- $30 off $199+
- $50 off $299+
- $80 off $399+
Unfortunately, the new MakTrak tool box systems that influencers have been trying to hype up on social media is NOT included in this offer.
There haven’t been a lot of Makita tool deals this holiday season so far. The great thing about a deal like this one is that it works on most of the tools you might be interested in, rather than just whatever tools they want to sell in throngs at big box stores.
If you shop carefully, there are also a couple of deals eligible for multiple offers. For example, the Makita XGT cordless router kit is $80 off with this promo, and there’s also an offer for a free XGT impact driver via rebate. (The free impact rebate gets you the GDT02D, not the flagship GDT01D model.)
If you were looking to buy any new Makita gear, now might be a good time. This deal ends today, 12/3/24, at 11:59pm CT.

just a bit more and I would rather get the GPR01. It does more, that’s only if you got the batteries

Completely different tool, but also eligible for the coupon deal.

Between the price increases, the push for e-rebates in lieu of in-store promos and poor marketing, I’ve pretty much given up on makita after using them exclusively for almost 30 years. Our local ace and tractor supply are the only stores that carry makita and they’ve both stopped carrying stock in-store due to lack of sales. I’m looking at flex, dewalt or metabo hpt now, since lowes is the only real option in our county to pick up tools and batteries quickly

I grew up on the West Coast where a lot of framing and finish work guys ran Makita and Pentair era Porter Cable. I want to see Makita succeed – they deserve to based off their quality. I have a number of corded Makita tools that are still some of the best tools I have ever owned. Absolutely bulletproof build quality and reliability.
But, I highly recommed Metabo HPT – moved into them starting in 2022. There have been phenomenal battery promotions and some great deals at Lowe’s (who always seems to have their cordless tools on clearance). I am fairly convinced Lowe’s keeps Metabo HPT around because pros show up for their pneumatic nailers. You can get great deals whenever Lowe’s seems to have oddball “clearance” sales on Metabo HPT cordless. The brand itself usually runs some great battery promos, where you can get a free battery in the mail for buying a bare tool.
In terms of quality, I think they are a “value Makita” – not quite as great as the best Makita offerings, but really good. The ergos are great. The tools and batteries have also been very reliable. Where you’ll notice the biggest difference is probably in the bigger tools – e.g. Makita makes really exceptional miter saws and their track saw (36v LXT or corded) is legendary. Metabo HPT’s offerings there are more value focused; good, but not as good as Makita.

My local , privately-owned tool shop guy, from whom I bought my first Makita tools 18 years ago, told me yesterday he is backing off from his orders for Makita inventory, because of frustration with pricing, release slowness and marketing.
Sigh. I hope Makita US spins up a fresh approach at continued US viability, soon.
