Milwaukee M12 ProPEX Expansion Tool

Well, it looks like most of our Milwaukee M12 predictions were wrong. We’re not at Milwaukee’s press event, but other channels are, and they’ve provided early details about some of Milwaukee’s hot new releases.

Milwaukee is expanding their already huge selection of M12 12-volt lithium ion compact cordless tools with a palm nailer, hammer drill, universal multi-tool, and a few more surprising additions.

Milwaukee M12 Universal Oscillating Multi-Tool

This is one prediction we got right! It has been reported that this tool will have an extended runtime and includes a universal accessory adapter that enables the tool to be used with Fein, Bosch, Dremel, Craftsman, Ridgid, and Rockwell accessories.

Ridgid’s JobMax multi-tool includes an adapter for Bosch and Dremel accessories, and Bosch recently announced an expanded accessory line that fits Bosch, Ridgid, Milwaukee, and Fein oscillating multifunction tools. In other words, this tool’s “universal” nature might not make a difference once other brands start adding cross-platform compatibility to their tools and accessories.

Milwaukee M12 Cordless Li-Ion Palm Nailer

[Edit: Read more about the new nailer here.]

In our new tool predictions, we failed to imagine that Milwaukee would release a cordless hammer/nailer of their own. Craftsman, Ryobi, and Ridgid each offer one such tool, but as we mentioned in our review, the design was underpowered and uncomfortable to use on large nails.

ProToolReviews says that Milwaukee’s new palm nailer absolutely makes those [other] cordless hammers pale in comparison. Now those are pretty optimistic claims that we look forward to seeing validated.

Milwaukee M12 Cordless Hammer Drill Driver

This won’t be the first 12V cordless hammer drill on the market (Panasonic and Rockwell beat them to it), but it does look pretty handy. The hammer drill/driver should be able to drill and drive 5/16″ Tapcons.

Have you seen a corded or even a cordless hammer drill? This rather compact looking tool is big news – the size and weight savings of the M12 version will probably make it a hot seller.

Other additions to the M12 product line include a heated jacket (perhaps this can be used to keep Li-ion batteries warmer as well), and a ProPEX expansion tool (shown above).

We’ll keep you updated as additional info, press releases, and photos trickle in from other sources.

    A BATTERY-POWERED HEATED JACKET??

That is definitely a novel idea.
I like their idea of 2 different batteries.

Everett, what about an M12 peltier-cooled jacket? Technically, although it wouldn’t be the best idea, this would be quite possible.
