A while back I purchased a Keter 18″ cantilever organizer (~$30 via Amazon), and while not as heavy-duty as a metal cantilever toolbox, it’s made from strong and rigid plastic and is rather nicely built. I would have purchased a couple more, but Keter’s organizers tend to take up a lot of shelf space.
Apparently I’m not the only one wishing for a smaller organizer, as Keter has come out with the Trio, a 3-tiered cantilever organizer that has a very small footprint. The organizer, which can also be used as a compact toolbox, features three dividable levels.

The Keter Trio is a little different than their other cantilever organizers, as it is divided using customizable dividers instead of removable bins. But, like other Keter organizers, the Trio does have a long carrying handle for greater portability. A clear lid lets you peek in at the contents of the topmost level, and two metal latches securely holds everything together for storage or transport.

There are two downsides to the Keter Trio organizer. First, as with their other cantilever organizers and toolboxes, the Trio can only be spread open on a flat and stable surface. It has rear support legs that help to keep the upper levels from tipping everything over.
Second, these cantilever organizers seem to be very hard to find. I spotted them at a local Lowes (item# 475331) a few months back for $35 each, and have never seen them there or anywhere else since.

I have bought mine @ Osh Hardware and Garden B4. I have the bigger two tier version and it does not hold up very well. If you look close at the craftsman box its identical. Its basically the same box but red and it comes in at 19.99 If I had the ability to post pics I would.

Keter and Zag (Stanley) – both in Israel – make lots of the plastic toolboxes I’ve seen rebranded under names like Husky (Home Depot), Taskforce, Workforce etc. sold at various big box stores. My main concern about using toolboxes like this (and even other organizer boxes) for small parts storage is their ability to keep things in their place if the box gets tipped over. I wonder if anyone has tested this out?

I have 4 2 tier tool boxes. Most of them have small screws ,fasteners ,nuts, washers, wire nuts, plumbing seats, washers,etc……I have had them flip over with no problem.

Hey Stuart, any idea if Keter is the OEM on these boxes?
Another model they sell is virtually identical to a toolbox I picked up on a trip to Germany last year at a Home Depot-type store (the name of the store eludes me right now – my guess is that the store is owned by Home Depot as all the pricing tags and fonts used on signage were identical to HD).
I love the box and have always been on the lookout for a rebranded version as a second one.

As far as I am aware, Keter-branded products are all manufactured in-house. They also operate as an OEM for other companies and many private label brands.

I have a couple of the 2 tier ones that i use everyday professionally. One for the parts(screws, wire nuts, resistors) that i use on every job. The other i have set up with screws, nuts and bolts in several sizes. the second one is kinda heavy, so it doesn’t get moved out of the van much, but they have both held up great. I like the look of the 3 tier one, i’ll keep my eye out for one.

Not the same as the above but still a Keter product but I have been using the Keter Sliding tool chest for on site for the last 8 months and, frankly has well exceeded my expectations.
Despite my initial reservations on its structural integrity it has held up brilliantly. It carts all my gear (@23kg all up), floats around the back of the ute (pick up to you guys in the USA) and I even stand on it it sometimes.
So yes, a big thumbs up for their products.

In my 1st post I mentioned these boxes do not hold up well. I should clarify that by saying I most my problems are with the lids not holding up. They tend to crack easily.
