A reader wrote in with a tip that this Flex 24V Max cordless drill kit (model FX1131-1A) is on sale at Lowe’s for $99.
The Flex FX1131 cordless drill features a brushless motor, 650 in-lbs max torque, 0-500/0-1800 RPM max speed, and comes bundled with a charger, 1x 2.5Ah battery, and tool bag.
Thank you to Brian for the heads-up!

Also Consider

Lowe’s $99 deal seems decent, but I’d pick a different Flex cordless drill kit instead.
The Flex FX1151-2A kit features a brushless motor, 750 in-lbs max torque, and 0-600/0-2200 RPM max speed.
This kit comes with a charger, 2x 2.5Ah batteries, and a tool bag, and it’s on sale for the same price as the Lowe’s deal right now.
Price: $99
The Flex 1131 at Lowe’s is the “compact” model, which is a little shorter and lighter than the 1151.

Both models look to be on sale long-term, with the Lowe’s deal advertised as ending May 1st, 2024.
Lowe’s cleared out much of the first wave of Flex cordless power tools, including the 1151 drill kit, but has continued carrying Flex’s compact tools.
For the same money, as both kits are currently priced at $99, I’d more strongly consider the 1151 if in the market for a Flex-branded cordless drill.
Both look to be good deals, but the 1151 kit gives you more torque, higher speed, and 2x batteries at the same price. The charger appears to be the same for both kits.
Competitive Options
If you’re looking for a competing brushless drill kit at the $99 price point, you might have to wait until May or June for Father’s day deals.
The winter holiday shopping season is well behind us now, and so are all of the $99 cordless drill kit promotions that I have been following.
Dewalt’s 20V Max brushed motor special buy drill kit ($99 at Amazon) is the only other like-priced pro kit promo I know of right now.
Both of the Flex cordless drill deals look to be good bargains for the brand, which – in my opinion – seems to have been very reluctant to follow other brands’ aggressive holiday season promotional tactics.

Speaking of Flex, I think they have some new tools due out soon. The other day I noticed 8″ & 10″ table saws and a 12″ sliding double miter saw listed at Ohio Power tool marked as “pre-sale”. I don’t recall seeing those before.

I asked Flex about the miter saw more than a month ago, never heard back.

Flex has also very recently come out with two new compact impact wrenches. They are good looking units. FX1431-1F is the part number for the 1/2 inch drive kit. And FX1431A-1C for the 3/8 drive kit. The 1/2 drive kit looks balanced out nice with its 3.5 Ah Stacked Lithium battery.

Yeah they are definitely innovative, lighted fences on table saws, mitersaws have several neat tricks.
Unfortunately they do not have enough of a lineup to Make it worth my while.
Follow Miilersconstruction on IG and YouTube yes that is 2 i’s^.
He said the lifetime warranty will continue on through 24′.
Hey @@toolguyd what are you hearing about tough toughbuilt stocks absolutely tanking ,currently $3.65.
The fb group is mad at Lowes for their poor stocking ,finding clearance items that don’t show up as stock.
Also a large price jump on all the TB,seems like signing an exclusive with the blue store is a curse in disguise.
Seems to be a bad market, with a bad partnership while rolling out a new lineup.
Meanwhile fighting against 4 other systems at the same time.
Both Flex (older company slow launching) and TB (new system fast launching) don’t have a great partner.
Despite innovation, good design I am not willing to buy in on either just yet.

Yes, Flex extended their early adopter warranty offer thru 2024. I also observed the recent price jump on ToughBuilt storage products at Lowe’s.
I have been keeping an eye on ToughBuilt Industries and Chervon Holdings (Flex) investor materials and won’t be commenting on either company’s stock performance at this time.

Hey Stuart, any updates on their stock? I’m honestly interested what kind of future Flex has if it’s underperforming in sales. This is the third year in a row they’ve “extended” their warranty.
Stuart
What kind of update are you looking for?
Regarding the Founders Warranty extension, I figure it will either be discontinued at some point, extended indefinitely (less likely), or made permanent.
Its repeated extension doesn’t seem like a big deal.

I hope they aren’t circling the drain but it almost appears so. Keep in mind the current stock price is after a very significant reverse split…not their first reverse split, either. Read an article where they stated they are continuing to severely cut capex and job cuts are on the horizon (plus executive salary cuts)…very “tough” couple of years for them and unless 2024 turns around in a hurry they’ll probably do bankruptcy (it’s possible they could just get delisted and go private and become a much smaller company but they’re already somewhat small with limited market share and reach). It would seem that their reverse splits were for the alarming reason of needing actual operating income but those are sometimes smoke and mirrors designed to make them look better to investors. Their stock did the predictable thing after the split and it looks like shorts increased as well so investor sentiment is pretty poor and they really need that investment $ right now. It’s unfortunate that some minor issues with the ToughStack line seem to have been overamplified on social media and that (combined with what I’d say is very poor marketing and exposure by Lowe’s during a prime selling time of the year, and at the introduction period to boot) perhaps caused lackluster sales of the new line. I suspect they were/are banking on ToughStack to prop them up. The retail increases (per the article) are probably straight from TB pricing, not Lowe’s, as part of their minimize/increase emergency measures. Doesn’t look great for the future, imho.

I have the compact drill and the 1331 compact impact driver, which is also on sale for $99. I just finished a bunch of projects at a new house, hanging TVs, running wires, driving lags and that type of stuff. Both the drill and the driver performed flawlessly, punching way above their weight. I think they are a tremendous bargain at $198 for both, considering their power and how good the batteries are and the lifetime warranty. I bought the set a while ago for $199, with only one charger. The current deal gives you two chargers, so it’s a little better. Some folks have said their regular drills and impacts are on the heavy side, so I opted for the compacts and am thrilled with them. I also grabbed their hammer drill big boy for special tougher tasks. I have not needed it yet. I kept expecting the little impact to crap out on bigger lags and it just kept going.

Are Flex tools selling at all? These prices are a bit worrying considering how much they cost at launch. This is also the third or fourth consecutive year that they’ve extended the lifetime warranties. At this rate, they should just pull a Ridgid and offer it indefinitely.
