Dewalt PowerStack Battery Hero

POWERSTACK™ is DeWALT’s groundbreaking new 20V MAX* compact Li-ion battery, delivering 50% more power than their XR 2.0Ah battery (DCB203)1, while also being 15% lighter and more compact with a 25% smaller footprint.

Compared to the DCB203 battery, the POWERSTACK™ battery has twice the lifespan, with respect to charge cycles.

This battery is going to be a game-changer. And, you can be one of the first people to put POWERSTACK™ to work.

We’ve partnered with DeWalt to give away not only a new 20V MAX* POWERSTACK™ battery, but also a sweet combo of 20V MAX* XR brushless power tools to use it with.

The Prize Package

Dewalt DCD791 Brushless Drill Driver

The DeWALT DCD791 20V MAX* cordless drill is compact and powerful, and pairs nicely with the new POWERSTACK™ battery. It features a brushless motor, 2000 RPM max speed, and a 3-mode LED worklight.

I love using this drill for its power and application speed, but also the way it comfortably fits the size and shape of my hand.

Dewalt DCS565B Brushless Circular Saw

The DeWALT DCS565 20V MAX* brushless circular saw challenges the notion that “bigger is better.” It features a brushless motor, 6-1/2″ blade size, 4950 RPM max speed (no-load), and 0-50° bevel capacity. The saw can cut through 2x construction lumber in a single pass – even at 45°. It comes with a removable dust chute for cleaner cutting.

Plus, you get the POWERSTACK™ battery, a 2.0Ah battery, 20V MAX*/12V MAX* charger, and a couple of DeWALT drill bits to get you started.

The prize package will ship in what can only be described as a modern day treasure chest that will leave you smiling for hours. Yes, I am speaking from personal experience.

Unlike most folks, I’m never chasing the largest batteries out there. I still prefer using my 2.0 Makita’s in my impact driver when I’m just using it for basic work. I’m also on the Dewalt 20v platform and this slim battery could be very handy in a few of the DW tools I use.

I’d love to get into the dewalt tool ecosystem. I really like what I’ve read about their cordless romex stapler and would love to try it out, but I’m invested into another brand and don’t want to switch for just one tool. Getting a start would make the switch much less painful.

You might rethink that cordless Romex stapler after you actually get one. I thought it would be the absolute ticket for an entire basement worth of new wiring, but I sold it off after the job was over. There is no depth setting and the darn thing won’t hold tight a single or 2wire bundle of basic 14 or 12 ga. romex. So unlike when hand stapling where you can run a nice tight clean run, this thing leaves the wires loose enough to look sloppy unless your stapling a set of three 14ga romex or maybe 2 12ga. The stapler is also ridiculously heavy and large – much more so than you’d think looking at pictures.

A bit of a fail imo unless maybe if you are a commercial electrician running miles of romex bundles. Not so great for residential work imo.

This would fill out my existing Dewalt 20v kit nicely. I have the hammer drill (796) but it’s rather heavy so a smaller drill would be great. A circular saw is on my wishlist too. And Powerstack would be perfect; I don’t have any 21700 batteries and my most used pack is the 2Ah because it’s small but the Powerstack is even smaller. Thanks, Stuart and the ToolGuyd team!

Winning this package would level up my woodworking game. The drill’s higher RPMs on the 20v platform (compared to the cheap 12v I have) would help with drilling tasks such as pinning mortises/finger joints, and drilling dowels. A cordless circ saw would make breaking down plywood a lot less hassle.

There are a few reasons I’d love to have this:
    – I have teal tools and don’t have a circ saw yet because i already have a corded saw. Cordless would get way more play
    – Yellow tools are easier to borrow (or find at the pawn shop…)
    – Who doesn’t love having yet another battery ecosystem? Seriously- hard to justify buying into, but sometimes theres a yellow tool I want that would only make sense to buy if I already owned batteries/charger

This would ultimately turn into a gift for my father who has always been in the DeWalt ecosystem, but got left behind when they moved from 18V to 20V. The old man’s 18V drill could use replacing, it’s had a hard life… And I’m sure he’d appreciate being able to bring a cordless circular around, not that he’s a very avid wood worker. I’d like to win this because that PowerStack battery is the form factor I desire! it’s the reason I started with DeWalt’s 12v lineup, and only branched into the 20v when I needed some tools that aren’t made in 12. So, this battery would make my 20v tools even more portable and maneuverable. (Also, it would fit that new cute tiny stubby impact driver so well!)

