      I use a lot of differnt Dewalt Cordless tools and I have many id like to buy.

    • If I were starting out/over in cordless, I would go (have gone?) for the HD 6 + 1 kit Stuart highlighted.

      I wish I would have bought, and have recommended and been quite impressed with the 192 mechanic set. It’s high quality, from Taiwan, has no junk filler, no giant 1/4 and tiny 1/2, no 12 point, 1/4″ bits, etc. It goes up to 24mm in 1/2 drive.

      I think a slightly higher priced set could lop off some high and low overlap and include no skips.

      I wish there was a master set like this that came in a really space efficient box.

      I would buy that box.

      I don’t need or want it to be part of a modular system. I just want a super slim, trim box that has all the extra space engineered out and is reasonably durable.

      Not blow molded, (maybe injection molded?), and with real metal hinges like this kit already has. Something that takes up minimal room in a vehicle, and has magnets behind the slots so the bits stay secured even when opened.

      Maybe the sockets are stored vertically like the Ares/Olsa/etc. sets, but much closer together. There are some YouTube videos of people who have 3d modeled and printed along these lines, but only for a tool drawer.

      I like that it doesn’t have wrenches, they can go in a cloth roll, as can some breaker bars, pry bar, etc.

  3. My next DeWALT purchase will probably be the 12v 5-in-1 Drill/Driver Kit. I have been eyeing it for odd jobs around the house. My wife likes to try various plant hanging hardwares, and the offset driver will make it much easier to to reach some of the fasteners!

    • That’s an excellent driver and my most used tool. I prefer it over the milwaukee or bosch.

      • What I like most about Dewalt is its yellow and black color combination. The lighting on all of its tools has helped me in the darkest and most desolate moments with its bright light.

    I’m been seriously thinking of the 20v 16g nailer. I’ve resisted going battery because I already have pretty much everything I need in pneumatic, and the battery ones are SOOO much bigger and heavier. But lately it seems almost every time I need one, it isn’t a big enough job to make it worth hauling a compressor.

    • If it existed, my next DeWalt tool would be an electric wheelbarrow. I would benefit from having this type of tool because it would allow me to transport heavy loads more efficiently and with less physical strain. Wheelbarrows allow me to navigate tight spaces, but often times it’s through uneven terrain and/or inclines. So this would improve productivity on job sites.

  69. I love my 12″ corded Dewalt miter saw, but it’s old and the motor bearings are starting to sound shrill, and occasionally the motor doesn’t start at all. Maybe I’m delusional, but I’d love a 12″ sliding miter saw that runs on 18V batteries.

  90. As far as cordless power tools I wish existed I would buy a heat gun more comparable to a corded version. I know it would be a battery drainer but I’d be willing to drop some money on 12ah batteries if the tool existed. The current Dewalt tool is only barely adequate and multiple YouTube reviewers have rated it as the best cordless heat gun available. There’s room for improvement.

    I hope Dewalt is reading these comments because what I REALLY want from them is a heated hoodie in X-Large *Tall* size. Nobody is making tall sizes in heated clothing. It’s a real miss for us guys with height!

    • The 20v chainsaw is super for what it is. Especially if you pair it with a flexvolt battery.

  110. Honestly, I was eying the dcf850 or the hydraulic 870. The 870 appeals to me because I live in a house with 5 roommates and when I’m tinkering in the garage the grumpy old guy who has the master bedroom above the garage always gets mad at me when I’m using my impact driver. Plus I like the aesthetic of the 870 with it being predominantly black.

    I was using the dcf850 but the quick release bit holder had a snap ring break and I just can’t seem to be able to fix it with the repair kit. So I’m stuck using the dcf787 that gets super hot when using it for anything besides short bursts or screw drilling (ie: using it with a wire wheel or for multiple regular hole drilling)

My quick release chuck just broke on mine and left me a little stranded, so I need to fix it, but I also need a backup incase it happens again in the future. I currently have the 18v Dewalt circular saw that I bought a converter for, so I can run my 20v batteries in it.   204. I’ve been eyeing the DCS438B, the 3″ cut off tool seems like it would be very versatile and with the compact size I could use it on a lot of random materials/projects.

    One tool I hope DeWalt ends up making is a detail sander to compete with the Milwaukee detail sander. As a woodworker I feel like DeWalt has a better selection of woodworking tools, but somehow doesn’t have a detail sander in their arsenal.

  554. My next DeWalt platform purchase will be to add a second 20v Trim Router to my rotation. It just seems like there are plenty of times where I swap a set up out to a new one only to then want to switch back and/or haw nice it would be to have a dedicated chamfer bit in one a then leave the second one exclusively in the plunge mount because of how often I use it to remove waste in large hand cut mortises or dutchman/butterfly keys.

    What I ‘NEED’ is a dust extractor! I am a 95% handtool only workshop and have fine 5” dust extraction for the 3 workshop apprentices (jointer, planer, bandsaw). But I use a track saw and on rare occasion an orbital sander, but the use of track saw, router, sanders, etc are small enough that I’ve not invested in a deliberate extractor. Instead I’ve been getting by with a shop vac fitted with a dust deputy for all my ‘extraction’ needs which are primarily home repair tools, track saw, routers, and occasionally a sander. I guess that since my workshop is primarily devoted to building furniture with handtools only; more electricity is used in my overhead LED light banks than that which passes through tools. But when it comes to maintaining this 128 year old home, I’m over involved in projects that last from a few days to a few weeks inside, on, or under the home. These are accomplished with powertools and the sooner I’m done with those, the sooner I’m back to building furniture, but for some reason I can’t seem to pull the trigger on a dedicated dust extractor. I am leaning towards a Makita though, since my track saw is a Makita. Maybe a monster coupon or sale will pop up during the holiday.

  580. A circular saw, I have an LVP project coming up needs to be done before Christmas and need to rip a lot of length. Just saw on all the Black Friday ads a DW cordless circ, I haven’t checked in for it’s weight, but this might be a nice adder to the DW tool chest!

  596. Next 20v DeWalt purchase will be an oscillating multi tool. Unless my 1/4 impact burns up first. It’s had a hard life and you can smell the brushes burning now.
