Ryobi Days Battery and Starter Kit Comob with Free Tool

Over at Home Depot, they have a bunch of “Ryobi Days” cordless power tool promotions happening right now, and this deal strikes me as being an especially good buy.

For just $99, you get a 2-pack of Ryobi 18V 4Ah batteries, plus a starter kit, AND a free tool or accessory gift with purchase.

Last winter, the same battery 2-pack was a $79 special buy for the 2022 Black Friday and holiday shopping season.

Here, for $20 more, you get a charger and a free tool.

There are 23 tools and accessories to choose from, with retail pricing of up to $189.

Ryobi Verse 18V Cordless Speaker PCL615 Attached to Workbench

For a bit more context, Ryobi recently launched their new Verse cordless speaker, which networks together to spread your music across different rooms or larger spaces. The Verse just launched in May, and is $99 for a 2-pack.

With this deal, you get the 2x batteries and charger, and can opt for a free 2-pack of these speakers.

OR, if you’re a Ryobi 18V cordless power tool user with a bench full of tools already, have you been meaning to buy more batteries? That’s one of the freebie options – a 2-pack of the same 4Ah batteries. So that would be 4x batteries plus a charger for $99.

There are 23 free gift products to choose from, including different sanders, saws, a router, cordless outdoor power tools, and more.

Deal Price: $99

Buy it at Home Depot

There’s no indication as to when Home Depot’s “Ryobi Days” will end.

If you can find one, the Ryobi One+ HP Brushless Portable Table Saw with two 4Ah high performance batteries is on clearance in store for $200 (regularly $399, and never on sale for less than $299). Use BrickSeek to check local stores.

I picked one up from my local HD. While not an amazing table saw, it is well worth the price. It has some shortcomings (sliding fence, sloppy miter gauge, etc.) but it is quite powerful and amazingly handy for jobs where there is no power or small jobs at home. You’re not going to want to build cabinets with it but it’s a small portable $200 cordless table saw, that comes with batteries.

I just don’t get cordless table or miter saws, or for that matter any tool that pretty much stays stationary in use or is not hand held. I guess they have some application if I’m am doing construction in a situation with no power, but I can’t see that, and if that were the case I would have a generator.

Never rolled into a job site when every trade is there to work except the electricians I see.

Ive had the ryobi 7-1/4 miter saw for a while. Ive done more with it than its designed for. Theres only been a few times I couldnt pull a cord but its nice and handy. And certainly saves time when moving it around. Irs also nice to just carry outside for a few cuts when I dont want to clean up or protect from dust inside and dont trust leaving tools outside unattended.

I think it opens up more time available to work for some trades – finish carpenters being one. Certainly lighter weight and less hassle than dealing with a generator and cords, plus easier to work indoors out of the rain or frigid temps where that’s feasible. I think the expense may be a washout or close when you take into account the up front costs of cords and maintenance on a generator.

Admittedly I think they can be very silly as well not needed for 90% of people.

But I’m not going to lie, I do need a table saw and for small projects it would be a convenience. Especially on properties like my parents where it’s only 1.5 acres which is a bit far to run a cord. With this my dad could just pop it in his tool wagon take it over to his little project sites. A bit easier for him to lug things around that way using the riding mower.

Again definitely not needed. He has a generator, but for his use case it would save time and be convenient.

They’ve got a second tier running at the same time. Buy the “ONE+ 18V Lithium-Ion HIGH PERFORMANCE Starter Kit with 2.0 Ah Battery, 4.0 Ah Battery, 6.0 Ah Battery, Charger, and Bag” for $199 and choose a free tool from a second set of more expensive tools.

And the HP Airstrike 18 Ga Brad Nailer is one of the available free tools. I got one to upgrade from my older one (which, tbh, worked fine).

I suppose I will put the other on CL, but my local CL has been really dead with regard to the tools I have put on there.

Friends of mine who are more in to the Ryobi ecosystem than I am seem to make it pretty clear that you want those HP batteries if at all possible over the regular ones.

Dang, I’ve been thinking about getting the SDS drill for a while. It’s free with the batteries….

SDS plus 6ah/4ah/2ah HP+ batteries for just $50 more than the drill? I think thats a yes

Can’t argue with their pricing. If I ever wanted a second platform of tools, this would probably be it…

I have a few Ryobi tools and like them a lot. For home use they can’t be beat. Ryobi seems to come out with a new tool on a weekly basis and they don’t cost a fortune. I don’t think they’d survive a fall off a ladder – my milwaukee drill and impact driver feel way more substantial – but you can’t argue with the price/performance.

I think the tools themselves are the equal of any. The weak link is the batteries. I appreciate using the older tools with the lion battery line, but those post style batteries don’t hold up as well. Or maybe they just don’t have as robust construction as say, DeWalt. That fall off the ladder? The tool would likely be fine, but the battery would be toast. Ask how I know.

This deal has been going on for over a week now and they have already sold out of the Bluetooth speakers and the 1″ wide detail belt sander.

I picked up the hedge trimmer. I don’t really need the extra batteries or charger, so I will probably try to return just the batteries. They rung up in the app separately with a discount applied to each individually. I don’t know if I can just return the batteries and still keep just the tool at the lower price, but if I can I will try to remember to update here.

Or if anyone else knows if that can (or cannot) be done, maybe you can let us know too.

1″ belt sander back in stock, I just ordered (it said 54,000 in stock). Not a tool I will use often but given the normal price how do you say no?!

what’s going on with the Ryobi USB lithium platform? Only the air pump is still available in store, and some stuff out of stock online. Ryobi seems to have a lot of trouble sticking with a 3v platform!

The thing that surprised me is that there are two different “tube” battery options. There’s one for the small pistol screwdriver that comes with its own tiny charger and now the USB C charging ones that come with a cable but no charger at all. I can’t imagine the non-USB line will survive

Having your current mower die can be arranged… You just have to know a guy 🙂

Seriously though, that is what I did a few years ago and I have never looked back nor regretted it. I also invested in other Ryobi 40V lawn tools and it has worked well for me. I found them to have the same power as other mid tier 2 stroke engines.

I got the 1/2 belt sander, comes in handy in my boat shop. I have a air one which is much less cumbersome in size but running air hoses into the boat gets annoying.

PSA, those cheaper low end ryobi chargers are handy for jump starting a battery that shows being bad on the smart chargers which wont charge at all if it senses something wrong.

They do a similar deal every year and this year I finally jumped in. I was down to two 2Ah batteries. I opted for my free tool being another two 4Ah batteries. so four batteries for $99 is a pretty good deal!

I doubled up on the 4.0 batteries as mine are beat up and cracking. Upon picking them up, I noticed these were not the lithium+(high performance) version. Not sure how much that matters but I’ve had the lithium+ for years. I hope these perform as well.

I picked up a couple of the 4Ah battery kits and chose the Verse 2-speaker set and Whisper fan as “free” add-ons. I’m pretty certain the .mil discount applied because I walked out the door for $198 including a cold drink.

I wanted to get the HP starter kit but the pet vacuum was sold out and I didn’t need anything else included in that promo.
