Shown here is the Dewalt medium-sized ToughCase storage container, a quite versatile organizer for power tool accessories.
I bought one quite a few years ago, and use it to hold an assortment of bits, blades, and accessories. Mine holds a small (1/2″ max) step bit, a deburring/countersinking bit, a bit holder, a couple of screwdriver bits, and different sizes and styles of jig saw blades.

There are other organizers out there, and other ways to haul your power tool accessories around.
To be fair, the Dewalt ToughCase is not the most ergonomic or user friendly. The slides sometimes need finagling. Mine could use more dividers.
I rarely use mine anymore, but that’s partly because most of my more recent power tool accessory purchases came with their own pouches or bit boxes, and mostly because I have a greater variety and quantity of accessories than it can hold. It’s still handy for carrying around a varied selection of bits, blades, and accessories when I need a bunch of random bits and blades in one place.
If I remember correctly, I used my first one for a couple of years before outgrowing it. I bought a second in 2012 from Amazon when I needed a filler to push an order over $100 to get a $25 discount.
Dewalt’s ToughCase is sturdy, it offers some compartment customizations thanks to the removable dividers, and it’s somewhat inexpensive.
I can’t say the design is perfect, or that the Dewalt ToughCase will be the perfect power tool accessory storage box for your needs. But, maybe you’ll find it useful. I don’t regret buying mine, even though they’re no longer suitable solutions for my particular day to day storage needs.

I liked my ToughCase a lot more for jig saw blades and specialty drills and bits than for things like nut drivers, screwdriver bits, power bits, or drill bits, at least for me.
Let me put it this way – I won’t scream out “you should DEFINITELY buy this,” but I also wouldn’t post about it if I couldn’t give a *thumbsup* or if I had any regrets. The tough part is that it’s a great solution for some storage needs, but not for others, making for awkward discussion.
To sum things up, I liked mine but don’t use it much anymore, but maybe it’ll be more perfectly suited for your current needs.

Here you get the black version of this with red dividers

These cases are good quality, some come with recip. blades in US.
Flotsam
Big difference in cost $17 for PC vs $6 for the DeWalt
I bought the DeWalt one a while ago for my jigsaw blades. Very nice & cost wasn’t too bad either.

Yes, because it comes with accessories not just case. I would buy one for the case just but Porter Cable does not sell in UK.
dave
got one for jig saw blades and small items. Anyone have a great solution for drill bits, not bought in sets but individually and in odd sizes. Right now I have a storage tote full of new bits in blister packs and sleeves but need a way to organize them.

In the tool room of our shop – we used various Huot cabinets for loose twist drill bits and other tooling.

Fantastic! Huot makes index cases for imperial, metric, wire gauge sizes, letter sizes, stub length, jobber length, aircraft length, etc. I’ve been annoyed to get a fractional size case that steps in 1/32″s, and found nowhere to put my 5/64ths bits. But they make a nice little case that steps in 1/64ths.

I guess the other option is to buy a drill bit set that comes with a nice case, and then refill it from the singles. Here’s a few (I bet they are available elsewhere, but I just like Lee Valley):

My only complaint with these is it made it super easy for someone to run off with over $50 in various bits.
I promptly replaced it and the contents with another one of these. It well fits in a L-Boxx with my Bosch Drill, Impact Driver, Charger and a Bosch drill bit case.

I bought one of these more than 10 years ago. It’s been in my tool bag and has been everywhere with me – literally 10’s of thousands of miles. I’m amazed at the durability of it.
It completely sold me on DeWalt cases.

Same here, bought one about 6 years ago to keep all my random screwdriver bits in one place in my tool bag. It’s fallen off the tailgate or out of the bag I don’t know how many times. For the few $ I spent on it, it’s held up and done what I purchased it for. Have bought a few more for organizing small stuff since then.

I use this exact organizer in a non-tool-related fashion, to store board game cardboard markers/tokens. I usually use the various sizes of clear Husky parts organizers, but this has filled a place near the small and medium size organizers, where I need different or more bin divisions than they provide. This one works great for games that have 10+ types of small/medium tokens and keeping them apart makes set up and playing time easier.
I’ve thought about using them for bits, but like you, I have so many bit cases anymore (and a few too many of those clear lid Bosch cases I really like because they’re good order filler everywhere), no real need. And I bought things like sawzall blades and jigsaw blades and similar in nice cases back in the day purposely so I would have dedicated good cases for those things. But I can see this being useful mainly for like jigsaw blades or if you used individual dremel bits or similar that didn’t have a case.
The What?
These have been around for a long time. I probably got 6 or 7 of em. They’re pretty much the only useful bit box that Dewalt or anyone else makes cuz it doesn’t have all of that plastic rubber crap taking up the space inside of it just so you can waste time by putting each bit back into its individual slot. I can’t stand folks that do that sht on the job. Even though they’re a little bit bigger than the other cases they still kind of suck cuz of the way they are made. If they were to have a double sided bottom in the middle and a lid on each side and got rid of the cheap crappy clear flimsy lids, which I always remove, then it would be a much better product.

I’ve bought 12 of these over the last four years or so. I’ve given a couple away as gifts but I find them super handy.
I store jigsaw blades, stray drill bits, screwdriver bit, boot lace ferrules, lugs, screws etc.
What I really really love about them is the ability to completely close each side so nothing moves around to other compartments. Ok maybe the tiny 0.8mm boot laces but for the most part they are extremely handy.

I haven’t seen anything better for holding a collection of jigsaw blades. But I wish someone would make something specifically for holding them, as the standard length blades are usually shorter than the full length of the case.

I bought a Milwaukee blade set that came in a sturdy plastic box with a lid. It takes those long pruning blades.

I have two of these cases for the recip and jigsaw blades, 7-8 years old. Only 6″ reciprocating saw blades fit inside, otherwise ok.
300mm tough boxes are available from Bosch.

Would be nice to have longer version of this for longer recip. blades.

HI All… I’m a 45 year Fabricator…
Bought my first one in about 2007 for housing Tig Torch parts.
It’s been dropped and kicked and is still untouched and unbroken.
LOVE these cases and now own MORE…
Thanks for the post Mike N.
