LED illumination brightness is rated at 200 lumens at the high intensity setting, and a low intensity beam setting helps extend battery life (up to 10 hours).

There are two additional settings – lantern and strobing lantern, which Kobalt says are intended for emergencies. Perhaps these lantern modes make use of lower power LEDs within the translucent white midsection of the LED housing, for nightlight or signal purposes, which would come in handy for campers.
The Hypercoil is made from high impact polymer and is said to be water-resistant. This makes it suitable for field use, as well as in the home, garage, workshop, or jobsite..
You can use the Hypercoil work light hands-free, thanks to the magnets located in the battery housings.

The kit is priced at $30 and is available online (with free shipping on $49+ orders) and with a free in-store pickup option. Right now Lowe’s stock indicator shows that the Hypercoil is available at some but not all stores for in-store purchase or pickup. There is also a bonus set that comes with a free tool pouch, but it is not yet available for sale.
First Impression
$30 is pretty good for a 200-lumen LED worklight that comes with a 3.6V rechargeable battery and alternative AA power option. Not only that, the Kobalt Hypercoil has a flexible neck for high adjustability, and magnets for hands-free use. It’s also listed as being water-resistant and even waterproof.
If this was just a regular flashlight, it probably wouldn’t have caught my attention. You can find 200-lumen LED flashlights for quite cheap these days, even from professional brands. For instance, Streamlight’s 180-lumen Protac is also priced at $40 (via Amazon).
I don’t really expect pro-grade quality from this light, but for $30 it looks to offer decent bang for the buck.

Wow, now that is a blast from the past. I remember seeing that product, even the original version a long time ago. You can actually still find those on eBay from what I remember though.

I hope it’s floody with a relatively smooth beam. I have a Joby Gorillatorch that’s pretty handy as a worklight, but the beam is throwy with lots of rings in the profile – thus, it doesn’t get used much.

It’s included and isactually built into the Li-ion battery pack. Unscrew the cap and the AC charging prongs fold out.
