I was asked recently if there are any deals on cordless sanders. Here’s a good one – Home Depot has the Milwaukee M18 cordless random orbit sander with a 2Ah battery for $104.97.
Holiday season gift center deals are a few days away from kicking off, but I don’t recall ever seeing any deal bundles featuring Milwaukee’s cordless sander.
I believe that it has been included in deal bundles in the past, where you buy something, such as cordless power tool combo kit for $399, and get this as a free bonus item.

But I can’t find any examples of the sander being a special buy bundle item or similar. Dewalt has had holiday special buy bundles for their cordless sanders, but not Milwaukee.
In other words, I think this is the best deal on this M18 cordless sander that one could hope for, unless something surprising comes up. Even so, if this were a holiday deal, there’d be some evidence of it right now at retailers, even if it weren’t at its special buy price yet.
- 5″ round sanding pad
- 3/32″ orbit diameter
- 7,000-12,000 variable speed dial
- Universal vacuum hose adapter
- Dust canister is included
As for the price, the sander looks to retail for $129 right now, up to $149. With this price, it looks like you’re saving a bit from its $129 price and getting a compact battery for free.
You’ll need to source your own M18 charger – one is NOT included with this bundle.
Sale Price: $104.97 for tool-only and battery
The sander is on sale as part of Home Depot’s PRO tool deals of the week, which end at 3am ET 10/23/23.

Some of those other deals might interest you – it’s worth checking out.

I got it “free” once with a nailer kit for $299.
This is pretty good if you need it. I wonder if this indicates and update is coming soonish.

I’m thinking that if a new model were imminent, it would have been shown off at Milwaukee’s Pipeline new product event in August.

I have been absolutely flummoxed by the number of net tools they not only don’t mention at Pipeline but simply seem to have no PR around at all.
To be fair, most of those are specialized tools that I first see on “coming soon”.

Outstanding price for the tool plus battery. I have Makita’s version (XOB01Z) that is selling as a bare tool for anywhere from $115 to $149 at most oulets ( eBay has a listing for them for $79.97)

Had just bought that combo… Orbital M18 sander and/2.0 battery package 3 weeks ago for the $129 along with the 2″ planer and M12 radio/starter kit deal. Did an online chat yesterday about a price match and they refunded the price difference.
Andrew
Actually, it was only $99 in my HD today. Online had it for the price in your article…. And it was an online purchase online. In the store, the price of the sander had been reduced from $129 to $99….. And they had the 2.0 AH batteries in stock. Walked out with a saver and battery that i never intended to buy. 🤷♂️

It’s a pretty good sander. I used mine for quite a few projects before selling it. My only complaint was that the dust collection box does have a tendency to be fiddly and the lid falls off, but if you’re careful it works well. I usually ran mine hooked up to a vac and dust collection was decent.
Andrew
Agreed. I use a rubber band to help keep the lid on if I dont have a vac hooked up.

That’s a good call, sander drives me nuts because the lid always pops off

I got the Bosch 18V with battery and charger for $99 last year. It’s a thousand times smoother than this one. Sold this POS after using it. The damn box cover refuses to stay on

Still don’t know why tool companies here in the US won’t list under specs important things such as dB,and vibration . You know; things that matter. Nerve damage is no joke.

I jumped on this deal in November 2022:
(2) 5.0 batteries plus a charger on sale for $199 and you got to pic a “free” tool.
I picked the 1/4 sheet sander that had recently come out. I returned the battery kit to HD and they credited me back ~$115 so I got that sander for $85. Nice deal if you are willing to play the game.
I certainly like the RO sander more than the 1/4 sheet, but they both have their place.

As an owner of nearly (40) m18 tools, bought this for battery compatibility.
There is vibration and add the weird/proprietary/clunky dust box as referenced above.
You can get a Bosch 18v ,or 12v (which I bought to go along with the planer last year..since added the orbital.
There is no comparison in vibration, and dust bag…also easily can be connected to a universal vacuum hose.
The Bosch 12 and 18v have holiday deals including a free battery and charger for roughly the same price.
