to beat. It comes with the screwdriver, (2) M12 batteries, a charger, and carrying bag.

Price: $59

Dewalt 20V Max Brushless Air Blower DCBL720P1

Dewalt’s DCBL720P1 20V Max brushless leaf blower is on sale for $109 at Acme.

Yes, I heard they’re coming out with a new more powerful one. But you know what? I like this one. I’ve got a review sample that I’ve been using for a couple of years now. It’s powerful enough to move dry leaves, but not wet clumps, and I use it for cleaning leaves, dust, and debris from the garage floor.

This is a fantastic compact blower at a great price. Amazon has it for $179 right now. I ordered one as a gift last year – August 2018 – fr $180.

$109? YES!, that’s a good deal.

I guess this is their Black Friday deal? Either way, it seems to be a very good price. Will the price down a little more tomorrow or Friday? You *might* want to wait on this, or buy, watch the price, and request an adjustment or cancel and rebuy if the promo price changes. Acme does have a low price guarantee.

Price: $109, additional coupons won’t work

Makita XDT131 18V Brushless Impact Driver Kit

Makita’s XDT131  18V brushless impact driver kit is a Black Friday and Holiday special at a lot of retailers for $99.

So why is it $7 to $10 less expensive on Amazon right now? It’s $90 via CPO on Amazon, $93 from Amazon directly.

Again, I’m not going to try to understand or explain things. All I know is that here’s a decent Makita value-priced brushless impact driver kit with 3.0Ah battery and standard charger at better-than-Black-Friday pricing. Sweet.

Price: $90-93

Buy Now via Amazon

Makita XFD131 Brushless Drill Driver KitWait, and Makita’s 18V brushless drill kit with 3.0Ah battery is $80 right now??!

This is the same deal that’s a $99 holiday season special at Home Depot? The same one that’s advertised in Home Depot’s Black Friday 2019 sales flyer for $99?

Why is it $80?? This can’t be right. Right?

Again, I give up. I’m going to give this a *thumbs up* and *sweeeet* and move on.

Price: $80

Dewalt ToughSystem Wall Rack

Tim dropped me a email today (thank you!) saying that the Dewalt ToughSystem tool box rack has dropped in price.

This was a good deal last month at ~$66.

Now, it’s $67.90, but eligible for $25 off $100 Dewalt promo.

Update: Argh, I’m sorry, this deal looks to be dead right now. Maybe it’ll come back in stock later?

That blower is a good dealer however I did better last year. I bought a blower / hedge trimmer combo for $179 and sold the trimmer on ebay netting $100 making the blower/battery/charger ~$79.

So you spent a lot more last year and bought a bundle that came with a tool you didn’t want, and had to go through the hassle of selling and shipping it. Sorry, that’s not a better deal.

He thinks he got a better deal, you may not agree. Some folks think 10% makes something new worth buying, others won’t budge their wallet unless it’s a 50% plus discount.

You may think selling stuff is a hassle, but for others it’s a non-issue because they’ve got it down. I have 15-25 ads on CL or FB marketplace on a constant basis between tools, photo and asst motorcycle stuff. I don’t care for eBay, it’s a hassle to me, but selling local is simple and fast.

These combo deals are a great way to get into some of the tools you’d be hard pressed to buy separately for any great need, but to get them for 1/4 or 1/3 the cost after selling off a few tools makes having them easier to justify.

This is what I hear too often these days:

“$99? That’s not a good deal. 2 years ago I bought the $499 bundle, exploited a return policy, sold everything I didn’t want or need on ebay, and my total out of pocket cost was $75.”

Sure, you can resell tools for a “better deal”, but if the out of pocket expense is much higher, then it’s not a better deal since the public can’t easily replicate the same conditions.

