Home Depot kicked off a new round of tool deals of the day today, featuring promos, bundles, and savings from Milwaikee, Dewalt, Ryobi, and Ridgid cordless power tool brands.
Today’s deals feature some of the same cordless tools and bundles we’ve seen on sale recently, and also new ones, plus select hand tools, accessories, and more.
Some of today’s deals beat Home Depot’s holiday savings, and so you’ve got to look through the full list carefully.

For example, their 74pc screwdriver bit set was $20 as a holiday special buy, and it’s down an extra dollar today, at $19. While it might not seem like a lot, it’s an extra 5% discount on an already good deal.
Following are some of the deals that caught my attention.

Milwaukee 74pc Impact Screwdriver Bit Set – $18.97
I really like the value of this bit assortment, which comes with selection of 1-inch and 2-inch screwdriver bits, plus some nut driver bits and a sampling of double-ended bits.
The case is Packout-compatible and also customizable.
I bought this set around Father’s Day for $20, and it was the same price when I checked earlier this week.

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Gen3 Compact Impact Wrench w/ Resistant Battery – $209
Milwaukee M18 Fuel Mid-Torque Impact Wrench w/ Resistant Battery – $219
Milwaukee M18 Fuel High Torque Impact Wrench w/ 5Ah Battery – $249
Milwaukee M18 Fuel 3/4″ Impact Wrench w/ Resistant Battery – $314
There are 3 power levels of 1/2″ impact wrench and battery bundles on sale, plus the One-Key 3/4″ impact.
The price on the high torque impact seems great, although I haven’t been tracking it very closely lately. It looks like the tool-only price is $299 right no at authorized dealers.

Milwaukee M12 Fuel Hammer Drill Kit with Cordless Ratchet – $169
If you need a compact brushless hammer drill and a compact cordless ratchet, maybe this deal is the one for you.
Or, if you just need the M12 Fuel hammer drill, there’s a $99 promo kit right now.

Dewalt 20V Max Cordless Impact Wrench Kit with Atomic Ratchet – $349
This deal combines the Dewalt brushless 1/2″ impact wrench kit ($299 right now), and the Atomic series 1/2″ cordless ratchet ($199 right now).
I bought a Dewalt ratchet kit last year, but haven’t seen any other good promos this season yet. If you want an impact and a ratchet with the same drive size, this bundle is worth a quick look.
Note: it only comes with 1 battery. If you need more, see: Best Dewalt Cordless Power Tool Battery Deals for Holiday 2024.

Milwaukee SAE and Metric 1/2″ Mechanics Tool Set with Packout Case – $229
I am a huge fan of Milwaukee’s mechanics tool sets, so much so that I’ve started to put some of my older and long-favored tools into long storage. This set comes in a portable Packout case, but you can take everything out for use in a drawered tool box.
There are a bunch of other deals on Milwaukee socket sets. If you need anything other than a 1/2″ set, stay tuned – we’ll cover all of the holiday season promos in a later post.

Milwaukee 43pc 3/8″ Impact Socket Set – $85.97
This SAE and metric 6pt set is already a great holiday/Black Friday special at $99, and this deal of the day shaves off another $14 on top of that.
It comes with an extension, universal joint, and a 1/4″ hex to square adapter for use with an impact driver.
The SAE sizes go from 5/16″ to 3/4″, and metric from 8mm to 19mm. You get both shallow and deep sockets in every size.
If you’re on the fence, buy it now and mull over whether to return it later. This promo deserves a big red button:

Milwaukee Packout Flood Light and USB Charger with M12 4Ah Battery AND Bonus Battery – $119
This is a 2-in-1 deal. You get the Packout-compatible worklight and USB charger, plus an XC 4Ah battery. AND, the bundle is also eligible for a free M12 2.5Ah battery offer.
So, you get the worklight. an XC 4Ah battery, and a compact High Output 2.5Ah battery, for $119. I think that’s a great price for what you get.
Deals like this assume you already have an M12 or M18/M12 charger to go along with it.

Deals end at 3am EST 11/1/24 unless supplies sell out sooner.

