Thanks to MI Dad for the reminder!
Amazon has slashed the price of Worx’s new 4V cordless USB-C-rechargeable screwdriver from $40 to $25.
There aren’t many reviews yet, but spec-wise it seems like your average 4V-class cordless screwdriver but with modern features such as a USB C charging port. What also separates this model from others like it is that it has adjustable torque settings.
Price: $24.98

Thanks to Bob for the tip!
Over at Tool Nut, they still have some of these Milwaukee M18 Fuel sander and router kit bundles in stock at the doorbuster pricing. This is a good buy if you need both tools.
Price: $279 w/ free shipping
If you don’t need both tools and only want the router, you can get a 2-battery starter kit with just the router as a bonus for $199 through Home Depot’s “free bonus tool” promo. Correction – you could have gotten the starter set with a router for $199. Home Depot is now reporting that the deal has sold out.
Looking around, other retailers seem to have run out of the starter kits as well.

The Bosch FlexiClick kit is still in stock at Amazon at its special holiday price of $129.
Normally this kit is long sold out by now. I wonder why it is still at Black Friday pricing – maybe this has to do with Milwaukee’s M12 Fuel installation drill/driver kit also being on sale?
This Milwaukee kit is still a special buy right now too – $179 for the full 2-battery kit. The bare tool is regularly $179 and the kit is regularly $229.

Did You Find Any New Deals?
The dearth of tool deals that we’re experiencing right now is very atypical for the first week of December, but I’d bet there are still some more noteworthy tool deals that I’m missing. Some of the ones here and in recent deal posts came from reader tips!
Please let us know if you find any bargains worth sharing!

The KC tool tool of the day today is a 5 piece set of the Cobra pliers for $150. They sold out in an instant but you can still order at that price and they’ll ship out in a couple weeks.

The Festool CXS 2,6-Set is better than both the M12 and the Bosch – but significantly more expensive – and I hardly use it anymore now that I have the surge.
John
Highly questionable. The CXS is underpowered. It may look more refined, may have a tighter chuck tolerance but saying it’s better is nothing more than subjective, because in real use it is not. Owned one for several years and sold it. Haven’t sold any other drill/driver I own except that one, and I have a lot of them, Makita, Hitachi, Milwaukee. I have about a dozen Festool tools and except for both Domino machines which I use, there are plenty of equally capable tools from other manufacturers. Festool’s recent email questionnaire was telling that they are aware that other companies are taking business away from Festool.

I have come to use my Festool Domino XL machine quite a lot. With the help of Seneca Woodworking’s add-ons – I’ve used it with the entire size range of Festool dominos (loose tenons). I was initially skeptical that it was going to be better for me than other approaches I’ve used. I had used biscuits (have a Dewalt machine – but had used Lamello and Porter Cable machines). I had once tried a Freud Duo-Dowel machine (not surprised that it is out of production – it was so imprecise) – but I bought the Festool Domino machine – before Mafell introduced their duo-doweler. I had used various doweling jigs over the years – settling on the Dowelmax. I had made doors with splines to add strength and stability. I had hand cut tenons and chiseled out mortises on chairs. I had cut tenons on at the table saw and mortises at the drill press, I had tried an Old Porter Cable MorTen jig for loose mortises. And now – perhaps having grown lazy – I’m using mostly Dominos.
BTW – once the Festool patents run out – I expect that we will see some others introduce alternatives. Maybe it will not be akin to the plethora of OMT tools that hit the market when Fein’s patent ran out – but I’d be surprised if we don’t see at least 1 HF-type knockoff and perhaps a few others with some innovative features.
Like what you hint at – Festool may be resting on its laurels a bit too much. I have their TS 55 REQ (160mm) track saw bought when it seemed like the best choice to me 6 years ago. Today – it would not even be in the hunt were I looking for a new track saw. Yet – other than price increases – I’m not sure that Festool has done anything to update it.