I did the same thing a few years ago when DeWalt had a decent tool kit for black Friday that came with free bare tools. Ended up selling off all but 3 of the tools. When the dust settled, I was into their newer 20V circ saw, grinder and brushless compact sawzall for $100. I feel it was a good deal, and it wasn’t hard at all to sell the tools on FB marketplace/craigslist. Took about a week to unload them all. The worst part were the angry messages I got from people that didn’t like that I bought a kit and was parting it out. Apparently that upsets some people for some unknown reason…

That M12 screwdriver was our installer’s favorite. You seldom (if ever) need lots of torque with cabinet hardware – usually just the opposite. Some said it was the “only power tool to use with brass screws.”

I love that driver, was upset I didnt buy an extra kit or two last year, thing even has plenty of power for when you gotta drill a hole or run a lag in, wouldnt try it constantly for that, but nice to not need to swap tools

So what’s the advantage to the screwdriver versus a drill or impact driver or surge? I have a Festool CxS or whatever it is, seems to torque out before stripping.

Shorter than a drill with bit holder, faster bit changes, same or similar adjustable clutch as a drill.

      Here’s what Milwaukee claims:

“Optimized for the professional who frequently encounters precision fastening applications, the Milwaukee® M12™ ¼” Hex Screwdriver delivers unmatched precision, power and portability along with a slimmer, more ergonomic grip. A variable speed trigger and 0-500RPM give the user unrivaled fastening control, 15+1 clutch settings prevent over tightening fasteners, and 175 in-lbs. of torque provides the ability to accomplish tough applications. At 6-1/2 in. long and weighing only 2.0lbs; its compact, lightweight and durable design provides greater comfort and fits in tighter spaces on the jobsite. The onboard LED light and fuel gauge help you increase productivity and avoid interruptions. Two belt-clip positions for both left- and right-handed users and one-handed bit changes provide maximum ease-of-use. ”

I have no reason to either affirm or refute these claims – but our guys really liked the tool for its intended purpose

Over an impact: way quieter. I mostly have hex chuck drill bits so this is quicker and easier than a drill (as long as I’m not doing real drilling work where the speed matters)
Also it’s easier to maintain low speed control.
I wouldn’t want to only own a screwdriver, but for lots of tasks it is a better fit than a drill or impact.

I was going to ask the same thing, but it occurred to me that there are lots of jobs which don’t require you to drill holes, but just to drive screws, like installation or assembly work (which I don’t do.) They might really like a small, light, easily controlled tool.

I use it all the time for low voltage work, mainly cameras and alarms, nice to set consistent torque, and not go overtighten like I’ll tend to do by hand, also nice that you can put the 1″ bits into it and it pops them out instead of struggling with them like a stamdard impact gun, that being said, the new installation driver has basically replaced this for me

Depends on his needs, really. I own both, and generally use this compact one more often. Single handed for 2″ pipe and below is a lot better than having to secure whatever you’re cutting, and then have both hands on the saw. Cutting undersized stuff with the larger blades can make binding and flexing the blade easier.

Well I tried placing my order at Acme Tools multiple times last night and the order would not go through. Went to try placing the order today and whattya know, the band saw is up to $249. Hopefully Acme will make it right and honor the price it shows in the screen shot I took when trying to place the order.

Yes, the band saw is now $249, but there’s still a pretty good deal to be had.

Elsewhere on Acme’s site is the same $199 kit that Home Depot is selling, which Stuart mentions above. With Acme’s promo code 25DEWALT, the price comes down to $174.

The kit is essentially the DCS371B (bare tool)
and the DCB205CK (5.0Ah battery, charger, and bag)

The only difference that I see is that this kit has a smaller bag.

Looks like the first deal has ended.

The original link was to: DCS371P1
This new $199 price is for: DCS371BDCB205CK

Diffrence: DCS371P1 is the 1-battery kit, DCS371BDCB205CK is the bare tool plus 5.0Ah battery, charger, tool bag starter kit.

It’s like buying a cheeseburger kid’s meal vs. getting a small cheeseburger, value fries, and small drink. Everything is kinda the same, but just a little different.

I had that DeWalt blower for a while. Then I tried their new 60V max blower. I couldn’t use the 20V anymore after that. Sold the 20V for $90 used and bought the 60V kit. Haven’t touched my Stihl SH86c since buying the 60V either. Really a fan of it.