While the smaller batteries tend to get used up quickly on most of my 20V Max tools, the multi-tool has the dual advantage of running the longest on the smaller batteries while also benefitting the most from a lighter battery weight since I’m often using it to make cuts while holding the tool at odd angles or in awkward/cramped spaces. I think I may have just convinced myself that I need to get a POWERSTACK™ whether I win it or not. 😉

I just bought the DCF850B Impact driver and would really enjoy having the PowerStack battery to accompany it. As an electrician I can end up in a lot of tight spaces and having compact, light, and powerful tools certainly helps! The PowerStack battery would aid me greatly in it. DeWalt has been my go to brand and I even got two other guys in my company to switch over from Milwaukee and Makita with help by the Black Friday sales this year. If the PowerStack proves to be true to specs I will certainly recommend it to anyone I know who has DeWalt and get the higher ah batteries once they come out.

He loves to work on cars. Wrenching since the ago of 5 with his dad. He is passionate about his love for wrenching. He currently has no tools at all.. he had the best tool boxes with every tool possible he reminces. We can’t afford tools, and he is having a hard time getting work because lack of tools.. I not working and struggling to makes ends meat. If I won I would surprise my fiance with the tools. For once I’m not entering a giveaway. After all these years, I’m set with drills and circ.

I will say that I have this exact saw, and it is a honey. Powerful, big enough to handle anything with 2x lumber, but lighter and smaller than 7 1/4″ saws. Blades are readily available. But people should be aware that it’s a blade-left, which means right-handers can see the cut line more easily and usually the weight is not on the waste, but it will throw sawdust at you without dust collection.

Smaller and more power would be a game changer for the smaller tools. My smallest battery is an old 3AH which just so happens to be the same size as a new 4AH and 5AH.

One perplexing thing I did notice when I weighed my batteries was that my 5AH was lighter than either of my 2 4AH batteries. Same capcity cells and more AH should mean a heavier battery, because to my knowledge only the 6 AH and up uses the newer 21700 cells as well as the compact 4AH.

Hopefully the new Powerstack batteries will lead to the end of the sub 2AH batteries without the gauges.

I would like the Powerstack battery for the hand held tools that is nice to use with a lighter battery but dose better when used with a bigger Battery (the 20v trim Router as an example)
I use Dewalt tools every day at work and I use them for Volunteer work. Having less wight is always a nice thing when using them all day!

My old 18V tools are nearing the end of there service life. Three young kids makes it tough to upgrade anything. Would love to stay in the dewalt family! Can’t imagine the battery improvement!

In my opinion, Dewalt makes the best power tools on the Market. I have always been a huge fan of the Dewalt products and it is always my go to standard. The new Powerstack is supposed to have 50% more power with a smaller footprint. I can’t wait to try it out. Hopefully Christmas will come early and I will win this giveaway and I can tell all my family and friends that I finally won something awesome! 🙂

My place is 46 years old and needs some TLC.

I’m involuntarily “retired” so I have free time, but a limited budget.

Getting these tools would allow me to do some DIY around the house, without breaking the bank.

My old Craftsman C3 tools and batteries have been dying and this would be a fantastic start to building a new cordless tool set.

I would love to try these batteries, as I have used the old style of 20v for quite awhile, it would be cool to compare both

I would love to get some newer lighter batteries as holding my drill over my head with a 4ah battery gets tiring. Would love to see what the newer, lighter ones can do.

I have the original 20v circular saw and would love an upgrade, it’s well past it’s expiration date. 🙂 I use the 1/2″ Dewalt impact daily. I am curious how the power stack battery holds up in the real world.
