The Hammerhead 12V cordless impact driver and auto hammer (HHS1200) can be used on both screws and nails. Going by the shark silhouette logo, this multi-functional cordless driving tool is made by the same people that built Craftsman’s original and 2nd generation Hammerhead auto hammers.
The Hammerhead Switch features a 1/4″ hex chuck and comes with an auto hammer driving adapter. To switch from impact driving to hammer mode, simply pop in the adapter and toggle a switch at the top of the tool.

First Impression
Honestly, this seems like a neat idea. A 2-in-1 tool like this should be most useful for DIYers and other tool users that could use a right angle impact driver and who might also find use for the auto hammer feature.
The kit seems a little cheap, as you get a lower-than-average-capacity Li-ion battery pack and only one at that. The battery is built-in and non-removable, but the 3-year warranty (after registration) should cover any issues that come up in the first few years of use. After that, it might be possible to send the tool in for a new battery, but possibly not.
Right now, this looks to be a Lowes-exclusive product.

Not a bad idea. Would still be a good tool if only a right angle impact driver but it’s nice to have the hammer function as a bonus.

Seems like a novel tool – but I wouldn’t get my expectations up too much for its hammering ability. We tried some of the earlier hammer-only versions (Ryobi JG001 and Milwaukee 2458-20) – and concluded they were no replacement for handheld pneumatic nail drivers (eg. Bostitch PN100K, Senco PC1195 and Powernail 02-Palm001 that we were using regularly).

I have the Craftsman Hammerhead and while not always the most useful when compared to palm style pneumatic hammers they do have their place. I have often used mine to drive nails back into my deck when they start to work their way up after a long winter. I found they didn’t leave the marks a hammer often would around the nail.

I purchased one last year. Yesterday I put a Black and Decker drill in it to bore holes in a plastic Kayak. Now I can’t make it release the drill bit. It seems to be stuck, so apparently the cheap battery isn’t the only issue with it. Other than that, I’ve been impressed by its power and ability do everything I’ve wanted it to do, including mending a wooden fence after it was broken in a hurricane. But I wasn’t expecting a lot when I purchased it, just a battery-powered screwdriver/nailer for occasional light-duty jobs. Now if I can figure out how to get warranty service . . .

i build store fixtures so i drive thousands of finish screws per week i purchased mine with the bit kit best magnetic holder ever loved it so much i bought a second one for home and 5 years later both of them still work great i prefer using this over my 20 volt dewalt impact driver weight and balance enable incredible speed and believe it or not the battery lasts longer it has no problem with 3 inch grabbers when 1/16 predrill bitis used to save batt power also hammer feature is so sweet with a nail set on finish carpentry no more accidental thumb smashes i fabricated a chizzle for the auto hammer feature and it works so well much easier precision work no slipping