I’m looking forward to the patent on the Domino ending.
I’m not a marketing guy, but I think they could sell far more units if the price was lower and still make a tidy profit. For $500 I’d consider a Domino, but it’s not even a remote possibility at $1,000. I understand that exclusivity is part of their marketing and appeal, but I’d happily buy a red, yellow or blue version of the Domino.

I can’t wait for that patent to expire. I really want a domino, but there’s absolutely no way I’m paying that much for one.

I love my regular domino, bought used but still expensive. I’d love to have the XL, but not till the patent runs out and a company like Makita or Bosch starts making one. The Makita cordless track saw is better than the Festool corded one. More cutting power. It was an excellent price for the kit during holiday sales a while ago.
Kent
I want a track saw, but I *really* don’t want another style of battery. I’m deep in M12 & M18, and wondering why Milwaukee hasn’t made a cordless track saw yet.
Tom D
The power is weaker – but when I need the weird attachments and grab the CSX I use it for the entire job. The M12’s reverse switch issue gets me swapping back to the surge as fast as I can.
I feel the next M12 will be a clear winner.

How you use a tool and your personal attributes (like hand size), preferences and expectations can impact what you think is best. “The best” of anything is often subjective – and as they say “love is in the eye of the beholder.” I usually reserve using the word love for family members – but I like the Bosch one that I have – with the exception of the big annoyance of the chick-drive head falling off when you change bits. For that defect alone – some would call it the “worst” or say that they hate it. But I don’t dislike or use it enough to look for something better. Meanwhile I read some comparison a while ago that rated the Metabo highly. But the one review (hardly statistically significant) on CPO was rather uncomplimentary.

I use the Milwaukee and love it. I had the CXS Set and the TXS. What sent me over was the offset chuck that Milwaukee has. Probably my most used chuck in the set and the only one Festool doesn’t offer on its CXS or TXS. Never had problems with the power, power isn’t necessary on installs with this, that’s what my drill or impactor is for. I still use my C15 set all the time, but that Milwaukee gun is pretty awesome. I’ve heard lots of complaints about the digital direction switch, I like it. Especially when I let my 4 year old help me.

The Worx screwdriver is interesting, but my Hammerhead 4v is still going strong and I love the bonus electrician functions: current detection, wire bending and cutting. Very nice! I use it a lot.
Aaron
Yeah I got a bunch of hammerheads on clearance when it was discontinued. Kept one and gave some gifts. It’s great for IKEA shelves and even for small pilot holes

S-K is offering 30% off prices today (Sunday 12/6). Many prices have already been reduced and free shipping is potentially available. This is as good a deal as I’ve ever seen on S-K.

FYI there’s an awesome price on a very stout HardLine 5″ knife from Milwaukee just picked one up! 37% off!

FYI, The Bosch kit is showing at Lowes for the same $129 price and the Milwaukee kit is at Home Depot for the same $179 price.
Toolfreak
That’s probably why the kits are staying the same price on Amazon – their algorithm matches the prices on retailer sites.

I bought the Flexiclick thanks to the info here back on Black Friday, it is an awesome drill with the low profile impact driver style chuck.
I tried the regular drill chuck the other day, I really see what the other commenters here meant when they said it is designed poorly. When you loosen a bit it is easy to loosen the chuck right up at the lock portion of the tool.
I’ve been enjoying using it with bit extensions , mostly Montana tools countersink/driver flip bits, but that chuck really left something to be desired.
I had considered getting the M12 install driver but I was turned off by that front handguard style plastic extension in front of the trigger. Thought it might be hard to contort it into some hard to reach spots.
Toolfreak
Yeah, the drill chuck for the flexiclick is really poor compared to the regular PS31 drill. Even the driver isn’t quite as good as the PS21.
The main advantage to the flexiclick is the offset driver and the ultra-stubby driver when used with no attachments. Well, that and as an extra drill/driver when needed to speed up projects.
It’s too bad it’s not better, but for around ~$100 it’s still worth it as a supplement to the other core 12V Max tools.
GML
The right angle adapter combined with the offset driver has been worth the price for me.
