Thank you to Leatherman for sponsoring ToolGuyd this holiday season!
Leatherman Black Friday FREE Gift Offers

FREE Blade Sharpener with Orders $100+
FREE Tool Maintenance Kit with Orders $200+
These free-with-purchase offers are not cumulative – they’re one or the other – and there’s more fine print you’ll find on Leatherman’s website. This promo is set to run through December 5th, or while supplies last.
With all of the promos Leatherman is running right now, you might not want to put the “while supplies last” part to the test.
The best part is that the free gift offer stacks on top of Leatherman’s concurrent holiday discount offers where you can save up to 40% on select multi-tools! So far, I have yet to find any exclusions.

Here’s everything that you get with the tool maintenance kit. It comes with a sharpener – the same one you would otherwise get with orders over $100 and under $200 – cleaning instruments, a tray, microfiber cloth, lubrication oil, and a carrying case to hold it all.

Even if you don’t plan on cleaning your multi-tools or EDC gear, I’m sure you can put these goodies to good use.

This is not something that Leatherman threw together just to give away, it’s their regular tool maintenance kit which retails for $69.95.
If you find yourself halfway between $100 and $200, add in a Skeletool, Micra, or other highly versatile – or giftable – tool to get your order over $200. Or at least that’s what I would do.
The free gift item is automatically added to your cart at checkout.
Leatherman Multi-Tool Deals

Leatherman Micra in Red, Blue, Silver – $29.97 (40% off 49.95)
The Micra is a compact keychain-sized tool that’s packed with useful features.

Leatherman Raptor Response Folding Shears – $59.96 (25% off $79.95)
These EDC shears feature 420HC stainless steel cutting edges, Cerakoted-aluminum handles, a ring cutter, ruler scale, and oxygen tank wrench.

Leatherman Wave Plus Multi-Tool – $95.96 (20% off $119.95)
The Wave Plus is one of Leatherman’s most popular multi-tools – and one of my all-time favorites. If you’re not sure which Leatherman is right for you, the Wave Plus could be an excellent starting point, especially at a discount.

Leatherman Rebar Multi-Tool – $63.96 (20% off $79.95)
The Rebar is a compact multi-tool with a traditional form factor and some modern features, such as the user-replaceable wire cutting edges.

Leatherman Skeletool Multi-Tool – $59.96 (20% off $74.95)
The Skeletool is a minimalist multi-tool with pliers, partially serrated knife blade that can be opened with one hand, removable bit screwdriver with a slot in the handle for a second bit, and carabiner clip that doubles as a bottle opener.
I bought my first Leatherman Skeletool more than 16 years ago, and it still gives me joy to use. Tools shouldn’t be fun or enjoyable to use, but this one is.

Leatherman Wingman Multi-Tool – $55.96 (20% off $69.95)
The Wingman is described as a “go-to for projects around the house, on the job, or at the campsite,” and I’d say that’s 100% spot-on.

Leatherman Sidekick Multi-Tool – $55.96 (20% off $69.95)
Choose the Sidekick over the Wingman if you prefer a plain edge knife and wood-cutting saw over the scissors.
Leatherman Multi-Tool Gift Ideas

50% off Leatherman Customizations
Leatherman doesn’t just offer personalization services, they can customize most of their multi-tools with unique patterns and decorations.
I once gave personalized Leatherman multi-tools as gifts, and I regret not getting one for myself too. One of these days I’m going to fix that – maybe soon, as this offer seems pretty enticing.

Leatherman Arc Multi-Tool – $229.95
The ARC is Leatherman’s flagship multi-tool, featuring MagnaCut blade steel, replaceable pliers cutting edges, removable bit drivers, durable PVD coating, and easy-access tools and features.

Leatherman Limited Edition Arc Multi-Tool in Obsidian – $275
Leatherman took the Arc and gave it a limited edition finish. I don’t usually like darker colors, but I think the Arc Obsidian looks great. It comes with a matching leather sheath.

