If you own a Harper hand truck like the ones shown above, and purchased it from Home Depot between Sept. 2008 and March 2009, or Sam’s Club between Jan. 1993 and Jan. 2002, be aware that it may have been recalled.
These hand trucks have been recalled due to a tire overinflation hazard, which can cause the tires to explode and propel broken wheel hub fragments. Four of the models included in the recall (JEDTK1935P, 51TK19, BKTAK19, PGCSK19BLK) have 3-piece 4-bolt metal wheels, and one model (K52K16) has a 1-piece composite wheel.

19 injuries have been reported, including broken bones, loss of sight in one eye, contusions and lacerations.
