Klein Adjustable Length Stubby Screwdriver 32308 Hero

The Klein 32308 stubby multi-bit screwdriver seems to pack a lot of functionality while still being affordable.

Klein Adjustable Length Stubby Screwdriver 32308

The stubby screwdriver features built-in bit storage, and it comes with an adjustable-length bit holder.

Klein Adjustable Length Stubby Screwdriver 32308 Shaft Extension

This means that, even though it has a stubby-style handle and compact size when closed, you can extend the length of the bit holder for added reach.

Its magnetic bit holder and 7 included insert-style screwdriver bits are also impact-rated, and can be used in an impact driver if hand-tightening isn’t enough for the task.

Klein Adjustable Length Stubby Screwdriver 32308 Applications

The screwdriver is at-home with electrical and industrial fastening tasks and applications, but its features can also serve general purpose use just as well.

It also features a spinning end cap for “optimum and precise control.”

Included screwdriver bits:

  • Phillips #1, #2, #3
  • Slotted 3/16″, 1/4″
  • Square #1, #2
  • 1/4″ hex Nut driver

This seems like a highly practical multi-bit screwdriver for general purpose use. Well done, Klein. User reviews seem to be very positive.

It seems like a great sidekick for any tool kit. I wouldn’t want this as my one-and-only multi-bit screwdriver, but its small size means it takes up less space in a pouch, tool box, or drawer. The adjustable length bit holder makes up for the short handle, and can be removed for use in an impact driver if needed.

A driver with impact rated bits, an included bit holder, and storage in the handle. Definitely gonna check it out. I do maintenance and often use an impact driver for speed of disassembly but want the control of a hand driver for re assembly, something like this might be a great help.

Do they make a full size version as well, or just a stubby?

This is the full size version:

      https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-Tools-14-in-1-Multi-Bit-Adjustable-Length-Screwdriver-32303/314975057

I usually keep the stubby one in my pocket with a 5/16&1/4 Malco nut driver inserted for maintenance tasks.

I think I saw Fred suggest the screwdriver in a comment 2 years ago and got it back then. Very useful. I also have the full size one, but some of the bits tend to fall out when you slide the handle open to change bits.

If this is in stock at HD, it will be part of my birthday present to myself today. Then, off to Lowes to get the Tough built open tote to put it in.

This bundle is a good option as well.

Yes agreed. Stuart pointed it out a week ago I believe. And though it took an hour for the HD team to locate it (not in the holiday pop-up as shown in Stuart’s post) at my store, I’m glad I picked this up at this price.

    This is pretty cool.

Quick update that Lowes has a “buy Metabo HPT MV 4ah battery” and get a free gift promotion going on. You can choose between the 7 1/4″ MV circ saw, 7 1/4″ MV rear handled saw, and recip saw.

They also have the Metabo HPT 23 gauge pin nailer for $99 (tool only). Even though I have their excellent pneumatic pin nailer.

Really, really tempted on both of these.

Sorry to put this here, putting into that 4 tool Metabo thread.

This driver is pretty cool and I like Klein.

The Klein holidays bundle deal, that you recently posted about, includes this driver – plus other items for $24.88 – and Klein also sells this stubby as part of a 2-piece set:

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-Tools-2-Piece-Multi-Bit-Screwdriver-Tool-Set-M2O41540KIT/316133278

As I said before, I like this Klein Stubby and their other extendable shaft drivers enough to find myself grabbing them for many jobs. I can’t say that I’ve tried using the shaft/bits in a cordless driver – but that seems like a decent idea.

BTW – for many screwdriving tasks I still prefer using my older M12 (non Fuel) driver that is easy to “feather” – has enough torque to drive most screws – but not so much to strip or break them.

I have a 2760-20 (M18 Fuel – Surge) driver for tougher jobs – but hardly use it – favoring moving up to my 2765-20 (M18 – 7/16inch drive) for both drilling and driving lags on landscaping projects.

The older M12 non fuel driver you show is what got me into Milwaukee. I think it was a Christmas special with a radio, hex screwdriver, battery and charger. I think it was for $79. I use it when installing cabinet doors. Like you said – enough torque – but not enough to strip.

Worth noting the insert bits are also stubby – even shorter than 1″.

      Really? That’s a twist.

Shorter bits are something I would appreciate in many scenarios, but is there room for standard-sized bits in the handle then or only for the shorter version it comes with?

I’ve had this for some time now and its great. Perfect for around the house and especially for tight spaces. Easy to pack up or slip in a kit. One of a few Klein screwdrivers i have.

now if only it was ratcheting, as their current ratcheting stubby is only for double ended bits…

I was at our nearest Home Depot, and they had two drivers bundled together. One was this stubby, the other was a larger one, with more bits.
Both had the extendable, removable bit driver, both had bit storage in the handle, and both had impact rated bits and drivers.
The bigger one had a larger handle, with two rows of insert bits instead of one.
I don’t remember the exact price, but it was notably less than buying the two separately.
I saw it in the store, but cannot find it online.
    Just thought I’d mention it.
