Wouldn’t call these BF deals, there just normal Nov-Dec promotions.
I find it strange that some places only have the 3 piece packout on sale and not each individual item. Also on their site they dont have the slim org sale prices. But OPT is always slow to update their site.
I got the OK table saw + 2nd 12.0 for $460 shipped from another site on Thursday. Tipped off GJ and now its sold out on that site. Wish I could get the chainsaw deal with a comparable 20% off…. maybe on a real BF deal.

We’ve been struggling to figure out what to call this season, the period between Halloween and Black Friday.
Retailers are keen to call it pre-Black Friday, early Black Friday, and Black Friday Now. I’m trying different things to see if I can make my mind up.
I’d typically call them “Holiday” deals, but we’re 2 weeks away from Black Friday, and 50 days away from Christmas. So, Holiday Deal doesn’t sound quite right.
Early Black Friday seems to be making sense to me. Plus, I’m hoping it helps me search for previous content in the archives, such as when I search through historical deals to see if a current deal is any good.
I’m open to ideas!

Early BF seems appropriate.
Crossing fingers there are no actual lower cost deals / deeper discounts for for the same items on BF or CM.
Stuart
As far as I can tell, these deals seem to be as good as they’re going to get. Special bundles are almost always excluded from other special discounts.

This is a lesson in Marketing 101. Start by building up anticipation and see what pent-up needs and desires you can tap into. Then start the “rolling sales” to get people buying more and more and earlier and earlier ahead of the normal holiday buying season. With English being such a nice language – you can legitimately say that almost anything is “on sale” – because if it were not “on sale” then you would not be offering it “for sale”. That’s not to say that some of these “deals” are not worth taking advantage of if you have a need – but this endorphin-stimulating shopping spree can get a bit out of hand – especially if you can’t pay off the credit card bills when they arrive. My habit (my wife would say its a part of suffering from OCD) is to keep a tab on my shopping – particularly around Christmas time – and to see how that compares to my checking account balance. I do that via a regularly updated spreadsheet.
But anyway – let’s see what sales emails arrive for Veteran’s Day.

I love this comment, too bad I still fall prey to these tactics….but less so than before because I’m about broke

I think that a lot of people have been making fewer purchases as the holiday season nears. Because of that, I think there are more “stuff you want to buy or need” deals before Black Friday, and after that there are more deals of the “stuff you didn’t know you needed, but is so low priced you can’t resist” nature.
It was maybe a week or two ago when I posted that I’d be on the lookout for a Bosch router. It went on sale from $219 to $189, and today I ordered one along with $14 in screwdriver bits, for $153 (or around there). I don’t recall ever seeing the Bosch router kit sell that low, and I don’t think it’ll be that low during the holidays.
Things have been changing, year to year, and I think that retailers are finally figuring out consumer behaviors and trends.

That Axis jacket deal is great for people that want a heated jacket or vest and don’t have any M12 batteries. A heated vest, 2Ah battery, flashlight, charger, and handwarmer for $120 isn’t bad at all. I did notice the tool only option doesn’t include the M12 USB charger though, just a battery holder.

I may end up getting one of these this year. Our shop is unheated and uninsulated, and last winter was just miserable.

In Australia we pay $199 for the large packout box, I want to live in the USA

When I pull up the specials page on OPT, it’s blank. Just the header but no deals listed.
Frank D
All deals link page blank here as well on ipad. Other links seem to work.
Stuart
That’s weird. I’ll look into it. It works fine on my iPad and laptop. (930pm ET)

The deals link on OPT’s page has been broken for years, dont know why they dont fix it. Only way to see the deals is via the links they email out.
Stuart
Oh, you mean their link, sorry, I thought you meant on my post.
