Home Depot is holding a tool deals of the day event today, 3/7/2022, with a sampling of the selection shown above.
Today’s Home Depot special buys feature cordless power tools and bundles by Dewalt, Milwaukee, Ridgid, and Ryobi, Dewalt miter saw and table saw bundles, and a small selection of hand tools and power tool accessories.
Some of the deals are notable, such as the Dewalt DWS780 miter saw with bonus work stand and miter saw brackets.

In price-checking the DWS780 dual bevel sliding miter saw, I discovered that Home Depot and Amazon both have sale pricing right now. The DWS780 saw is rarely discounted aside from bundle deals. So, if you don’t want the compact miter saw stand, there are ways to save on just the saw by itself.
Home Depot’s tool deals of the day are usually worth a quick scan, as the deals could be very good and the selection tends to change from deal to deal.
But, not all of the deals are great. Ridgid’s 18V oscillating multi-tool bundle was $79 a few weeks ago, and is now $109.
Some of the deals require a bit of scrutiny and research. For instance, Milwaukee’s M12 cordless drill and impact driver, which is almost almost always discounted to $99 for winter holiday and Father’s Day shopping seasons, is bundled with an additional 3Ah battery and 6Ah XC battery for $209.
An M12 6Ah battery is $119 by itself, and there’s also a special buy where you can get an M12 6Ah and 3Ah battery bundle for $119.
So, if you need batteries, you can get a 1.5Ah 2-pack for $79 (special buy) and a 6Ah and 3Ah bundle for $119, or $198 total. For another $11, you get an M12 drill, impact driver, charger, and kit bag.

Deals end at 3am ET 3/8/2022 unless supplies sell out sooner.

Seems like the Dewalt 20v drill and oscillating tool is up from the holiday special of $159. They do have a few different options with the drill/hammer drill and battery size.

I bought my limit (which is fewer than HD’s limit) of the Toughsystem 2.0 deep tool trays…

The DWS780 standalone is $550. Any rumblings that DeWalt is going to come out with a new flagship saw? I feel like this one has been around for quite awhile. Is $550 a good price?

List price was $599 for a long time, and as mentioned it was rarely discounted. The best someone could hope for was a “buy the saw get a free miter saw stand” bundle deal.
Now, the list price has been bumped up to $649.
At the moment, it seems to be on sale for $549 at most authorized dealers.
I think $549 is a good price. Amazon has it for a little less ($537).
From the product images, the DWS780 has recently been updated slightly to adhere to new safety guidelines – such as with the new side wings – and so I don’t think they’ll be replacing it anytime soon. Or at least, there’s no indication that it will be replaced any time soon.

Depending on the usage you’re intending. The DHS790AT2 is the battery powered version of that saw. You can get an AC adapter for it as well. I was able to get one several years ago for about $649 on a Thanksgiving sale. For doing reno’s in houses without power, cutting fencing without dragging extension cords, and everything in between it has been an amazing saw.
Course I had the DWS780 prior to the DHS790AT2 and it was beyond a solid saw as well. The battery powered unit just eliminated the need to drag a generator or extra cords around. 5 years later the sting of the extra cost has long since faded for me.

Not Home Depot – but I got emails saying that the Metabo HPT WH36DBGM 36V triple hammer impact gun is on sale for $199 ($80 off) at Toolbarn and Toolsplus compared to its $279 at Acme and elsewhere:
