Leatherman Free P4 Multi-Tool Prime Day Deal 2024

Amazon has the Leatherman FREE P4 multi-tool on sale for Prime Day 2024. They’ve slashed the price by 30%, from $149.95 to $104.96.

I bought a FREE P4 about two years ago, and have had zero regrets – it’s a fantastic multi-tool. To be fair, I already knew that, as I had reviewed the P2 multi-tool earlier.

The Free P4 is one of Leatherman’s best multi-tools, and has similar “magnetic architecture” as the P2 and newer ARC tool. Translation: all of the secondary tools are a lot easier to access compared to other multi-tool designs.

Here’s a list of all of the Leatherman Free P4’s tools and features:

  4. Premium Replaceable Hard-wire Cutters
  5. 420HC Knife
  6. 420HC Serrated Knife
  7. Spring-action Scissors
  8. Saw
  9. Pry Tool
  10. Package Opener
  11. Awl
  12. Can Opener
  13. Wire Stripper
  14. Ruler (1.41 in | 25 mm)
  15. Wood/Metal File
  16. Bottle Opener
  17. Electrical Crimper
  18. Phillips Screwdriver
  19. Medium Screwdriver
  20. Small Screwdriver
  21. Extra-small Screwdriver

Sale Price: $104.96

Buy it at Amazon

Should you buy it? That’s up to you. I think the P4 is one of the best multi-tools on the market today, and it’s made in the USA. If a multi-tool is part of your EDC (everyday carry) tool kit, make it a great one.

Leatherman’s website has the P4 listed as “unavailable,” and says it’s exclusively available via their Amazon store.

How many do you think they’re going to sell at this price? I don’t think I have ever seen the Free series tools on sale, let alone discounted by 30%.

I see this as a “don’t dawdle, get your order in now” type of deal.

If you’re not in the market for a $105 multi-tool, the Gerber Suspension multi-tool is a lesser tool but a good value at $30. Amazon also has the SOG PowerAccess on sale for under $40.

Anyone else, like me, dumb enough to read the headline and think “wow a FREE Leatherman? maybe Prime Day isn’t so bad this year!” before clicking this article?

Ha, I thought b1g1, not outright free, but, yeah…. 😀

Yeah, the name “Free” technology leads to some confusion. I’m not sure it was an accidental branding choice.

The K and T series have tools that are easy to access, and the locks are solid. The locks look slightly different on the P series, but I appear to have the same core design.

Recently bought the Leatherman Signal in Guava thanks to a Toolguyd post at 20% off. I still feel like I overpaid so much for that multi tool even with a discount. Most underwhelming Leatherman out of the ones I have. The Guava color is awful, it’s pink and not a cool outdoor gear color.

I am done with Leatherman. The ones I have work fine. Pricing doesn’t match anymore.

Ha! I bought a Free P4 directly from Leatherman about a year ago for full price. Then, because I had lost and then found it again a couple times, I stopped carrying it and replaced it with the Gerber Suspension NXT ($30) that I could afford to lose.

This looks very similar to the Arc minus the Magnacut blade. I’d love to try one of these or their other free tools. Not in the market for another multitool- I bought the skeletool / kbx combo from Costco a few months ago.