I’ve asked Stuart about this, wanted to see how you feel.
I’ve noticed HD Milwaukee product pages read “with Xah battery” in the product headline, a picture showing the tool and battery, then below that have an “Attachment options” selection that contains “with additional Xah battery”.
If I buy the above, that means tool with battery and an additional battery. If the picture shows a tool with a battery and options stating “with additional battery “. That’s two batteries, right? If it was one battery wouldn’t the option read “with battery”.
Now the selection also has “no additional attachment” and other options. So I can see this is being a multi purpose ad for different options but additional means one already exists. I find this deceptive.

I think it’s Hanlan’s razor that says “never attribute to malice what can be attributed to an overburdened webmaster”

!!!! Good one. And so very kind too.

I guess if you like overpaying.

I just placed an order for a few items recently.
It means that the deal is for a tool only and the battery is in addition as part of the deal, meaning that you’re purchasing the tool only, and the battery is shipped physically separate. You’ll receive it as 2 items.
Even more confusing is their checkout process for a “buy___, get a battery for free”. During checkout, the tool is even further discounted, and the free battery is the sum of the tool-only sale price.
I blame web programming on their part

It’s not advertised on the daily deal page, but I just bought the Milwaukee 56-piece 3/8 ratchet set for $99, which is 48% off. Link here:
https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/go-home-depot/p/305146344%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E
I was originally looking at the 43-piece impact set from the article above, but for just ~$13 more I’m now getting a ratchet, 12 more sockets [though none are impact sockets], some extensions, and a removable tray that’ll fit in the tool chest.
Thanks for the article. I wouldn’t have found that deal without this post!
Stuart
This is a fantastic deal too – more on it and others soon. I bought mine 4 years ago when it was bundled with a Milwaukee screwdriver set, and it’s served me well since then. I also bought the 1/4″ set. I’ve barely touched my Craftsman socket set since then, and have been considering putting it into deep storage.
Still, I should point out that chrome/hand sockets are typically not designed or suited for use with impact tools. You can use impact sockets with hand tools, but the reverse (hand sockets with impact tools) is not recommended.

I like that set a lot. So far I haven’t needed anything bigger.

Stewart, dewalt dcf 961 and their mid torque are on sale at Amazon, would you consider them a deal?
DEWALT 20V MAX Cordless Impact Wrench, 1/2″ Hog Ring, High Torque, Brushless, Bare Tool Only (DCF961B) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CF3ZC3SV
Stuart
Could be, but I tend to avoid buying from 3rd party sellers on Amazon.

Is there a page with an adequate breakdown of each major company’s offerings of impacts/drills? It seems like they all have at least 5 different variations to choose from for each tool. I just want a pair for construction type work that works well and will last

Stewart, would consider (have you already produced?) an article about what “packout compatible” means (maybe with some pics. I’ve bought those bit sets (like the first item in this article) before, and I can’t figure out what Milwaukee means. I mean sure, it fits inside a packout flat case, but it sure wastes (the high $) space. I wish they would clip on the outside. And a side note, some bit sets have a 1/4-20 nutsert on the back, I’ve yet to figure that one out either! I’ve thought about 3d printing an adapter for the standard packout mount, but haven’t found the tome
Stuart
The cases with 1/4-20 insert disappeared a few years ago.
Maybe this image will clear things up:
Or you can toss them into a tool box as you would any either, but shown above is what they mean about Packout compatibility.

Ok, got it. I didn’t think to try “open face”, in the narrow cases. Thanks!!
Dave (not here)
Okay, I’m in for the light – needed a couple more M12 batteries anyway, for what I’d have paid it’s like getting the Packout light and a few more ah than battery-only sales for $10 extra. While at it I pulled the trigger on the Forge 12ah/8ah deal that’s been sitting in the cart – excited to see if I’ll get the extra power/runtime promised on some of my hungrier tools like Quik-lok OPE…
Vee
I can’t find the m12 drill/cordless ratchet kit on the home depot website. When I click the link it takes me to a page that has it listed for 269 instead of 169

The deal of the day ended a few days ago.
