Today only, 5/9/2025, Home Depot has a fantastic deal of the day on this Milwaukee M18 Fuel cordless power tool combo kit.
This M18 Fuel combo kit, with the current generation brushless hammer drill and brushless impact driver, is often eligible for different promos.
With today’s deal, the cordless power tool combo kit comes bundled with another 5Ah battery beyond the two that’s included in the kit, and at a price that’s far lower than we typically see.

So that’s the two tools, charger, hard shell case, and 3x 5Ah batteries for just under $268.
Update 4:30pm ET: Home Depot bumped the price up to $349. Sorry folks, I should have realized this price was too good to be true, hopefully some of you got in on the deal!
Price: $267.84
Deal ends at 3am ET 5/10/25

There’s also a deal of the day on the Milwaukee M18 Fuel cordless impact driver kit.
Price: $302.28
Deal ends at 3am ET 5/10/25
Hold on.

This is everything you get for under $268.

And this is everything you get – plus another 5Ah battery – for just over $302.
Both kits come with the same model 2953 M18 Fuel impact driver. The only difference is that the combo kit also includes the 2904 M18 Fuel hammer drill.
$268 deal price: hammer drill, impact driver, charger, case, 3x batteries
$302 deal price: impact driver, charger, case, 3x batteries
“But I don’t need a hammer drill and only want the impact driver.” Sure, but getting the combo kit with the hammer drill saves you an extra ~$34.
This is just how things work out sometimes.
“But I don’t really need a third M18 Li-ion battery.”

Well, at the time of this posting, the 2-tool combo kit is $399. Getting the combo kit with the bonus third battery will save you around $131.
So what’s going on here? HOME DEPOT DEAL MATH!
Sometimes I’m convinced Home Depot’s pricing and promo algorithms have a mind of their own. Other times, it seems like genius strategy.
I mean, $399 for the 2-tool combo kit, $302 for the 1-tool kit with a bonus battery, or $268 for the 2-tool combo kit with a bonus 3rd battery? It’s such a good deal that I wouldn’t hesitate if I were in the market for some new Fuel power tools.
What do you think – is this instance of Home Depot Tool Deal Math unintentional, or is it great strategy?
Update: My Point Still Stands
As mentioned in the alert above, Home Depot bumped the price up to $349.
Still, here’s where things are now:
$349: Milwaukee M18 Fuel combo kit plus bonus 5Ah battery (deal of the day)
$399: Milwaukee M18 Fuel combo kit
Home Depot has been doing these kind of deals for a few years now, and it’s been very effective.
Let’s say you miss the deal and have to buy the same tool the very next day. Would you rather A) spend more money to get the same tools, or B) spend the same money and miss out on a bonus tool or battery?

Seems bizarre to get more and pay less.

It’s a great way to get you to pull the trigger.
I’m tempted to buy it and I don’t need ANY of it.
Because it must be a steal, right!
Robert
Or are we seeing behind the green curtain and today’s $268 price is the “real” price? Is it a loss leader, are HD or Big Red losing money? I doubt it.
Stuart
So… it’s complicated.
$449 is the rare regular price on the combo
$399 is the regular promo price on the combo
$349 is a seasonal promo price on the combo
$399 was last years “buy this, get a free tool” holiday promo price
$349 tends to be Home Depot’s deal of the day limited time pricing for combo plus free tool offers

Man, my Dewalt 1/2″ hammerdrill is getting tired… gonna do it! Seeing more red at home…

Well, I rarely ever buy a Milwaukee tool at the regular price for this reason and I probably haven’t bought an individual battery ever. So is it Genius marketing or just the overpricing strategy everyone else uses? It seems that only the pro trades line of tools have consistent pricing and Home Depot is pricing popular packages to compete with the other brands in the non trades retail market. So Snap On prices until Harbor Freight raises the bar…

Unfortunately it’s $350 when I use that link. May be a local thing.

Dang it. They changed it back to the price it was supposed to be, $349. I would have grabbed a couple too.
I looked on the deal site that had it listed, and guess i changed back within the last 30minutes.

It’s $349 for me now. Probably sold out of whatever inventory they had
Dave
Must have been a mistake; they fixed it.

Don’t believe that price, Home Depot jacked most of their prices up this week by almost 30%. A dorm fridge that was 169.00 last week is now 249.00 this week. MET has been scrambling around and trying to get all of the tags changed due to tarrifs. And if you want tools at a better price just get them from the manufacturer on amazon where it is usually 30-60 % cheaper than HD on any normal day.
Stuart
Milwaukee doesn’t sell direct. Milwaukee tools on Amazon are typically purchased from Home Depot and elsewhere on sale and resold for more money but less than full price.
I hope you have an easy weekend! I’ve been to Home Depot and Lowe’s on spring weekends, and it’s not pretty.

They did this about three months ago with the 6-1/2 circular saw. I bought it. The. They cancelled my order. I ended up buying the tool for 299 with a battery but they cancelled the order right after I bought it. I think it was an error but they did not honor the purchase. It didn’t cost them business, HD and Lowe’s are my local improvement business so that’s that but I was and still am ticked off about the whole thing.

True about the Milwaukee but take a look at the DeWalt tools. DeWalt sells directly on Amazon, my favorite comparison is the DCL040 work light. 84.00 at HD, exact same model light on Amazon 39.00.

All those much lower prices are from resellers.
It’s hard tell if Home Depot’s higher price is due to tariffs or to discourage “deal hacking.” The latter often results in list pricing or higher because of prorated bundle refund tricks.
