Vise-Grips LockingC-Clamp Swivel Grip Pliers 6-inch

Over in today’s deals roundup post, I linked to an Irwin Vise-Grip locking C-clamp pliers deal, where you can get the 4-inch pliers for $7.66. That’s a pretty decent deal.

But, this new deal is even better!

Amazon has the Vise-Grip 6-inch locking C-clamp pliers on sale for $5.83.

These have a 2″ opening width.

My advice, if this is something you think you could use, ORDER NOW, and think about it later. You could always cancel. But at this price, and given that they’re already backordered, they might sell out and the decision will be made for you.

Shipping ETA as of the time of this post: Jan 21, 2020.

Thanks to MoogleMan3 for the tip!

Update: The pliers have sold out. Check back, there’s a chance it’ll be relisted, or it might be out of stock for a while.

Do yourself a favor and find old ones made in DeWitt, Nebraska. Those are about as good as something made for Lowe’s (Kolbalt) or Home Depot (Husky) , which isn’t very….just cheap offshore crap.

These Chinese vise grips are absolute junk. I understand you’re posting the deal but these aren’t worth buying.

“Irwin” Vice grips are GARBAGE, too bad, when made in Nebraska they were a wonderful product.

“But surely they’re better than nothing”.

      No they aren’t.

I dont know what I would buy in the case my usa made “DeWitts” went missing. Maybe the milwaukee ones but I heard the teeth are just as soft as chiwan made vises.

The Milwaukees are ok– no where near as good as the old USA Vice Grips but at least you can use them without one jaw kinking sideways and going past the other. The jaws are indeed softer but at least they pretty much stay aligned and therefore they aren’t dangerous to use.

I have a bunch of the small Milwaukee vise clamps I use for welding. They are more expensive but very high quality. May add more of them since I never have enough.

I thought the DeWitt plant was going to resume production under a different name? Guess it never happened?

I wonder if it was the raw material or hardening process (or both) that made the jaws on the old ones way better than the crappy new ones.

I tried a handfull of different chinesium steel “vice grips”. All junk. I have resorted to ebay and yard sales.

I did find an unusual and cool vintage pair. Its a 10R plier but has replaceable brass soft jaws. Marked PIN-PAL SOFT-JAW marl (Marlborough) MA. Great for grasping retaining pins with out scrating the hell out of them.

I live in Nebraska and actually know a couple people who worked in the old DeWitt plant. When they were bought out and moving production out you could buy mispackaged ones cheap locally and I bought maybe 10 pairs of different sizes and styles. By now I have lost a few in the fields (I do repair and maintenance on a farm) and am needing more. The story is they are still wanting to get the DeWitt plant going again, but the official product launch seems to keep getting pushed back. I have seen and even handled some prototypes or early production units and they seem really good, like the original ones. Until they get going, I. Crescent are probably the ‘best’ of the imports I have found so far, followed by Milwaukee. Knipex haven’t been worth the cost to me, which is unusual because everything else I have in Knipex brand has been top shelf and worth the extra cost if you really wanted quality. I haven’t tried Grip On yet, so no opinion on those. The ones that surprised me were the HF premium brand (Bremen or something like that) have been pretty good, as good as the Milwaukee, and at a low price, especially with coupon. If I’m stuck buying a China import, that’s what I’m going with until the Eagle Grips become available, assuming they are still coming.
