Home Depot has a new Dewalt 6pc clamp set deal for the 2024 Black Friday and holiday shopping season.
This Dewalt clamp set, model DWHT83200D, looks to be a Home Depot exclusive, but you should be able to find plenty of reviews on the individual clamps it comes with.

The special buy Dewalt clamp package comes with 2x 4.5″ clamps, 2x 6″ clamps, and 2x 12″ clamps.

I’ve bought and used the smaller clamps before, but am not familiar with the 12″ clamps. They look like Dewalt’s regular clamps, but with a fixed jaw.
Dewalt’s other 12″ clamps, sold individually and separately, have a reversible fixed head, for use as a spreader. The 6″ clamps are also available with similar reversible heads.
Some of my Dewalt clamps have the removable and reversible fixed clamping jaw, and others do not. I strongly prefer the more premium ones, which are more easily matched with portable work tables that have dog holes, slots, or similar.
What I’m trying to say is that these are not the best clamps that Dewalt offers, and there is a functionality difference that you need to be aware of.
My non-reversible Dewalt clamps work just fine, but I’m glad some of the multi-packs I ordered in the past have the removable head.
These clamps are also lighter-duty than Dewalt’s more premium clamps – the 6″ and 12″ clamps have 100 lbs max clamping force, compared to 300 lbs. I should note that the premium 6″ and 12″ clamps are priced at $23 and $33 each, respectively.

There doesn’t look to be more premium 4.5″ clamps.
That said, I think that $34.97 is a great price for what you get here, just know that these are not the best Dewalt clamps that you can get.
Just don’t expect to be able to slide them through the slots or dog holes in portable workbenches – not even Dewalt’s, which is back at Home Depot for the holidays.
Price: $34.97
Looking for better clamps? Here’s the Dewalt 6″ clamp at Home Depot, and here’s the 12″. The folding workbench is on sale for the holidays, although the lower in-store pricing is not yet available online.
The Dewalt Clamp Set Bundle Deal I’d Buy Instead

While digging around to compare pricing, I found another online-only Dewalt clamp set deal that I’d buy instead.
This set comes with a 4pc bundle (currently $41.65 by itself), and another 2pc bundle at no extra cost.
It comes with 2x premium 12″ clamps with removable and reversible fixed jaw, 2x 6″ clamps, and 2x 4.5″ clamps in the bonus pack.
The 4pc set is the same as the one I’ve purchased before. Basically, this looks to be remnant inventory of the 4pc deal from prior years combined with a free 2pc small clamp bundle to match the sizing of the holiday season special buy.
This deal is nearly $6 more than the other 6pc set that’s in-store and online right now, but gives you 2x premium 12″ clamps. I use them extensively around my workshop and with portable workbenches.
Personally, I’m considering buying a couple of these sets, just for those 12″ clamps. I’ve wanted more of those clamps, but not at the regular price of $33 each.
Price: $41.65
Update: Acme Tools has the 12″ premium clamp for $16.99. That might work out better if you just want multiple of these. Home Depot’s best price is $80 for 4. Acme has the 4pc set with 2x 12″ and 2x 6″ clamps for $50, reinforcing the value of Home Depot’s $41.65 bundle.

The old saying about how you can never have enough clamps is true. In an ideal world with bottomless budgets that would be a wide assortment of premium clamps, but that gets very expensive very fast.
Clamps like these may not be the best but they’re not bad and the price is right. I also think it’s very worthwhile to have a combination of heavier and lighter duty models. Yeah the heavy duty premium models are nicer and have stronger clamping force but they may not fit where you need them. My favorite trigger style clamps are Bessey EHK’s. In the 12″ size I have several each of the M, L, and XL series. Sometimes there’s enough room for the big, strong, XL to fit…other times there’s not, and it’s time to grab the smaller models. I would be looking hard at these if I wasn’t already well set.

Not to mention, at least in woodworking, a lot of people over-clamp projects which just introduces more stress in the final product. If you have to really bear down on a clamp that generally means you should go back and do more work fitting the parts.
I’ve got plenty of big heavy clamps, but I find myself generally grabbing the lighter F-style and quick-clamps the most often.

Bering a plumber at heart I initially thought that you just keep cranking until you can’t turn the handle more. When we acquired a woodworking/cabinet shop I learned that wood species and grain orientation or cut (e.g. flat sawn, quarter sawn or rift sawn) mattered more for selecting the correct amount of clamping pressure. Not enough pressure is no good – but too much and starving the joint of glue is just as bad. Using cauls to spread out the clamping force is also good practice on many glue-ups. For edge joinery – I like to create spring-joints rather than joint all my pieces dead flat.

Fred, your first sentence reminds me of some early lessons from my dad, who would say, “if two turns of the wrench is good and tight, four turns is not twice as good”.
MM
Absolutely, maximum clamping pressure is not always desired. Larger clamps can sometimes be good for this because they tend to have larger pads, spreading out the force over a larger area than a smaller clamp would. But multiple clamps can be even better. They divide the force among multiple clamps, and also give you more control over where the pressure is being applied. Even when you are using cauls more clamps allows for more control.

I love Bessey.
I bought a couple of these – https://www.amazon.com/BESSEY-KliKlamp-Ratchet-Action-Lever/dp/B00008K2TD/?tag=toolguyd-20 and they’ve held up very well over the years. I’m eventually going to give away my Jorgensen and get more of the Bessey.
Bessey sent me a couple of their GearKlamps – https://www.amazon.com/BESSEY-GearKlamp-12-In-Ca/dp/B07GLD39YG/?tag=toolguyd-20 – and I recommend those too. They’re not quite trigger clamp replacements, but come in handy due to how the clamping force is applied.

I have racks full of clamps, many Bessey and other brands. Much to my surprise, I have never seen the Bessey Klik Klamp. I am glad you like them as they look like a clamp I would like, and I will definitely get a pair to try.
The Bessey Gearklamp, I bought a pair and was disappointed. The swivel part makes it difficult to clamp items. I still have them, but after 2 uses, I haven’t touched them in over a year.
Maybe some aspect of them works great for others and could be a favorite for some people, but for me, not on my go to list of clamps.
MM
Same, they make some fantastic clamps, both metal and woodworking. I’m hoping Rockler will have the K-body Revo sets on sale again this year like they have the last few years, I’m looking to pick up one more set and then I think I’ll be done buying woodworking clamps for the foreseeable future.
I really like Ehoma/Trusco as well. I suspect they may be the OEM for some other brands. A lot of their line is fairly standard, but these deep-throat F style clamps are one of those things where you wonder why nobody else is making them and why they aren’t more well known:

This seems like a pretty good price on 2 48” and 2 24” Revos with their setup square

That’s an OK price but it’s not great. The last few years Rockler has had Black Friday promos on the sets with 2×50″ + 2x 24″ and either the blocks or the extension units for about $180-ish, with free shipping. It’s become a fairly standard promo they’ve had pretty consistently so far. I’ve noticed it pop up at other seemingly random times as well.
Here’s Stuart’s article about last year’s version of the deal.

Stuart
They have it for $220. Acme has the same set for ~$208 after discount and special handling. Add $22 to your cart to get free shipping.
Amazon has it for $207.
Stuart
@MM, yep – $180 with free shipping is the deal to look for. $200+ tends to be typical.
Supplies always seem to be limited with BF deals, and unfortunately they aren’t guaranteed to appear each year. It’s worth waiting 2 weeks to see.
Andy
Good catch guys, I forgot how much lower the BF prices have been. Thankfully, the (2) 24″ / (2) 50″ and (2) extender kit is now marked down to $195

I truly took that old saying to heart when I was building out my workshop during the latter days of Sears. Their Craftsman trigger clamps were made by Wolfcraft in Slovakia and are the best-quality trigger clamps I’ve come across. Also very economical at the time. I must have at least 2 dozen longer than 12″ and another 2 dozen smaller than 12″ / mini. It’s a shame they are no longer easily available from Sears.
Wolfcraft has made these clamps for more than 20 years I think. They are available in multiple throat depths and clamping strengths. They also have a lot of compatible accessories. Some are available on Amazon US, but more are available from Amazon Germany, UK, and Japan.

I wonder if the made the Masterforce clamps for Menard’s. COO was Slovakia.

For a long time, the KlikKlamps were my favourite, but now, I find myself almost always reaching for the one-handed clamps first. I have probably half a dozen different sizes and versions of Bessey ones, as well as Irwin, DeWalt and more I can’t remember. Bessey are definitely my favourite clamps.
Your favoured DeWalt ones would be my choice of these options. If I get the chance to visit HD before the end of the Holiday season (and I live ~3000 miles from my nearest store), I might try to pick some of these up.

I tried these and wasn’t impressed. First time out and I couldn’t unlock one of the clamps via the release button…it seemed disengaged…like my ex-wife almost lol. I had to take it apart in order to reset the metal bar. So now I already have a case of dislike for them. Next one two days later the tightening trigger snapped a pin off the moulding, rendering that clamp no good. I’ll keep the rest kicking around for one someone calls and says “you’ve got all the clamps in your shop, can I borrow a few?” Nothing like pawning off your garbage on your friends and family!

On a somewhat related note, I see that Lowe’s, Amazon, and a few others online (Ace, Menards, Acme) have the Irwin construction jack on sale for $79 right now. I don’t recall seeing it that low yet but I picked up a pair this morning just in case they disappear from the market.
