Home Depot Tool Deals of the Day for 1-15-24 Milwaukee Dewalt Ryobi Ridgid Bosch

Home Depot has a selection of tool deals of the day for 1/15/24. Some of the deals are new, but many if not most are repeats or remnants from the recent holiday shopping season.

These deals are all pretty decent, and it looks like stock levels are gradually depleting. Some of the promos already sold out, such as a number of the included Ryobi 18V HP cordless power tool combo kits.

The Bosch miter saw bundle has been tricky – it showed as in-stock and then out of stock a short while later. Sometimes entered zip codes can affect things, but that shouldn’t be happening here as these are online-only deals.

Dang, missed that Bosch 12″ with stand again. That’s a killer deal. I had the saw until it was recently stolen, so scoring a deal on a replacement might at least ease that sting a bit, lol

Yeah, that sucks. It’s got a $1000 price tag on it now at my store. Yikes. Would love to get one for the shop, the DeWalt takes a much larger footprint at the bench.

For those that need larger batteries, the 2x8ah with 2x6ah four pack for $275 is a good deal.

Agreed! It was a good deal at $299 in November but today’s deal is even better.

These are great deals, but I’m still bummed about te 2x 5.0 m18 batteries being sold out with the free tool. I bought the 6 & 8 hr batteries and picked up the compact router, and I can always use the higher duration batteries, the price is higher than I want to spend. The 5.0 batteries are priced right. It doesn’t make sense to buy the inflated for $161, when you can buyte batteries and inflator for $179.

The guy at HD says they have a box of the batteries inbound, but no delivery date.

Okay, I’ve got a weird one for ya. A friend recently turned me on to the Klein 32614 pocket screwdriver. Sadly it’s 3.5mm instead of 4mm standard bits, but if you don’t care about interchangeability with your System4 or ifixit sets, it’s pretty great.

So, I searched for it at Home Depot, and despite me being logged in and having my home store set to one in the Detroit area where I live, it decided to set Evanston, IL as my store (I didn’t notice this yet), and showed me results including a “show price in cart” listing for the 32614. Meaning, it’s cheaper than they can advertise. So I added it to my cart, and sure enough, it’s $11.98 instead of the $15-ish I’d been seeing elsewhere.

When I went to check out, I realized it had me set to pickup at Evanston, no idea where that came from, I’ve never shopped there and I’m always logged in so it knows my home store. Well obviously I’m not driving 200 miles to pick the thing up, so I clicked the “free delivery” and the price jumped to $14.97. Now I don’t know about you, but a $3 price hike doesn’t sound like “free” to me.

And when I set the store to my home store (how did it get set to Evanston anyway?), the price went back up to $14.97 for pickup OR delivery.

…The heck is going on here?

This is true for many stores and franchises.

If it’s in stock vs. having to be shipped to store.

If it’s in a location with higher taxes.

If it’s a store with a more aggressive manager.

If it’s overstocked in a store.

      Theft causing lower profit margins.

The HD in my city has almost every piece of lumber/hardware for 5-15% cheaper than an HD 30 mins away. That HD will lower their prices to match the other one via the bid room, but they have to deal with a LOT of shrink (theft). However, there are many reasons why one might be cheaper than another with certain products.

The price on the MW ratchet sets is really good (52% off), though I wish the 1/4″ drive set was the set that also has deep metric and inch sockets.

I haven’t seen a Dewalt Wrench set advertised at Home Depot in years! Kind of surprised me!

Is there an obvious difference in the Bosch saw combos I’m missing that would price the 12” at $30 under the 10”?

Potentially, higher sales volume (promotional or otherwise), and greater competition from 12″ sliding saws.
