Greenlee 1927A stripping and crimping tool

Something about Greenlee’s combination wire stripping and crimping tool makes it look more like a torture instrument than a multi-functional tool for electricians. Maybe it’s the ergonomic curvature of the handles?

The Greenlee 1927A combo tool features grooved pliers jaws for minor gripping tasks, narrow nose for easier tight quarters access, machined stripping grooves, machine screw cutters, wire looping hole, curved cutter blades, and a series of crimping anvils.

  • strips 10-22 AWG solid and stranded wires
  • crimps 10-22 AWG insulated and non-insulated terminals
  • threaded holes for cutting 4-40, 5-40, 6-32, 8-32, 10-24, and 10-32 machine screws

I pass on any combo tool where the crimpers come before the pivot, there isn’t enough leverage to make good crimpers, or at least, several good crimps before your hands start hurting.

On the other hand, there is a Greenlee 1923 tool in my bag. Strippers, then the pivot, the crimping dies, then a cutter at the tip. Much more useful for my purposes.

Depending how they felt in my hand i would use these, they dont look outrages for a multiple purpose tool.

Got this, and used it for a while. Overall is pretty good. except the screw cutting area, it did a terrible job
