Home Depot kicked off yet another round of tool deals of the day this week, featuring tools from Dewalt, Ryobi, Milwaukee, and a couple more brands.
Some of the deals are really good, and others not so much, but I feel it’s definitely worth a quick look.
The first time I loaded the page this morning, there were some definite non-deals. It looks like Home Depot cleaned things up since then, but I’d still advise knowing your prices.

Here are some of the deals that caught my attention:
Dewalt 12″ Non-Sliding Miter Saw plus Folding Stand – $299
Milwaukee M12 Fuel Installation Drill/Driver Kit plus Ratchet – $169
I’m a big fan of the M12 Fuel multi-head drill/driver. This bundle gives you the tool kit at a $30 discount. If you don’t want the ratchet, you can spend $199 to get the same tool kit plus your choice of other bonus items.
Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1/2″ Impact Wrench Kit – $279
This is a bundle, rather than a full kit, featuring 2x High Output 6Ah batteries, a charger, and the Gen2 mid-torque 1/2″ impact wrench. We’ve seen similar pricing before, and it’s a decent deal each time.

This Milwaukee M18 Fuel deal saves you $20 compared to the regular promo right now, where you buy the starter kit for $299 and get the impact wrench, valued at $249, for free.
Fluke 87V Digital Multimeter – $403.30
Fluke apparently now has an 87V Max model, but the 87V remains tried and true staple for serious users.
Husky 270pc Mechanics Tool Set – $129
This is the same set that was priced at $99 for several months for the winter holiday season, which is why the higher $129 “deal” price caught my attention. It might be less for Father’s Day. If not, I’d go for the Craftsman 230pc set from Amazon instead.
Milwaukee 3/8″ Metric Mechanics Tool Set with Packout Case – $90
I think this is a great “grab and go” type tool kit. It’s regularly a $99 promo, and so this deal of the day saves you an extra 10%.
Milwaukee 28pc BiMetal Hole Saw Set – $134
Deals end at 3am ET 5/22/25 unless supplies sell out sooner.
Also be sure to check out Home Depot’s Memorial Day deals, which are apparently part of a 2-week promo period.
Don’t Trust the Numbers

There will be a longer post on this topic, but it’s worth repeating as often as possible: don’t trust advertised numbers.
Home Depot says their Husky 270pc mechanics tool set has an “over $695 value if purchased separately.” Nobody is driving to Home Depot and buying all of those sockets, ratchets, and screwdriver bits separately.
Home Depot says the price “was $199” and that the $129 price means you “save $70 (35%).

The same Husky tool set was $99 for Black Friday and several surrounding months.
$99 is the typical deal price at Home Depot. $129 is… not.
“Save 35%” implies that you’re getting a good deal, but you’re not.
The stores near me have between 20 and 66 in stock, and there are several thousand available online. I seriously doubt that Home Depot intends for the price to be $129 for Father’s Day, and that they’ll sell a lot of inventory at that price. I’d say wait for a better price.

Their ads are more like Home Despot: You save! No, we say you do!
(while their staff at checkout “Do you have a HD card? Would you like to apply?” as I look at the dozen shoppers standing behind me… No, thankyou. Why would I want a store creditcard with 29.99% interest and use to buy a $20 item? Sure if I had the money to finance a new dryer and it had 24months to pay with 0% interest…)
I am parting with my 12″ Hitachi Compound Miter Saw along with a PorterCable mobile miter stand. Because of this HD Dewalt ad… I can’t see selling for more than $200. But its a $472 value!!! LOL..

Retailers have honed their marketing strategies based on consumer spending habits and the cycle might never end.
As for the miter saw, the saw itself is priced at $249, and the folding stand is $126. If you need both, $299 seems like a great bundle price.

Ordered the $199 M12 installation tool / wrench combo with the intent of hacking it, but ended up returning it all and ordering the Amazon Bosch installation / oscillating tool combo instead.
Also looked at that $90 mechanics tool set but the Packout case has no real value for me and at that price point I can get comparable hardware not made in PRC. It’s a real turnoff that Milwaukee makes it so hard to find country of origin.
Stuart
It’s not made in China; Milwaukee mechanics tools are made in Taiwan.
It’s up to retailers as to whether to show COO or not. I asked Home Depot why they don’t when Home Depot Canada does, and they never got back to me.

I talked myself out of the Milwaukee 1/2″ drive metric deep socket set two days ago, but couldn’t restrain myself today when it came back. Don’t think I’ve seen that one in any of the specials over the last year until this year Sunday/Monday whichever it was. Typically only see the 3/8″ drive set, and once in a while a random 1/4″ drive will show up. Tired of squinting to find the size on my existing junkyard socket collection!
Stuart
I noticed the same – the 1/2″ set popped up in the deals of the day selection a couple of times now.
The smaller 19pc SAE set was on sale for last Black Friday, but not the 29pc metric set that’s discounted to $134 today.
Jake
It’s showing me 189, and 299 for the mid torque and two batteries
Stuart
Sorry – the deals ended last night at 3am.
