Thanksgiving is less than 4 days away. Normally by now we have had a chance to look through Home Depot, Lowes, and Sears Black Friday flyer. Our post about Sears’ Black Friday 2014 tool sales went up over two weeks ago, Home Depot’s is nowhere to be found, and Lowes’ just popped onto the web this afternoon. Still, a couple of days of advanced peeking is better than nothing!
Lowes’ Black Friday and Thanksgiving sale prices are valid 11/27 – 12/3, except maybe for doorbusters. Quantities are limited with certain deals, so do your shopping online and early on Thanksgiving if you can.
Sale prices go live online on Thanksgiving Day, 11/27/14, and stores open at 5am on 11/28 for those of you that like to hit the stores on foot on Black Friday.

“Sale prices go love online on Thanksgiving Day” usually means that they’ll go live midnight. Sometimes this means 1am, 2am, or 3am, depending on where the retailer or its corporate servers are located.

Zachary
Really underwhelming if you ask me.
John S
the only thing I see that is interesting to me is the rockwell jawhorse.
Stuart
The Stanley FatMax hammer is a good price too.
William Curley
@John S – This is actually available at this price now (at least near me). You can find a $20 off $100 coupon then if you have a discover card can stick another 10% with that, then finally another 2% with fatwallet CB.I have one ready for pick this morning.

Kobalt 7-1/4″ 9A sliding compound miter saw for $79
I have been eyeing this up for about a year now. Going to pull the trigger. I do a lot of renovation work and pulling out the 10 inch or 12 inch compound dewalt chop saws to do a single door frame or baseboard in a bathroom is getting taxing. The only other 7.25 compound saw out is the makita and they do not make it any more. Plus its more than a 12 inch saw in price.
Matt
Can an $80 compound slider be decent? Are there other small-blade chop saws in use? It’s intriguing but I figure I might as well save up for a name brand 10″ slider.
James C
Ace Hardware has a BF deal on a Craftsman 7 1/4″ for $50. It doesn’t look like it slides but it might be another option to consider.

I’m waiting for the home depot ad to hit.
Steve Cox
Same, Thought we would have see it by now.
Zachary
Better have some good shit in that ad since we have been waiting so damn long.
Chad
Yep only thing i like in this BFA is the jaw horse the oscillating tool and the hammer
would like to upgrade to some led work lights anyone seen any ads for them ( not the floor ones — i want the ones with the folding stand )
Ty
is the 10″ 15A table saw with stand for $199 any good?
fred
Hard to know – but it got all sorts of reviews: good, bad and everything in between on the Lowes site. For $119 I would not expect much. We had moved over to Bosch jobsite saws – years ago – but the 4100’s we used didn’t come at $119 – nor did the gravity rise stands they sat on.
Ty
I was referring to the $199 one which I believe is the Kobalt with rolling stand. The one for $119 is Skil.
Stuart
You could always give it a try and return it if you’re not satisfied.
Personally, I would gravitate more towards Bosch or Dewalt. My impression is that these saws should be a little more robust, maybe a little more accurate, and they allow for easier adjustability if/when something goes out of square. But I also haven’t used a $200 table saw before.
fred
From the saw’s UPC (847962005083) it would appear that the saw is made by Delta for Lowes. Now while I don’t expect that it is up to the quality of my 1970’s vintage Delta Unisaw with sliding table – the reviews on Lowes webpage – seem pretty decent. Maybe if you have an idea about what you want in a saw – and use that as a filter to read between the lines of the reviews – you might see if its worth buying to try it out. In this sort of saw – I have experience with Bosch – and see a lot of Dewalt’s on jobsites – so I tend to agree with Stuart’s thoughts.
Joe
Not sure if you posted about it yet or not, but a good site with some pretty decent deals right now is CPOoutlets. I just bought a fiberglass 14 oz Stiletto for $85.
