The Milwaukee M12 brushless rotary tool kit, model 2525-21, is currently on sale for Cyber Week, for $129.
To make it clear, this is the new model that’s equipped with a brushless motor. Features include a 1/8″ collet (other sizes are available separately), ergonomic contoured grip, LED work light, spindle lock, variable speed control, and 5,000 to 27,500 RPM speed range.
With a compact battery installed, Milwaukee’s brushless rotary tool measures around 10″ long.

The rotary tool can be used for a variety of cutting, sanding, grinding, and polishing applications, you just need to equip it with the right accessory.
It’s kitted with a compact 2Ah battery, charger, and tool bag, plus a mandrel and cut-off wheel. You’ll need to source other accessories and attachments separately.
Milwaukee backs the tool with their 5-year warranty.
At this time, Home Depot has the M12 brushless rotary tool kit listed as a special buy at $169. Acme Tools and Ohio Power Tool both have the kit priced at $129, which is considerably better.
Get it while you can, deals like this tend to only be available in limited quantities for a limited time.

“variable speed dial”
I think this model has buttons to control the speed. The only version has a dial.
Clay
Old not only. The brushed version.
Stuart
Sorry – that’s right, it has speed up and down buttons.

Thanks for the heads up. Decided to go for it and was able to take another $10 off by signing up for text alerts. Nice deal!

Home Depot and others were selling this for $129 as a bare tool, now this is a good deal, thanks Mr toolguyd.

Shame the MW cut-off wheel arbor that comes with it is total crap. Have had two of their Drexel tools and both had arbors that wobbled the discs.
JR Ramos
Just the older brushed model but both arbors with those have been excellent even with a couple big oopses that I expected to find them bent afterwards. The wheels they include are actually excellent quality, which is nice.
Generally prefer Foredom mandrels…worth hunting those down if you find others to have vibration or whatever. Amazon has some if you search for the model you want, and good jeweler’s suppliers like Otto Frei or Esslinger have them.
Don
Acme Tool has an even better deal. If you instead choose the bare tool version of the brushless rotary tool, it comes with a 4Ah battery and a charger for the same $129. If you use the code CYBERDEAL, you get an additional $10 off, so $119 total!
Stuart
Thanks! Here’s the Acme Tools link. Personally I’d rather have a compact battery for a tool like this, but it’s great to have that choice!
Adam
Thanks for the Acme link. I added 2 to cart, saving $30 immediately, and getting a $10 gift card.

I just got the m12 jigsaw with two batyeries on acme, comparable deal math to HD and I wanted to support a small business.

Not sure how small a business Acme tools is. I thought I read they sold off their online store (acme.com) to Amazon several years ago.
Is this right?
Joellikestools
If you go to the “about us” page on the website, point six is that they are still family owned and operated. With ten stores in the Midwest compared to Home Depot’s roughly 2000 they are still a small business.
Maybe you are thinking of ToolBarn or another business that got bought out?
Stuart
No that’s not right. It’s family owned and independently run.
You could have easily fact-checked this yourself. Your link is also wrong.
Don
Acme Tools is an independent business their own physical and online stores. They also sell through Amazon, but so do a lot of small businesses. That doesn’t mean they are owned by Amazon.
This “I thought I read” nonsense is how misinformation starts.

That’s a great deal on the kit. I got mine bare tool from ACME on Black Friday for $112 with one of their select product coupons. I have so many M12 batteries and chargers that the bare tool deal was better for me anyway.

I passed on this updated model but I really would love to have the more powerful brushless motor on it. New one just feels really awkward and bulky (and marginally less safe with the control locations now). The old one isn’t weak when used correctly but it could stand to have more oomph.
Also a shame that they kitted the weak 2.0 battery with this. That will end up with disappointment, imho. They should have showcased their much better 2.5 battery with this Fuel-level tool that has the potential to deliver more torque under load. People that buy this would do better to stick a bulkier 4.0 battery on it if they don’t have a 2.5 (or better yet, the 5.0).
I think they charge way too much for this tool and while the deals for the old one brought the price back to $79 bare tool, that’s still a bit high for what it is. The old one got two rounds of price increases for no real great reason (pretty high-percentage increases each time, too). Maybe they should nix the old model and put the new Fuel version as a standalone at $99 or $109 bare.
I’m just not a fan of the design direction Milwaukee has been taking lately with new or updated tools…some good things but a lot of not-good things.
