Amazon has this Metabo HPT 18V cordless brad nailer kit, model NT1850DG, on sale as part of their early Cyber Monday tool deals for just $99.
Yes, that’s $99 for the KIT, including the brad nailer, a 2Ah Li-ion battery, and charger. It looks like Lowe’s is matching Amazon’s deal price.
This isn’t the best cordless brad nailer on the market, but should suffice for occasional use.

It works with 18 gauge brad nails 5/8″ to 2″ long, and can drive up to 700 nails per charge with the included 2Ah battery.
$99 is a surprisingly low price for a pro brand cordless brad nailer, even if this isn’t Metabo HP’s premium model. Metabo HPT makes excellent air and battery-powered nails. This one’s relatively new to the market, but the user reviews seem positive.
If you want the best Metabo HPT has to offer, look at their NT1850DFT cordless brad nailer, which is currently $229 at Amazon and other dealers.
Clay
How does it compare to the Ryobi Airstrike.
Evan
I was wondering the same thing Clay. Im not sure how Ryobi’s “air strike” technology compares but this budget HPT model uses a mechanical spring instead of the “air spring drive” of the more expensive HPT model. Im not sure what that all means in practice but I was asking myself the same question.
Scott K
I have the Ryobi and it works really well. I’ve used it for a few woodworking projects and some trim jobs. From the picture above, the Ryobi looks a bit larger. Seems to have the same range capacity. It has two firing modes, adjustable sinking depth, work light, and it comes with two pads. The lack of air hoses and cartridges make it easy enough to take out for just a few nails if needed.
Evan
This is a good deal! Acme had the same nailer as part of their early BF offerings for $99 with a $15 early BF coupon code – I almost bought it but waited too long and lost the early BF discount. Still might buy it at $99.

I have this nailer. It’s excellent for trim work. It sunk a 1 inch brad into a scrap piece of white oak, which is wayore than O plan to ask of it. Happy browsing.
Evan
Thank you for this review Goodie! Will order tonight.

Enjoy!

I believe Lowe’s has the better model the NT1850DFT for $229 but you can choose a free gift with it. You can get a oscillating multitool, circular saw, jigsaw, grinder, 2 1/2 amp power 36 V multivolt battery, recip saw, or a sander.
This might be a better deal for someone depending on what their needs are.
Stuart
Thanks, I missed that one!
Here’s the link to the Lowe’s promo.
Evan
Showing up as $279 for me at Lowes – perhaps I missed the $229 already?
Stuart
I also see $279. Amazon has the upgraded nailer for $229, but Lowe’s has it for $279 with a free tool.
Mr B
That is odd, On my Lowes app it is still $229. It shows regular price $279.

I am in zip code 32780. Could it be a location difference? I get a military discount, but that usually doesn’t show up until I check out. And only on some items.
Evan
Mr. B good call! This does seem to be a zip code issue – when I check other stores, put in your zip code, and add to cart, the price drops to $229 as long as I pick up in Titusville. When I click delivery or pick up where I live it changes to $279. Im going to try other stores in driving distance from me to check…

Is the model 1850 DG heavier than the premium 1850 DFT model? On Amazon, the DG model is listed at 5.5 lbs while the DFT states 4.4 lbs. There is a considerable difference in price point on Amazon.
Stuart
Metabo HPT’s site says 5.5 lbs without battery for the DG model (mechanical drive), and 4.4 lbs without battery for the DFT (pneumatic drive). The differences (in weight and price) are due to the drive type.