Leatherman Skeletool CX Multi-Tool (New Colors!) – $89.95
The Skeletool CX is an upgrade over the regular Skeletool, featuring a 154CM plain edge knife blade. It’s also available in a wide range of colors, including Guava, which is shown here.
Pick a color that speaks to your tastes, or go for one that’ll stand out better on your workbench, in your tool box, or if you drop it in the grass.

Leatherman Ratchet Driver – $39.95
The ratchet driver is an add-on for Leatherman multi-tools (not included) that feature a removable bit driver, such as the Wave Plus and Skeletool. YES, it can work with standard 1/4″ hex screwdriver bits, and of course Leatherman’s own space-saving flat bits.
How many sharpeners and tool maintenance kits do you think Leatherman gave away with $100+ and $200+ orders, respectively, in the time you took to read through this post? If you’re interested, hurry up and take a look.

If the wave came with a full size Phillip bit, I’d be all over that one. But, no, just the thin bits, which I am not a big fan of, especially in the Philips variety. I love the Rebar and it is the perfect mix of tools and features for me, except I wish it had a blade that was accessible without opening the pliers. Lesser of two evils I guess. I have a Sidekick also and it is just doesn’t come close to the Rebar, even with an easy access blade.
Stuart
In addition to the ratcheting driver, Leatherman also has a bit driver extender that can be used with the space-saving flat bits AND standard 1/4″ hex screwdriver bits.
Joe A
True, and I have considered that, but it’s something else to carry and lose. I already carry a County Com titanium screwdriver with 3 different bits in the handle alongside my Rebar and would like to not have to I’m tempted to buy one of the clones that does come with a full-sized bit holder and see if I can fit it into a Wave or my Rebar. Then I only need to carry extra bits.
Stuart
That’s a fair point, I can see how the lack of a full-size bit socket could be frustrating. I’ve tried some models from other brands that have full-size bit holders, and that feature takes up a lot of space. Maybe Leatherman might eventually make something similar, but I think the flat-style hex bits are a reasonable compromise.
There’s also the option of a replacement sheath with loop or pocket for the bit extender.
Joe A
Valid point. A sheath for the multitool that could bring together the bit holder extension and some bits, without being bulky (no storing stuff behind tool) could make it all work well.
Even if I had a full-sized bit holder, I still need to carry bits. And, the full-sized bits they use are (potentially) non-standard and double-ended with a ball detent retention.
A bit stash tube of sorts, just big enough for 4 or 5 bits would be ideal and could fit on opposite side of multitool from bit holder.

I bought the ratchet driver the very first time they released it, it was $29 then. However I love it, it’s a great addition to any of the bit drivers multi tools.

I’ve never experienced Buyer’s Remourse more than since this exact sale. Just last month I spent over $600 CAD in Leatherman products and accessories/replacement parts, and just now they are offering the maintenance kits for large purchases.
When I do have money, even if it’s a little bit more than usual, I’m Really bad at my timing and spending habits!
(Though, I will say, I lucked out big time when I sent my old Wave in for warranty. I had warn out the Diamond File, and was expecting them to just be able to take the old one out, and put the modern one in. Maybe, at most, sharpen the main straight blade as a bonus. Instead they took the Wave livery scales off my Wave, and slapped them on a brand-spanking-new Wave+ so that the entire thing is new. It’s a Wave+ wearing a costume as its own predecessor! Very happy with the results! I can even see the litany of changes they made to the tools between iterations! And all of them are most certainly improvements I like!)

You’ve been reading ToolGuyd for long enough to know how I feel about making non-essential purchases just before Prime Day or Black Friday. That’s not from my guessing about what could happen, but because of my own experiences just like yours.
Tony
Before they came out with the ratcheting extension, I took a standard extension and filed it to fit the bit holder in the wave. I was an HVAC tech back then, loved that I could use my standard bits and sockets and such with it.

I have only carried be the original the others are too bulky for me. I gave up my buck 110 for it and have carried one everyday I search eBay and buy them when I can
